The invite-only celebration honored LVRN's commitment to serve and support Atlanta's creative talent and presented award plaques recognizing label artists 6LACK and Grammy-nominated DRAM.

"This launch is another example of the power and influence of Atlanta's youth in the industry and culture. This studio and creative space belongs to the rest of the city as much as it does us," says Sean Famoso, co-founder of LVRN. "We want to make sure this place serves as a reminder nobody should have to travel across country to Los Angeles or New York to get started on their dream." Bigoted AirBnB Hostess Fined 5 Stacks And Sent To Community Service

One Airbnb user got jabbed straight in the heart after she thought she was about to treat her Fiance and friends to a nice Californian vacation. On the way to the $250 a night crib, the hostess, Tami Barker, cancelled on her and says it was because she was Asian.

She and her friends drove up in snow and flash floods to make it to the Big Bear House and when she got a text from the home owner  while just 3 minutes away. The message said her reservation was cancelled. Her exact reason for the cancellation was”one word says it all, Asian”. SMH.

CBS is reporting that the homeowner has now agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and attend a college course in Asian-American studies, according to officials with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. As part of an agreement with state officials, Barker also agreed to personally apologize to Suh and perform community service at a civil rights organization.

Doc Breaks Down Kanye West’s Ruined Relationship With JAY-Z

One of Kanye West’s old homies is spilling ALL the beans about the “extensive” collection of porn flicks he once owned in an upcoming documentary titled: Public Enemies: Jay-Z v. Kanye according to HollywoodLife:

“He had African s*** throughout the house, crates of records everywhere and an extensive porno collection,” Eugene McNair, a friend from Kanye’s childhood, told Channel 4. “‘It was like damn — he likes girls, he likes clothes, he likes music, he likes African s***, he likes art and you know we all jam.”

The director and editor of the doc also tell RealScreen that the doc will focus on the deterioration of Kanye’s relationship with JAY-Z:

“In the process of building their empires, Jay-Z and Kanye have provided a spine tingling soundtrack for a generation,” said director Nico Wasserman in a statement. “Their story goes beyond their music and has opened up discussions on everything from class barriers to mental health.”

“Arguably two of the coolest and most influential artists in the world, their incredible life stories offer a fascinating new twist on the American dream,” added Rob Coldstream, Channel 4′s commissioning editor of special factual. “These are two mega-personalities whose success and rivalry has captured the public’s imagination.”

Sounds like it could be interesting. No release date is in stone, but the doc is slated to release “later this summer”.

Drake And His Father Bring Life To New Virginia Black Ad

Drake has been throwing major alley-oops to Daddy Graham now for quite some time, most recently with having a picture of his father as the cover art for his latest project, ‘More Life’. Every picture the rapper posts of his dad makes him seem more and more elusive, and it’s pretty obvious he’s out here living life to the FULLEST while his son is the biggest rapper in the universe.

The latest in Aubrey and Dennis’ shenanigans is the short Virginia Black commercial that was posted by the brand on Instagram on Friday. The video features Drake acting as a wingman, introducing his dad as, “the realest dude ever” and spoofing the “most interesting man in the world” Dos Equis commercials.

 

Drake is the man behind Virginia Black, so it’s no surprise that these two would appear in a commercial for the Whiskey. Drizzy has been praised for his comedic timing throughout his career of hosting both award shows and SNL, and this commercial spot is just the latest in comedic contributions from the Canadian don. Hopefully Virginia Black gives us some more, longer commercials with these two for us to enjoy later on.

Jesus Take The Wheel: 3 Die In Blaze At Honolulu Highway Missing Sprinklers

A four-hour blaze at a Honolulu apartment building claimed the lives of 3 this week and injured 12 others according to AP.

BUT…the saddest part is, the severely damaging fire would’ve been avoided altogether, if the building had sprinklers. Reportedly, The 36-floor building was built in 1971, before sprinklers were required.

The departed tenants were found on the 26th floor, where the fire broke out around 2:15 p.m. and then spread to the 28th floor of the Marco Polo residences, Fire Chief Manuel Neves told the news. Hundreds fled the giant condominium complex as smoke billowed from the upper floors. Firefighters did their best by going door-to-door searching for people who might be trapped.

According to the fire chief Manuel Neves, the fire could’ve been avoided:

“Without a doubt if there were sprinklers in this apartment, the fire would be contained to the unit of origin.”

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell said the city needs to look at passing a law requiring older buildings be retrofitted with sprinklers.Well, duh. SMH.

RIP to the departed.

This fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is basically all the worst parts of America in a microcosm. Racism, abusing women, homophobia and while we haven’t seen much of it yet, xenophobia is likely to rear it’s star-spangled head before too long.

Men Arrested For Group Assault On Queens, NY Woman

A Queens woman was brutally assaulted while leaving a prayer meeting at her church earlier this week.

According to Daily Mail, Four men surrounded the woman, forcing her to strip naked and perform oral sex on each of them while they held her at gunpoint. They also robbed her of her belongings before leaving her on the street.

The moment at which the four men zeroed in on the unidentified woman as their target was caught by street cameras. The mother-of-two was seen walking along 150th Street in Queens, New York, her hands filled with bags as the four men lined up and followed her from across the street.

Because of the footage, 19-year-old Julisses Ginel, 17-year-old Justin Williams, and 20-year-old Brandon Walker, were arrested over the attack on Thursday. Police are still searching for the fourth man involved.

SMH! This woman’s life will never be the same. We can’t figure out what would make young men this age thing to even do something like this.

Kobe Bryant Flaunts New Tattoo Addition Of His Daughter’s Name

Post-Lakers life is looking pretty good for Kobe. On Friday he posted a video of him getting a tattoo for his youngest daughter Bianka Bella, an addition to the names of his two other girls. He added her name proudly above the names of two daughters already inked on his arm, Giana Maria-Onore and Natalia Diamante.

Dad Kobe has been in full swing ever since news of his retirement hit the airwaves, though he’s always been extremely close to his girls on and off the court. The most recent pictures of Bryant out and about have all been about family time, which is the perfect way for a retired legend to spend his now much less occupied days.

It’s endearing to see Kobe proudly posting his family duties all over for the world to see, and that’s sure to continue with all three of his lil #queenmambas occupying his time.
