Jhené Aiko’s New Short Film Will Make You Emotional
‘Trip’ is Jhené Aiko’s new 23-minute short film, said to be a semi-autobiographical exploration of “love, loss, and self-discovery,” also featuring original poetry from Aiko. The film was written by Jhené herself, along with the film’s director Tracy Oliver–who’s known most recently for her work in the ever-popular Girl’s Trip.
In the film, Jhené stars as Penny, who sparks a romantic relationship before having proper time to grieve over the loss of her brother. Penny says in the film, “I am looking for a brother’s love in every single man. But you’ll never see me like my brother did, you’ll never need me like a brother did. There’s a black hole in my soul. It’s beginning to show.”
‘Trip’ is a journey of self-discovery led by drugs, loss, and love. The mini movie is currently available to stream for free via YouTube, but fans can purchase it for $4 through her newly-launched website, JheneIsPenny.com.

Britany Renner’s New Video Sparks Controversy
Fitness guru/Insta-baddie Brittany Renner is raising eyebrows for a video she posted of her social media shenanigans. Renner took to Twitter and IG with a video about her single status titled “Am I Good Enough For You Yet?”
“I think I know why I’m single,” said Renner as she put makeup all over her face. “My edges, they just won’t stay down. […] I’m probably single because I have no f*** sense of style.”
People are now wondering if her rumored boo Lil Uzi Vert [who she was spotted tonguing down] has influenced her.

HBCU Grads Star In New Aspire Show Set In Atlanta
Atlanta provides the setting for another new black show…
Aspire (@tvASPiRE), the network that reflects, shares and celebrates the experiences of black culture and urban lifestyle, announced today that it will launch a new season of the web series “The Graduates.” “The Graduates ATL” will premiere inside the network’s coverage of HBCU football games while also rolling out online. The eight-part series will launch Saturday, September 30, during halftime of the Miles College versus Alabama State University game at 6 p.m. ET. Webisodes will be available on http://www.aspire.tv the same day they premiere on air.
Moving south from New York City, “The Graduates ATL” is a web series that follows six driven HBCU graduates as they follow their passions and build their careers in Atlanta. In this season, we will see how these graduates adjust to life in the real world – in their jobs, friendships and relationships – as they try to stay true to and achieve their dreams. We will see aspiring moguls, entrepreneurs and executives as they pursue their passion in various competitive industries.
“HBCUs are a fabric of black culture and the cornerstone of black history. We are proud to share the experiences and lives of HBCU graduates in another metropolitan city,” said Melissa Ingram, vice president, channel manager, Aspire. “Building on the success of ‘The Graduates NYC’, we are excited to introduce our viewers to an Atlanta cast made up of big personalities and diverse voices that are all making their mark on the city with their unique stories.”

Tiny Harris saw that petty spat between her estranged husband and a talk show host and she’s got something to say. The Xscape songstress recently appeared on V-103’s Ryan Cameron Morning Show With Wanda Smith alongside her bandmates.
While there, she was asked to speak on the brief feud between Tip and Wendy Williams who blasted him for wearing “lifts” in shoes to help his short stature after he spoke on her bikini photos.
According to Tiny, there’s simply no reason for Tip to try to be taller because he already “thinks he’s the man.”
“No, the man doesn’t really care about being tall. He is who he is…I’ve never seen it. I’ve been with the man for 16 years. He must be hiding them from me.”
“He think he the man,” she added. “He don’t care if he’s this height or this height.”
Tiny and Xscape will appear on Wendy Williams Friday ahead of their tour and Tiny’s adamant that she wants no part of the T.I. VS Wendy beef.
“I just want you to leave me out of it,” said Tiny. “I have nothing to do with it, but just leave me out of it. Leave me out of it. I’m not in it.”

Cardi B Says NYPD Officers Choked Her Out For No Reason, But Cops Say That’s A Lie
Cardi B Says NY Cop Put Her In A Choke Hold
Cardi B let her fans know earlier this week that an NYC officer had manhandled her during what should have been a routine traffic situation.
The rapper says she and a cousin got into a fender bender in NYC’s Columbus Circle during rush hour on Tuesday. She claims a driver slammed into her new orange Bentley truck. Being Bronx chicks, they, of course, hopped out of the vehicle and began arguing with the other driver.
That’s when cops pulled up, and according to Cardi, put her in a chokehold and slammed her against her own vehicle. She says he let her go once things calmed down, but didn’t bother taking an accident report or writing any tickets.
However the police, of course, say nothing like that happened. NYPD Assistant Commissioner Peter Donald tells TMZ that the precinct conducted a “full investigation” into Cardi’s claims, and can’t come up with any proof whatsoever that one of their boys in blue laid a hand on Cardi.
He says they’ve checked all surveillance video in the area and spoken to their officers…and aren’t coming up with anything. To top it all off, Cardi isn’t taking any legal action over the incident and refuses to come forward to police or the press with any further details.
We don’t doubt that her story has some merit. But seeing how she’s been known to get when she’s upset…
Maybe she’s keeping her lips sealed because she got off easy. Who knows?

Aaron Hernandez Diagnosed With CTE, Fiancee Sues NFL
Aaron Hernandez has been found to have had an extreme case of CTE, researchers told ESPN on Thursday.
CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, is a degenerative brain disease that can only be diagnosed after death. The disorder is typically found in deceased football players, military members, boxers, and anyone else who suffers repeated head trauma over the course of their lives/careers. Henandez’ lawyer told reporters “it was the most severe case they had ever seen for someone of Aaron’s age.”
He says Hernandez had shown signs of aggression, memory loss, and impulsivity, easily associated with the condition. As such, he, on behalf of Hernandez’ fiancee Shayanna Jenkins, has placed a lawsuit against the NFL and the New England Patriots for not disclosing the true dangers of playing the sport professionally.
The league recently settled a class action suit by a number of retired players, agreeing to pay $1 billion to ex-players who also felt misled about the dangers of the sport, and began making payments this summer. So this case isn’t unfounded by any means.
Hernandez was found to be stage 3 in the disease (out of only 4 possible), and was only 27 years old when he took his own life inside his prison cell.

Singer Fergie has been keeping herself hella busy after dropping a new album recently. Probably trying not to think about her recent split from her husband of 8 years, Josh Duhamel. Although, Fergalicious never detailed the reason, she and her actor ex release a joint statement asking for privacy while they adjust to their new, coparenting routine.
“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
Reportedly, a source close to the former couple and parents to 5-year-old son Axl told RadarOnline.com exclusively that Fergie’s choice not to have an second seed was what caused the end of her marriage. Fergie choosing to work instead chasing around a bunch of kiddies caused the union to crash. Radar also says, Josh wants a bunch of kids and mentioned to Fergie it was a “deal breaker” of she wasn’t ready to pop out a few siblings for their 5-year-old.
Fergie refused.
In related news, Fergie performed at an event in NYC last night and referred to her album Double Duthess as her “second baby.”
