Actress Kerry Washington says she believes that the Clarence Thomas hearings with Anita Hill would have turned out a lot different if the infamous woman was not Black reports ABC News:
“I think race was a part of it,” the actor said. “It may have even changed the course of the confirmation hearing. I think that element of race is always there. And had the race of the plaintiff been a white woman it may have even been more damaging to the Justice.”
At the start of the film, then Senator Joe Biden asks an aide, after hearing about Hill’s accusations, “Can we just let it go?”
Although she believes Vice President Biden has come a long way in empathizing with women’s issues, Washington, who is also an Executive Producer on the film, said his question has become a refrain for issues of “disenfranchised communities.”

Ian Connor, credited with styling Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky and more, is being accused of rape by a woman who says the scene kid also gave her gonorrhea.
Malika Anderson claims in a blog post that she was rapped by the 22-year-old hip-hop stylist in 2014 and is now talking about it because her case was closed due to lack of enough evidence.
On October 5th 2014, I was raped by Ian Connor. Everyone always wants a name and a face and oh who did he rape and blah blah, well here I am. *One* of the many that he raped was me. Oh yeah that’s right, he’s a serial rapist. I am not the only one. I’m just one of the only one’s who is telling my story. In short, he is a predator. He seeks out girls on social media that he can try to “woo” or whatever and then try to f*ck and if they say no, well he takes it.
How they met:
One day in spring of 2014, I tweeted “who is Ian Connor?” because I kept seeing his name everywhere but I literally had no clue who the kid was. Now we all know he searches his name, like any egomaniac would, so naturally he replied. A few months later he followed me and I followed back, still not knowing much about him.
The fact that he followed me after a few months should’ve let me know he was weird because apparently he had been watching me for all that time I assume. I don’t know. But to continue, after I followed him back, he dm’d me. We talked for a little he asked for my number and I was like yeah sure whatever. I was just curious because his name was everywhere so I was like okay let’s see what this n*gga is about.
On the alleged rape:
The 3rd and last time we hung out I hit him up. He came to my crib in the morning and I figured we would just talk and chill per usual… But that isn’t what happened. We were sitting on my bed, just talking. and he asked if he could eat me out. I declined. And I told him I wasn’t trying to have sex. So he’s like okay. Then he asked again if he could eat me out. I said no again and he just kept asking. He was literally begging to eat me out and he said “we don’t gotta fuck, I just wanna eat it. I wanna eat your soul out girl” blah blah. And I was just like “nah I’m good” but he kept begging. Eventually, I gave in. I said “fine you can give me head”. Then he said “lemme eat it from the back”.
So I layed on my stomach and pulled my pants down about halfway, the rest of my clothes were still on. He was fully clothed. He started to give me head. About 2 minutes later I felt his bare penis thrust inside of me. I was shocked and didn’t know what to do and then I pushed him off of me and I was like wtf. And he says “your puzzy is wavy. We should’ve did this a long time ago. We could’ve been dating” and I said “wtf I told you I didn’t want to have sex and you just did it…” And he says “so you tryna say I raped you” and at the time I hadn’t even processed what had just happened and I was like “I don’t know”. After that he left and said he was gonna text me.
Malika says she got tested the next day and was diagnosed with gonorrhea. She did eventually file a police report but the lack of concrete evidence got her case close.

Pope Francis Calls For Catholic Church To Be More Tolerant
Pope Francis will go down as one of the most progressive popes of all-time.
Per CNN:
Pope Francis put his shoulder to the doors of the Catholic Church and shoved them open a little wider Friday, calling for the church to be more tolerant in practice while not changing any official doctrines.
He urged priests around the world to be more accepting of gays and lesbians, divorced Catholics and other people living in what the church considers “irregular” situations.
“A pastor cannot feel that it is enough simply to apply moral laws … as if they were stones to throw at people’s lives,” Francis writes in a sweeping paper outlining his stance on family matters.
He urges more common sense and less unthinking following of rules.“By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth,” he writes.
He emphasizes that “unjust discrimination” against gays and lesbians is unacceptable, downplays the idea of “living in sin” and suggests that priests should use their own discretion on whether divorced Catholics in new marriages can take Communion.

Former Republican House Speaker Reportedly Molested Boys And Paid Millions In Hush Money
Dennis Hastert Reportedly Molested Five Boys
Per CNN:
Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert sexually abused at least four boys when he worked as a wrestling coach at a high school in Illinois decades ago, federal prosecutors said.
In documents released Friday, prosecutors detailed stunning allegations against Hastert, the longest-running Republican speaker of the House.
The revelation comes days before his April 27 sentencing in a financial violation case. He pleaded guilty last year to structuring money transactions to evade reporting where he took massive amounts of funds he was withdrawing.
Investigators said the transactions involved $3.5 million he paid in hush money to one of his accusers.
Prosecutors listed four boys Hastert allegedly abused when he coached at a high school in Yorkville, Illinois.
An additional one — a fifth student — died years after the abuse, according to the document.The accusations came to light after investigators found out he was paying an ex-student to stay quiet about sexual abuse allegations, prosecutors allege. The student was among four others who told investigators he abused them, including one who was 14 at the time, the documents allege.
The allegations date to the 1960s and 1970s, according to the prosecutors’ court filing. Hastert will not face sexual abuse charges because the statutes of limitation have expired.

The nine-second video posted on Twitter appears to show Mary Hastings, a teacher at Ozen High School in Beaumont, striking a student five times while yelling at him about a disruption, calling him an “idiot ass.” It was not clear exactly what preceded the action.
Hastings then appears to mock the student’s crying following the repeated hits.
She was arrested on one charge of assault and released on bail, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The school said it placed her on administrative leave, and the school district said in a statement that they do not condone and won’t tolerate employees abusing a child.

Homeowners were in for a surprise when Philadelphia 76er Nerlens Noel left their rental. The NBA star did so much damage that they’re suing him for $75,000.

The 21-year-old Philadelphia 76ers star rented a 4,800 square foot home outside of Philly back in September 2014 — paying $54,000 for a one-year lease. But he not only trashed the place and left weed throughout the home … he also allegedly threatened the owners after he moved out.
In their lawsuit, the owners of the home list all of the crazy damage they found including after Noel moved out in August 2015:
— “Splashed neon colored sports drinks (such as Gatorade) on the carpets throughout the home.”
— $30,000 in other damage to carpets
— Extreme water damage throughout the home
— Clogged toilets filled with cotton balls and feces
And Nerlens demanded his security deposit back when he left. That salop has no shame smh.

Rapper DMX claims a woman he brought back to his California hotel is lying about sexual assault.
According to TMZ, the groupie stole his $30,000 watch but told the cops a different story when she was busted.
Sources close to ‘X’ tell TMZ he met a girl at a bar in Hollywood Friday night and brought her and a group of people back to his hotel room in Orange County. We’re told it wasn’t long before X’s team noticed the girl had vanished … and so had his $30k watch, so they called the cops.
Costa Mesa Police Department tells TMZ when they arrived, they found the girl with the watch and arrested her for theft. However — once in cuffs — she claimed the rapper had sexually assaulted her.
Our X sources say he got his watch back but the girl’s story is BS … there was a ton of other people around in the hotel room and he never hooked up with her there.
