NeNe Leakes Talks About Marriage With Gregg

If your man thinks the grass is greener on the other side, than let him wander — this according to reality star turned marriage counselor NeNe Leakes!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her ex-husband, Gregg, are opening up to the December issue of Ebony magazine about why they got divorced after 15 years of marriage and hint that they will be heading to the altar once again in the not too distant future, and RadarOnline.com has the details.

Leakes maintains that she had nothing to do with the demise of their marriage and that it was all on the shoulders of her wayward husband.

“It hurt me to file for divorce, but I had to see it through. I let him know you’re going to be my husband and you’re not going to be somebody else’s anything, but if you plan to be somebody else’s anything, then we can’t be together,” Leakes reveals. “Gregg needed to feel what it was like without me. I wanted to let him see if the grass was really greener on the other side. He brought his a** back, because the grass is very brown over there.

“Not only have we divorced, but we are back together as a couple. This is our new normal. I’m telling you, TV is a beast. It will make you do s**t you never thought you’d do.”

Gregg also chimes in on the reason behind their split.

“To expose oneself is the beginning of healing and the beginning of forgiveness. I have never blamed her for anything except being outstanding,” he explains. “If I didn’t blame her [for the relationship’s demise], I must have had shortcomings. Whatever it was, I refused to have my family become another statistic. I fought to get my family back, and that’s what I did with the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

And while having all of their dirty laundry aired on national television may seem like a bad thing, he believes that it actually helped other people going through similar situations.

“What we went through in exposing our situation had the ultimate benefit. It’s about helping someone else learn from what we went through,” he says.

When asked if he was planning on putting a big ring back on his ex-wife’s finger, Gregg played coy and encouraged people to find out by watching this season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“Stay tuned,” he says. “How do you know I haven’t already?”

The only thing greener on her side is the money. Gregg might be old as hell but he’s no dummy.

This week’s New York Magazine shows us an in-depth scope of how Trevell went from signing a record with Bad Boy Entertainment and moving out of the Johnson Houses, only to lose it all to drugs and a troubled conscience.

Highlight’s include:

Coleman on how his guilty conscience never left him – “It wasn’t something I was going through periodically; it was something that was like a knot at all times. Sometimes I didn’t even want to walk with my head up. I just wanted to look down. If I stood up, I felt funny, like, ‘Who am I to be looking up?’”

On getting arrested for drug charges inside 1591 Park where he had shot the man: “Maybe that was my way of confronting that demon. Or maybe I was just becoming that demon. Or that demon was consuming me. That’s how crazy I was getting.”

On turning himself in: “I don’t know how me being incarcerated—I can’t measure how much it makes anything any better. But I just know what I had to do.”

On receiving his 15-year sentence: “I was happy. It sounds crazy to say you were happy about getting a fifteen-to-life sentence, but I was. It just seemed to me like the end of a nightmare … I was living in 1993 for seventeen years.”

According to the Concord Monitor, Lisa Biron took a teenage girl to Canada, had her engage in intimate adult activity and convinced her to let it be filmed:

FBI agents swiftly arrested Lisa Biron yesterday morning as she awaited a hearing on child film charges at Manchester’s district court. About 9 a.m. FBI agents entered the courtroom, told Biron to leave her belongings and took her into an adjoining conference room where she remained for several minutes before coming out in handcuffs.

A few hours later in U.S. District Court in Concord, Biron, who is associated with a national coalition of Christian lawyers, was formally told of the federal charges against her: transportation with intent to engage in criminal activity, possession of child films and five counts of exploitation of children.

Judge Landya McCafferty decided to detain Biron yesterday, largely, she said, because she is believed to have broken most of the bail conditions imposed on the district-level children’s film charges.

A judge there ordered Biron last month to use her computer only for work, not possess weapons and have no contact with the teenage girl in the five videos and two pictures found on her computer.

The no-contact order was the only condition Biron appears to have honored, prosecutor Helen Fitzgibbon told McCafferty.

Fitzgibbon said since her release, Biron posted an advertisement on Craigslist, the same listing service where she met the individual who ultimately tipped off the Manchester police about the films and photos on her computer.

And when Biron was arrested yesterday, she told FBI agents who were preparing to search her home that they would find a loaded pistol under her mattress. Agents didn’t find that gun, but they did find 200 rounds of ammunition in Biron’s home, Fitzgibbon said yesterday. That was enough evidence for the judge, who said that while she didn’t consider Biron a flight risk, she was concerned her release would be dangerous for the community. She told Biron the evidence was “extremely troubling,” considering her career as a lawyer.

The federal charges against Biron are scheduled for trial in January. If convicted, she faces 10 years to life in prison on the transportation charge and 15 years to life in prison on each of the exploitation of children charges.

Biron is associated with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a group of lawyers who, according to their website, are committed to keeping “the door open for the spread of the Gospel” by advocating for “religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family.” In Concord, she worked with the ADF in defending a Pentecostal Church on Mountain Road in its tax fight against the city.

She recently served on the board of directors at Mount Zion Christian Schools in Manchester, according to the school’s headmaster.

On Biron’s Facebook page, which was taken down in recent weeks, she had listed the Bible as her favorite book.

Is this sweet or a lil’ too much?

Some are saying it’s a beautiful, selfless act and other’s are questioning the safety risks Cathy Donnelly took for her daughter’s own happiness.

According to The Daily Mail:

Cathy Donnelly, 58, is six months pregnant and will welcome her seventh grandchild into the world when she gives birth to her – before daughter Shannon Fischer raises the baby.

Mrs Fischer and her husband Jamie had been trying for two years when they discovered they couldn’t conceive due to scarring in her uterus.

So Mrs Donnelly mother of three and a grandmother of six, volunteered to be a surrogate mother for her daughter.

Mrs Fischer said: ‘The day I came home from my surgery mum said “I’ll do it”. She didn’t hesitate.’

Mrs Donnelly, from London in Ontario, Canada, said: ‘I felt bad for them – I just thought what’s nine months of my life? They are going to have a child for the rest of theirs? It’s not like I’m busy doing anything.’

Michael Murray, specialist at the Northern California Fertility Medical Center, says though there have been cases of mothers acting as surrogate for their daughters before it is typically something the medical community does not advise.

He said: ‘Usually it’s a close friend or a sister that acts as the gestational carrier – women who are over 45-years-old are not normally in good enough health.

‘Pregnancy for older women is much riskier. The most common complications are high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and premature child birth.’

But they were risks Mrs Donnelly was willing to accept and while she admits her pregnancy hasn’t been easy, she has had no complications so far.

‘It was long process and involved a heavy dose of fertility drugs for both of us but in the end it all paid off.

‘But it has been challenging. Now I’m showing I make sure people aren’t staring or looking at me because they’re probably thinking ‘look at that old lady.’

Mrs Donnelly said she did question whether she was doing the right thing and if everything would work out okay until she started to feel the baby move. Now her only concerns are about how she will feel once she has given birth.

‘I don’t know if I’ll feel like I’ve lost her, I don’t know how I’m going to feel,’ Mrs Donnelly said.

Shannon plans to name her daughter Zoey Hope Catherine after her mother. And for her the whole experience has made her cherish their mother-daughter relationship even more.

Kenan Thompson, who has been with the sketch comedy series since 2003, is attached to write, star in and executive produce an untitled comedy, which has received a script commitment from the network.

The single-camera comedy would star Thompson as Kenan Monroe, a guy who gives up his New York life and moves to his in-laws’ house in the suburbs, where he must contend with three generations of problems.

Michaels will executive produce through his Broadway Video banner and Universal Television, marking the second project he has set up this development season. Thompson started his career on the scripted side, with roles on The Steve Harvey Show, Sister, Sister and The Parkers, before co-starring on Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel.

He continues to be a featured performer on SNL, with sketches including “What’s Up With That” and impersonations including Whoopi Goldberg, Charles Barkley and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Pay attention folks! According to The Huffington Post, this is what a half-azzed apology from a wealthy CEO looks like!

Reading what has been written about statements I made on the effect of the Affordable Care Act on our franchisees reminds me of a quote from Lewis H. Lapham, former editor of Harper’s magazine: “People may expect too much of journalism. Not only do they expect it to be entertaining, they expect it to be true.”

Many in the media reported that I said Papa John’s is going to close stores and cut jobs because of Obamacare. I never said that. The fact is we are going to open over hundreds of stores this year and next and increase employment by over 5,000 jobs worldwide. And, we have no plans to cut team hours as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

Clearly there was some misunderstanding somewhere. The remarks that generated the headlines were made during an entrepreneur class I was asked to speak to at a Florida college. I was asked to share my experience as an entrepreneur and to provide the students with real-life small business situations. Unbeknownst to me, until she identified herself, a reporter was there.

Reporter: “My understanding is that if you’re a full time employee, which is 35 hours or over, you’d be covered. Or if you’re part time then you wouldn’t be. So wouldn’t some business owners just cut people down like 34 hours a week so they wouldn’t have to pay for health insurance?”

Me: “It’s common sense. It’s what I call lose-lose.”

Companies like Papa John’s are largely a collection of small independent businesses. The average Papa John’s franchisee owns three to four stores. Since our franchisees own the restaurants they operate, who they hire, how many hours they give each employee and what they pay each employee is up to them, not me or Papa John’s. Like any small business in these economic times, our franchisees are under a tremendous amount of pressure on costs.

During that same interview, talking about Obamacare I said, though it wasn’t widely reported:

“The good news is 100% of the population (full-time workers) is going to get health insurance. I’m cool with that.”
“We’re all going to pay for it. There’s nothing for free.”
“And this way I get to provide health insurance and I’m not at a competitive disadvantage … our competitors are going to have to do the same thing.”

Papa John’s, like most businesses, is still researching what the Affordable Care Act means to our operations. Regardless of the conclusion of our analysis, we will honor this law, as we do all laws, and continue to offer 100% of Papa John’s corporate employees and workers in company-owned stores health insurance as we have since the company was founded in 1984.

How the hell is this a ‘lose-lose situation’ when the dayum CEO isn’t losing a thing? Maybe because the worker’s losing out twice??

Fewer hours = not being eligible for insurance is going to start becoming the norm soon.

All of this for .11 fawking cents per pizza.

Trust me, the simpler it is, the more effective it is.’ Music is changing. If you don’t change with it, you’ll be at the casino performing: ‘How y’all feel out there tonight?’ I’m still learning how to stay relevant and current–and at the same time not lose who I am, not be too young.”

“Here’s what you’re going to unlearn now: Somehow you have to pull yourself away from media, not be so shiny in the next 10 years, because it hurts the art. When you go on talk shows, you have to be lighthearted, which helps and hurts. Now I’ve got to change the satellite a little bit. That’s the tricky part now. How do you navigate through the world you live in and still be an artist? Because that’s the only thing that’s going to survive.”

His car got rolled up on and his driver didn’t survive the hit.

According to TMZ:

Hector “Macho” Camacho is in critical condition after being SHOT multiple times in Puerto Rico tonight … this according to multiple reports.

The former boxing champ was reportedly in the passenger seat of a car around 7 PM local time … when another vehicle rolled up and someone opened fire … striking Camacho several times in the neck and face.

The driver of Camacho’s car was reportedly killed in the attack.

According to reports, Camacho was taken to a hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

Cops are investigating — so far, it’s unclear if police have identified any suspects.

This story is still unfolding as we keep everyone involved in our thoughts.

Apparently the poor have become too ‘entitled’ and our lazy azz parents should stop expecting so much!?!?

According to Think Progress, Goldman Sachs’ CEO is giving the common worker some advice:

Lloyd Blankfein — evidently taking a break from doing “god’s work” as the CEO of Wall Street behemoth Goldman Sachs — told CBS News’ Scott Pelley that he believes the retirement age needs to be raised because “in general, entitlements have to be slowed down and contained“:

BLANKFEIN: You’re going to have to undoubtedly do something to lower people’s expectations — the entitlements and what people think that they’re going to get, because it’s not going to — they’re not going to get it.

PELLEY: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid?

BLANKFEIN: You can look at history of these things, and Social Security wasn’t devised to be a system that supported you for a 30-year retirement after a 25-year career. … So there will be things that, you know, the retirement age has to be changed, maybe some of the benefits have to be affected, maybe some of the inflation adjustments have to be revised. But in general, entitlements have to be slowed down and contained.

PELLEY: Because we can’t afford them going forward?

BLANKFEIN: Because we can’t afford them.

Maybe working until a later age is fine for a Wall Street CEO whose net worth is $450 million. But it’s simply nonsense to assert that the retirement age needs to go up because Social Security is no longer affordable.

For starters, Social Security can pay full benefits for decades without any changes at all. (Imagine the accolades that would received if any other federal program had guaranteed funding for that stretch of time.) One simple change, raising the cap on the payroll tax, can guarantee that the program will pay nearly full benefits for three-quarters of a century. In the meantime, Social Security is statutorily barred from adding one dime to the federal deficit, so cutting it doesn’t change the nation’s deficit or debt picture.

Raising the retirement age, meanwhile, adversely impacts those workers most in need of a robust social safety net. While a year or two of extra work may not seem like much to a Wall Street CEO with his cushy corner office, for a factory worker or janitor, it can mean real problems. Life expectancy is only increasing for wealthier workers in non-physical jobs. Poorer workers doing physical labor have not seen the same gains. Overall, raising the retirement age to 70 would “cut benefits for the average retiree by 19 percent.”

Just in case you forgot, this is one of the Azzholes that got bailed out and lied during his testimony to Congress. And yes, he’s still sitting in his big office with his millions.
