Damn…Boehner’s orange azz isn’t even tryin’ to keep things cool.

According to The Huffington Post, Boehner didn’t nominate a SINGLE woman or minority in the mix of the 19 House Committee Chairs he announced.

Guess all that chitchatter earlier this month that had Republicans trying to appeal to women and minorities didn’t mean isht!

The one female committee chair that House Republicans currently have, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), is stepping down because her term is up. While there are still two lower-tier House committees awaiting a chair assignment — the Ethics Committee and House Administration — neither committee has any women or minority members.

At least one Senate Democrat was quick to point out that something is missing from the Republican lineup.

“Disappointed to see House committee chairmanships in the 113th Congress will not include a single woman. -PM,” tweeted Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), who included a link to Boehner’s press release announcing the chair posts.

A House Republican leadership aide declined to comment on the lack of diversity in the party’s committee leadership. The aide noted, though, that GOP leaders just put four women in party leadership. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash) is the new House Republican Conference Chair, Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kansas) is conference vice chair, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) is conference secretary, and Rep.-elect Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) will represent freshman members in party leadership.

To be fair, House committee chairs are typically chosen based on their seniority on the committee, and most committees don’t have Republican women or minorities at senior levels. In addition, there just aren’t that many House Republican women and minorities to go around. In the 113th Congress, which kicks off in January, House Republicans will have 20 women in their camp, compared to 61 House Democratic women. You can count on two hands the number of House Republicans who are minorities. By contrast, in the new Congress, the House Democratic Caucus will have a majority of women and minorities for the first time in history.

Still, that doesn’t mean Republican leaders couldn’t have picked at least one woman or minority for a committee leadership post. Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich.), who is currently eighth in seniority on the House Homeland Security Committee, had a decent shot at taking over that committee. Instead, the chair post went to Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), who is ranked fifth in seniority.

House Democratic leaders haven’t announced who will be the ranking Democrats on each of the committees, but they clearly dominate on the diversity front. Out of the 19 major House committees, as many as nine of the ranking Democrats are expected to be a woman or a minority. Among the more powerful posts: Either Rep. Nita Lowey (N.Y.) or Marcy Kaptur (Ohio) is poised to take the top Democratic slot on the Appropriations Committee, Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) is expected to be the ranking Democrat on Financial Services and Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), who is African-American, who will keep his top slot on Judiciary.

A senior Democratic aide reveled in the fact that Republicans can’t seem to figure out how to diversify.

“One would think House Republicans would learn from their mistakes. But they have elected a roster of committee chairs that represent their ranks: old white men,” the aide said.

Boehner announced his new chairmen after the House Republican Steering Committee met behind closed doors for most of Tuesday.

House committee chairs are term-limited, so all of the new chairmen are replacing someone who had to step down.

Still, one lawmaker obtained a waiver to go around House rules and stay on as committee chair in the next Congress, despite his term being up: Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) will remain atop the House Budget Committee.

SMH. All old white men AND Paul Ryan’s brown-nosin’ azz weasels his way in for another term?!?!

The amount of antibiotics pumped into pigs is just plain ‘ole ridiculous!

According to The Huffington Post:

A new Consumer Reports investigation of pork sold in grocery stores found that a startlingly large proportion of tested meat contained one or more potentially harmful bacteria, some of which showed signs of antibiotic resistance, raising new concerns about the safety of the national pork supply.

But the investigation didn’t find the pathogens traditionally associate with pork — trichinosis and salmonella — to be the most widespread problems. Instead, a whopping 69 percent of the pork chop and ground pork samples tested by the magazine contained Yersinia enterocolitica bacteria, which sickens about 100,000 people a year, many of them children. Eleven percent contained Enterococcus bacteria and 7 percent contained Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Another 4 percent contained salmonella and 3 percent contained listeria.

In general, the ground pork samples were more likely to harbor pathogens than the chop samples.

The overwhelming majority of the bacteria found in the samples was resistant to at least one form of antibiotic — ranging from 63 percent of the Enterococcus to 93 percent of the Staphylococcus aureus. And many of those that were resistant to one kind of antibiotic were also resistant to several others. Most experts believe that the widespread administration of non-therapeutic antibiotics in livestock — which makes animals grow more quickly than they otherwise would — contributes to the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the environment.

But antibiotics aren’t the only drug given to livestock. The Consumer Reports investigators also found traces of the drug ractopamine, which promotes growth and leanness in pigs, in about a fifth of the samples tested. Ractopamine is legal and generally considered fairly safe in America, but it is banned in China, Taiwan and most of the EU, and has been associated with anxiety and restlessness among those who ingest too much.

The nearly 200 samples came from major grocery chains and national brands of pork from throughout the country.

Consumer Reports recommends that consumers cook all their pork to 160 degrees to ensure that the bacteria, at least, is killed. You can read the full report on the Consumer Reports website or in the January 2013 issue of the magazine.

Rajon Rondo And Kris Humphries Ejected From Game For Brawl

Damn, poor Kris Humphries stay catching the fade! Last time it was lyrical fade from Kanye, and this time the Celtics bust dat azz…

The Boston Celtics were bracing themselves for the possibility that point guard Rajon Rondo will be suspended by the league for his role in escalating a tussle that left three players ejected in Wednesday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets. After Nets forward Kris Humphries delivered a foul that sent Kevin Garnett crashing hard to the floor, Rondo took exception and immediately confronted Humphries, delivering a two-handed shove. The two then got tangled, with Rondo the aggressor, and spilled into the stands beneath the basket in front of the Celtics’ bench as players and coaches from both teams rushed onto the court with security and team personnel trying to defuse the situation.

Humphries ended up falling backward, but managed to pull Rondo’s jersey up over his head as the two were quickly swarmed. At the same time, Garnett and Gerald Wallace were jostling with each other nearby.

After a video review, the referees ejected both Humphries and Rondo for fighting — crew chief James Capers later explained to a pool reporter that, by going into the stands, the two were involved in a fight that required ejection. Humphries earned two technical fouls, including one for taking Garnett to the floor with a second personal foul after the initial contact.

But it’s Rondo that is likely to be in the crosshairs of the league. As Capers noted, “Rondo initiated everything that proceeded after the foul.”

With the ejection, Rondo’s 37-game streak of at least 10 assists was snapped, keeping him tied with John Stockton for the second-longest run in NBA history (and short of Magic Johnson’s 46-game record). Rondo had three assists over 18 minutes.

As for whether Garnett or Wallace threw a punch, Capers added, “As we reviewed it, no. They aggressively went to one another, and they basically pushed and extended on one another, but there was not a punch thrown.”

That might spare both players much more than a possible fine. Wallace had an earlier technical foul and the dust-up with Garnett left him ejected. Garnett remained in the game with only one technical.

Garnett admitted the team is worried about a possible suspension for Rondo, but liked how his teammate stood up for him.

$587.5 Million Powerball Jackpot Won In Arizona And Missouri

According to CBS News:

Powerball officials say tickets sold in Arizona and Missouri matched all six numbers to win the record $587.5 million jackpot. Now the hunt for the winners begins. Early Thursday morning, Sue Dooley, a production coordinator for the Multi-State Lottery Association, told CBS Radio News that one winning ticket had been bought in each state.

The numbers drawn Wednesday night were:

5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6

Dooley told CBS Radio News that the jackpot increased to $587.5 million by the time of the drawing, making the cash option $384 million, which will be split equally. An additional 8,924,123 players won smaller prizes, including about 60 who each won a million-dollar prize for matching five numbers, Dooley said.

It was not clear whether the winning tickets belonged to individuals or were purchased by groups. Arizona lottery officials said early Thursday morning they had no information on that state’s winner or winners but would announce where it was sold during a news conference later in the day. Lottery officials in Missouri did not immediately respond to phone messages and emails seeking comment.

Americans went on a ticket-buying spree in recent days, the big money enticing many people who rarely, if ever, play the lottery.

Wow. We wonder if the winners will publicize themselves…

NBA superstar Andrew Bynum is suing his next door neighbors, claiming they’re violent, racist hooligans — but the neighbors have fired back … claiming Bynum is the REAL a-hole.

Bynum — a former member of the L.A. Lakers — claims that ever since he moved into his fancy home in Westchester, CA more than 7 years ago, he’s been constantly harassed by his neighbors, Ramond and Cindy Beckett.

According to his lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Bynum says … the Becketts have objected to his “profession, his race, his friends, his cars and his taste in music.”

Bynum claims the Becketts have behaved like petulant children — throwing coins at his Ferrari (which chipped the paint), screaming at him about his music, and even banging the side of his house with “a long stick.”

But the Becketts quickly responded to the lawsuit with a countersuiit of their own — TRASHING Bynum as the neighbor from hell who only sued them to preemptively strike against the lawsuit they had been planning.

In their legal docs, the Becketts UNLOAD on the NBA star — claiming he’s guilty of the following misdeeds:

– brandishing FIREARMS in an attempt to intimidate the Becketts
– “apparently” using drugs and allowing weed smoke to drift next door
– blasting loud, profane rap music (including the song “Currency” by Trina)
– blasting his video games at “window-shaking volumes”
– letting his dogs run loose through the neighborhood
– constantly racing his luxury cars at dangerous speeds

Bynum has denied the allegations … and according to docs filed by Andrew, the Becketts have sold their house since the lawsuit was filed … so they’re no longer neighbors.

SMH. Who blasts video games to “window shaking” volumes??? SMH.

Lindsay Lohan Arrested

Lindsay Lohan was ARRESTED at 4 AM Thursday in New York City for allegedly punching a woman at a New York City nightclub … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Lohan was at Club Avenue when she got into some sort of argument with a female patron and it became physical. We’re told cops came and arrested Lindsay for allegedly assaulting her.

Law enforcement tells us prior to the fight words were exchanged between Lindsay and the woman as they sat in separate booths near each other. Lindsay said something to the effect of, “Give me my space.” Some time passed and then, for some reason, Lindsay allegedly punched the girl in the left side of her face.

We’re told by the time cops arrived Lindsay had left the club and was a passenger in a car that was leaving the area. Cops intercepted the car and made the arrest.

At the time of this post Lindsay is still at the police station.

And this isn’t Lindsay’s only legal problem. TMZ broke the story … she is about to be charged with lying to cops in June after her car accident on Pacific Coast Highway. She told them she was a passenger in the Porsche when actually she was driving.

And, if Lindsay is formally charged with the latest crime, it could trigger yet another probation violation.

UPDATE 7AM ET: We’re told Lindsay is still at the police station getting booked for third degree misdemeanor assault, and she’s “visibly tired” at this point.

SMH!!!!! You going to jail now! Hopefully the person she punched was the screenwriter for Liz & Dick.

Illamasqua Cosmetics Company Defends Use Of Blackface

Illamasqua makeup company is coming under fire for showing an ad as part of a holiday promotion that features a model painted black.

The British company has defended what is being referred to as a ‘blackface’ image in the face of growing controversy, which began as soon as the firm posted the image to its Facebook account.

After also posting the ad on Pinterest, the company received a backlash of complaints from users who immediately noted the resemblance of the ad’s styling to stereotyped portrayals of African-Americans from blackface minstrelsy.

In addition, the ad’s slogan — “Not Dreaming of a White Christmas” — underscored the racial undertone perceived in the company’s message by many. Most have been critical of the campaign.

“Blackface? Really. That’s disappointing Illamasqua,” wrote one user on Pinterest.

Yet, some defended the look as purely artistic.

“This isn’t blackface,” said a supporter. “Just an editorial interpretation of the opposite of white.”

Illasmasqua took the black-only ad down at first when racist accusations mounted, but then reposted it on Facebook along with a mirror image of the same model painted white. In addition, the firm offered the following explanation:

We thank and acknowledge your comments regarding the above image. Obviously it was never our intention to cause offence; Illamasqua has always celebrated the right to self-expression and we continually push creative and artistic boundaries, priding ourselves on working with models of many ethnic backgrounds to reinforce this point. Alex Box, Illamasqua’s Creative Director, has emphasised that this campaign is about colour ON the skin, not colour OF the skin, depicting polarity between the two images (both images are the same model) not race.

Poor little Nahla…

According to US Magazine:

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry have called a truce in their bitter custody battle over daughter Nahla, 4. On Thursday, Nov. 29, the Cloud Atlas actress, 46, and her model ex, 37, “reached an amicable agreement” over the care of their child, Berry’s attorney, Blair Berk, informed E! News in a handwritten note. No details were released about what that agreement is, but for now, at least, the former couple have called a ceasefire.

“There will be no further statement on the matter,” Berk’s message read. The settlement comes just one week after Aubry came to blows with Berry’s fiance, French actor Olivier Martinez, at Berry’s home on Thanksgiving. Following that fight, an emergency protective order was put in place preventing Nahla’s dad from coming near his ex or their child. (That order was set to expire today.)

SMH. Glad they were finally able to work things out, because we’re not sure if Gabriel’s grill can withstand any more beatings.

Hope Solo Says Jerramy Stevens Never Hit Her

According to TMZ reports:

Gold medal-winning soccer star Hope Solo insists … her new husband Jerramy Stevens has never laid a hand on her — despite his assault arrest two weeks ago, following an alleged altercation between the couple.

There was lots of speculation that Stevens — a former NFL tight end — had attacked Solo, but she just released a statement, saying, “My beautiful husband & i happy as can be! [sic] Let me set the record straight!!! Jerramy has NEVER treated me poorly! The truth always prevails!”

Jerramy Stevens was arrested following the November 12th incident in Washington, when cops say they noticed blood on Hope’s elbow.

Jerramy was released shortly after when a judge decided there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him.

So who exactly did Jerramy “assualt” if it wasn’t you Hope? We know you love your man, but you need more people if you’re gonna convince us that nothing went down in that night.

According to Sam Webb, chairman of the Communist Party USA, Obama’s re-election was “an enormous people’s victory” over racist white people, Bob Unruh reported at WND Wednesday. “The comment,” Unruh said, “was in a report to the Communist Party USA national committee from the party’s chairman, Sam Webb.” Webb said that Romney’s defeat and the defeat of the GOP in the Senate “bodes well for the future.”

“What stands out was the resolve of women and especially single young women to defend their rights and democracy generally; what was heartening was the readiness of millions of white workers and trade unionists to stand with the President even in a weak economy and in the face of unrelenting and crude racist appeals,” he added, without specifying what appeals were “racist.”

“He said blacks, Hispanics and women worked together to defeat ‘racist … white people’ and that it now is time for the Communist Party USA to work on the foundations established by Obama on issues regarding the environment, homosexual marriage and minorities to its potential,” Unruh added. Webb devoted a whole section of his lengthy report to “racist white people.”

This is what he had to say about those racist white GOP folks:

“It is easy to dismiss white people, including white workers, as not only racist, but also backward on a range of issues, such as peace, gun control, reproductive rights, gay marriage, and so forth,” he wrote, claiming that the white vote provides “ample evidence for this claim.”

Although Webb says that other factors, like the economy, may have played a role, “racism must have either taken up the biggest space in or is closely entwined with the bundle of resentments and wrong understandings that accounts for their voting behavior.” In other words, if you didn’t vote for Obama, you’re a backwards racist, a theme the Democrat-media complex is more than eager to play up. In addition to being racist, Webb accused Republicans of trying to manipulate the vote.

“While many things went into Obama’s victory, what was notable was the ability of the democratic movement to turn back Republican efforts to suppress the vote; what was of great import was the determination of the people’s movement (with labor in the lead) to reach, educate, and turn out tens of millions of American voters on Election Day; what not surprising was the continuing, strategic, and sometimes underappreciated role of the African American people (93 per cent voted for the president) in the front ranks (at the head in many instances) of the struggle for progress and democracy,” he added.

Webb claimed that Communists played a huge role in the election, and urged the Party to work harder to become more acceptable to mainstream Americans. He said the Party should “make a bigger effort to break into the mainstream media,” disregarding the blatant bias and blind acceptance of Communist Party ideas in the Democrat-media complex.

Mary J. Blige Sued By Bank

R&B star Mary J. Blige was hit with a lawsuit on Wednesday alleging the Grammy winner and her husband defaulted on a $2.2 million bank loan.

According to court documents filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, Signature Bank is seeking to recoup the original loan plus $58,000 in interest.

Blige, 41, who has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and her husband Martin Isaacs took out the loan in October 2011 and defaulted in July 2012, the suit alleges.

Blige’s publicist declined comment on the lawsuit. The singer’s attorney did not immediately return a request to comment.

The lawsuit also names Blige’s production company, Mary Jane Productions Inc.

The lawsuit is the latest financial headache for the New York City native. The “Family Affair” singer’s charity, The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now Inc, was accused earlier in this year of mishandling funds and cheating scholarship students.

Blige acknowledged the problems in a June interview.

“The lives of young women are at stake,” the singer told Reuters when asked about the allegations. “I feel what they feel. I don’t want them to suffer. I promised them something and I’m gonna deliver. Period.”

Kids these days! A pair of Ohio teens are in deep trouble for leaving some pretty hateful chalk graffiti outside the home of a black college basketball coach!

Two local teens have been charged with criminal mischief and ethnic intimidation for drawing a swastika and writing “white power” on the driveway outside the home of Louis Orr, men’s basketball coach at Bowling Green State University.

Two other boys have been charged with criminal mischief for chalking incidents at other properties the same night the coach’s house was hit, said Tim Atkins, chief assistant Wood County prosecutor in the juvenile division.

“These four young men decided to go ‘chalking’ where you take chalk and write inappropriate words on a person’s driveway and sidewalk,” he said, adding that only two of the teens are believed to have participated in the graffiti at Mr. Orr’s home in the Stone Ridge Golf Club neighborhood the night of Oct. 13.

Mr. Orr, who is black, contacted police Oct. 14 after his wife saw the markings.

Mr. Atkins said he does not believe the Bowling Green High School students were targeting the coach. He said they go to school with Mr. Orr’s nephew, Jackson, a sophomore who lives with the Orrs.

“It was racially insensitive, but it wasn’t done with malice to be racial,” Mr. Atkins said. “It was just stupid words chosen that, in this case, really crossed the line.”

One of the suspects, who is 17, is expected to admit to the delinquency charges and be sentenced Jan. 22 in Wood County Juvenile Court.

The other suspect in the case involving the Orrs’ home is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday. He is 16.

The other two boys, who are 15 and 17, also are to be arraigned in juvenile court Wednesday.

Mr. Atkins said at the coach’s request, he is attempting to arrange a meeting with the boys who were involved.

“He wants to meet with these two young men to express how it affected him and his family, how it is for an African-American, even in this day and age, to come out of his house and see that language and symbolism on his property,” Mr. Atkins said.

He added that the four teens are not suspected in an unrelated incident reported the next day in which a black man found a watermelon smashed on his car in the 200 block of East Merry Avenue, as well as a note with a racial epithet. No one has been charged in that case.

SMH, sounds like this is not a great neighborhood for African-Americans! We’re glad these kids got caught, hopefully they get that good a$$ whupping that should be coming to them!
