Hurricane Irma Devastates Almost The Entire Island For Barbuda
Sh!t got real in the Caribbean yesterday.
Hurricane Irma has been barreling toward south Florida for several days now, but before it touches the greater 50 states, it has left devastating destruction in the Caribbean according to ABCNews.
It is reported that 90% of the buildings and vehicles on the island of Barbuda have been destroyed. The eye of the storm literally sat over the island at around 2am Wednesday morning and spun 180 mph winds across the land, so much so that the National Weather Service’s wind-measuring anemometer broke.
Images of the damage are awe-inspiring and absolutely heart-breaking.
Sadly, the threat of additional catastrophic weather events isn’t over as meteorologists keep a close watch on Hurricane Jose that is currently following closely in Irma’s path.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the territories that have been or could be affected by these storms.

When news broke that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx went public with their relationship, we were far from surprised—we yawned, actually. After we reported on the not so secret coupledom of Tom Cruise’s ex-wife and his (ex) friend for yeaaars, pictures finally surfaced of them holding hands on the beach.
Mind you this all comes amid reports that Katie had to keep her their relationship secret because of a clause in her divorce contract that BANNED her from publicly dating for five years. Katie and Tom divorced in 2012.

“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source reportedly told Radar Online.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider added. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
And while some folks were confused to see the unlikely couple sweetly swirled up, others applauded Katie for ditching her creepy couch jumping ex for her funnyman bae.

Teen Rapper Wants To Change His Legal Name
Kodak Black has lost his bid to change his legal name to “Bill Kahan Blanco.”
A judge last week denied the Florida teen rapper’s motion to change his legal name from Dieuson Octave to Bill Kahan Blanco.
Kodak filed docs in June to change his given name, although it’s not clear why Kodak chose the name or what its significance is.
The rapper is currently on probation in Florida and facing seperate sex abuse charges in South Carolina, and it was unknown Thursday whether those issues were factors in the judge’s decision.
It also isn’t clear if Kodak’s son, King Khalid, 2, would have this new last name if the name change went through.
We’ve reached out Kodak’s lawyer for comment.

Mary J. Blige Says She Feels “Suckered” By Kendu Isaacs
Many of us watched what we thought was Mary J. Blige exorcising her demons during her visceral BET Awards performance, but the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is still hurting. Badly.
She recently sat down with Variety to promote her new Netflix movie “Mudbound” and revealed that her toxic marriage to Kendu Isaacs definitely helped her bring her character, Florence, to life on-screen:
It was a rough time for Blige in her personal life. Her marriage to her husband was crumbling. “I used a lot of my own heaviness from my own misery that I was living in that horrible marriage,” says the performer, who worked with an acting coach. “I was just dying in it. I knew something was wrong. I just couldn’t prove it. I just had all the heaviness of not feeling right, not feeling good. I gave it to Florence.”
She felt most conflicted about an aspect of her character that wouldn’t have been a hitch for most actresses. “The hardest part was intimacy,” she says about the scenes where she lies in bed and slow dances with her on-screen husband, Hap (Morgan). “I was married. I never touched another man other than my husband. I was petrified: ‘Oh God. I don’t want to do it.’” Rees took her aside and told her that she had to work on that. “You know what, Mary?” she told herself. “This is the job. This is acting. You’ve got to commit.” She delivered so convincingly, she made her director cry.
Mary also gave an open and honest account of how she is feeling these days in the wake of being embarrassed so publicly:
“I’m doing OK,” she says with a sigh. “I’m living. I’m not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn’t, and now he’s coming after me for all my money. When you come out of something like that, you realize you were never the one. There was someone else that was his queen. I got played. I got suckered. I have to keep smiling and keep my spirits up because this is designed to kill me.”
Designed. To. Kill. Me.
If Kendu Isaacs has any soul whatsoever those words will ring in his head for the rest of his life.

Spelman College Admitting Transgender Female Students
A historically black women’s college is making a landmark decision. Spelman College, the premier institution for African-American women founded in 1881, recently announced that they’re accepting transgender female students. The news comes directly from Spelman’s President Mary S. Campbell who stated that the new policy aligns with the school’s core mission.
“As a result of this extensive study, I, as president, along with the Spelman leadership team, and the Board, concur on the following admissions and enrollment policy: Spelman College, a Historically Black College whose mission is to serve high-achieving Black women, will consider for admission women students including students who consistently live and self-identify as women, regardless of their gender assignment at birth.
Spelman does not admit male students, including students who self-identify and live consistently as men, regardless of gender assignment at birth. If a woman is admitted and transitions to male while a student at Spelman, the College will permit that student to continue to matriculate at and graduate from Spelman.
In adopting this admissions policy, Spelman continues its fervent belief in the power of the Spelman Sisterhood. Students who choose Spelman come to our campus prepared to participate in a women’s college that is academically and intellectually rigorous, and affirms its core mission as the education and development of high-achieving Black women.”
Not everyone is supportive of Spelman’s decision, however, and their Instagram has been hit by negative comments from detractors.
“Now men are allowed into Spelman?” wrote one. “Smh. These schools are losing their core values. Do better.”
“This can not be still consider [sic] an all woman collage [sic]
IDIOTS lost everything it stand for,” wrote another.
Of cooourse some folks are big MAD that Spelman’s breaking tradition but isn’t it time to progress?

The ATL rapper is currently on an extremely lavish vacation at the Chateau De Farcheville which he’s renamed #ChateauDeLuda40 for a six-day celebration featuring pool parties, Paris excursions, wine tastings and apparently Magic City strippers.
Oh Luda.
On the trip is, of course, his wife Eudoxie, as well as Jeezy, Letoya Luckett, Kim Porter and Kenny Burns.
Chateau de Farcheville is a 14th-century castle with 22 bedrooms and 34 bathrooms and is listed at $24,000 a night. It also features a theater, moat and underground cellar.
Looks like he’s having an amazing time.

Get Well: Police Pull Up To Aaron Carter’s Crib After Suicide Threats
The Daily News is confirming that police were called to Aaron Carter’s home in St. Petersburg, Fla. last night in response to an “anonymous suicide threat”. According to a report, St. Petersburg Police arrived at the home at 10:01 p.m. after a friend reported that Carter threatened to commit suicide.
Authorities arrived on the scene, but did not encounter the 29-year-old. The anonymous friend told cops that Aaron was trying to purchase a gun earlier, and threatened to end his life as well as harm family members. This was one of THREE visits from the police in just a week, reportedly.
Damn! We hope you’re feeling better Aaron. Last month, the fallen star came out as gay and in return his girlfriend for almost a year broke up with him.

Pro Teen Surfer Dies While Surfing Irma Waves In Barbados
This is sad and senseless.
A professional surfer, a teenager, has died while attempting to surf a category 5 Hurricane Irma wave. 16-year-old Bajan Zander Venezia lost his life when he fell off his board and hit a shallow reef according to RawStory.
Zander and his friends were riding sea swells that were created by the raging storm.
“Zander was bleeding, and he wasn’t moving. They tried to get him to the beach quickly, which was very difficult.
“Box by Box is a tough place to get in and out of, even if you have the ability.”
Venezia was no novice in the water. He was the son of a surfer and had won several surfing competitions this year.
Just doesn’t seem worth the risk to us, but we guess Zander died doing what he loved.
