Amanda Bynes has been on a solo downward spiral since her move to New York — cutting off almost everyone in her life that was close to her — but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the former Nickelodeon actress has recently reconnected with her concerned parents.
“Amanda reconnected with her parents this week and it was a really positive talk on both ends,” a source close to the embattled actress told Radar.
“Her parents are good people who are genuinely concerned for her. And Amanda misses them, so she finally called them up.”
According to the insider, the call went so well that a reunion might soon be in store for the Bynes family.
“The last place Amanda wants to be is Los Angeles. She likes New York and doesn’t want to leave,” the insider revealed.
“But Amanda’s parents really want to see her so they’re thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week.”
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported two weeks ago, Amanda’s heartbroken family believed her bizarre behavior was a “cry for help,” but felt they were “powerless to do anything” because she refused their help.
But now, it seems there’s hope for Amanda’s parents Lynn and Rick to check in with their daughter and gauge how out of control she really is.
“Amanda is totally acting odd, but she’s not crazy at all like people are making her out to be,” the source told Radar.
“She’s just going through a hard time in her life and maybe not coping with it like she should be.”
They’re “thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week.”
Fly out there RIGHT NOW, you idiots! What the hell is wrong with these people? Amanda is clearly crying out to you, yet you [may] fit it into your schedule sometime next week?! Good lord.

A teenage boy who used an iPad to arrange a meeting with an alleged prostitute ended up with a different experience than he’d intended.
The boy, 14, from the Chicago suburb Prospect Heights, set up the intended encounter using a website for sexual liaisons, police say.
CBS Chicago reports when the woman arrived at the teenager’s home Wednesday, she allegedly sprayed him with pepper spray, stole the iPad, a piggy-bank and a jar full of money.
Police were able to track the suspect when she later used the iPad.
Dareka Brooks, 22, of Milwaukee, was charged with one count of armed robbery. Her bond was set at $10,000. Her next court appearance is set for May 31.
The teenage victim is safe, police said.

What does it take to get a rent-controlled apartment in New York City?
For the 62-year-old sister of the mayor of Salt Lake City, it was a death-bed adoption by a senile 85-year-old man in order to claim rights to his Queens apartment and its $100-a-month rent.
Although Pamela Becker grew up in a privileged family — her actual father, the late Ralph Becker, was US ambassador to Honduras during the Ford administration — she has chosen a low-rent lifestyle in Long Island City. And she took a curious route to get there.
Married at the Waldorf-Astoria in 1976 and later divorced, Becker came to Long Island City in the 1990s. A cat-sitting gig brought her to a six-unit apartment building on 47th Road.
There, she met Nicholas “Uncle Nicky” DeTommaso, a retired dock worker and generous man who liked to keep his door open and cook for his neighbors.
DeTommaso was married for just six weeks in 1950 and had lived in the 47th Road building his whole life. Friends described him as a gregarious “Star Trek” fan.
Becker befriended him and would take him shopping. By 2002, she had moved into the two-bedroom railroad-flat apartment.
“She has a way of working on you until she gets what she wants,” according to a neighbor.
Becker managed to get a power of attorney for DeTommaso in 2007, meaning she could make financial and legal decisions for him.Less than a month before DeTommaso died, Becker got the big prize: a new dad with deep pockets and piddling rent.
Her adoption was formalized on June 23, 2009, and she had already become the beneficiary of his life insurance and pension, records show.
Becker told The Post she took good care of DeTommaso as his health flagged, but denied he was senile.
The onetime yoga instructor got DeTommaso to buy her a series of cars even though he did not drive, the neighbor said.
“I feel sorry for her; she doesn’t have anyone,” DeTommaso would tell his friends.
Becker managed to get a power of attorney for DeTommaso in 2007, meaning she could make financial and legal decisions for him.“Some people said I should marry him. I didn’t want to marry him — that’s gross. I don’t do stuff like that,” Becker said from the flat where she lives with two dogs and a cat.
When DeTommaso died, the building’s owners thought the unit would be available and they could charge market-rate rent of $1,500 a month. They were shocked to learn Becker had been adopted by her elderly roommate and claimed she would “remain in this apartment for as long as I live.” She even changed her name to Maria DeTommaso.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker Jr. said through a spokesman that his sister has “some challenges” and had been estranged from the family for “quite some time.” He said he was unaware of her adoption.
But the “family ties” may have broken for Becker. The state Division of Housing and Community Renewal last month ruled she was not entitled to the apartment because she lived as a “family member” in the apartment for only 22 days before DeTommaso’s death.
“I’m legally adopted,” insisted Becker, who has refused to move out. “I’m going to win this battle.”

The defense was back, just like it used to be. Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s dad was back, too, just like he used to be.
And Mayweather was a winner once again – just like he always is.Mayweather fought as if he had never left the ring, coming back from a year’s absence Saturday night to win a unanimous 12-round decision over Robert Guerrero in their welterweight title fight.
The game plan was defense, and Mayweather followed it perfectly. With his father directing from the corner after a 13-year absence, he dominated Guerrero in a performance not totally expected at the age of 36.
“I needed my father tonight,” Mayweather said. “My defense was on point and he told me to stick with my defense and that the less you get hit the longer you last.”
Mayweather was masterful at times, landing thudding right hands and bloodying Guerrero’s face in a performance that mimicked some of his best fights. Mayweather hurt Guerrero on several occasions, including a series of right hands near the end of the eighth round that buckled Guerrero’s knees.
All three judges scored the bout 117-111. The Associated Press had it 119-109.
“We did it again,” Mayweather said after earning at least $32 million for his night’s work. “I take my hat off to Robert Guerrero. He’s a true warrior.”
If it wasn’t terribly pleasing to the crowd of 15,880, it was terribly effective. Mayweather made a fighter who hadn’t lost in eight years look befuddled as he danced and moved and shot out right hands with increasing frequency.
He remained unbeaten in 44 fights and, more importantly, looked so fresh that he may follow through on his plan to fight again in September.
“I was looking for the knockout but I hurt my hand,” Mayweather said. “I feel bad I didn’t give the fans the knockout.”

Where were the parents?
According to NBC Miami
Homicide detectives in Broward County, Florida are talking with a 13-year-old boy who they believe shot his 6-year-old sister.
According to NBC Miami, the shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. in Oakland Park on Saturday night.
“They were playing hide and go seek. I don’t know how it went down but he shot his sister,” neighbor Peter Milano explained.
“They just carried her out in her hands and you can tell above her chest area she had a hole where she was shot,” neighbor Justin Latoutrrette told WSVN.
Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dani Moschella said that the two children were at home alone when the incident happened.
“We just don’t know at this point if this was an accident or if it was intentional,” Moschella said.
“It is very difficult when dealing with children, specifically children who’ve been through a very traumatic situation,” she pointed out. “This family will never be the same after tonight, no matter how it ends up.”
Another neighbor told The Miami Herald that the “little boy just sat there rocking back and forth… It’s just so devastating. They had just moved in two weeks ago.”
Under Florida law, the parents could be charged with a third-degree felony if police determine that the gun was “within the reach or easy access of a minor” and was used to cause injury or death.
The 6-year-old girl was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Moschella reported that she was in critical but stable condition as of Sunday night.
Something needs to be done about these parents who leave guns around for their kids to easily get and shoot somebody. We know we need gun control, but we need people control as well.

Lauryn, Uncle Sam plays no games.

Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to spend 3 months in FEDERAL PRISON for tax evasion … even though she claims she paid off her nearly $1 million bill to Uncle Sam before sentencing.
A judge in Newark, New Jersey dished out the sentence moments ago … and told Hill that after she completes her stint behind bars, she’ll spend 3 more months on house arrest … followed by 9 months of supervised release.
Before the hearing, Hill’s attorney told the media the singer scraped together more than $970,000 to repay her debt to the government.
The 37-year-old former Fugee pled guilty last year to three counts of tax evasion for failing to file returns on $1.8 million she earned from 2005 to 2007. Lauryn’s attorney asked for mercy because of her charity work and 6 kids … but the judge wasn’t buying it.
During the hearing, the judge ordered Hill to report to prison by July 8. It’s unclear where Hill will serve her time.
Hill was present during the hearing, and delivered a statement to the judge in which she compared her situation to slavery.
“I was put into a system I didn’t know the nature of. … I’m a child of former slaves. I got into an economic paradigm and had that imposed on me,” Hill said.
She continued, “I sold 50 million units … now I’m up here paying a tax debt. If that’s not likened to slavery, I don’t know what is.”
Like we said before, that smooth chocolate skin and soulful voice makes her a target in jail. Hopefully, she can figure out a master plan to keep the savages off of her.
