Kenya Moore Says Her Friendship With NeNe Leakes Is Over

Their friendship seemed to be heading in the right direction on season 6 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but Kenya Moore hinted that she and NeNe Leakes aren’t on speaking terms anymore.

“Last season, she had all these jobs. She was this Hollywood actress, and she had arrived, and she had made it and this season she doesn’t have any of that,” Kenya explained to Wendy Williams. “Last season she welcomed me. She was like, ‘Oh, Kenya, do your thing.’ Now, all of a sudden this is all she has and things changed. They drastically changed.”

The season did start of tense between Kenya and NeNe when Kenya complained about her co-stars not being there for her in her time of need. However, NeNe shut that down quick, reminding Kenya that all her cast mates were going through things. Plus, Kenya didn’t even respond to NeNe’s wedding invitation, much less attend the ceremony.

However, they seemed to move past that, and NeNe even took Kenya to look for a new place to live. She also organized a pow wow and encouraged Kenya to address rumors, about her relationship with Apollo Nida, that had her co-stars concerned. In a more recent episode, Kenya defended NeNe who planned an event for the women, only to have to wait three hours for them all to arrive.

A vast improvement over their season 5 relationship, which was virtually non-existent thanks to NeNe’s busy schedule, Kenya said their new-found camaraderie doesn’t last.

“You’ll have to make the decision for yourself when you watch it unfold,” she said. “It’s not like it used to be…it gets really bad. It gets really bad.”

When asked if the two “RHOA” co-stars are still on speaking terms, Kenya didn’t confirm or deny, but it wouldn’t be the first time NeNe gave a housewife the silent treatment. After four seasons filming together, she’s reportedly no longer cordial with former co-star Sheree Whitfield.

Welp NeNe! With ‘Glee’ in its last season and ‘The New Normal’ cancelled, it does seem as if NeNe has had to twirl back into reality.

USA Today Asks Where Are The Black Women In Hollywood?

Last week marked the beginning of the awards season frenzy, as nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Golden Globes were announced. Yet, there was one important group that made a poor showing among the roster of talented nominees: black women. While Oprah Winfrey (The Butler) and Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) both picked up supporting actress SAG nominations (and Nyong’o grabbed another from the Golden Globes), they are the lone black women on a list of lily-white female film nominees.

In fact, black women are entirely absent in the best actress, best director and best screenplay categories, begging a troubling question: Where are the black women in Hollywood?

“This is always such a tough question for me, because I’m really optimistic about my journey and I can’t really compare my journey to Cameron Diaz’s journey or Reese Witherspoon’s, because we’re not the same,” says Nia Long, whose romantic comedy The Best Man Holiday, which has taken in nearly $68 million at the box office so far. “We’re not considered for the same roles. We’re not paid the same. That’s just the truth.” Even with Scandal star and current “it” girl Kerry Washington peeking out from multiple magazine covers, landing endorsement deals, awards nominations and hosting diversity-challenged Saturday Night Live, Hollywood is hurting when it comes to opportunities for black women. It’s a stark contrast to the music industry, where such performers as Beyoncé, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have enjoyed major success.

So, why is Hollywood lagging? Oscar nominee Viola Davis says black actresses are “in crisis mode,” with not enough roles to go around and a lack of opportunities for them to showcase their talents. “We’re in deprivation mode, because listen: me, Alfre (Woodard) and Phylicia (Rashad) … we’re in the same category. Whereas if you take a Caucasian actress, you have the ones who are the teens, in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and they’re all different,” Davis said during an episode of Winfrey’s Next Chapter.

“There’s roles for each of them, but when you only have two or three categories for black actresses — you want to work. It’s a natural instinct. If you throw a piece of cheese in a room full of rats, they’re going to claw at each other.” There is some good news for black actresses, though. In addition to Winfrey, Nyong’o and Washington’s nominations, Zoe Saldana has A-list projects, including Avatar 2 and a just-announced role in the Miles Davis biopic opposite Don Cheadle.

On network television, Washington’s hosting gig earned SNL its highest ratings of the season and Scandal continues to be a hit for ABC. Plus, several black actresses have found work this season on new series, including American Horror Story: Coven’s Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe and Sleepy Hollow’s Nicole Behari and Lyndie Greenwood. And, showrunner Mara Brock Akil will launch the new Gabrielle Union-led series Being Mary Jane Jan. 7 on BET.

Some box office watchers seemed shocked by the success of The Best Man Holiday, which gave Marvel’s Thor sequel a run for its money in its opening weekend. But, the film’s home run is simply proof that there is a market of black audiences longing to see their stories on the big screen, Peete says.

Box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian says Hollywood’s approach to reaching black audiences cannot be a one-size-fits-all strategy. “The things that draw African Americans to the multiplex are the same things that draw everybody. Is the movie good? It’s not just create a movie for a particular audience and it’s going to be a hit with that audience.” Above all, there needs to be a more level playing field when it comes to opportunity and access for black women, says Allen.

“The word that we all want is ‘possibility.’ But the word we don’t have enough of is probably ‘opportunity,’ ” she says. “I’m looking at all the young women I’m mentoring and the ones that I have raised. Jada Pinkett Smith is someone who I discovered, who is now a mogul. … It’s about us remembering to network and call upon one another and give opportunity when it’s possible.” When that happens, Peete thinks that roles for black women could go to infinity and beyond — literally.

“That would have been interesting to have George Clooney opposite a Kerry (Washington in Gravity). We have a black female astronaut, so don’t tell me we can’t do that!”

Harvard Student Calls In Bomb Threat To Avoid Final Exams

A Harvard University  student recently went to extreme lengths and spread word that there were bombs placed around campus in hopes of avoiding his final exams. And he probably succeeded……..since there’s a strong chance he’ll be in court during the time of finals.

Bomb threats that led to the evacuations of four Harvard University campus buildings this week were made by a student trying to get out of taking a final exam, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The student, 20-year-old Eldo Kim, sent emails saying bombs had been placed around campus to Harvard police, two university officials and the president of the Harvard Crimson newspaper, according to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. attorney’s office.

The messages said shrapnel bombs would go off soon in two of four buildings, including one where prosecutors say Kim was supposed to take an exam at 9 a.m. Monday. The buildings, on Harvard’s campus in Cambridge, just outside Boston, were shut down for hours before investigators determined there were no explosives.

Kim, who lives in Cambridge, is to make an initial court appearance Wednesday. It was unknown if he had an attorney.

Investigators from several agencies searched the campus buildings for hours before determining there were no explosives. One of the buildings was a freshman dormitory; classes are held in the other three.

Harvard said in a statement it was “saddened” by the allegations in the federal complaint but would have no further comment on the ongoing criminal investigation.

Finals can definitely be a beyotch, but it’s never this serious for someone to do anything this dumb. SMH.

A mother and her 15-year-old son were arrested Thursday after Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the pair broke into 40 cars and businesses in various local businesses.

Neighbors told WESH 2′s Claire Metz that the Prilutskaya family is infamous for wreaking havoc on St. Augustine Road, where the family lives.

Roger Johnson, a neighbor, said he walked out on his porch and clapped as police led 52-year-old Lyudmila Prilutskaya and her son out of their home in handcuffs.

WESH 2 is not naming the son, but Prilutskaya is facing charges of burglary, grand theft, child neglect and contributing to delinquency.

Deputies said the pair burglarized dozens of vehicles in the Spruce Creek Fly-in community and surrounding cities.

The son would drive and burglarize while the mother gave her approval on various stolen goods.

A Virginia Beach man is asking for donations to the legal defense of his wife — who allegedly tried to kill their two kids.

Jeff Aiken, 25, insists prescription drugs are to blame for his wife Lorita’s shocking breakdown that made her allegedly feed her kids cake and ice cream covered in prescription drugs.

“It wasn’t her,” Aiken told the Virginian-Pilot. “I am 100 percent certain that without all those drugs in her system, it wouldn’t have happened. I just want to get her the help she needs, and I know she won’t get that sitting in jail.”

The nightmare began Nov. 22 when he returned home at 4 a.m. from a double-shift at a Virginia Beach restaurant.

A chilling message on his computer’s screen saver awaited him: “You will never hurt me or my children again,” it read, according to Aiken, who detailed the horrifying night to the Virginian-Pilot Tuesday.

In the kitchen he saw open prescription bottles and white powder from crushed pills.

As he rushed upstairs each step had a piece of paper bearing the same awful note: “You will never hurt me or my children again.”

In his bedroom his worst fears were realized: His 5-year-old son, 4-year-old daughter and Lorita all lay unconscious beside cake and ice cream covered in crushed pills.

The three survived.

Lorita is being held without bond on two charges of attempted murder and altering food and drink, the Virginian-Pilot reported.

And now Jeff Aiken is trying to raise money for his wife’s upcoming trial, saying that she had become addicted to painkillers, anti-depressants and sleeping pills.

At least he’s loyal right? Some folks would have bounced after that.

Amina Says She Regrets Marrying Peter Gunz

Love & Hip Hop mistress-turned-main-thang Amina Buddafly is finally starting to realize what the rest of the world figured out in the first episode of this season: marrying Peter Gunz was some of the dumbest isht she could have ever done.

Amina Buddafly is having some second thoughts about her marriage to Peter Gunz, and she doesn’t think they should have gotten hitched.

Peter’s said that their union was the result of a rash decision that he regrets, but Amina agrees that they had no business running off to city hall to get married. In fact, she doesn’t think that Peter really just needs to remain a bachelor.

“The truth is, we are really not supposed to be married right now,”Amina told CocoaFab.com. “We are supposed to be together and we love each other. Sometimes I’m like, we shouldn’t be married. He is not even somebody I think should be married, ever.”

Despite her moment of clarity, Amina says she still plans to ride it out on with Peter and has no plans to leave him.

[While]Amina doesn’t plan on leaving Peter, she does think it was a mistake for them to wed as quickly as they did. She doesn’t feel as though their marriage was built on a strong enough foundation.

“That’s the reason why him and even me now says that we regret it. We didn’t get married like every other couple. It was just a spontaneous thing that probably should not have happened. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t married to him,” Amina confessed.

This chick must really be lost in the sauce to think that anything normal or good can come of this union when she herself admits that Peter is far from marriage material. Amina also spoke on watching Peter prepare to get it in with Tara on national television after they were married.

Doctors Perform C-Section On Woman And Discover That She’s Not Pregnant

A group of doctors in Brazil got the shock of their lives recently after they performed a c-section on a woman who led them to believe that she was pregnant and even falsified her prenatal tests.

Officials in southeastern Brazil say doctors performed a cesarean section on a 37-year-old woman only to discover that she wasn’t pregnant.

Simone Carvalho is a spokeswoman for the Health Department of the coastal city of Cabo Frio. She said Tuesday the woman told doctors at the city’s Woman’s Hospital she was 41 weeks pregnant and in pain.

Carvalho said one reason doctors believed she was pregnant was because “she had the symptoms associated with pregnancy like an enlarged abdomen and nausea.”

Carvalho said “doctors could not hear the baby’s heartbeat and feeling its life was in danger ordered an emergency cesarean after which they discovered it was a false pregnancy.”

The spokeswoman added the woman “was so convinced she was pregnant, that she altered her prenatal tests that showed otherwise because she was convinced the results were wrong.”

I have a boyfriend and we’ve been together 8 months, but he’s been locked up 4 of those months.

I’ve been by his side every day since. He still has 12 more months to go. I do plan on being there for him. I don’t plan on going anywhere. Things are starting to change though. He’s always asking for money, which he’s my man and I don’t mind giving him anything he needs, but at the same time, hell, I have my life and my own bills that are going to get paid first and foremost.

Just like other guys in jail he says when he gets out we’re getting married and going to start a family together. I’m moving to New Orleans in the next few days for work and he’s locked up in Alabama. I want him to come to me when he gets out so we can get our lives together. If God plans it! At the end of the day, I’m like do I want to really do this or not. I’m making plans on getting us a house together and starting things for us. I’m nowhere near my selfish self right now. Honestly, I have cheated on him once since he’s been locked up. That was just a one-time fling though. Actually, a waste of time because the d**k wasn’t even good at all. I’m not a cheater and haven’t cheated since. I haven’t even talked to another guy. I really do love him with all of my heart. I’m in love with him. We were friends 5 five years prior to getting together, but I’m thinking now is this really what I want.

All of my friends judge me and say I’m better than that being with an incarcerated dude, but you can’t help who you love. He wants to leave the streets alone and get his life on track. But, it’s still that should I question in my head. My heart, emotions, and love is in this dude. I cry for him because I love him. See, this is why the mind is a terrible thing to waste. You are so focused on the wrong things, and unfortunately you will continue to repeat this pattern in your life over and over again. And, this perpetual cycle will hinder you, and prevent you from seeking your full potential.

To be very clear: You are a sexual deviant. I can tell by your letter, and the underlying tone of which it reeks. The terms and phrases around sex, sexuality, and the performance of sex says a lot about you, and your preoccupation with it. I’m just pointing that out, first.

You claim that you’re in a “relationship” with someone who is locked up; a man in prison who has been convicted of a crime. And, you’re bragging about staying by his side, putting money on his books, and entertaining the idea of starting a family with him. This same man who has another year to do on his sentence, yet, you’ve already cheated on him with some other dude, and are thinking of sleeping with your BFF to satisfy your bi-curious tendencies? Some ride or die chick you turned out to be! SMDH! Someone has left the gate open because the donkeys and jackasses are running rampant.

First, let’s be clear about something: You are not in a relationship with him. If he’s been locked up for four months out of the eight months you’ve been together, then, boo boo, a relationship you do not have. How the hell can you claim a relationship with someone and half of the time they’ve been in prison? And, it’s only been months? Chile, your grandmother needs to get a good switch from the bushes and wear you out! Sit your a** down and have several seats on the short yellow bus. The hell is wrong with you!?! And, put your damn helmet on. I don’t want you messing up the leather on the seats.

Next, your entire letter is all about sex. The whack sex you had when you cheated on your “boyfriend,” and the hopeful sex you want to engage in with your BFF, who is a girl. Why are you so focused on sex and not school? Why not spend the energy on something more productive like really working on you, changing your life, healing yourself, and furthering yourself with school, or some other positive outlets? Sex is all you are concerned and thinking about. You need to get to the root of why you think sex is equated with like or love. And, why are you using sex as an escape mechanism. What are you running from? What are you trying to escape? Why are you using sex to deal with the emotional and mental problems you have?

Yes, you have mental and emotional problems. If you think you have a relationship with a man who is locked up, then something is wrong with you mentally. You don’t think you’re a cheater, yet, you cheated on him and he’s only been locked up for four months. Yeah, that is something mental. Then, you are having sexual thoughts and desires for your BFF, and you don’t know where they came from. Then, you claim you love your “boyfriend,” and will be by his side and you are not going anywhere, yet, your confusion about whether or not if you really want to be with him, and if you should do this with him are clear signs that something is wrong with you mentally and emotionally.

But, let me back up a minute. You are moving to New Orleans for your job, but you want your locked up boyfriend to come live with you once he is released in a year. You are going to find a house, and get things ready and in order for him because you said you are thinking about, “our lives.” You ain’t got no damn life together! And, why would you be getting things in order for a man who needs to be doing for himself? Chile, we can all see how this is going to end, and where it’s going. You’re going to end up as another tragic hood rat story gone wrong.

And, look here, sweetie, you contradict yourself twice in the letter because you say, “Do I really want to do this or not?” And, “But I’m really thinking is this really what I want.” Yet, you claim you love him. Uhm, Sha’quashay De-jon-ay Jenkins, you don’t love him. You don’t want him. He just sexed you real good, and you’re not sure if you can hold out until he gets out.

In the meantime, you’re considering jumping on your BFF because you can’t explain your sexual desires for her. Do you see and notice the pattern of sexual deviancy that is playing out in your life? You are preoccupied with sex. You claim that you’ve liked, “d**k all my life, and always will.” And, yet, you are interested in lesbian sex with your BFF. So, no matter how you get it, where you get it, and whom you get it from, sex fulfills something for you.

What’s missing in your life? What are you hoping to fulfill? What emptiness do you feel, and you want to fill?

Find yourself a spiritual counselor, and a spiritual institution, and begin to spiritually cleanse yourself. Also, find a therapist, or locate a counselor you can speak with about your life, your past, and what happened to you as a child. There is a bigger issue at hand, and you need to get to the root of this in order to heal yourself, and the preoccupation with your sexual thoughts and ideation. Then, enroll in school, further your education, and leave the boyfriend in jail alone. He cannot do anything for you. He is there for another year. Why would you send him your hard earned money? He put himself in there, then let him figure out how to take care of himself while he’s there. He is not going to get out and marry you. And, he is not going to move to New Orleans to be with you. Trust me when I tell you this. In regards to your BFF, leave her alone. You are projecting your sexual desires onto her. She has not told you, or confirmed she is a lesbian. Nor has she initiated any sexual advances toward you. Therefore, instead of assuming she is a lesbian, or bi-sexual, you need to be working on yourself and figuring out why you are having these sexual thoughts and desires for her. – Terrance Dean

Kordell Stewart Flirts With Towanda Braxton After Divorce

That was fast! Less than two weeks after Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Porsha and Kordell Stewart‘s divorce was finalized, Kordell was spotted out on the town Tuesday night in Atlanta with another reality star: Towanda Braxton!

The Braxton Family Values star flirted and posed for pictures with Kordell at the Atlanta premiere of Grudge Match Tuesday night before he was seen programming her number into his phone.

The two could have a lot to talk about since Braxton is going through a messy split of her own. Braxton is currently legally separated from her husband, Andre Carter, but the two are still living together. They moved in with her sister Trina after facing eviction from the home they shared.

“With the kids, we do things together,” Braxton recently said. “But as far as our marriage, we’re separated. I think that because you are separated and you’re not with that person, you don’t have to be mean and nasty. It doesn’t have to get ugly.”

“We don’t sleep in the same bed,” she clarified. “We’re like roommates … There are so many people now that are going through the same thing that I’m going through because of the recession, because of the economy. It’s affected so many people.”

As for Porsha, she insists she’s “in a better place” since the divorce, but admits she’s struggled to watch RHOA episodes dealing with the breakdown of her marriage.

Kordell has been rumored to be gay, but he denies it and Porsha insists the allegations had nothing to do with their breakup.

Taye Diggs was spotted out-and-about after announcing his split last week from his wife of 10 years, Idina Menzel.

The actor took in a Knicks game with his son, Walker, at Bill’s Bar & Burger in Rockefeller Center on Tuesday night. But afterward the actor, without his 4-year-old, was spotted at Tao Downtown, hanging out with friends.

Diggs — who’s starring in the hit movie “The Best Man Holiday” — and Menzel married in 2003 after meeting on the set of Broadway’s “Rent.”

Sounds like he’s just trying to enjoy his life. What’s he supposed to be doing — staying home moping over his failed marriage?

North Dakota Court Rules: Marrying Both Sexes Simultaneously Is Legal

Members of the LGBT community looking to engage legal polygamy with members of the same and opposite sex at once can now do so……….in North Dakota.

A man already married to another man in a state that permits same-sex marriage could wed a woman in North Dakota without breaking state laws, the state’s top attorney has found.

The finding raises potentially complex issues about Social Security and death benefits, tax exemptions and even possible prosecutions for bigamy or polygamy, said a constitutional law expert.

Those issues are likely to arise more often with 16 states plus the District of Columbia now recognizing same-sex marriage while a majority of states still ban it, said Jeffrey Shaman, a professor at DePaul University’s College of Law.

The issue came up when a man giving only his first name called Burleigh County Recorder Debbie Kroshus in September to ask if he could marry a woman in North Dakota if he were already married to a man in another state, she said.

“I didn’t ask where this caller was calling from or where he planned on getting a marriage license,” Kroshus said in a telephone interview, adding that it was not possible to determine if the man had applied for a marriage license.

The man could not get a divorce in North Dakota because of the state ban on same-sex marriage and he said the man he is married to also lives in a state that does not recognize gay marriage, Kroshus said.

Kroshus asked the state’s attorney from Burleigh County to seek the opinion from the attorney general.

North Dakota is among the states that ban same-sex marriage by state law and state constitutional amendment. Since it would not recognize the man’s same-sex marriage, he could also marry a woman in North Dakota without breaking state laws, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said in an opinion dated Dec. 12.

Stenehjem also found the man would not be committing a crime in North Dakota if he filled out the application as “single/never married” and declined to discuss whether he could be prosecuted for bigamy in another state if he later moved to a state that recognized same-sex marriage.

Shaman said more and more people will enter into same-sex marriages and move to other states as the recognition of same-sex marriage increases. And same-sex couples, like opposite-sex couples, will part ways.

“I think there are going to be more and more of these questions,” Shaman said in a telephone interview.

The Supreme Court has found that federal law must recognize same-sex marriage in states where it is legal, but the ruling in June that struck down part of the Defense of Marriage Act stopped short of requiring states to recognize same-sex marriages from other states, Shaman said.

This whole set up sounds like it could go all bad sooner than later, legal or not.
