No one thinks that a live creature will emerge from a child’s everyday “owie.”
But that’s just happened to 4-year-old Paul Franklin of Aliso Viejo, Calif. It started when he fell and cut his knee on a rock during a family vacation to the beach, the Orange County Register reports.
When it became swollen, Paul’s mom, Rachael, took her son to urgent care, where the doctor said Paul had a staph infection.
But after a course of antibiotics, the wound had not healed; in fact, Rachael noticed her son’s knee was turning black, CBS reports in the video above. Against a doctor’s recommendation, she squeezed the wound to drain it.
A black snail shot out of her son’s knee. “He moved!” Rachael screamed, she recalled to the Register. “There’s a freakin’ little guy in there! Bubbles were coming up.”
Paul’s father, Ken, believes his son must have fallen on a nest on that rock, forcing an egg into his knee, where it began gestating.
Paul, whose knee is almost completely healed, has named the snail Turbo.
This is the stuff of which nightmares – and cheesy Hollywood horror movies – are made. He even kept the damn thing!

The drive-in “sex boxes” as they are being called, officially opened on August 26, as part of a drive by authorities in Zurich to regulate prostitution, combat pimping and improve security for sex workers. The nine garage-style structures, located in a former industrial zone in the west of the city, have been organised with typically Swiss precision. Drivers will have to follow a clearly marked route along which up to 40 prostitutes will be stationed.
Once they have chosen one of the women and negotiated a fee, they will drive into one of the wooden sheds, which are hung with posters advocating the use of condoms and warning of the risk of Aids. The sex boxes are equipped with alarms which the prostitutes can activate if they feel in danger from a client. The site is only open to drivers of cars – pedestrians and men on motorbikes are not allowed – and will operate from early evening until 5am each day.
The sex boxes are one of several measures intended to reduce the large numbers of prostitutes plying their trade in residential areas and in the city centre, including a ban on soliciting along the Sihlquai river embankment. Men who solicit street workers outside three new approved zones, including the cluster of sex boxes, will face fines of up to 450 francs (£310).
“We want to regulate prostitution because until now it was the law of the jungle,” said Michael Herzig, from Zurich’s social welfare department, when the initiative was announced. “It was the pimps who decided the prices, for instance. We are trying to reach a situation which is better for the prostitutes themselves, for their health and security and also for people who live in Zurich.” The £1.4 million project was approved by voters in Zurich last year in a referendum. While prostitution is legal in Switzerland, sex workers have to pay a tax of five Swiss francs (£3.50) each night that they work.

The agent reports that the Chateau is in foreclosure and also available for an immediate short sale for $340,ooo. Sealed bids are now being taken, so GET YOUR BID ON to own Chateau Sheree! Sadly, the ballroom, the librart and the skate-rink aren’t move in ready.
My source says there are two loans on the property and that you can probably buy the Chateau for the low to mid 300s. Of course the place is once again a tear down considering how long it has been sitting in the rain wearing nothing but an expired Tyvek wrap to protect from the massive monsoons we have been having lately..
Also, Sheree may actually be try to buy it back herself but that would be tricky if it is still in the name of her shell corp, BLU Management. I am sure she thinks she has some new sheisty trick up her sleeve. When we were in court there was something about her LLC paperwork that she was desperately trying to hide.

Jennifer Lopez is back! After months of speculation, sources have confirmed to Us Weekly that the 44-year-old singer will be returning to American Idol for its 13th season. Lopez had served as a judge for two previous seasons in 2011 and 2012.
Lopez will be joining fellow musician Keith Urban, who has already signed on for another consecutive year. “I can’t talk too much about it . . . I will confirm one thing is Keith [Urban] is gonna return to the show,” FOX chairman Kevin Reilly announced at the 2013 Summer TCA Press Tour in early August.
He added: “Keith did a great job last year, the fans really liked him. Keith’s a really funny guy . . .”
The “Live It Up” singer’s rejoining of the singing competition follows the departures of Season 12 judges, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and veteran judge Randy Jackson. Jackson announced his exit in May, while Carey and Minaj followed suit later in the month.
Auditions are currently underway for Season 13 of American Idol. A third judge has not yet been determined.

Rapper Ryan Leslie is being sued by a New York Police Department detective for using the cop’s voice in a break-up song about his supermodel ex-girlfriend without permission.
Australian bombshell Nicole Trunfio called the police on the musician in 2011 after he allegedly refused to stop calling her or knocking on her door.
Detective Luis Mortimer followed up the complaint, leaving a voicemail on Leslie’s phone asking him or his lawyer to return his call.
A year later, his message was being broadcast across the world in Leslie’s rap song ‘Joan of Arc.’
Now Mortimer is now taking Leslie to court after, claiming his career was damaged by the hip-hopper’s tune, which ends with the 15-year police veteran’s voicemail.
According to The New York Post the jilted rapper was never arrested but he still claimed in the song to have been thrown in a holding cell for ‘messin’ wit pretty females.’
Other lines in the song include: ‘I wake up to detec’ messages in my e-mail,’and ‘since when a birthday gift is harassment/a rose gold bracelet nothing subliminal/You called your lawyer up said my actions were criminal. Girls play the victim so well — Joan of Arc.’
Mortimer only learned of his starring role a few months ago, when he started getting calls about it.
‘The song has caused him embarrassment and has damaged his credibility as a detective,’ his lawyer, Monica Kipiniak, told The Post.Mortimer claims Leslie’s unauthorized use of his voice is exploitation and violates his civil rights.
He is seeking unspecified damages in a lawsuit filed with the Manhattan Supreme Court last week.
In 2010, Leslie reneged on a $1 million reward he offered for the safe return of his missing laptop. The computer was found by a German man walking his dog.
It appears nobody taught him about clearing a sample of somebody’s voice before using it in a song. Time to pay up.

An interracial couple who was attacked on their way home from dinner in Queens, NY say they their attackers used both racial and anti-gay slurs before the altercation that left the husband bloodied and the wife with a broken toe.

An interracial married couple says they were attacked outside a bar in Queens early Saturday, and that their attackers used racial and homophobic slurs.
Billie and Jacob James-Vogel say they and a gay friend had been celebrating Billie James-Vogel’s 40th birthday in Long Island City and were attacked when they left the bar.
They say three men began hurling homophobic and racist slurs at their group before physically assaulting them.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the argument began when one of the men kissed Billie James-Vogel, and words were exchanged between the husband and that man.
Jacob James-Vogel suffered a black eye and a head injury; his wife had a broken toe and other bruises. Kelly said one person had been arrested, and police were still investigating.
“We’re still looking at it as a possible hate crime,” Kelly said.
Yet another unfortunate incident that look to be motivated by nothing but hate…

A Canadian family are reeling after a stranger sent them a letter telling them to euthanize their severely autistic son.
During the summer, 13-year-old Max Begley spends his mornings with his grandmother Brenda Millson in Newcastle.
She says she was shaking after receiving a letter Friday from an anonymous neighbor complaining that the noise Max makes outside is ‘DREADFUL!’ and that it ‘scares the hell out of my normal children!’ Mrs Millson shared the whole letter with CityNewsToronto.
Signed off ‘one pissed off mother’ the woman goes on to say that the noises Max makes are not appropriate for the neighborhood.
‘Crying babies, music and even barking dogs are normal sounds in a residential neighborhood! He is not!’
The woman’s deranged letter goes beyond the offensive noise complaint into even more repugnant territory, writing that Max is a ‘hindrance’.
‘Who the hell is going to care for him? No employer will ever hire him, no normal girl is going to marry/love him and you are not going to live forever!’
Then she recommends something truly atrocious.
‘Personally, they should take whatever non mentally challenged body parts he possesses and donate it to science. What the hell else good is he to anyone!’
‘Do the right thing and move or euthanize him! Either way, we are ALL better off.’
‘Who says that about a child?’ Max’s mother Karla Begley asked City News.
She started to cry as she explained that her secondary progressive multiple sclerosis keeps her from walking and running with her son.
Since learning about the letter, neighbors of Max’s grandmother have come out in a public display of support for the boy in an attempt to out the letter’s author.
Max’s father is worried that the letter might lead to violence against his son.
‘A person that’s that crazy or demented who would fabricate something like that…it leads me to believe that they’re very dangerous,’ Jim Begley said, ‘and right now I’m scared for my son’s safety.
If the writer is identified, Max’s family plans to press charges.
They should definitely press charges. Nobody should say that to an autistic 13-year-old child.
