TIP Responds To Former Scales 925 Employees’ Lawsuit
T.I. is asking “his” pesky former restaurant workers to drop their class action lawsuit aimed at him and a business partner over unpaid wages and lawyer fees. The Jasmine Brand reports that T.I. has responded to the 3-month-old class action lawsuit filed by the former chef and food runner and it’s just one of multiple lawsuits filed against the business.
Back in March of this year, Kyle Vargas, Khori Vargas and Shawn Yarborough sued T.I., his business
partner Charles Hughes and Scales 925 Atlanta. They alleged that they were overworked and underpaid. The lawsuit claims they sometimes up to 80 hours a week without ever paying a dime in overtime. Khori claims that one time, she worked 112 hours in a week.
T.I. has now responded, reportedly saying he did not exercise control over the structure of the employee relationship, have economic control and was not responsible for day-to-day operations. Tip also says he was not in charge of hiring and firing or setting employees wages or schedules.
Tip does admit, however, he helped make initial decisions regarding the menu and location layout, along with selecting the head chef but DASSIT. Beyond that, he say he had nothing to do with the restaurant.

Previously, we reported that T.I. felt that he was actually scammed out of $1.7 million after his involvement with the ATL establishment. Sounds like a huge headache!

Inside the feature Boyega discusses the lifetime responsibility of starring in “Star Wars,” taking tips on fame from Orlando Bloom and Robert Downey Jr. and getting Harrison Ford to eat Nigerian food with no utensils, “like a real Nigerian.”

“The concierge goes, ‘Oh, because we had some residents who called and said that someone a bit suspicious came through the door,’” Boyega recalls.
But he knew that in 2017, he doesn’t have to be paralyzed. He can do something about it. “I looked at my boy and was just like, ‘You know what, man? Ring that concierge back.’ I said, ‘Never call the apartment again with that kind of query.’”

And though Star Wars had featured a few black characters—Billy Dee Williams as a smuggler, Samuel L. Jackson as a peripheral Jedi—they were less represented in the galaxy than Ewoks.“I ain’t paying money to always see one type of person on-screen,” says Boyega. “Because you see different people from different backgrounds, different cultures, every day. Even if you’re a racist, you have to live with that. We can ruffle up some feathers.”
It definitely seems like Boyega isn’t shy about taking on so-called “norms” right?

Mindy Kaling Pregnant With Her First Child
Congrats are in order for Mindy Kaling!
Multiple sources tell E! News that the A Wrinkle in Time actress is currently pregnant with her first child.
An insider explained that the future arrival for the 38-year-old actress was “an unexpected surprise” but that there will not be any changes made to production schedules for her upcoming projects.
Kaling hasn’t announced to the dad is, but she previously dated Benjamin Nugent from 2008-2012 and her “The Office” co-star BJ Novak from 2005-2007.
We did a little digging and found this photo of Mindy out on sushi date in May. Could he be the Daddy?

Kaling previously opened up about wanting to have kids:
“I think I’ve decided that unlike everything else in my life, I’m going to be fast and loose about kids,” she told Yahoo! Style in a sit-down interview.
“I’m going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen.”
She also admitted that she would love to have children, at the time, “maybe imminently.”
She also shared some insight into who she would want to welcome children into the world with, saying, “I’m not cavalier about who I would have a kid with. But the thing I ask every parent that I really admire, the one comment they all have is that they wish they had kids earlier.”

Walmart Says Sorry For Racial Slur In Weave Cap Description
Is it too late to apologize? We had to ask, because Walmart is asking customers for forgiveness after a racial slur in the description of this online item sparked outrage.
We are very sorry and appalled that this third party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace,” Walmart said in a statement Monday.
“It is a clear violation of our policy and has been removed, and we are investigating the seller to determine how this could have happened.”
To add insult to injury the owner of Jagazi Naturals says the store was offering the product through an unauthorized vendor.
Chizo Onuh, a 39-year-old based in London, told the Daily News she was just finishing dropping her kids off at school when she started receiving emails blaming her for the n-word weaving net.
“Considering the fact that I’m a black woman from Nigeria, what really pains me is that I get these emails from other black people who are in pain because of that word,” she said.
Onuh told the News that there is “nothing I can do about it” and that her brand, a nonsense name she made up herself, has previously been copied by others on eCommerce platforms such as Amazon and wish.com to sell similar products.
She said that she does not believe her product had ever been used with a racial slur before.
Hot mess… In this day and age where so much e-commerce is done and sites like Amazon and Wal-Mart allow third parties to sell, there should really be stronger precautions to prevent racial slurs from even being used. Shouldn’t there?
