A Mississippi man was left in critical condition earlier this month following a brutal attack by his racist stepson, who beat and shot the man when he learned that he was housing his bi-racial grandchildren.

A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a “hate crime.” This is a WLBT news exclusive.
Craig Wilson’s sister says Craig was brutally attacked by a relative for allowing his mixed race grandchildren to stay at his home over the weekend.
The family tells us his stepson, with his son, came to Wilson’s property screaming racist remarks at the family. The stepson, Jeff Daniels, and Craig Wilson allegedly got into a heated argument over his grandchildren. The family claims they threatened him, then beat him before shooting Wilson in the stomach. They classify the incident as a hate crime.
“Yes they called him some severe names and then they told him to leave and they chased him off his porch around his house and beat him with brass knuckles and shot him with his own gun,” said Julie Wilson, the victim’s sister.
The mother of the three children remains distraught that her father is fighting for his life. Laura Runnels said
“It’s just really hard to deal with right now,” said Runnels. Runnels is Wilson’s daughter. She is white. The father of the children is black. He declined to go on camera and talk with us.
According to the family, the threats to keep the mixed race grandchildren away have been ongoing, and two weeks ago the family found a cross burning in their yard.
Wilson says this is a hate crime, but the sheriff doesn’t agree.
The Sheriff says Jeff Daniels has been released on $20-thousand dollars bond. Daniels was charged with aggravated assault. The Sheriff says this is not a “hate crime” under state law. The investigation is ongoing.
This is disgusting and ridiculous. There’s NO WAY this animal should be free on bail and facing any lesser charge than attempted murder. SMH!

Beyonce’s daddy is just running his mouth this week. During a sit-down radio interview, he let everyone know he still runs the show as Detiny’s Child’s official manager, and might be throwing Beyonce and crew back up on stages across the world in the near future.

So fans of the Say My Name hit makers will be excited to hear that Mathew Knowles has hinted at a possible reunion of R&B divas Beyonce, 32, Kelly Rowland, 33 and Michelle Williams, 34.
The 63-year-old music executive spoke to the Roula And Ryan Show on Houston radio station 104.1 KRBE and said: ‘Folks don’t know it but I am still the manager of Destiny’s Child.‘When you see Destiny’s Child on TV and you see them doing songs together slowly, slowly – now they’ve done two, they were recently on TV – I don’t know, it might be another Destiny’s Child album coming.’
Although the group officially disbanded in 2006 and Kelly is currently expecting her first child with husband Tim Witherspoon, in June, Michelle quietly released Say Yes – a song which featured both Kelly and Beyonce.
Mathew continued: ‘There might be this tour that makes history, Destiny’s Child featuring Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle. Can you imagine what that would be like?’
Possibly…but we’re sure he could imagine the dollar signs associated with that much more clearly than he can see the fan experience.
Keen to know more but aware Mathew wouldn’t be able to reveal too much, Roula and Ryan asked him to ‘cough twice if that is happening in the next year’, which he did right away.
And although there have been rumours that the father and daughter are currently estranged. Mathew maintains they are still as close as ever.
He gushed: ‘She’s still just my girl. We talk every Sunday. She’s still the humble, generous person she’s always been.’
Mathew might just be holding on to a bit of wishful thinking with this one. Kelly is damn near crowning and he’s trying to book her on stages???
Besides…if Beyonce wasn’t trying to be bothered with him professionally as a solo artist all those years back, would she really have time for that now — especially considering how far she’s come without him??

A website titled “Pop A N****r” has surfaced online that allows visitors to play a game where they see how many Mike Brown targets they can shoot while playing as Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who gunned down an unarmed, 18-year-old Brown with six of 10 fired shots as he had his hands up in the air to represent a surrender.
Let’s continue to do all that we can to seek #JUSTICEFORMIKEBROWN and fight against racism in our country. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The NFL has come under fire for its lenient punishment of domestic abusers. Now, the Commissioner is looking to change things. Via DailyMail:
The National Football League has enacted stiffer punishments for any personnel who commit domestic violence.
In a letter to team owners, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said players, coaches and owners now face a six-game suspension for a first offense and a lifetime ban for a second.
Goodell said second-time offenders may petition for reinstatement after a year, but with no guarantees.
Harsher penalties could also be levied for offenders with incidents before joining the NFL or ‘violence involving a weapon, choking, repeated striking, or when the act is committed against a pregnant woman or in the presence of a child,’ the letter states.The NFL has been criticized for its inconsistent and often lax penalties for off-field offenses.
Ravens running back Ray Rice, for example, had to sit out just two games for hitting his now-wife Janay in an Atlantic City casino.In contrast, Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon had to stay out of the 2014 season and was banned for a full year for testing positive for marijuana.
In his letter, the commissioner admitted that he ‘didn’t get it right.’
‘We allowed our standards to fall below where they should be and lost an important opportunity to emphasize our strong stance on a critical issue and the effective programs we have in place,’ Goodell wrote.
‘My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families. I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values.’
The NFL Players Association said the union was informed of the new policies but didn’t have to approve it, as it’s a change in personal conduct policy, a source told USA Today Sports.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Christopher Buckner of Guyton and her half-brother, 25-year-old Timothy Savoy of Jackson have been arrested and charged with incest after they admitted to having sex.
The sheriff’s office says the two were caught in a semi-truck in a parking lot across from Effingham High School on Tuesday. Sheriff’s department spokesperson David Ehsanipoor says the two told deputies they had, “sex three times after watching the movie The Notebook.”
Both have been charged with incest, aggravated sodomy, and prowling.
Ah…”The Notebook” gets these hoes open every time. But seriously…these two rednecks couldn’t find any of their cousins to chop down instead??? Nasty.

Stevie claims his co-star, Althea Eaton, made up the story about Joseline smoking crack cocaine before attacking her last month at the reunion show. Althea is suing Joseline for assaulting her.
Stevie tells TMZ … the suit is BS because Althea and her husband, Benzino started the fight by talking crap in the first place. He claims Althea’s lawsuit is a smokescreen … to hide the fact Benzino slugged Joseline during the tussle.
Stevie says he and Joseline have lawyered up … and plan to countersue because “no grown man should hit a woman.”
We called Benzino who told us, “It’s clear that him and his whore jumped off the couch and attacked us and whatever happened from there was merely self-defense.”
Everyone is lawyer-ing up, supposedly. Who do you think has a better chance before the judge?

After spending the last few days behind bars, Jeezy has posted bail, MTV News has learned.
The rapper, along with five others, was arrested on Sunday in California on weapons charges. His bail was set at $1 million.
“All six men have posted bail and are currently being processed,” CTE’s Steve “Steve-O” Carless told MTV News Thursday evening (August 28). “They will be out shortly.”
The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Tuesday, after police claim to have found an AK-47 on his tour bus.
The Under the Influence tour stop was cancelled Sunday, which was two days after a 38-year-old man was killed backstage at a prior show in California on the tour.
Don’t start popping bottles and tossing confetti quite yet. Young Jizzle is due back before the judge on September 5, and there’s no telling what he or she may say…
What a shock…the police have a task force JUST to monitor rich Black men. SMH.

The NYPD’s “Hip-Hop Squad” has a number of rappers and stars — including Drake, Chris Brown and French Montana — on a special watch list and is stepping up surveillance on their New York parties in the wake of the Suge Knight shooting in LA, we’re told.
The shadowy specialist unit, known locally as the “Hip-Hop Police,” keeps a list of rappers and hip-hop stars whose shows and night club appearances are closely monitored. It also includes Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy, Fat Joe, Jim Jones and Lil Wayne.
A source told us: “All New York club owners are required to inform the Hip-Hop Police in advance if anyone on the watch list is coming in. They want to be there to monitor the crowd and in case any trouble starts.” The insider added, “They don’t want any situations like the Suge Knight shooting. If something does go down, they want to already be on the scene.”
Another source tells us the hip-hop cops are well-known in the urban music industry, and “if there is a show going on, they are there. Their job is to investigate crimes and curtail violence in the hip-hop industry. So when they find out there is a beef between rappers, they monitor it. They are plainclothes cops, they go to clubs and shows. They were at J.Lo’s show in The Bronx because French Montana and Fat Joe were coming.”
The source added that the hip-hop cops are welcomed by most in the business: “Let’s say there is a show… and they know there’s a beef going on that could escalate to a fight or shooting. The police may say they need to change set times and they don’t want two artists like French Montana and Jim Jones to perform too close together. Then they’ll go and watch. They’ll go backstage.”
Our spy elaborated, “It’s better to have them on hand. They’re not there to bother any of these artists, but make sure things run like they’re supposed to run. The other part of it is, there’s a lot of really street-leaning gangster guys on the fringes of the industry… The police task force keeps tabs on who is around certain rappers and what movements they are going through.”
We can see how they can try to rationalize this as being “for the greater good,” but what a slipery slope. What do you think? Is this necessary or just another excuse to keep closer tabs (and thus, make more arrests) on Black men?
