100 Arrested In NYC As Freddie Gray Police Brutality Protesters Flood Highways, Block Streets
Officers Arrest Protesters In NYC For Blocking Streets
Protests continued in Baltimore on Wednesday evening, joined by several shows of solidarity in cities across the nation. Over 1000 protesters gathered on the streets of NYC for an impromptu demonstration…but police took many into custody for disturbing rush hour. Via MailOnline:
Baltimore has been the scene of near-nightly protests ever since the April 19 death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, who is believed to have been fatally injured while in police custody.
However, the most dramatic protests Wednesday night happened in New York City, where a group of activists started an illegal march resulting in the arrests of several protesters in scuffles with police officers trying to maintain order on the streets.
More than 100 people were arrested by the New York Police Department, according to reports as up to 1,000 marchers blocked streets – including the entrance to the Holland Tunnel – a main passage under the Hudson River – and the West Side Highway.
Activists started gathering after 5pm in New York’s Union Square, with police warning over loud speakers that they would start making arrests if the group moved out of the park.
Cops followed through on that threat when defiant leaders of the group started moving the masses onto the street – blocking traffic during the city’s rush hour.
Despite initial clashes with cops, the protest re-grouped several blocks to the west where they started marching northbound on the sidewalk of a major highway. Police appear to have left the protesters pretty much alone, escorting them on their march and only intervening when they stepped out into the streets.
Good to see so many banding together behind this cause. But what will it truly take to end the problem of excessive police force? Peep more pics below:

Beyoncé recently sent a message to the thousands of people protesting the spinal chord injury death of Freddie Gray.
Bey is apparently teaming with the NAACP to send relief to those affected by the unrest in Baltimore because “people are hurting.”
Bey also posted a video of Time magazine’s iconic Baltimore cover comparing the city in 1968 to its present state.
Of course she’s now being blasted by folks who either think she should’ve remained silent or think her social media post isn’t enough.

Love & Hip Hop cast member Yung Joc just got tossed in the slammer after pressing the gas just a little too hard in the streets of Atlanta. Turns out a simple speeding ticket snowballed into an arrest when a quick run of his suspended license revealed an outstanding warrant. Via TMZ:
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Yung Joc just learned a hard lesson … speeding can open Pandora’s Box and land you in jail.
Law enforcement sources tell us the rapper was pulled over by Atlanta PD Thursday for speeding. Cops ran his license and discovered it was suspended. But that wasn’t all.
YJ has a warrant out for his arrest. We don’t know the nature of the warrant, but it doesn’t matter much. The rapper was cuffed and taken to the cop shop for a not-so-pretty mug. He’s still in custody.
SMH. You have to watch out for the GA Higway Patrol. Didn’t Rocko just go through something similar a few months back?

Get Well: Momma Dee Rushed To Hospital After Uber Accident
Momma Dee Hospitalized In Atlanta
It’s been a rough day for the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast on the streets of ATL. Momma Dee reportedly got into a pretty bad crash earlier this afternoon while catching an Uber home from lunch. Via TMZ:
“Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” star Momma Dee was rushed to the hospital after a scary car accident in Atlanta involving her Uber car service.
MD tells TMZ she was in the back of an Uber on her way home from lunch Thursday afternoon … when a man in a Nissan struck her ride from behind. Dee says she is in severe pain and believes she’s injured her back. An ambulance is taking her to a hospital right now.
Dee says the driver of the Nissan pulled over to exchange his information with her driver, but left the scene before police showed up.
Law enforcement sources confirm one person is being transferred from the accident scene — and they say the victim made it clear … she’s a celebrity.

Wait — was Momma Dee having lunch at a landmark Atlanta strip club? Actually…we suppose that isn’t too strange.
Hopefully she’s okay! We wish her a speedy recovery.

Maryland Legislator Thinks Baltimore Rioters Should Have Benefits Revoked
While serving as guest host for a radio show on Wednesday, Maryland State legislator Patrick McDonough chatted with callers on “finding a solution” to the “problem” that is Baltimore’s angry youth — which he refers to as the “thug nation.”
McDonough gave an interesting response when a caller asked if it were possible to simply starve the families of rioters to punish them for having a “poor upbringing.” When asked if people who riot in the community are “too young, why can’t they take away benefits from families, from like the parents who are collecting welfare.” McDonough responded:
“That’s an idea and that could be legislation. I think that you could make the case that there is a failure to do proper parenting and allowing this stuff to happen, is there an opportunity for a month to take away your food stamps?”
Hmmm…he thinks starving the people will keep them from looting stores again? We bet he has a bit of a surprise coming his way if something like this comes to pass…
He also says he’d be interested in seeing a scientific study to explain what is so wrong with young, poor Black people and why they just can’t seem to get along with police:
“These young people, they’re violent, they’re brutal, their mindset is dysfunctional to a point of being dangerous…”
Funny…sounds like he’s describing abusive members of the police force to us.

Suge Knight’s Lawyer Says Floyd Mayweather May Post His Bail
Suge Knight has been suffering a number of emergencies and medical issues since he entered jail after killing a man with his truck earlier this year. His sky-high bail amount caused him to actually pass out, since there is no way he’d ever be able pay on the sky high amount. Rumor has it that Floyd Mayweather may step in and save Suge from cooling his heels in the clink while he awaits trial. Via E! News:
Suge Knight may be out of jail as early as this weekend if Floyd Mayweather Jr. wins his anticipated boxing match against Manny Pacquiao, his lawyer says.
The 50-year-old Death Row Records co-founder has remained behind bars since he was arrested on Jan. 30 on suspicion of running over two men with his pickup truck. He re-entered a plea of not guilty on Thursday to charges of murder, attempted murder and hit and run over the incident, in which one man was killed and the second was injured. His bail was set at $10 million, reduced from $25 million, and his trial is set to begin in July.
Matthew Fletcher, Knight’s attorney, said if Mayweather wins Saturday’s boxing match, he could cover his client’s bail, The Los Angeles Times and NBC Los Angeles reported on April 30. The boxing champion has not commented. Fletcher told the outlets he talked to Mayweather about the issue on Wednesday.
“They’re good friends,” Fletcher was quoted as saying. “Suge said, ‘Man, I was really going to pull for him to win, but now I’m going to have to pray for him to win.'”
This one sounds a bit off…he is “Money” Mayweather after all. We wouldn’t think he’d need to hinge his ability to bail his good friend out of jail on Saturday’s fight. Doesn’t he carry about half that amount in cash in his backpack at all times anyway??
Well as it turns out, the miracle bail was a bunch of wishful thinking. As TMZ reports:
TMZ Sports just got off the phone with one of Floyd’s most trusted members of his TMT crew — who tells us Suge’s lawyer was just plain wrong when he told media outlets there was a plan in place for Floyd to fork over the money.
We’re told Floyd and Suge were close in the past — but they haven’t been in contact in several years.
Well…maybe Suge can hope Floyd has a change of heart?

BOSSIP Exclusive: Judge Slaps Second Warrant On Damon Dash
Troubled Co-Founder Of Roc-A-Fella Records Owes Another Baby Mama $50K In Back Child Support
A Bronx Family Court Judge has slapped a second warrant on Damon Dash for more than $50,000 in back child support for his tween son, BOSSIP can reveal.
Dash’s son’s mother, who BOSSIP is not identifying, asked the court to step in for the back due support, which totals $51,019, during the contempt hearing April 20.
This is the second warrant to surface for the beleaguered Dash this week. On Wednesday, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Matthew Cooper signed a warrant for Dash’s arrest for owing ex-wife Rachel Roy more than $340,000 in back child support, camp and school fees and for defaulting on the mortgages for their Manhattan homes.
Dash faces up to six months in jail on each warrant, and even if he’s locked up, he’ll still be liable for the back child support.
Dash, who has four children by three women, was not present for the hearing. On the day of the hearing – the same day a L.A. judge gave ex-wife Rachel Roy full custody of their two daughters — Dash tweeted that he was celebrating the stoner holiday 4/20.
We’ve reached out to him for comment.
“It is unfortunate that Damon Dash has focused on denigrating the mothers’ of his children on social media,” Donnell Suares, who reps both Dash’s son’s mother and Roy, told BOSSIP in a statement. “For nearly a year, these women have been raising their children without the benefit of financial support from Mr. Dash. Mr. Dash should comply with the Courts’ orders and support his children.”
Dash meanwhile has defended himself on social media, accusing his children’s mothers of being money hungry liars who are trying to extort him and keep him from his kids. Dash claims on Instagram that he gave the mother of his 11-year-old son $128,000 towards a house and took him to court for no reason. He says ex-wife Rachel Roy’s company was supposed to pay child support to his son’s mother, but Roy only paid her legal fees and salary instead.

All this time we thought Kimmy Cakes and Yeezy were forcing North to dress like a tomboy! Turns out she really isn’t into pink AT ALL.

Khloe Kardashian revealed in a new interview that her nieces Penelope Disick and North West could not be more different when it comes to the color of their tutus.
“They go to ballet class together all the time,” Kardashian, 30, told Refinery29 of the reality scions. “P’s always really girly, while North is normally in an all-black outfit. Kim recently put North in an all-pink leotard and tutu, and she texted me and was like, ‘Look, I put North in pink just for you!'”
Unfortunately, Kanye West’s little girl was not a fan. “North didn’t like it — North wanted a black tutu,” Khloe told the website. “I just thought it was hysterical, because I was saying [to Kim], ‘Put the girl in some damn pink for a second!’ And she’s like, ‘I did it for you, and she didn’t like it! I know my daughter’s personality.’ I find that so cute. North is going to be 2 in June, and she already knows what she wants. It’s hysterical.”
Proud aunt Koko dished more details on her nieces’ and nephew’s personalities. “They’re fashionistas in their own right. We definitely use them as inspiration, and the [Kardashian Kids] collection speaks to their personalities,” she noted of Penny, Nori, and Mason.
“The boys line, especially, is very much all about Mason and his friends. When he’s with his friends, and they’re playing a game, it’s so cute to look at how they’re dressed and how they put things together. It’s hysterical how kids have their own personalities, even at like 3 or 4. And, it’s funny what they tend to like.”
Kourtney and Scott’s middle child, for example, “likes to dress herself,” Khloe revealed. “What she’s drawn to is totally different than what North is drawn to. And, they’re not even 3 years old yet! It’s so entertaining to watch that.”
Khloe added that she hopes, someday, to recognize that in her own children. “Everyone says that when you have kids, you become crazy,” she said with a laugh. “So I don’t know what I’m going to be. But, I’m a really fun aunt, so I hope I’m going to be a fun mom! I like to have fun and be silly and not take myself too seriously with the kids, so I hope that will translate when I actually have my own.”
