Man Pushes Transgender Woman Onto Subway Tracks In NYC

A transgender woman was pushed onto the subway tracks at a Greenwich Village station by a man “acting erratically” who demanded to know what she was looking at, police said Wednesday.

Authorities said they are investigating the case as a hate crime.

The 28-year-old victim was on the southbound platform waiting for the 6 train at Lafayette and Bleecker streets Monday morning when she was approached by the suspect, according to police.

He allegedly asked her “What are you looking at?,” then ran to a garbage can, where he fished out an empty plastic bottle and threw it at her, according to police.

The man pushed the woman onto the tracks, then ran away.

The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated for cuts and bruises and released.

Surveillance video captured the suspect going to the garbage and taking out the plastic bottle that he threw at the woman.

Mariam Folashade Adebayo Murder

A Maryland woman lost her life this week after he ex-boyfriend gunned her down in a Target parking lot.

Mariam Folashade Adebayo, 24, died after police say she agree to meet with her ex Donald Bricker who shot her after they argued inside a vehicle.

WUSA 9 reports:

The woman who was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Germantown Target had recently ended a relationship with the man charged with her murder.

Mariam Folashade Adebayo, age 24, went by Shade, according to her family.

Adebayo was a University of Maryland alumni with a degree in public health.

She graduated in 2013. Adebayo attended Seneca Valley High School in Germantown and graduated from there in 2009, according to family.

Adebayo was meeting her ex-boyfriend Donald Bricker, age 27, to talk, according to police.

Abedayo had agreed to meet after Bricker threatened to harm himself over their breakup, sources tell WUSA9.

Though Adebayo ended their relationship after 6 months Bricker “wouldn’t take no for an answer,” family said.

Adebayo and Bricker were fighting in a car in the parking lot when she got out to get away from Bricker, witnesses told police. Bricker then got out of the car holding a gun, police said. Bricker fired at Adebayo and she fell to the ground, police said. He then shot at her a second time, police said.

Officers arriving at the scene found Adebayo suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

She was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

SMH…another act of senseless violence.

Ayesha Curry Responds To Criticism About Daughter Riley Curry

Anyone who knows our family knows we are extremely low maintenance, no fuss, and very relaxed. You walk into our home, and there are toys scattered everywhere. It’s perfectly disorganized, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. My husband and I are, after all, two young parents in our twenties with a 2-year-old daughter, Riley, and another child on the way. We’re just trying to figure it all out and above all make sure we raise our family in a happy, healthy home that is full of faith and love.

All the hoopla and excitement of Stephen playing for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Playoffs has really put our life into perspective. If anything, the attention has brought us closer together and made us realize that through all of this, we need to remain balanced and relaxed, especially in our home with our daughter.

I feel that the biggest thing you can do, as a parent, is to engage. You can never be too busy for your child. There should always be time for a bedtime story, impromptu playtime, or a quick game of hide-and-seek—or “find me,” as Riley calls it. These moments with your child should never get pushed to the bottom of the list. In these moments we set the foundation for the kind of relationship we want to have with our children as they grow.

We also do what we can to make sure that non-game days are still regimented. Bedtime routines stay the same, as do daily activities. Riley loves to horseback ride and swim, so we make sure those events don’t change through all of the excitement.

Sounds like good parenting to us…

Last week, Riley joined her father in a press conference, and some thought she stole the show. I thought it was beautiful, and I wouldn’t change a thing. There can be more than 50 people and 10 cameras—not counting camera phones—in the room during press conferences, so it can be overwhelming. But my husband handled his duties on the podium with ease and class. And my daughter was who she is—vibrant, spunky, and full of life. I hope she carries this with her through adulthood.

Stephen attends practice every day, and gives his all during the games on an almost-nightly basis. When that’s over, all he wants is to see his family, and on the day of that press conference, our daughter wanted to be with her father. I thought it was beautiful for him not to push his daddy duties to the bottom of the list just because all eyes were on him. I believe you should let your children be children, and don’t be afraid to be a parent, regardless of who’s watching.

Family matters! Our children matter! At the end of the day, when all the lights dim, and the cameras are gone, we are still here as his biggest, loudest, and most supportive cheerleaders. We are also extremely proud that in spite of some criticism, Riley was able to share in that experience with her father and bring joy and laughter into the lives and homes of many all over the world.

PREACH, SISTA! Nobody wants to hear the media belly-aching about how hard their job is. Period.

Min. Paul Scott Said Rolling Stones Says Song Lyrics In “Brown Sugar” And “Some Girls” Degrade Black Women

A North Carolina pastor is urging Rolling Stones fans to boycott the Rolling Stones’ because he said the lyrics in two of the band’s hit songs demean African-American women.

Minister Paul Scott, who heads the Messianic Afrikan Nation ministry in Durham, N.C., said he is outraged that Stones’ song “Brown Sugar” references the rape of an enslaved woman, and “Some Girls” includes the line, “Black girls just want to f**k all night.”
“The same way America boycotts rappers, we have to boycott rock,” Scott told BOSSIP. “We can’t have that double standard.”

“Brown Sugar” was reportedly inspired by band front man Mick Jagger’s relationship with African-American model Marsha Hunt, who later gave birth to their daughter, Karis. Scott said he’s surprised neither Jagger, nor the Stones have been questioned publicly about the lyrics before.
“He’s never been called out on the carpet for this, and that’s strange,” Scott said. “There’s no statute of limitations on rock rape.”

Scott’s comments come as The Rolling Stones prepare to kick off their North American “Zip Code” tour June 6 in Dallas. Scott said he wants radio stations to stop playing the song, and hopes the public, especially African-American women, will speak out against the lyrics.

We’ve reached out to a spokesperson for The Rolling Stones for comment.

Scott, a community activist who has previously spoken out about sexism in hip-hop, said there’s a long-standing double standard when it comes to misogyny in music. Rappers Rick Ross and Rich Homie Quan were forced to apologize after their lyrics glorifying rape hit the airwaves, but he said no one has called out the Stones.
“When a young black rapper talks about rape he is criticized but an old white rocker is given a hood pass,” says Scott. “Rappers and rockers need to be held accountable.”

Scott said it was his now-deceased grandmother who pointed out the lyrics to him when he was a kid.
“She was speaking put for the black women who didn’t have a voice,” Scott said. “Forty plus years later, I’m doing this on behalf of black women like her.”

Man Loses Fortune To Manhattan Fortune Teller

This man had to face that a woman just wasn’t that into him the hardest and most expensive way imaginable. Via NYTimes:

In summer 2013, the man was melancholy. He had a good job in marketing, with an office in New York, some support staff and a growing list of connections. But he had met a woman in Arizona named Michelle. He was in love. She was not. “The girl didn’t want to be with me, and the girl had categorically made that clear,” he wrote in the statement.

On Aug. 24, 2013, he walked across the Williamsburg Bridge and wound up in front of 253 West 43rd Street. The neon sign in the window read “Psychic.”

Ms. Delmaro greeted him and assured him that he and Michelle were “twin flames,” but that negativity was keeping them apart. “Spirits talk to me,” she said, according to the man’s statement, but there was a price. He paid her $2,500 and, after a second visit, $9,000 more.

A month later, in September, Ms. Delmaro told him she needed diamonds to protect his energy. He paid $40,064 for a ring from Tiffany’s and gave it to Ms. Delmaro, who promised he would use it as an engagement ring someday, the man said.

The psychic told the man to travel to LA to get his woman. Excited, he went, but when he arrived she was cold and told him he had been acting strange. Naturally, he turned BACK to the psychic for a solution.

Ms. Delmaro told him the trouble had come from a spirit that was stalking him. She needed $28,000, then $28,000 more. Michelle had grown cold so suddenly, he thought, that the spirit explanation sounded right, and so he paid.

When that didn’t work, Ms. Delmaro said she needed a time machine to go back and cleanse his past. When the man balked, she said a suitable watch would do the job, and gave him a list of choices. He said he selected one of the cheaper ones: a rose gold Rolex for $30,000.

In December, Ms. Delmaro said that they had to lure the spirit over a bridge of gold in the other realm, so that it would become trapped. She said $80,000 would buy an 80-mile bridge. Sold.

Ms. Delmaro, it should be noted, promised to return most of the money when her work was done. By year’s end, the bill had reached more than $320,000.

The spirit was crossing the bridge, “albeit very slowly,” the man wrote. Then Ms. Delmaro said they needed a second bridge, for Michelle’s spirit, and it needed to be 10 miles longer than the first one.

“I thought to myself, ‘I have the money just sitting in the bank,’ ” the man wrote, paying out $90,000.

Then he made a devastating discovery. On Feb. 17, 2014, he pulled up Michelle’s Facebook page and read the most recent post.

Michelle was dead. She had been for nine days.

Somehow, the psychic was able to milk even MORE money out of him to perform a reincarnation ceremony…eventually bleeding all of his accounts dry and forcing him to borrow from friends and relatives to pay her more. SMH. We actually feel sorry for this poor fool.

Proud dad Busta made a heartfelt speech from the stage, declaring, “I am the luckiest father on Earth tonight.”

He also exclaimed, “I ain’t no b**ch!” Duly noted! Wood-Smith was seen doing the signature “shimmy” of fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi.
