Over the weekend, reality personality and RnB singer Dave Dees celebrated the release of his new single “Jokes On YOU” in Atlanta.  The “Dating Naked” star released a sexy tune with a touch of 90s RnB flavor.  We were able to chat with Dave and a closer look into where he comes from and what’s next.  Check out “Jokes On YOU” below, and more info on the young Ohio vocalist and let us know what you think!

BOSSIP: Where are you from?

Dave Dees: I’m from Dayton, Ohio but played basketball at both Liberty University and Louisiana Lafayette. Now I live in Atlanta, so I’ve been all over the country.

BOSSIP: How long have you been singing?

D: I’ve been singing since I was a child. Music helped me cultivate my imagination.

B: Why now, for your project?

D: Now because it’s ready, I’m ready. It was a great learning experience for me.

B: What was it like starring on “Dating Naked?”

D: It was one of the most awkward experiences of my life, initially, then I tried to make the very best out of it.

B: What do most people who saw you on the show say?

D: Most people congratulate me or ask “what was it like being naked? etc etc”. A lot of times, people will look at me with the “I recognize you” face and I give them the “I don’t know what you’re talking about face”, then I try to get out of there before they realize where they know me from and ask “What was it like being naked on tv?”

B: “Dating Naked” has since been canceled, are you surprised?

D: I’m not surprised it was canceled. I think in today’s society EVERYTHING is a fad and gets old quickly. There was an initial “shock factor” to Dating Naked that I think is gone now, and people are looking for whatever the next fad is.

B: Who would you collaborate with?

D: I love to write. Lyrics and melodies come pretty natural to me, and to have the opportunity to write for some of today’s artists would be a dream come true for me! I wrote, arranged, and sang the entire project I’m about to release, and it’s been A LOT of work, but I’m proud of what I’m about to give the people!

Puerto Rican Princess Joseline Hernandez celebrated her birthday with a litty day party at Gold Room hosted by the gorgeous Clermont twins and Grammy-winning boo Stevie J. “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” cameras were on the scene to capture her sizzling dance performance and exclusive video release.

The red carpet was bursting with good vibes and support from “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” cast member Melissa, Stevie J’s sons Dorian and Stevie Jr. along with nephews Vega Sills and Vee Johnson.

Actors Johnell Young (who plays “Ray Love” in All Eyez On Me) and Stefon Washington (who plays “Puff Daddy”) alongside Rap artist Kore Stacks graced the carpet with flicks and exclusive interviews.

Joseline’s extravagant glow-in-the-dark cake display featuring delicious cake pops, cupcakes, tea candles and iced roses was designed by “The Cake Artist” (@iced_out_cakesatl). Guests also enjoyed a photo booth provided by Photo Buzz Booth (@photobuzzbooth).

Jennifer Wiliams Returns To “Basketball Wives”

Jennifer Williams is getting a full-time gig back on her old show and her ex-bestie might be pissed. The former “Basketball Wives” star is reportedly coming back FULL time to the VH1 program and she’s already started filming.

According to theJasmineBRAND, producers want to create a storyline about Jennifer and Evelyn’s beef and eventually have Jennifer confront Evelyn.

As previously reported Jennifer believes that Evelyn blocked her initial return to the show because they’re no longer besties. Jenn told interview with Bijou Star of Cleveland’s Z 107.9 that she was in talks with producers to come back, but those talks eventually lapsed.
WELP! Looks like the cast of “Basketball Wives” L.A. should be brimming with drama. Malayasia Pargo and “fired” Brandi Maxiell are both back alongside newbies Aja Metoyer and Keanna Green.

Project #ShareConservation Partners Original Penguin with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to Raise Funding and Awareness for Penguins and All Wildlife

Today, in honor of World Penguin Day, Original Penguin launches the second iteration of its Project #ShareConservation program with a video starring actor and comedian Lamorne Morris. Each time the video is liked or shared on Facebook, Original Penguin will donate $1 to the global conservation organization International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to help African penguins and other animals worldwide.

The Project #ShareConservation video, voiced by Lamorne Morris, follows the story of a penguin on a quest to meet and woo the penguin of his dreams. The video addresses the natural and human threats that penguins face, which have contributed to the rapid decline in the numbers of African penguins and other coastal birds. Original Penguin and IFAW are working in collaboration with the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) to combat these threats. The goal is to raise awareness and funding to help protect African penguins and all wildlife.

“We’re thrilled to partner with IFAW to continue our Project #ShareConservation program to help save penguins and other wild animals,” said Kristin DiCunzolo, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Original Penguin. “We’re excited to offer Original Penguin customers a chance to contribute to the effort by donating, sharing the video and purchasing our limited-edition Project #ShareConservation products.”

Stephen Belafonte Gets Visitation Of Daughter With Mel B

In addition to racks and racks of spousal support, Stephen Belafonte petitioned the judge in his divorce proceedings from “Scary Spice” Mel B to get joint custody of not only his own daughter with Mel B, but her daughter with Eddie Murphy as well.

As you know, Stephen and Mel started dating while she was 5 months pregnant with Eddie Murphy’s daughter Angel, and the two got married just a month after she was born. As such, and with Eddie’s own spotty involvement in his daughter’s life, Stephen has been the only father she’s ever truly known.

However, he’s also on the hook for years of physical and emotional abuse and intimidation of Mel B, so that complicates things — especially since there’s a standing restraining order to keep him away from her and all her daughters.

Well, a judge granted Stephen visitation under VERY strict supervision — but only for his own daughter, 5-year-old Madison. As far as 10-year-old Angel Murphy Brown…the judge says he needs to keep his distance.

Welp! It seemed like a stretch request anyway with all the abuse and sex extortion allegations floating around…

DJ Esco Belvedere x Noisey Party

Stars and festival-goers descended on the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs Friday night to catch Weekend 2’s biggest party. “Belvedere x Noisey: Behind the Scene” is an experiential program by Belvedere Vodka and Vice’s music channel Noisey, spotlighting the hottest music scenes, breakthrough artists, and what’s to come for the industry…and during Coachella’s encore weekend, they highlighted DJ Esco, alongside DJ Noodles and DJ Sean G.

Model Chanel Iman was spotted on the scene rocking a crochet Roberto Cavalli sweater and black leather fringe shorts in true Coachella fashion.

And Esco held a dance-off with “himself” while guests sipped on signature cocktails by Belvedere:

Aretha Franklin To Dionne Warwick: “IDFWU”

It’s no secret that long before “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” was a hook, Aretha Franklin has been demanding the world put some respect on her name, so should we really be surprised that she’s still holding a grudge against Dionne Warwick over comments she made at Whitney Houston’s funeral FIVE YEARS AGO. Mind you, Aretha wasn’t even there!

Page Six reports:

“She blatantly lied on me . . . fully well knowing what she was doing,” Franklin said Tuesday.

Franklin’s comments follow a long detailed fax she sent to the media about her 76-year-old peer, claiming Warwick called out her absence during Nippy’s funeral by “introducing” her.

“Ree’s not here, but she is here,” Warwick said. “She loves Whitney as if she were born to her. She is her godmother.”

Apparently, that was shade, because Franklin didn’t attend the funeral. Meanwhile, Whitney’s mom Cissy Houston has confirmed that Aretha is not actually Whitney’s godmother and Aretha says she missed the memorial partly because she had swollen feet. She did manage to perform the night of the event at Radio City Music Hall, but says she opted to skip Houston’s funeral due to all the drama surrounding the event.

“There’s been so much going on around her [Houston], around the service, around the drugs, around her and [Whitney’s ex-husband] Bobby [Brown] . . . I didn’t want to add anything to that,” she said.

All this old biddy beef is now public thanks to Warwick’s attempts to put the diva’s differences behind them by greeting her at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“She said, ‘Give me a hug,’ ” Aretha recalled. “I said, ‘Oh hell no. You couldn’t be serious.’  We’ve never been friends and I don’t think that Dionne has ever liked me.”

Meanwhile, Warwick’s rep released a statement saying she would not “dignify a response” to Aretha’s remarks.

Sheesh. Talk about crotchety! We’re gonna “Say A Little Prayer” for Dionne that Aretha finds some forgiveness in her heart!

Get Well: Kim Zolciak’s Son Mauled By Dog And Hospitalized

Kim Zolciak says her precious 4-year-old son suffered traumatic injuries after being attacked by a dog. She says the whole ordeal has been a “living nightmare”, while Kash, 4,  laid in a hospital bed. Kim let fans on Instagram know that she was canceling her appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” this week to tend to her family.

A day after her Instagram post, Kim said Kash was healthy enough to head home after his hospital stay. She acknowledged her husband Troy for rushing, with conditin in his hair to be with their son. Clearly, Troy was as scared as any father would be hearing their kid was attacked viciously by an animal.  He got their as fast as her could.

Mary J. Blige’s Protege Was Kendu Isaacs’ Side Piece

If you’ll recall, court papers surfaced last week that allege that Kendu Isaacs took over $400,000 from Mary’s account to spend on lavish vacations and gifts for a woman he was keeping on the side.

Now, sources reveal that the side piece in question is a woman that was very close to Mary. In fact, she’s someone that Mary took under her wing and tried to propel in the music industry.

Rumor has it that Kendu’s mistress was 28-year-old up-and-coming singer, Starshell. Mary not only signed her to her Matriarch Entertainment record label, but had her open for her on tour and took her along on many red carpets and appearances. In return…Starshell allegedly carried on an affair with Mary’s husband and accepted hundreds of thousands worth of side chick prizes paid for with Mary’s cash.

According to Page Six, sources say that everyone in Mary and Kendu’s circle knew the deal…yet Mary somehow remained blind to the obvious.

“Everyone knew. Mary was the last to know, but it’s like, how do you not know?

It’s really f – – ked up and low to have it done to her that way. Had it not been for Mary signing her, investing time and money . . . Because no one cared about her music.”

Another source said Mary had suspicions…but seemed to brush them off.

“It was more like one of those things where you end up believing what you want to believe. But Mary had her suspicions.”

Man, Mary has all KINDS of shadiness in her circle! The fact that “everyone” knew and no one spoke up…SMH!!!

Man Claims R. Kelly Had An Affair With His Wife

One Mississippi cop is fed up with R. Kelly smashing his wife behind his back — allegedly — and is taking the crooner to court to put a stop to it once and for all.

Deputy Kenny Bryant has filed official docs claiming that he has suffered “emotional, psychological and financial loss” at Kelly’s hands since the man has been sleeping with his wife, Asia Childress, for the last five years.

According to Page Six, Kenny claims that Asia confessed that she had a sexual encounter with R. Kelly back in 2012, just before their wedding that July. He believes that Asia and Kells linked up once again that October after she attended one of his concerts, and began a full-on sexual relationship from that point forward.

Kenny says that Asia convinced him to quit his career as a county sheriff’s deputy and move the couple to Atlanta. Even though she told him it would likely lead to better opportunities in an Atlanta metro area PD, he believes it was really so that she could more easily access R. Kelly to continue their affair.

Kenny says that Asia also frequently traveled out of state to R. Kelly shows to rendezvous with the Pied Piper. He ALSO claims that Asia contracted chlamydia from R. Kelly around the time they re-sparked their sexual liaisons.

DAMN. Now, how exactly he feels like this entitles him to money from R. Kelly…we aren’t quite sure. Spouses cheat every day…and while it’s definitely WRONG, it’s not exactly illegal. If anything, he needs to be taking his wife to divorce court and running her pockets, provided any of this is factual.

The 2017 Cali Picnic Takes Over ATL

The 23rd annual Cali Picnic came thru and crushed the A-Town buildings YET AGAIN with a free concert headlined by YG, easy breezy Cali vibes, food trucks and games at Morris Brown’s Westurn Union in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

Thousands gathered for the fun-filled block pordy organized in the early ’90s by college students who simply wanted a day of fun to curb finals anxiety. And it did, while evolving into one of ATL’s longest running annual events that’s only getting bigger and better.

Aaron Hernandez’ Suicide Letter Was Not Addressed To A Prison Lover

Rumors have been swirling around for the last few days that Aaron Hernandez had a boyfriend in prison, and addressed one of three suicide notes to his lover just before hanging himself to death last week.

But it’s looking like that one’s a fairy tale.

Aaron’s lawyer already vehemently denied that there was any truth to the “love note” rumor, and now we may know why. Sources tell TMZ that the third note in question actually wasn’t addressed to an inmate at all.

Instead, it was written to his lawyer, Jose Baez.

The sources claim that Hernandez didn’t leave any kind of message at all for any other inmate. They back up Baez’ claims that the whole “prison lover” rumor was just a vicious lie meant to further tarnish Hernandez’ name after death.

No one has actually seen what these letters say, so how the information got out that the last note was some sort of love letter to a man he was sleeping with in prison is completely unclear.

But of course, folks will hear things like that and run with them — especially since it’s seen as “common” to take on prison boos when faced with a life-long sentence.

Delta Boots Passenger Over Using The Restroom

These airlines are just wilding out these days, aren’t they? Now, they’re booting passengers for using the restroom facilities…

The latest incident occurred on April 18th, as 39-year-old Kima Hamilton sat aboard Delta Flight 2035 from Atlanta to Milwaukee. The plane was third in line en route taxiing to takeoff, however the process drew on to about 30 minutes on the runway waiting.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, sensing a near-urgent need to use the restroom, Kima got up, went to the back of the plane near the restroom and asked the flight attendant there if he could quickly pop in to use the lavatory.

The flight attendant told him that if he did, they’d lose their place in line to takeoff, so Kima sat back down to wait. However, the plane only continued to sit still.

After some time passed and Hamilton’s urge to use the restroom grew into an emergency, he got up, went to the restroom, and was back in his seat within one minute as witnesses recall. But as he was buckling his belt, he heard an announcement from the captain:

‘Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry for the inconvenience but we have to return to the gate and remove a passenger.’

Here’s what happened next, as caught by an outraged passenger who witnessed the whole thing:

Of course, rather than an apology or anything like that…Delta issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“Our flight crews are extensively trained to ensure the safety and security of all customers. It is imperative that passengers comply with crew instructions during all phases of flight, especially at the critical points of takeoff and landing.”

Fair enough…but when takeoff is taking all day, at what point are people allowed to handle their natural needs? And why does that warrant all of this DRAMA?
