A 14-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the leg April 8th after a woman drove him and five other juveniles to a residence in Kenner to continue a fight that had occurred earlier in the day, authorities said.
Via NOLA reports:
Police arrested the woman, Lakenya Hall, 35, of Kenner, because she instigated the fight by taking over the group of boys, which included her own 11- and 15-year-old sons, said Lt. Brian McGregor, spokesman for the Kenner Police Department.
The injured teen was taken to nearby Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner where he is expected to recover.
The shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of West Louisiana State Drive in Kenner. Police learned that the teens had been involved in an earlier fight at a bus stop, McGregor said. Authorities aren’t sure what the teens were fighting about.
Afterwards, Hall, of 225 Clemson Place, drove six juveniles about a mile and a half away from their Lincoln Manor neighborhood to West Louisiana State Drive to continue the brawl, McGregor said.
At some point, a 15-year-old boy being confronted by Hall’s group pulled out a .22-caliber pistol that had been stored in a backpack and began chasing them, McGregor said. He opened fire, hitting the 14-year-old boy.
Police arrested the 15-year-old boy and booked him with aggravated battery, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, illegal use of weapons and disturbing the peace by fighting, McGregor said.
Officers arrested Hall and booked her with disturbing the peace by fighting and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
“Just because you’ve been in a fight, it doesn’t give you the right to go over there and start a whole new fight,” McGregor said. “She’s instigating something by taking the group over there in the first place.”
Police also arrested Hall’s two sons and booked them with disturbing the peace by fighting. Investigators expect more arrests to come as they identify the other teens who were present at the time of the fight and shooting, McGregor said.

Nelly’s lawyer is already mounting a defense in his meth arrest Saturday, claiming the drugs found weren’t his.
Via TMZ reports:
Nelly was arrested on his tour bus in Tennessee after it was pulled over for not having proper stickers. Cops say they smelled pot, then searched the bus and allegedly found meth, marijuana and guns.
Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, tells TMZ, there were 15 to 20 people who had access to the bus prior to the stop and there were multiple people on the bus when cops searched it. Rosenblum seems to take issue with cops on the meth issue, saying “a small quantity of [MDMA/Ecstasy] was discovered.”
Rosenblum adds, “Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Jordan and Tommy Gray’s 3-year-old daughter was watching “SpongeBob” when two armed men broke into their home near Buechel on March 21, 2013, and robbed them at gunpoint.

Two years later, when one of the offenders was about to be sentenced, Jordan wrote in a victim impact statement that her daughter was still “in constant fear of black men.” Both robbers were African-American.
“Whenever we are running errands, if we come across a black male, she holds me tight and begs me to leave,” the mother said. “It has affected her friendships at school and our relationships with African-American friends.”
Tommy Gray also wrote that since the crime, his daughter had been terrified of black males and that probation was not sufficient punishment for Gregory Wallace, 27, who had pleaded guilty to robbery.
“If holding a little girl at gunpoint gets you probation, then our system is flawed,” Gray said.
But when Wallace was brought up for sentencing Feb. 4 in Jefferson Circuit Court, it was the parents, not Wallace, who suffered Judge Olu Stevens’ wrath.
“I am offended. … I am deeply offended that they would be victimized by an individual and express some kind of fear of all black men,” he said.
“This little girl certainly has been victimized, and she can’t help the way she feels,” he said. “My exception is more with her parents and their accepting that kind of mentality and fostering those type of stereotypes.”
The Grays were not in court as Stevens denounced their statements and granted probation to Wallace, whom he said deserved the opportunity to redeem himself.

Shelley Dufresne, the former Destrehan High School teacher who admitted in court that she had sex with an under-age student, posted a smiling selfie to her Instagram account just hours after pleading guilty, WVUE television reports. Her caption: “my mood today”.
Dufresne, a 32-year-old Montz resident who is married and has three children, pleaded guilty to obscenity Thursday in 29th Judicial District Court in Hahnville. She admitted having sex last year with a 16-year-old student at home in Montz, avoiding prison time and sex offender offender registration but agreeing to 90 days’ mental health treatment and three years’ probation, and $1,000 fine.
She is one of two former Destrehan High teachers, along with Rachel Respess, 24, who also are accused in Jefferson Parish of having sex with the same student at an Respess’ apartment in Kenner on Sept. 12. Prosecutors have not decided whether to charge the women in that case in 24th Judicial District Court.

Loni Love went from being a comedienne to a bona fide stuntwoman for her new movie “Paul Blart Mall Cop 2.”
Love told BOSSIP that she did all of her own stunts for the sequel, working with a choreographer and stunt director to get the comedic timing just right.
Love plays Donna Ericone, a Mall of America security guard who teams up with Paul Blart (Kevin James) at a Las Vegas security guard convention.
“What I like about the movie is I’m the only mall cop who can kick butt,” Love told BOSSIP. “Donna Ericone is the only one who can actually fight in the movie, but in a comical way.”
The comedienne and co-host of “The Real,” said doing her own stunt scenes instead of having a stand in made the sequel even funnier.
“That gave us a lot of freedom to do things, to improvise,” Love, age told BOSSIP. “He (director Andy Fickman) wanted that comedy element in it. I’m glad we went in that direction.”
Love said she prepared for the role by recalling her first brush with the mall security that used to patrol the shopping centers in Detroit, where she grew up.
“Being a young kid, being silly with them,” she said, “but they do really play an important role and they really do have heart.”
Now that she’s wrapped filming, Love said she’s producing a new game show with Ellen DeGeneres.
“We’re still developing it,” she said, “but it’s based on an app that Ellen has out called ‘Heads Up.’ We did a couple test sets on it and we’re going to actually do it. We’re going to feature celebrities working with people to make them some money.”
For those of you hoping for a Breezy/Karrueche reunion, it doesn’t look like it’s happening… While both were in attendance at several of the same Coachella parties, witnesses claim their interaction was NIL!!!

And that’s exactly what happened with Karrueche Tan, 26, and Chris Brown, 25, at the star-studded NYLON’s Midnight Garden at the Coachella Music Festival on April 10. A partygoer spied Karrueche dancing provocatively in front of his private table — without ever looking at him or saying a word!
“It was a very awkward situation. Karrueche wouldn’t even look at Chris at the party,” a onlooker tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She was dancing with her pal Christina Milian, only yards away from him, showing exactly what he was missing out on. Karrueche looked really great, and she knew she would push Chris’ buttons by doing this. It was almost like she was dancing for him, but not even acknowledging he was there.”
But things apparently got worse from there, as the onlooker claims Chris saw what was going on and retaliated in kind!
“Chris was at a table, while she was parading herself on the dancefloor having a great time. Neither spoke with one another, but it was like there was an elephant in the room that couldn’t be addressed,” our source adds. “There was one cursory glance Chris gave, but you could tell he was mightily peeved that she didn’t come to him to say hello.”
Do you think the media is reading too much into all of this. We all know how it goes with an ex, and yeah there may be one or two run ins without speaking but all it takes is one good talk (or cuddle sesh) to work things out.
