House Republicans Gear Up To Sue President Obama

House Republicans voted to proceed with a lawsuit against President Obama on Wednesday, saying that his executive actions are so extreme that they violate the Constitution.
The nearly party-line vote — all Democrats voted against it, and all but five Republicans voted for it — further agitated an already polarized climate on Capitol Hill as both parties used the pending suit to try to rally support ahead of the November elections.
Halfway across the continent, Obama almost gloated at the prospect of being sued.
“They’re going to sue me for taking executive actions to help people. So they’re mad I’m doing my job,” Obama said in an economics speech in Kansas City, Mo. “And by the way, I’ve told them I’d be happy to do it with you. The only reason I’m doing it on my own is because you’re not doing anything,” he said of Congress.
The lawsuit is the culmination of heightened conflict since Obama took office in 2009, particularly since Boehner became speaker more than three years ago. It is also unprecedented in its nature. Plenty of congressmen, of both parties, have filed lawsuits or briefs in support of suits against presidents. Generally, federal judges dismiss the cases because usually only those affected by the law had standing to file suit.
Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (N.Y.), the ranking Democrat on the Rules Committee, called it a “monumental waste of time, energy and funds” that was designed only to encourage conservative voters to back Republicans this fall.
“This is a political maneuver timed to peak as Americans are going to the polls in November for the midterm elections,” Slaughter said. “This lawsuit is the drumbeat pushing members of the Republican Party to impeachment.”
“Stop being mad all the time. Stop just hatin’ all the time,” Obama said at the Uptown Theater. “Everyone sees this as a political stunt, but it’s worse than that because every vote they’re taking . . . means a vote they’re not taking to help people.”
You’d think with 7 years of Obama having been in office, these racists Republicans would get over it and try to come to some practical solutions for our issues, rather than just whining, pulling stunts, and throwing up roadblocks to everything our President has to do.

On the inspiration behing “Hidden Colors 3: The Rules of Racism”:
The Trayvon Martin situation. When that verdict came through, I saw the way black people reacted to it, and I don’t think people were serious enough about the outcome and the ramifications of that. When the Trayvon Martin decision happened and black people didn’t act accordingly, that should have snapped everybody to attention. We kind of let that slide. That gave white supremacists a green light to go further, so now there are cops beating up black women, beating up more children, shooting more black people … We’ve seen Jim Crow racism come back. It’s Jim Crow 2.0, looped back around.
You can’t play games with systematic white supremacy. We have to be cognizant of the rules of racism.
On Eric Garner’s death:
We have to understand with the Eric Garner case that this is Jim Crow 2.0. We are literally back in the new Jim Crow era. People try to dismiss racism, because they’re not saying “ni**er go home.” They don’t have the signs. The racism and the white supremacy is still there — it’s just not written down anymore. That’s the only difference.
Eric Garner was lynched. That was nothing more than a lynching. You don’t have random lynch mobs running around like they used to in Jim Crow. The police are the lynch mobs now — they’re the designated lynch mobs. And they’re showing you they can kill a black person on camera, and possibly still get away with it.
They’re building their defense now, trying to say that he died of a heart attack, when we saw that the man was choked out. Black people have to be empowered enough to put politicians in place to get these rogue cops out of the system, to shut down these police forces that will support rogue cops and white supremacists.
This police officer has been known to make racialized arrests, he’s been sued a couple of times — a lot of people don’t know that. We have to pool together our finances to shut people like that down.

Woman Draws Gun On Cable Technician Over Unanticipated Fees
People are serious about their cable! Dealing with the cable company can certainly make you feel like pulling a weapon…but a fed-up Albuquerque woman decided to literally take matters into her own hands when one service provider didn’t deliver the service she felt she deserved. Via ABQjournal:
Unanticipated Comcast fees made one Albuquerque woman so angry she pulled a gun on a worker for the cable company, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court.
Gloria Baca-Lucero, 48, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Monday and booked into jail. She was released later that day.
Police say a Comcast serviceman went to do work in Baca-Lucero’s house near San Pedro and San Antonio in the Northeast Heights on Monday, according to the complaint. Baca-Lucero said she thought the work would be free, but the worker told her there would be a fee. She called customer service, and someone on that line also told her she had to pay.
The worker then told her if she didn’t sign for the fee he would leave. She refused to pay, and the worker told police as he was loading tools into his vehicle, Baca-Lucero grabbed one of his tool bags and took it inside her house.
When the worker went to get it, he said she told him he couldn’t have his tools back and pulled out a black handgun from her pocket, pointing at his torso, the complaint states.
The worker told police he put his hands up because he “didn’t want to get shot,” and left the property before calling 911.
Baca-Lucero told police he left the tools and she took them inside, and wouldn’t give them back to him when he returned. When the worker refused to leave, she pointed the gun in the air. He left, and she then also called police, the complaint states.
When police searched her home, they found a black Glock, along with a Glock magazine and 11 rounds. They also found the tool bag, according to the court document.
Messed up…but they really shouldn’t charge for repairs. Maybe they’ll consider a policy change now?

Ashanti’s “Thicker” Sister ‘Shia’ Talks About New Clothing Line For Big Bootied Girls [Video]
Shia Douglas and her business partner Sakara Burnes sat down with VladTV to discuss their clothing line Dymes Only, which they explain spawned from their friendship in high school. Shia details how she, fellow business partner Elisa Burton, and Sakara were the local “it girls” who were always rocking the flyest gear, and they started getting more buzz by throwing parties as The Pdees (Presidential Dymes).
The group launched their Pdees radio show and began developing a t-shirt line as a way to give guests something after the interview. Dymes business partner Elisa came up with a football jersey that was really well-received, and inspired their decision to go into clothing design.
Speaking more about the company, Shia says that despite being Ashanti’s younger sister, she’s paid her dues and is now confident as a clothing designer because she’s put in the work. She also adds that her Grammy-winning sis is really supportive of the Dymes Only movement and loves to get exclusive designs from the company

Eric Garner’s Death Ruled Homicide By Chokehold
According to NY Daily News reports:
The New York City Medical Examiner has determined that Eric Garner’s death as he was arrested by cops on Staten Island was a homicide by chokehold.
Garner, 43, died while being busted for allegedly selling untaxed cigarettes on Staten Island on July 17. Video obtained by the Daily News shows Officer Daniel Pantaleo putting Garner in a chokehold.
A spokeswoman for the medical examiner said Friday that Garner died from compression of the neck, which the office labeled a chokehold, and compression of the chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by cops.
The autopsy identified Garner’s asthma, obesity and hypertension as contributing factors in his death.
SMMFH… Time for some justice NYC. The NYPD has been getting away with MURDER for long enough. Daniel Pantaleo should be charged with this homicide and stripped of his badge forever.

A disgruntled Chicago man reportedly took his own life inside a Bank of America office building recently after opening fire on the CEO that demoted him.

A demoted executive shot and critically wounded his company’s CEO before fatally shooting himself Thursday inside a high-rise office building in downtown Chicago’s bustling financial district, police said.
The worker pulled a gun after entering the 17th-floor office to privately meet with the CEO, and during a struggle for the weapon, the CEO was shot in his head and abdomen, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said. The gunman then fatally shot himself.
“Apparently he was despondent over the fact that he got demoted,” McCarthy said, adding that the alleged shooter was among “a number of people” being demoted as the company downsized.
Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago confirmed that a man named Steven Lavoie was in critical condition in the hospital, but declined to elaborate. Police said the victim of the shooting was taken to Northwestern, but messages left with police and ArrowStream were not returned Thursday.
According to ArrowStream’s website, LaVoie founded the company in 2000, and DeFrances joined the next year and was currently its chief technology officer. Both men are listed as married with three children.
Corporate thuggin’ gone terribly wrong. SMH.
