Kendrick Lamar Donates Thousands To After-School Programs In Compton
How can you not love Kendrick Lamar? According to Urban Intellectuals, the Compton rapper has been doing more good in the hood than most people really know.
Kendrick is known to be a familiar face within his community, his grammy performance to highlight issues brought him into international spotlight but this man has been hard at work locally for as long as he has been able to help.
He has helped so much that in 2015 the California State Senate honored the artist with the 35th Senate District’s Generational Icon Award.
When receiving his award last May State Senator Isadore Hall III said
“In less than ten years as a professional artist, Mr. Lamar has gone from a local Compton young boy to become a multi-platinum, Billboard chart-topping, two-time Grammy Award-winning musician — an incredible achievement for anyone 27 years
“But Mr. Lamar has not let his recent fame get the best of him. If you visit Compton — and I would encourage all of my colleagues to do so — Mr. Lamar is a familiar face in the neighborhood…giving back to his community that raised him. He has personally donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to support sports programs, after school programs, music programs in the Compton Unified School District to help keep Compton students off the streets and in the classroom.”

The Game Cancels Tour After He Goes To The Wrong Country
The Game recently that he missed a flight to New Zealand for the Ragamuffin music festival. What the rapper didn’t say is that he went to a completely different country instead. According to DJ Booth reports:
Flying in from Dubai on Friday on his way to New Zealand, the rapper’s stay in Australia was very short as officers from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection turned him away after it turned out he had the wrong visa, reports the Australian Associated Press via New Zealand Herald.
With many ticket holders upset, and accusing the festival of intentionally failing to inform attendees of the rapper’s no show, Ragamuffin organisers then made a statement to Facebook clarifying the situation.
Organisers said they were in possession of a copy of The Game’s Visa, which was issued by New Zealand Immigration, but didn’t make it public for reasons of privacy. “The Game was 100 per cent approved to enter New Zealand. His management and I know this as fact,” Raggamuffin director Andrew McManus.
“We honestly believed The Game would honour his obligations to our festival and it was only when we had our people at the airport on Saturday to pick him up to play Raggamuffin IX did we find out he did not board the plane in Dubai. Statements to the contrary are simply not true.”
Not one to allow others to be the authors of his shame, The Game, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, took to social media to hit back saying “I didn’t miss my flight, we were denied entry once we landed at Customs,” although he conveniently left out the part of arriving in a different country.

Actor And Reality Star Traded Barbs On “Wild’N Out”
They reportedly almost came to blows while filming an MTV show after Stevie J bragged that he allegedly slept with Nick Cannon’s ex-wife Mariah Carey two times.
But Cannon said he’s cool with the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star and said the back and forth is all part of what happens on “Wild’N Out.”
“That’s my man!” Cannon told us Friday at a party at the Dream Hotel in NYC to celebrate his cover story in DuJour Magazine. “I don’t know where that came from. I’m a be honest with you – it got heated up there, but you gotta watch the episode.”

But Cannon gave as good as he got, saying that Stevie had better keep an eye on wife Joseline’s touchy-feely friendship with Rick Ross.
Cannon said fans of the show already know it’s known for sometimes below the belt humor.
“Obviously, everybody knows that’s what the show is about,” Cannon said, “and we don’t pull no punches. That was light work, what was going around, and the things that were said. Season 8 is probably going to be the craziest season yet.”

On Saturday, Newsday’s Jets beat writer Kimberly Martin shared some proof of that in the form a letter she received from a reader. The letter contained hateful, racist language about Cam Newton and black people in general.
In the letter Martin posted to Twitter, slurs are tossed around a number of times along with horrible stereotypes and lazy comparisons.

Even more good news for Kendrick Lamar. Right on the heels of a triumphant Grammy night, the West Coast rapper is getting the opportunity to honor his childhood idols, N.W.A., by welcoming them into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Kendrick Lamar will head to Brooklyn in April to welcome legendary hip-hop group N.W.A. to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the hall announced Monday. While speaking to a group of Compton High School students ahead of the Grammys, the “Alright” rapper named Dr. Dre among his musical influences, and fanboy-ed a bit while interviewing the group for Billboard in August.
“I’m trippin’ out right now looking at ya’ll right here,” he said before speaking with Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren.
The 31st Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center April 8, with HBO filming the event for an April 30 broadcast. Tickets for the live simulcast at the Rock Hall are now available.
Good for Kendrick! And we can’t think of a better choice…
