A current Republican-backed bill that has been circulating on The Hill recently gained even more opposition at a hearing to discuss the bills’ proposal to make abortion performed after 20 weeks, including those performed because of pre-diagnosed fetal abnormalities, illegal in Washington, D.C.

At a congressional committee hearing to discuss a proposed measure to criminalize abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, Texas lawmaker Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told a woman who made the difficult choice to terminate a non-viable pregnancy that she should have carried the fetus to term anyway — even though an MRI had already revealed that he was missing a large part of his brain and didn’t have much chance of survival.
On Thursday, Christy Zink testified in opposition to H.R. 1797, a 20-week abortion ban that anti-abortion representatives of Congress keep attempting to impose upon the women in the nation’s capital.
Abortion opponents claim that 20-week bans are necessary to prevent “fetal pain.” But in her testimony, Zink pointed out it’s misleading to suggest that this abortion restriction would serve this purpose, since forcing her to carry her pregnancy to term would have actually caused her unborn son considerable pain.
Gohmert responded: “Ms. Zink, having my great sympathy and empathy both. I still come back wondering, shouldn’t we wait, like that couple did, and see if the child can survive before we decide to rip him apart? So. These are ethical issues, they’re moral issues, they’re difficult issues, and the parents should certainly be consulted. But it just seems like, it’s a more educated decision if the child is in front of you to make those decisions.”
It doesn’t get much more heartless than to stand in a woman’s face and tell her what she should have done to save her unborn child that she’s more than likely still grieving over. He should be ashamed!

Catholics in and around Madrid concerned that they or their loved ones are suffering from demonic possession may be about to get some much needed assistance from the archdiocese. A spokeswoman confirmed to the Associated Press that the Church in considering training more priests in the exorcism rites to counter increasing demand for its one trained priest’s time.
The spokewoman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the AP, “The devil exists. That’s a fact.”
News of the exorcists-in-training was first reported by the Spanish-language Catholic site Religion en libertad, which claims there are eight priests currently in training to learn how to perform exorcisms based on the De Exorcismus et supplicationibus quibusdam, approved by Pope John Paul II in 1998, which replaced the exorcism rites first published in 1614. Catholic World News described the new rite in 1999:
The liturgical ritual itself is centered on supplicatory prayers, asking for God’s help, and “imperative” prayers addressed directly to the Devil, commanding him to depart. The prayers are to be said as the exorcist lays his hand on the individual, and are part of an overall ritual which includes specific blessings and sprinklings with holy water. The ritual also includes the litany of the saints, the reading of the Psalms and the Gospel, and a proclamation of faith which may be either the familiar Creed or a simple question-and-answer (“Do you renounce Satan? I do.”). The ritual concludes with the kissing of the Cross, and the final prayer, proclaiming the triumph of Christ and his Church.
ReL’s Álex Rosal reports that the eight candidates are additionally studying the 1614 rites as well as the so-called Roman Ritual of 1952, which served as a bridge between the older rites and the final liturgical version issued in 1998. Candidates are also said to be reading the books of Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican’s chief exorcist and a controversial figure in his own right.
Rosal further reports that there are eight candidates to correspond to each of the eight dioceses, and decisions may be made with the input of local psychiatrists to rule out mental illness and drug abuse before beginning an exorcism.
Spanish website The Local reports that there are only 18 registered exorcists in Spain, the most famous and active of which is, according to exorcism expert and author José María Zavala, Father Salvador Hernández Ramón, who reportedly studied under Amorth in Rome. The training itself is reportedly being led by Bishop Cesar Franco.
Some of these beyotches in America need an exorcism to exercise that demon they got stuck up their a**.

Amanda Bynes just tweeted something the cops clearly aren’t buying — she says she’s drug free.
Amanda says, “I only smoke tobacco. I don’t drink or do drugs.” She adds, “I’ve never had a bong in my life!”
As you know, Amanda has been accused of smoking drugs in her apartment and then throwing a bong out the window after police entered.
And there’s more. Amanda says, “I need to get another nose job after seeing my mugshot!”

A machete-wielding mom broke into her ex’s home and threatened to chop their kids’ heads off after living in the woods for two weeks, police said.
Drug addict Alisa Lynn Williams, 32, allegedly battered down the door to the DeLand, Fla. home she used to share with Carlos Quinones at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
She is then accused of threatening their 7-year-old twin boys and 6-year-old daughter with the deadly weapon.
Neighbors heard her screaming she “was going to cut off their heads” before being disarmed by Quinones and his father and being pushed outside.
She then tried to break back in by smashing a window and climbing through shards of broken glass.
Cops were called and officers found her sitting on the porch covered in blood.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Williams moved out of the home two weeks ago because of her drug and alcohol problems.
She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed burglary and is being held without bail in the Volusia County Branch Jail.

According to attorney Scott Leemon, after hours of interviews and reviewing a number of documents, many questions are still unanswered.
“The main problem that we encountered was that the NYPD did not do a thorough investigation into Chris’ death,” Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com. “In fact, what they did do was cursory, at best.”
Scott Leemon said he is urging the Bronx County District Attorney to open a formal investigation into the death of Chris Lighty.
Hopefully Chris’ family will get some answers.

However, while the buildings and boardwalk of Seaside Heights can be repaired, it seems the relationship between New Jersey’s governor and the area’s most famous celebrities – the cast of MTV’s The Jersey Shore – cannot.
The smallest member of the reality cast Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi went head to head with Governor Chris Christie on Friday at the reopening of the Seaside Heights’ boardwalk, which featured heavily in the reality series.
The pair had just filmed separate segments on the Today show when backstage the 25-year-old stopped the Governor to address why he has been critical about the show’s influence on the area in the past.
The incident was caught on tape by Asbury Park Press and it was clear things were frosty between the pair.
While not heard on the video, according to Snooki the politician had made his feelings clear.
‘Getting told why we are bad for jersey. Amazing,’ the star tweeted.
In the video, Nicole can be heard asking the much larger man to step back from her as they talk.
‘Why are you standing so close to me,’ the mother of one asks.
Leaning comically even closer to Nicole, Christie says: ‘You asked for my opinion.’
Trying to subdue the situation cast mate Deena Cortese, flanked by Jennifer ‘JWoww’ Farley, tells the politician she is from Jersey.
‘I know you are, I was talking about her,’ the governor curtly replies.
Still trying to calm things down Denna said: ‘And guess what? I thought you did a good job with the hurricane.’
With the situation not getting any better, Snooki explains: ‘I just wanted to meet you, and just, hope you start to like us.’
His response isn’t audible, but as he shakes the girls’ hands as he walks away it is clear neither party is a big fan of the other.
‘He doesn’t just like us,’ Nicole then tells the cameraman.

A young girl was killed after a suicide jumper landed on her head.
The 7-year-old died in Busan, South Korea on Wednesday evening after being crushed by her neighbor who’d leapt from his 10th-floor apartment.
The 40-year-old man, identified only as Mr. Jang, was declared dead at the scene.
His unsuspecting victim was taken to hospital but died shortly after.
Channel News Asia reports the jumper, who had a history of mental illness and depression, hit the girl as she walked out of the apartment building with her father.

Racial profiling is still running wild in Arizona…
A shady Arizona sheriff known for his “stern” methods of laying down the law has now been called out for racial profiling practices towards Latino citizens and ordered to stop.

A federal judge has ruled that the office of America’s self-proclaimed toughest sheriff systematically singled out Latinos in its trademark immigration patrols, marking the first finding by a court that the agency racially profiles people.
The decision by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow in Phoenix backs up years of allegations from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s critics who say his officers violate the constitutional rights of Latinos in relying on race in their immigration enforcement.
Snow, whose ruling Friday came more than eight months after a seven-day, non-jury trial, also ruled Arpaio’s deputies unreasonably prolonged the detentions of people who were pulled over.
It’s about time somebody put a stop to this madness is Arizona!

The 18-year-old girl who was already expelled from her Florida high school is now fighting for a future as a non-felon.

Eighteen-year-old Kaitlyn Hunt, charged with a crime for having sex with a 14-year-old girl, rejected a deal Friday that would have required her to plead guilty to child abuse, according to Hunt’s attorney.
Hunt was charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery after the parents of the 14-year-old went to authorities. Hunt’s family says their relationship was consensual, but in Florida a person under the age of 16 is not legally able to give consent to sex.
If Hunt is convicted, she could go to prison for 15 years — a reality that touched off a maelstrom of controversy across the country this past week. The case became widely known when Hunt’s family began an online campaign in defense of their daughter.
The plea deal from the Indian River County prosecutor’s office would have required Hunt to plead no contest to child abuse, spend two years “on community control,” which usually involves strict supervision, followed by one year of probation.
According to the plea deal document, during her probation, Hunt would have had to agree to stay away from the 14-year-old, and to provide her probation officer with immediate access to her Internet and telephone communication.
In a statement saying that Hunt was rejecting the plea deal, her attorney, Julia Graves, wrote:
“This is a situation of two teenagers who happen to be of the same sex involved in a relationship. If this case involved a boy and girl, there would be no media attention to this case.
“Our client is a model citizen. She has been placed in an environment of school with her classmates where they go to school together, have lunch together, and play on the same team and are allowed to have communication and contact without barriers. Then when something develops between the two as a result of this environment created by the state, it leads to criminal prosecution.”
“If this incident occurred 108 days earlier when she was 17, we wouldn’t even be here,” the attorney wrote.
The parents of the young girl Friday evening said they are prepared to go forward with the case.
His daughter’s innocence was taken away, Jim Smith told CNN affiliate WPEC. “There deserves some type of punishment for that.”
The office of State Attorney Bruce Colton said it tendered an “extremely lenient plea offer in this case which would have ensured that the defendant avoided any term of incarceration and the stigma of being labeled a sex offender.
“In fact, in all probability the defendant would have avoided being a convicted felon,” the statement continued. Colton will prepare for a mid-July trial.
Earlier this week, Hunt cried in front of news crews.
“I’m scared of losing my life, the rest of my life,” she said, “not being able to go to college or be around kids, be around my sisters and my family.”
LaBahn told CNN that a felony child abuse conviction would mean that Hunt would have to disclose her felony conviction on employment applications and she could never serve on a jury. She would be prohibited from voting for a period of time, though each state has different time frames for that rule, the attorney said. She may not be able to secure student loans either, he said, and she might not be allowed to adopt or obtain a childcare license.
Graves, Hunt’s attorney, had earlier asked that the charges be reduced to a misdemeanor.
“This is a life sentence for behavior that is all too common, whether male, female, gay, straight,” Graves said at a Wednesday news conference.
“High school relationships may be fleeting,” she said, “but felony convictions are forever.”
