Miley Cyrus Turns “Bodak Yellow” Into A Pop Song

For whatever reason, Miley Cyrus is on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon every day this week. The segment that has caught everyone’s attention, however, is a bit commonly done on the show called, “Musical Genre Generator.” A generator on the screen “randomly” picks a popular song and pairs it with a genre, then Jimmy or his guest has to execute.

Unsurprisingly, by the end of the segment, the time came for Miley to ruin the song of the summer, “Bodak Yellow.” Hey, white people gotta jump on trends at some point, otherwise they’d never end. Cyrus’ pop rendition of “Bodak Yellow” features the poor Roots playing an upbeat version of the track in the background while Miley countrifies Cardi B.

It’s astonishing that Miley Cyrus even knows the words to “Bodak Yellow,” because according to her in many recent interviews, she can’t stand the sound of Hip-Hop music anymore. Weird. Go back to jumping in a flower field to win over some more of your fellow caucasians.

MILEY, PLEASE, LEAVE HIP-HOP ALONE.

Zendaya Covers Glamour

Zendaya is pure perfection. The 21-year-old actress who recently retired from Disney is currently covering Glamour and keeping it real. The star was interviewed by her young and woke cohort Yara Shahidi for the publication and the result was a beautiful convo on colorism and black female inspiration.

On bringing a black family to Disney:

“I didn’t feel like there was any other choice. I was like, ‘If I’m going to do this, this is how it has to be.’ There needs to be a black family on the Disney Channel. A lot of people who aren’t people of color can’t quite understand what it’s like to grow up and not see yourself in mainstream media. And you know, there is so much work left to be done.”

On colorism:

“I’ve talked about this before, but can I honestly say I would be in the position I’m in if I weren’t a lighter-skinned black woman? No.”

On being inspired by Shonda Rhimes, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama:

“ZENDAYA: I mean, Shonda—she saw something nobody else was doing and said, “I’m going to create it myself. I’m going to put strong, powerful women of color in lead roles and create narratives for different types of people.” And she owns a day. She owns Thursdays.

YARA: It’s hers. Don’t even come for her.

ZENDAYA: And then, Beyoncé. She took it to the next level with Lemonade. She’s got twins, and she’s banging. She’s killing it. And, of course, Michelle Obama, because that is an intelligent woman.

YARA: She’s the forty-sixth president that I recognize.

ZENDAYA: She’s my president. Who is going to convince her to run?”

Yara describes Zendaya as a “big sister” to her and it clearly shows.

“What I so deeply respect about Zendaya is that she’s actively helping to dismantle that myth,” says Yara. “She is showing young women how to speak our minds, stand up for our peers, and give love to the global community of women. Because, at the most basic level, we need to see a variety of characters whose likenesses reflect the society we live in.”

How woke and wonderful are these two young ladies?

Zendaya was also spotted in New York this week looking pretty in pink while leaving “Good Morning America.”

Court Expert Concerned About Baby Bonnie Bella

A Georgia family court judge has ordered both “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s” Joseline Hernandez and Stevie J to be drug tested after a court expert claimed that Joseline all but disappeared with their baby daughter.

Stevie J, Joseline and baby Bonnie were all in court Tuesday for a hearing on where the baby had been after the couple’s court monitor said she hadn’t been her in weeks.

Earlier this week a court expert – whose job it is to monitor the reality show exes parenting skills – complained to the judge that Joseline wouldn’t let her see the baby or let her know exactly where they were. The expert said she requested a welfare check with the baby several times over the last month, but Joseline ignored her. The expert also said that Joseline’s lawyer told her the baby was in Florida with her nanny, which may have violated a court order.

In a court order Oct. 3, Judge Jane Barwick emphasized that the baby is not allowed to leave the state of Georgia, except for a vacation of two weeks or less, and the court monitor has to know the baby’s whereabouts at all times. The judge also ordered the reality show exes to be complete a 12-Panel Drug Screen and a PEth test by 5 p.m. today. If they are in fact using drugs, the public will never know, because the judge ordered the results to be put under seal.

Puerto Rico Isn’t Satisfied With Trump’s Visit

The mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico went in on President Cheeto’s meeting with local leaders on the island Tuesday as a public relations stunt. It took him much longer than it should have to actually make his way to Puerto Rico, and once he actually made it, the results were less than satisfying to the people and their government.

“There was no exchange with anybody, with none of the mayors,” Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz told MSNBC.

She called out Donald for that super weird moment when he tossed paper towels to storm survivors in need of supplies, since Hurricane Maria left many on the island without basic necessities. The video circulated Twitter criticizing Trump for his lack of skill and for him trivializing peoples’ need for small items like paper towels.

She said on the subject: “This terrible and abominable view of him throwing paper towels and throwing provisions at people, it does not embody the spirit of the American nation. That is not the land of the free and the home of the brave, that beacon of democracy that people have learned to look up to across the world.”

She also perfectly summed up the president’s communications problems throughout these natural disasters and his entire presidency by calling him the “miscommunicator-in-chief.”

Safaree Doesn’t Think Nicki Is Actually Happy For Cardi

The rumors of a feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been swirling since Cardi started to get any type of success (as normally happens between Nicki and pretty much any other female). Though it might just be media fueling rumors to pit women against each other, many people have claimed in the past that Ms. Minaj is constantly blocking other people’s shine to ensure hers lasts as long as possible.

Whether that’s true or not can’t exactly be confirmed, but Nicki did wish Cardi a huge congratulations after “Bodak Yellow” reached number 1. There’s no way to tell if someone is sincere or not in a tweet, but would you blame Nicki for being a little salty that a fellow female came onto the scene and surpassed her own milestones so quickly?

Safaree, Nicki’s ex-boyfriend of 10+ years, seems to think that her congratulations was a whole bunch of BS.

The two former tings haven’t talked to one another, so it’s not any type of inside info that Safaree got from Nicki herself–but after being with somebody for so long, you would be privy to character traits that others aren’t. Safaree, with no hesitation at all, says that he knows Nicki isn’t happy that Cardi is getting so successful, and her well-wishes on Twitter were only to hide her bitterness. Yikes.

‘The Life Of Pablo’ Has Set A Record Over The Pond

Things have been changing in the music game due to the way streaming has completely taken over. Records are being created and set by artists who are reaching certifications that were previously only accessible by selling physical albums. The latest artist to establish a precedent is no secret to setting records. Kanye West’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ is U.K.’s first album to go gold through streaming alone.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) usually gives gold certification to albums that move over 100,000 units, while platinum status is granted at 300,000 units. Kanye recently passed the former mark through streams of his album, which wouldn’t have been counted before the BPI included streaming in their sales figures in 2015.

Here in the United States, ‘The Life Of Pablo’ went platinum back in April. That was a huge achievement, too, as it became the first streaming-only album to achieve platinum status.

Kenya Moore To Be Phased Off “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” Over Husband’s Refusal To Film

It’s looking more and more like Kenya’s about to be a “CANNED” peach! After losing her spot on the cast trip to Barcelona, more reports have emerged that say she won’t be on the show much longer.

According to Star Magazine:

“Kenya didn’t quit, but she is being disciplined and producers brought in Eva Marcille as a supporting cast member in her absence,” an insider said.

“Producers are paying her a massive salary to share her authentic life with the viewers and she refuses to do so,” The insider added, noting that cameras were banned from her June wedding to Marc Daly. “She will be fined by not getting paid for the trip episodes,” the insider said after reports surfaced that she was kicked off the Barcelona cast vacation. “She is going to be phased out of the show.”

It’s been rumored for months now that her goose might be cooked by refusing to have her new husband film the show, and now there’s a new theory about that too.

“She’s trying to use her relationship as leverage to re-negotiate her existing contract,” an insider previously said. “The network feels as though she’s using this as a tactic to get her salary in the same ballpark as Nene.”

Kenya’s been one of the show’s biggest sources of drama. Do you really think they’ll phase her out or all these stories just meant to pressure her into doing what the network wants?
