Steph Curry Signed A 5-Year Extension With The Warriors For $201 Million

Secure the bag alert: Steph Curry  is really out here.

Curry has become the first player in NBA history to sign a supermax contract, or a contract that crosses the $200M mark: $201 million for a five-year commitment. Golden State general manager Bob Myers said  that the Warriors will finalize the contract once the free-agency moratorium ends this Thursday.

This is a biiiiig jump for Curry, who’s last deal was a four-year contract for $44 million. He was one free agent this time around that fans and NBA insiders alike had no doubt would stay in his beloved Golden State.

Golden State owner  Joe Lacob said prior to news of the supermax contract,  “I know he wants to be here and we want him here. So I do not anticipate any issues with him staying…We’re going to do whatever it takes to keep Steph here and happy,” and it looks like they did just that. This four-time NBA All-Star ain’t going nowhere.

Raise your hand if you’d take $201 million to stay right where you are.

Venus Williams Releases Statement About Fatal Car Crash

Venus Williams released a somber Facebook post regarding her involvement in a car accident that killed a 78 year-old-man. Unfortunately, Venus was named responsible for the man’s death and the injuries his wife endured.

I am devasted and heartbroken by this accident. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Jerome Barson and I continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Venus was named in a lawsuit over the incident, we reported the details earlier. Linda Barson, the wife of the passenger who suffered and lost his life is naming Venus in the suit and is expecting unspecified damages pain and suffering, family, lost wages, medical and funeral expenses. The Barson’s were wed for 33 years and sadly, Mrs. Barson had to watch her husband die on her 69th birthday.

Young Buck Knows Dropping An Album The Same Day As Jay Z Aint A Good Look

Rule number one: never put out an album the same day as Jay.

Southern rapper Young Buck took to Instagram this weekend to express frustrations about his album coming out on the same day as the long-awaited ‘4:44.’ He started his rant off with, “next time you see me dropping an album, get out my way dude” and proceeded to express his disdain for the overshadowing his release got.

The video is comical, and includes Buck yelling, “get out my mothaf***in’ way, Jay” because he’s legit really upset. Everyone in the music industry pretty much agrees to move around Jay and not expect Jay to move around them, but apparently Buck didn’t get the memo. Even 21 Savage’s manager expressed their team’s concern for dropping the same day as Hov, eventually moving their release to another unannounced date.

Mashonda And Alicia Keys Club Together In Germany

The side-chick saga that led to Swizz Beats’ divorce from Mashonda and marriage to Alicia Keys is beyond water under the bridge at this point.

So much so, in fact, that Mashonda and Alicia’s relationship goes well beyond cordial and mature into an all-out firendship at this point.

Alicia and Mashonda have both gone on record to praise their blended family preciousness and talk about how they were all able to mature to get things working functionally for the kids…but we’ve never seen these two just chilling one-on-one without any of the boys or Swizz around.

But, as both ladies were in Berlin last night for Swizz’s “No Comission” Art Event, the two decided to hit a spot together and rock out to Kendrick Lamar.

Welp good for them! We definitely don’t want to tell all the adulterers out there that they’re on the right track…but things certainly worked out swimmingly for this trio. Unless Mashonda is on some secret mission to get close enough to Alicia to end her life and not be implicated…but it LOOKS like everyone is cool.

Fyre Festival Organizer Billy McFarland Arrested And Charged With Wire Fraud

Remember that festival that the rich white kids paid thousands of dollars and flew to a random island for? And it turned out to be a dis-as-ter? Well, the festival’s founder and organizer, Billy McFarland, was arrested at his home in Manhattan on Friday and charged with wire fraud. This charge involved McFarland defrauding investors and presenting fake documents that drove them to invest such large sums of money into the event.

McFarland is also accused of telling investors that the company earned millions of dollars from artist bookings, but it was reported that his company earned not even $60K annually. He also showed investors edited images that presented his stock valued over $2.5 million dollars, but his actual share was valued at $1,500.

If he ends up getting convicted, he could end up facing a maximum of 20 years in prison. Him and his partner Ja Rule also face over a dozen law suits in addition to their federal charges.

Boston Police Officer Suspended Over Racist Video

The BostonHerald is reporting that 4 1/2 year veteran piece of s#!t Officer Joseph DeAngelo Jr has been suspended without pay for 6 month after a he distributed a racist video to his buddies for s#its and giggles.

Apparently this is the stuff that Officer DeAngelo finds hilarious. No surprise there, he is Boston cop. We already know how THEY get down.

Subsequent to his suspension, DeAngelo wrote this fake azz “apology” letter.

Police Commissioner William B. Evans seems more than satisfied that it’s genuine and heartfelt…

“It was clear from Officer DeAngelo’s interview that he feels significant remorse for his actions and now realizes the impact this video has had on our community,” Evans said. “Officer DeAngelo readily admitted to the conduct and has fully taken responsibility for his actions.”

There is no way that DeAngelo should be welcomed back to a badge and a gun after an incident like this. There is ZERO room for any level of racism in a police force that has the power to dictate the life and death of Black citizens.

Derek Fisher Charged With Two Counts Of DUI For June 4th Crash

On June 4th, Derek Fisher was arrested after he lost control of a Cadillac Escalade, flipping the vehicle at 3AM on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. His girlfriend Gloria Govan was in the passenger seat, but neither of them nor anyone else was injured in the accident. Luckily the car had an OnStar system that connected them to highway patrol within seconds, and audio shows Gloria letting them know everything is fine.

Not so surprisingly, this crash happened because Fisher was driving while smaaaackkkeddd. He was charged with two counts of DUI for this incident and if convicted, could face up to 6 months in jail–however, this is Fisher’s first offense, so he likely wont even make it behind bars.

These two got very lucky to experience such an intense crash and be able to walk away from the scene scratch-free, though the Escalade can’t say the same. Fisher has since been seen out and about in LA and is adamant that he will never make this kind of mistake again.

Young Thug Is In The Studio, And His Next Project Could Be ‘Barter 7’

One of Young Thug’s most frequent producers Wheezy posted a photo on Instagram this weekend with Thug adorned with the caption, “BARTER 7.” He just released his latest project ‘Beautiful Thugger Girls’ a few weeks ago, but it seems Jeffrey is already back to work on his next mixtape.

 

The prelude to this supposed next project, ‘Barter 6’ was released in 2015 and followed an extremely controversial release. The initial title was ‘Carter 6,’ because Thugger wanted to release that before Lil Wayne had the chance to release his highly-anticipated ‘Tha Carter V.’ Due to threats of legal action, Thug swiftly swapped the C for a B, and there you have ‘Barter 6.’ This isn’t the last time Jeffrey would anger others with his album titles, either–for his last album release, he dropped the “easy breezy” from ‘Beautiful Thugger Girls’ due to complaints from CoverGirl.

Because it’s only been a month since we last got music from the self-proclaimed New Tupac, if ‘Barter 7’ is really happening it’s most likely in the beginning stages. Many of Thug’s diehard fans and general music lovers alike consider ‘Barter 6’ to be a new-age classic, so the follow-up is undoubtedly highly anticipated.

Thugger said before that he was “paying homage” and since Lil Wayne had already done Carter 1-5, he would continue with Carter (well, Barter) 6-10, and it looks like he’s actually keeping that promise. He’s known to crank out music pretty quickly, so hopefully we can expect this next project before the end of the year.
