Will you be playing the huge Powerball drawing this weekend? According to NJ News, this is one of the biggest jackpots in US history!
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot will be among the top 10 lottery prizes in U.S. history after an 18th consecutive drawing was held Wednesday without anyone winning the top prize.
That pushes the jackpot for this weekend to $415 million, with a cash option of $269.7 million. If the jackpot isn’t bumped by Saturday, it will be the ninth largest U.S. lottery drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 30, 47, 57, 66 and 69. The Powerball was 3 and the Powerplay was 3x.
Four tickets purchased in New Jersey matched four numbers plus the Powerball and are worth $50,000 each. State lottery officials will announce where those tickets were bought later Thursday.
Nobody spent an extra $1 to exercise the Powerplay option, which would have tripled their prize.
The odds of matching four numbers and the Powerball on a $2 ticket are about 913,129 to 1.

I have known my best friend since were in elementary school, and now we are both in our early 30s.
So, naturally, we have been through a lot and talk to each other about everything. I met a guy on my birthday last year. We talked for like almost two months and then I moved to another city to start law school. But, in December, we started talking again and in January we became official.
Recently, my friend not only told me that she has a crush on my boyfriend, but she has repeatedly asked me for his number. After that happened I have been kind of keeping my distance. I don’t know how to proceed with our friendship because I feel like she doesn’t respect my relationship and that she would try to sleep with my boyfriend if she was anywhere near him. My cousin said I should respect that she came to me instead of going behind my back. I guess she has a point, but I still feel some kind of way. I don’t want her to feel like I’m picking a man over her, but seeing how she is blatant with her attraction to my man should I just keep my life with them separate, or continue to keep my distance like I have been doing? – Confused About What To Do
Dear Ms. Confused About What To Do,
Well, if your best friend is crushing over your man, and she knows that you and he are together, and she’s asking you for his number and telling you that she is attracted to him, then she is not your friend. What best friend do you know will disrespect your relationship by coming right out and asking for your man’s number and telling you she has a crush on him knowing that you’re in a relationship with him? That is some bold ass –ish!
Now, see, at first you may think she is joking, and punking you. “Girl, stop playing. I know he’s fine, and he’s a good catch. Glad you recognize.” But, for her to do this over and over again, the next words out of your mouth should be, “I’m going to need for you to back it up. Quit playing with me, and stay in your lane. This is my relationship, and he is off limits, and if you can’t respect this, us, and me, then, yes, I will cut you off.” And, no, you’re not picking a man over her, you’re just recognizing that your best friend doesn’t have any boundaries, and she is showing you her true colors – she will sleep with your man and feel it okay. Squash this today and put her in her place.
Yeah, your cousin may have a point that you should respect that she came to you and told you instead of going behind your back, but now you know who your enemy is, and now you know that you can’t trust your friend. So, hell to the no, you don’t bring them around each other, don’t invite your friend on dates with you, or to gatherings, or anywhere or anyplace where you and your man will be. She will slip her number to him, fawn all over him, and throw herself on him and she will do this right in your face, and be unbothered by it. That’s how bold she is because she is bold enough to ask you for his number, and bold enough to tell you that she is crushing on your man. No, you don’t trust her, and quite frankly you need to confront her instead of avoiding her.
Yup, confront her. Instead of avoiding her, you need to call her out and have a serious conversation with her about her inappropriate behavior, and soliciting you for your man’s number. You did state that you’ve been best friends since you were younger, and you’re now in your 30s, so I don’t understand why you can’t talk with your best friend and be frank and honest with her. Tell her how you don’t appreciate her coming to you asking for your man’s number, and that you don’t find it cute or appropriate that she is crushing on him and that she feels it okay to tell you these things and not think you will feel a way about it, or confront her about it. Girl code rule #1 is that you don’t go after your best friend’s man. You don’t flirt, ask for his number, socialize with him alone, attempt to date him or give googly eyes. And, nor do you even look at him romantically giving any indication that you are interested. He is off limits, period point blank.
Now, the fact that she is violating girl code rule #1 should let you know that doesn’t respect you or your relationship. She should know better. But, obviously it doesn’t matter to her, and she is going to get what she wants, and she is going to do it regardless of whether you like it or not. So, again, confront her, have a serious conversation with her, and express how it makes you feel that your best friend is disrespecting your relationship. Tell her that she is overstepping her boundaries, and her behavior makes you uncomfortable, and quite frankly you are starting to second guess your friendship. If she can do this to her own best friend, then you can only imagine what she would do to any other woman she is not friends with. – Terrance Dean

President Obama commuted the prison sentences of 58 inmates serving in federal prisons who have been convicted of drug crimes, just after commuting the sentences of 61 other inmates according to CBS News:
The inmates were convicted of drug-related crimes such as possessing and intending to distribute cocaine or methamphetamine. Eighteen of the people receiving commutations were sentenced to life in prison.
Their sentences are set to expire on Thursday or on September 2.
This comes only about a month after the president commuted the sentences of 61 people who were convicted of similar crimes. Most of that group will be released from prison at the end of July.
Mr. Obama has commuted more prison sentences than the past six presidents combined. He has commuted the sentences of 306 people while George W. Bush commuted 11 and Clinton commuted 61. At the same time, Obama has only pardoned 70 people, the fewest of any president since President James A. Garfield in the early 1880s.
President Obama is getting a lot done as his presidency continues to wind down….

A Florida man is facing theft charges after he attempted to steal a snake from a pet store in St. Petersburg this week according to WFLA reports:
Pinellas County deputies said Travis Treder went into Animal House Pet Center, located at 950 34th St. N, and put a baby python down his left front pocket.
Chaos erupted at the pet store as employees tried to stop him. “He’s been in twice before over the past nine months and we didn’t realize he stole anything until after the fact,” store owner Steve Silk said.
Surveillance video shows the suspect grab the snake from its enclosure and put it in his pants. Silk then confronts him.
“We waited on him for probably 15 minutes and then we went into the office to see what he was going to do, and sure enough, he targeted our higher-end snakes again,” Silk said. Silk also said Treder has stolen snakes and lizards on two separate occasions in the last nine months.
They’ve been on the lookout for him since. “This time we printed out pictures of him and put it behind our register,” Silk said.
Employees blocked the front entrance. A customer, who just so happened to be a security guard, jumped in to help.

A judge said that insurers in litigation with Penn State claim a boy told football coach Joe Paterno in 1976 that he had been molested by Jerry Sandusky, Pennlive.com reported Thursday.
The order by Philadelphia Judge Gary Glazer also cited reports by unnamed assistant coaches they witnessed inappropriate contact between Sandusky and children, Pennlive.com said.
Glazer wrote in a decision on insurance coverage for Sandusky-related claims there was “no evidence that reports of these incidents ever went further up the chain of command at PSU.”
Sandusky is serving decades in prison for sexual abuse of 10 boys, for incidents that went back to the 1990s. Concrete evidence of earlier allegations had not previously come to light, even though Sandusky was convicted of abusing children he met through the children’s charity he founded in 1977.
When the charges against Sandusky first came to light, Paterno had no knowledge of such accusations…
“I do not know of anything else that Jerry would be involved in of that nature, no. I do not know of it,” Paterno testified 10 months before Sandusky was first charged, along with two university administrators accused of covering up complaints about him.
Also…
Paterno also told The Washington Post in 2011 he knew nothing about a 1998 police investigation into a mother’s complaint about Sandusky showering with her son.
“You know it wasn’t like it was something everybody in the building knew about,” Paterno told the paper. “Nobody knew about it.”
Hate to slander a dead man, but it looks like Joe Paterno might have been lyin’ like a muhfugga.

An Ohio teen recently decided to take his mom to prom and helped share her incredible story of survial in the process. According to WATE reports, the mom had an hard life and could never attend her own prom.
Trey Potter said he wanted to show his mother, MelissaRoshan (MelRo) Potter, how much he admires her after everything she’s been through in her life.
MelRo Potter grew up living in 23 different foster care homes. She ended up pregnant and homeless at 16.
“My mother was raped when she was 13 and I am the product from that rape. And as a result I lived in the foster care system and didn’t hear any positive reinforcements that I was valuable or worthy,” mother MelRo Potter said.
MelRo was abused in some of the foster homes, but fought through the pain and raised her son alone. She was later discovered as a model and landed several magazine covers.
“When I was pregnant with him well, I heard, ‘Mel because you lived in the foster care system, you’re probably not going to raise a thriving individual. It just doesn’t happen. You can’t give him what you don’t have.’ So seeing who he has become and knowing the sacrifices that have been made and how much I love him and seeing that come to fruition, I’ve proved him wrong,” Potter said.
