Rittz’s Last Call is the #1 Rap Album in the country, according to SoundScan, which tracks album sales. It is the first #1 album of Rittz’s career and is a testament to the Georgia rapper’s rock-solid fanbase and to the work he and Strange Music have put in to cultivating his ever-growing legion of fans. Last Call is also the #3 Independent Album in the Country, the #4 R&B/Hip Hop Album this week, and the #11 album on the Billboard Top 200.
Streamed more than 1.6 million times last week, Last Call is Rittz’s fourth Strange Music album and includes several of the most introspective and powerful tracks of the lyrically nimble rapper’s career. The soul-stirring “I’m Only Human” finds Rittz examining the internal battles we all face, some we create for ourselves and some we are born into.
“I wanted to do something deep,” Rittz explains of the serious subject matter he explores on Last Call in general and on “I’m Only Human” specifically. “When coming into the world, we don’t get to choose who we are. We’re born into this world they way we are and have to deal with that.”
Less than two weeks ago, Rittz dropped the high-energy video for “Down For Mine,” another Last Call standout that features Rittz rapping in his trademark rapid-fire style. Then there’s “Indestructible,” a Last Call cut where Rittz explains the importance of standing tall in the midst of chaos and betrayal.
With Last Call at the top of the Rap Albums chart, Rittz is set to kick off his headlining Last Call tour Friday (October 13) in Davenport, Iowa. The 60-date jaunt is scheduled to wrap December 17 in Lake Worth, Florida, and includes stops in Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, and Atlanta.
