Hampton University Student Drowns At Campus Pool Party

A 17-year-old Hampton University student drowned at a pool party Wednesday night.
University officials say lifeguards and paramedics responding to Holland Hall couldn’t revive David Esan, who was in his freshman year at HU.
The party was sponsored by the Freshman Class, HU spokeswoman Yuri Milligan said.
Hampton City Police say multiple 911 calls were made about a possible drowning at 11:47 p.m. and that Hampton Fire crews responded.
In a statement, the university said, “We extend our deepest sympathy to David’s family and friends for their profound loss.”
Esan, from Randallstown, Maryland, was a pharmacy major, a member of the choir and lived in Harkness Hall. The university says he was recognized as one of Harkness Hall’s “16 Men of Excellence” for his commitment to academics and community service.
Grief counselors were being made available for students.
The Hampton University Police Dept. is handling the investigation.

Perez Hilton Shares The First Photos Of His New Son

Weeks after announcing he’d become a first-time dad, Perez Hilton is formally introducing his son, Mario Armando Lavandeira III.
The celebrity blogger, multimedia entrepreneur and actor, who will turn 35 on March 23, spoke at length to The Los Angeles Times about his decision to become a single father.
“I knew it was going to happen this way because boyfriends and husbands may come and go, but kids are forever,” Perez, who says he has had one serious relationship in the past five years, told the publication. “I didn’t want to keep waiting.”
Prior to his big revelation in February, Perez says only his mother, sister, lawyer and business manager knew that he’d found an egg donor and a surrogate in 2012. Mario Armando Lavandeira III was born on Feb. 16, exactly one month ahead of his March 16 due date.
We hope the young boy is healthy, wealthy and wise despite is crazy azz daddy.

Kim Kardashian Wants To Rent Out Hospital Floor For Delivery
The reality star is reportedly set to rent out an entire hospital floor in Los Angeles for her delivery, the way Bey and Jay-Z did when they had Blue Ivy last year.

Sources told the U.K.’s Daily Star that “Kim’s taking the preparations for childbirth very seriously. She wants everything to be perfect and, luckily for her, money is no object.” Apparently, Kim, 32, has been reading her baby books and discovered the first moments of a child’s life are very important, so she wants her to come into the world in peace and quiet and away from prying eyes.
“Her room will be totally sound-proofed before the delivery,” adds the Daily star. “She wants all outside influences and noise of traffic muted.” Supposedly, Kim also plans to alter the mood by using dimmed, colored lights and soothing ambient music.
Kimye’s baby is expected in July and there are already speculations that Kim and her man Kanye West will name the baby North, full name North West.
Earlier this month, the reality star was rushed to the doctor, following a flight from Paris with a miscarriage scare. She was ordered to lie low and rest, but is seemingly still at it with her jet-setting life.
Kim Kardashian’s rep declined to comment on the record.
If she really wanted quiet and privacy, she’d have a home birth, or go to a private birthing center. This, like everything else in her life, is a publicity stunt. Poor kid.

Theo Huxtable is once again a single man. After over two years of dating, Malcolm-Jamal Warner has split with girlfriend Regina King, a source confirms to Us Weekly — and it wasn’t the most amicable of partings. “He said he wasn’t feeling it anymore,” the source adds, explaining that Warner, 42, asked King and her young son (with ex-husband Ian Alexander Jr.) to move out of the house they shared. “She’s still very brokenhearted,” says the insider of the Southland actress, 42.
Friends since the 1980s when both were child TV stars — Warner on The Cosby Show and King on 227 — the twosome only rarely opened up about their romance. “I believe the universe has a plan, and we probably wouldn’t have been ready years ago. We both had to do whatever we had to do to be ready for each other now,” Jerry Maguire actress King told Parade in January 2012.
Said Warner in an October 2011 interview with BET: “We like to protect what we have because it’s very special and very precious . . . But I will say that it’s a relationship that makes all the sense in the world.”
The couple shot down engagement rumors in early 2011. King divorced Ian Alexander Sr. after a decade of marriage back in 2007. Warner has never wed and has no children.
“Malcolm and I have a lot in common,” King told Essence in January 2011. “we’ve both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us. Things are maturing nicely.”
Theo just broke up with Brenda like that — put her and her son out of his crib and now they gotta move back to 227.

GOP Goon Saxy Chambliss has joined in with the Republican meat head motor-mouth bandwagon that manages to spew ridiculousness at every turn. Today’s topic? Gay marriage.

Since Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) announced his support for marriage equality last week, other Republican lawmakers have been asked to clarify their own positions on same-sex marriage.
Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), for example, both explained that they would still oppose marriage equality even if they had children who came out as gay. But Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) offered Politico a different explanation:
Chambliss: I’m not gay. So I’m not going to marry one.
Though context is lacking, his conflation of the adjective “gay” and noun “one” is offensive on its face (i.e. he’s not going to marry “a gay.”) But Chambliss’s comment reflects a common sentiment among Republicans who oppose policies that don’t apply to them — particularly any with specific protections for minorities.
So, he’s basically not in favor of marriage equality because the people who are looking to get married are not “like him.” Oh.

Miami Dolphins Player Arrested For Fighting Son
Via USA Today reports:
ormer Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mark Duper is facing charges he beat up his 17-year-old son during a series of fights at their Jacksonville home.
Jacksonville police say the 54-year-old Duper, following his arrest Wednesday, spent the night in jail before posting a $5,000 bail and being released Thursday afternoon.
Police say Duper attacked his son, Marcus, three times Wednesday night, twice knocking him out.
Former Dolphins defensive end Hugh Green said he witnessed the brawls and that Marcus Duper started the fight and his father acted in self-defense.
Duper caught 511 passes for 8,869 yards and 59 touchdowns in his 11-year career with Miami.

Hollyweird man candy Laz Alonso is giving the ladies (and some of the fellas) an eye full of swag on the cover of this men’s edition of XEX Magazine.
The veteran actor, who is currently starring opposite Meagan Good in the new NBC drama series “Deception,” recently sat down with XEX to dish on his bangin bawwwdied co-star, staying grounded in Hollyweird and much more.

Can you tell us a little about your character?
“Will is a lot different from a lot of characters I’ve played. You will see a man that is still in love with Meagan’s character Joanna. An Ex that is vulnerable and caring and although still strong, he shows his insecurities as a man who no longer has the woman he’s lost. It’s a delicate balance of love, passion, and trying to remain professional.”
Deception has a wonderful cast. What was it like working with such talent as Megan Good, Katherine Lanassa, and Victor Garber?
“I have worked with Megan on other projects, and have seen her growth as an actor. She is doing an amazing job and I am really happy to get cast opposite actors that make me step my game up every scene. Katherine and Victor are always on point and make me always feel like I have to bring my A game to work. I love working with actors that make me raise my performance bar.”
You’ve been a successful actor for years. What motivates you in this changing industry? How do you stay grounded?
“Staying grounded isn’t the problem. My challenge is accepting the change that is happening in the industry. Unfortunately in some ways it’s becoming more commercial and less about telling great stories. But we must do our best to keep it as authentic as possible.”
You are a part of the new breed of emerging leading men in Hollywood…What is your personal style? Do you consider yourself a trendsetter?
“I would much rather be someone who “inspires” than “sets trends”. Trends come and go, but inspiration will always last. I have my own personal rugged, military inspired style. It’s purpose driven clothing that fits, accessories that mean something to me. But I love nice materials and a nice fitted look. It’s clean.”
With all of the rapidly changing fashion trends out on the scene right now, what or who (as far as designers) inspires some of your best looks on the red carpet?
“I love Zegna suits. And believe it or not, Uggs men’s line has a crazy apparel line, Rag and bone pants, Vincent, Diesel, G-star, Rockstar, Converse, and combat boots. I like boutique clothes. Not a big box mall type shopper. The smaller designers are leading fashion right now and you see the bigger brands following them.”
Where do you see yourself 5 to 10 years from now in the film/tv/fashion industry? Personal Life/family?
“I don’t know where I’ll be nor do I plan that far ahead anymore. I try to live in the moment, enjoy it as much as possible and work hard today and now. Sometimes we get so caught up about the future we miss what is going on right now. You can chase the future, but it’s coming regardless. Enjoy the now.”
Well, we’re definitely enjoying the now if it means more of this face on the small….or big….screen. The Spring 2013 Men’s Edition of XEX Magazine hits newsstands April 5th.

Vince Wilfork: a 375-pound (on a good day) monster of a defensive tackle with the New England Patriots. He’s well on his way to being a Hall of Famer. He’s a freakishly quick, scary an individual. His wife can be seen in this GIF from last season high-fiving a friend and MFing nobody in particular in a celebratory manner. Ted Johnson, a former Patriots linebacker (won three Super Bowls, played at the University of Colorado), is now hosting a radio show in Houston. He was asked who the ugliest spouse was on the Patriots during his time there.
Now at this point ol’ Ted had a decision to make. Answer the question outright and say what he really feels, or spare an ex-teammate some embarrassment and possibly save himself a fade.
Ted chose the former.
“He won’t hear this – Vince Wilfork,” said Johnson.
Welp Ted, Vince DEFINITELY heard that, and you might want to consider purchasing a pistol.
