Man Shoots Family Then Himself

A man opened fire in his home in the early hours of Thursday morning, killing his daughter and himself and seriously wounding his wife and son. The family beagle was also killed.

James Edwards, 52, and his daughter Laurin Edwards, 19, died from gunshot wounds in the family home on Winterset Drive in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh.

Edwards’ wife, Charlene, 51, and son, Jimmy, 21, were taken to Allegheny General Hospital and are listed in a critical condition.

Police told WTAE that James Edwards went ‘from room to room’ shooting his family members before turning the gun on himself.

Police found Laurin Edwards with two gunshot wounds to the torso and her father dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest in the hallway of the home.

According to the Post-Gazette, Charlene Edwards was found on the patio and her son Jimmy was in his bedroom. Both had been shot twice.

Charlene Edwards managed to call 911 to report her husband’s rampage from inside the house around 3:10am.

Jimmy Edwards was playing an online Xbox game when the shootings occurred, and someone who heard the shooting through the video game also dialed 911.

According to WTAE, the family had that night celebrated Laurin Edwards’ 19th birthday.

Police investigators are searching for a motive in the horrific shooting, but so far there has been little to indicate a reason for the crime.

‘There were no journals, diaries or other writings found to lead to a clear explanation,’ said Lieutenant Schurman of the Allegheny police department.

According to WTAE, James Edwards was an electrician at Pittsburgh International Airport until he was suspended from the job last Friday.

Airport officials have refused to comment on Edwards’ employment situation except to express sympathy and condolences for the Edwards family and say that as of Friday, Edwards still had a job at the airport.

Police are uncertain as to whether his job situation may have fueled the rampage.

Neighbors said that although there were no obvious signs of trouble at the home, they sensed Edwards was ‘stressed’

‘Well, there were some conflicts, I’ll say that. Conflicts with the women across the street, the people next door. Conflicts,’ neighbor Ruth Duerstein told WTAE.

‘Just when we got to thinking that maybe he’d gotten help or whatever – it seemed to be going better for him – and this horrible thing.’

Neighbors and friends are still struggling to comprehend Thursday’s events.

‘It’s a tragic situation. The family is a good family. The kids were absolutely perfect. You couldn’t ask for better kids.

And smart. Both are in the National Honor Society through high school and college,’ neighbor Linda Behrhorst said.
‘We are really shook up over this.’

A father is suppose to protect his family not try to kill them. SMH.

Kanye And Kim Battling Over Baby And Public Lives

Kim and Kanye are probably arguing over naming their baby North.

According to Radar Online

Kanye West may have proudly debuted the first photo of North West on her grandmother’s talk show, but in doing so RadarOnline.com has learned that he and Kim Kardashian are in an intense power struggle over their daughter and the public lives.

“Kim is getting really upset that Kanye has been taking over and making all of the public announcements about baby North,” a source close to the reality star told RadarOnline.com.

“She hasn’t been able to do anything. She didn’t announce that she was pregnant. She didn’t get to show off the baby first. Kanye is doing everything and it’s cause a huge power struggle between the two of them.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kanye is trying to control Kim now that they have a child together.

“Kanye wants to make sure that every single aspect of Kim’s life is now handled the way he wants it to be,” the source said.

This is especially distressing for Kim because she craves the spotlight and being shut away from the photographers and fans that she loves is difficult for her.

“Kim likes having her picture taken and she knows that she has to do that in order to stay relevant and so she still keeps in touch with paps who can take her picture,” the source said.

“It is never a surprise when a photographer gets a picture of Kim, and so the two times that she’s been with the baby, at the doctor’s appointment and at Kanye’s grandfather’s funeral, and been photographed are most likely because she has been tipping them off and this is infuriating her baby daddy.”

The source said it’s a tough time for Kim and Kanye as they try and handle their personal and professional lives.

“Kim wants to be in charge and so does Kanye and they’re constantly butting heads. She is a really strong woman and just because she had a baby with Kanye doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life and her daughter’s life.”

Kim has been absent from the spotlight lately and we all know she craves attention. Kim should just go with the flow…we’ve all seen how Kanye gets when he’s angry.

Girl Gets Jaw Broken On Tour Bus

It’s never cool to hit a female.

12:25 PM PT — A rep for T.I. tells TMZ, the incident did NOT occur on T.I.’s bus … in fact, the rapper was not even aware of the incident. Which leaves two other possibilities.

More drama for the Lil Wayne/2 Chainz/T.I. tour buses — law enforcement sources tell TMZ, a female fan says she was invited on board one of the vehicles after the show in OKC this week … and an entourage member punched her in the face, breaking her jaw.

The alleged attacker isn’t named in the police report — but the victim says her jaw was broken in two places … and the damage is so bad she required surgery to repair it, and her jaw is now wired shut for six weeks while it heals. The victim says she’ll be on a liquid diet for the entire time.

Here’s the story … the victim told police, the unidentified entourage member had been hitting on her during the concert … and invited her on board one of the rappers’ buses after the show.

The victim says she took the guy up on his offer — but when she showed up with her girlfriend, he stuck his hand down her shirt and grabbed her breast.

The victim says she slapped his hand away and he turned around and punched her in the jaw, sending her flying out of the bus door. She says she landed on her back on the pavement with blood pouring out of her mouth.

According to the police report, the entourage member ran off, and the victim was taken to the hospital.

A rep for the Oklahoma City PD tells TMZ, the incident is under investigation. So far, no arrests have been made.

FYI, the incident allegedly occurred just hours before police searched 2 Chainz’ tour bus for drugs … and arrested the rapper.

This is messed up if it did happen…ladies stay away from those tour buses. We smell a lawsuit.

Former Football Star Admits To Affair With Teacher

A former Alabama University football star allegedly admitted to having sex with his former high school teacher, who wanted to have his baby.

Top rated defensive back Eddie Williams, 20, is said to have admitted the affair with his high school athletic director Karissa Wesley, 35, after they became close when she tutored him.

Williams said he had sex with Wesley ‘about 10 times’ when he visited her house.

Another student, who was present and heard them having sex, told police he ended the affair when Wesley talked about having Williams’ baby.

Williams, who was kicked off the Alabama squad earlier this year after being accused of taking part in a robbery on campus, said the affair took place in his senior year.

Williams at first denied the affair – but later confessed, according to Major Tommy Ford with Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Details of the alleged affair emerged as Wesley was suspended from her job as Athletic Director at Arnold High School in Bay County, Florida.

A former coach at the school is reported to have told school board members about the affair while school chiefs received an email from a former teacher Peggy Dawson.

Authorities said Dawson’s email included a hand written letter from former football player Andre Allen who alleged that Wesley and Williams had sex.

Allen was referred to as student B while Williams was student A in a subsequent investigation.

The e-mail said that Williams smoked sticky icky with Wesley on multiple occasions, stayed the night and drank alcohol with them.

Williams’ confession to the affair was released by police to TV station WMBB.

Wesley has strenuously denied the affair and issued a statement to WMBB TV.

She said:’I deny all allegations in the letter. I want to thank the Arnold students, especially the volleyball players, administration and faculty, parents and community for the outpouring of prayers, love and support.’

The school district investigation found that Wesley is in a relationship with the school’s Football and Basketball Coach, Bobby Britton.

More and more teachers are chopping down students…no wonder we are behind in education.

Transgender Woman Killed In Hate Crime

A transgender woman in New York has died after being beaten by a group of men who attacked her and yelled gay slurs.

The victim, 21-year-old Islan Nettles, died Thursday in a Harlem hospital when she was taken off life support five days following the attack.

The attacker, a 20-year-old man named Paris Wilson, was arrested for assault but now that the victim has died he may face murder charges.

The attack on Nettles was the latest in a spate of bias incidents this year in New York and a total of 68 have been reported so far this year, showing a significant increase from the 54 that were reported in all of last year.

Nettles and a friend, another transgender woman, were out Saturday evening in Harlem when they ran into a group of men and one pounced, punching Nettles in the face, police said.

The New York Post reports that the attack took place after Wilson began flirting with Nettles, before he realized she was transgendered.

Once that became clear, his friends started teasing him and he proceeded to attack her.

After the attack, Nettles was hospitalized, slipped into a coma and later died.

The witness eventually told detectives about the anti-gay remarks- after initially leaving them out of the criminal report- and the hate crimes task force took over the investigation.

Detectives are looking whether the suspect had propositioned Nettles.

Upgraded charges are possible following the medical examiner’s ruling, police said.

Nettle’s sister, Elana, said in an interview Friday that she and her mother were coping well so far but did not comment further.

The bias attacks this year range from yelled slurs to the May killing of a 32-year-old gay man in Greenwich Village. Police stepped up patrols this summer in response.

In May, police said Mark Carson, 32, was first taunted with homophobic slurs, then shot in the head in Greenwich Village, not far from the site of 1969 riots that helped give rise to the gay rights movement.

A suspect was arrested on a charge of murder as a hate crime. The killing, and other bias attacks, sparked a summer protest attended by thousands.

Some of the other bias incidents this summer included an assault last week where two men were attacked in Chelsea.

Christine Quinn, the city’s first openly gay City Council speaker and a mayoral candidate, denounced the most recent attack.

‘An attack against one person, or one community, is an assault against all New Yorkers,’ she said in a joint statement with other council members.

‘We ask all New Yorkers to come together, to embrace our differences and to denounce hate violence.’

So he attacked her because he was embarrassed? She didn’t have to lose her life. Prayers go out to her family.

Taylor Swift’s Trespasser To Go Free For Now

The 55-year-old man accused of trespassing twice on the grounds of Taylor Swift‘s Rhode Island mansion is going free with no punishment — for now, at least.

Joseph Bernatche appeared in court in Westerly, Rhode Island, on Friday for a pre-trial in the case that charges he willfully trespassed on the property, but the case has been rescheduled to September 6.

When Bernatche appeared in court, his attorney, Michael J. Robinson of Robo Law tells RadarOnline.com exclusively, “They executed him! No, just kidding. Really, it was fine.”

Robinson reveals that he presented new information to the Westerly Police Department about the case.

“Generally it was information about the location of her property line,” Robinson explains. “Some photographs.”

“The police department requested time to investigate that, so the case has been pushed back to September 6,” he adds. As for the final outcome, Robinson insists, “I’m confident it’s going to swing my way.”

Bernatche was arrested while driving away from Taylor’s property on July 27, after he handed a note to her security guard. He also allegedly visited the property back in April.

Taylor, you can’t play with these trespassers…you’ll end up coming home and finding one chilling in the crib like J. Lo.

Drugs To Blame For Lamar And Khloe’s Marriage Crisis

The marriage of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom is in crisis, and TMZ has learned … the core reason is hardcore drug abuse.

Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Lamar has had a problem for 2 years. It got so bad, last August Khloe pressured Lamar to go to rehab. Lamar went to a facility in San Diego, but he was so resistant Khloe hired private investigators to secretly stand guard at the rehab place to make sure he didn’t leave. The P.I.s stood guard 24/7.

Our sources say Lamar constantly threatened to leave and Khloe made several visits to prevail upon him to stay. We’re told after 3 weeks, Lamar left for good.

We’re told Lamar actually stayed clean once he left rehab and was able to play well for the Clippers this past season. But when the season was over, sources say Lamar slipped deep back into hardcore recreational drugs.

As for reports that Lamar was cheating recently, we’re told Khloe is convinced it happened, and she feels she’s been hit with a double whammy … but drugs are the main problem.

As for divorce … neither Khloe nor Lamar has contacted a lawyer. As one source put it, “Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage.”

We’re told the situation has become dire. Sources tell us … within the last 2 days, the entire family staged an intervention, trying to convince Lamar to go back to rehab, but he wouldn’t have any of it.

In fact, on Wednesday morning, right after the failed intervention, Khloe threw Lamar out of the house and as you see from the pic (above), one of Lamar’s friends is loading Lamar’s stuff in his car as Lamar watches.

We attempted to reach Lamar for comment … so far, no word back.

Authorities have confirmed the charred body found inside the home set on fire before a mentally disturbed Army veteran terrorized a California town is the crazed gunman’s mother.

Ryan Carnan, 29, gunned down Sally Carnan, 67, set her house ablaze, and then went on a shooting rampage Saturday through Simi Valley, CA, firing at random people, including police officers – while riding a tractor, according to officials.

The deranged Army vet allegedly admitted to his brother that he executed their mother before setting the house ablaze and going on his joy ride.

The brother’s panicked phone call to police came too late, the home was already engulfed in flames and calls about a man shooting at people in the suburban Los Angeles town’s streets were pouring in.

Ryan Carnan is said to have fired at police when they finally caught up with him, forcing them to shoot him dead, according to a police spokesperson.

Being burned to death is a horrible way to die…his poor mother. We wonder what made him go off the deep end?

NBA star Lamar Odom is expected to imminently release a statement and confirm he has an addiction to prescription drug medication — Oxycontin and Ambien — as RadarOnline.com exclusively reported.

Multiple sources familiar with the situation told Radar that Lamar, 33, has had a drug problem for the past two years and even went to rehab last August under pressure from the Kardashian clan.

Lamar is expected to release a statement admitting his addiction to the prescription meds, confirming Radar’s bombshell report.

Khloe Kardashian‘s hubby left rehab after about three weeks and was clean for last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to reports.

But the two-time championship sixth man allegedly returned to hardcore recreational drug use, it’s claimed, around the same time he was linked to two extramarital affairs.

Media reports of Lamar smoking rocks are false. “Lamar’s vice has been Oxycontin,” a source told Radar.

A shocked Gloria told Yahoo OMG Insider: ‘I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is now I can never “unsee” it.’

However, Gloria, who admitted she had not seen Miley’s ‘newincarnation’, did enjoy her son’s part in the duet, which he performed in a striking black and white suit.

The Mission Impossible star, who has been married to the singer for eight years, was apparently fine with the ex Hannah Montana star’s bump and grind.

Sources close to the 37-year-old who arrived with Robin at the Brooklyn event, told TMZ she ‘couldn’t be cooler’ about Miley’s efforts to dry hump her husband on the family friendly show.

In addition, she wasn’t exactly surprised by the raunchy nature of the showstopping song because there were ‘tons of rehearsals’ before Robin and Miley took the stage.

Meanwhile, Miley’s family took to Twitter to voice their support for the former Disney star.
Her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, urged his followers to concentrate on the wider picture via hyis Twitter account.

‘Thanking God for so many blessings tonight,’ he tweeted. ‘Continue to pray for world peace. More love… less hate.’

NBA Hotels Say They Found Evidence Of Drug Abuse In Lamar Odom’s Rooms

According to TMZ reports:

Lamar Odom was deep into drugs while he was playing for the Dallas Mavericks and there is evidence he was doing the exact same thing while playing for the Lakers … TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to a Westin hotel in Memphis tell TMZ … in March of 2012, shortly before Lamar was cut from the Mavs, he stayed in one of the guest rooms while his team was in town playing the Grizzlies.

Our sources say when Lamar left, hotel employees found major carpet damage … including quarter-sized burn marks. The damage was so bad, the hotel had to replace the carpeting in the room.

Our sources say hotel employees also found white powder on the desk blotter and the room reeked of noxious smoke. Our sources say it was obvious there was serious drug use going on in the hotel room.

Dammit Lammy…

The Westin is one of numerous hotels where NBA players stay when they’re on the road. TMZ has contacted a number of these hotels in various cities. We’ve learned from several hotel employees … they had complained about the state of the rooms when Lamar left — similar to what happened in Memphis — and this was while he was playing for the Lakers.

Our sources say no one on the Mavs knew Lamar was a substance abuser while he was on the team, but everyone knew something was seriously wrong with him.

We’re told that during at least part of the time he was playing for the Mavs, Lamar was smoking Oxycontin and cocaine.

Odom’s problems were so severe, he was cut from the Mavs mid-season and paid in full just so he would go away.

TMZ broke the story … the drug use escalated to crack — and we’re told Lamar’s level of crack use is now alarming and life-threatening.

This story explains a lot about that mysterious season where Lam-Lam just couldn’t get right. At this point we just hope Lamar gets clean and gets his life back on track.

Scottie Pippen Will Not Be Charged In Attack On Fan

The justice system worked for Scottie Pippen who won’t see a day in jail for attacking a thirsty fan…that’s what we call winning.

According to TMZ

Chalk up ANOTHER victory for Scottie Pippen … TMZ has learned the retired NBA superstar will NOT be prosecuted for kicking a guy’s ass outside of a Malibu sushi joint back in June.

The L.A. County D.A. determined there was simply not enough evidence to prove Scottie did anything wrong during a confrontation with 49-year-old Camran Shafighi outside of Nobu on June 23.

According to official documents, obtained by TMZ, Pippen — who’s now represented by mega-attorney Mark Geragos — admitted pushing and spitting at Shafighi but officials determined it was impossible to tell if Pippen was the aggressor or if he was acting in self-defense.

Plus, officials concluded the victim was FAKING multiple injuries — and even faked seizures — in an effort to make Pippen look like the bad guy.

According to the document, doctors believe Shafighi’s injuries were minor at best and included a cut to his lip and a bruised chin.

TMZ broke the story … the two scuffled in the parking lot of the restaurant after Scottie refused to pose for a SECOND picture with Shafighi.

Officials claim Shafighi was extremely intoxicated at the time of the confrontation (.18 blood alcohol level) … and also tested positive for opiates.

Shafighi can still go after Pippen in civil court — he’s already filed a $4 million suit — but this is a pretty big blow to his case.

Dude tried to fake seizures to make Scottie look bad…in this case he should have just accepted his azz whoopin’ and kept it moving.
