Eric Bellinger Calls Out Tory Lanez
Eric Bellinger just keeps tripping into drama with other artists recently. But this time, instead of being accused of copying, he’s noticing how other crooners are biting off of him.
Eric is coming for Tory Lanez, insisting that the singer is trying to capitalize off his signature tagline. Tory seems to have recently built an affinity for singing “This Gon’Be Your Favorite Song” before a number of his tracks get underway. The only issue…Eric Bellinger has been using that tagline on 98% of his songs for a number of years.
Seems like something small…but branding is something artists are very serious about.
Naturally, Eric called him on it. The soul singer took to IG to prove his point, and wasn’t at all shy about the @ button:
Sample my music, mimic my sound, copy my style… But when it comes to my brand, find your own. Everybody know I been sayin “This Gon’ Be Your Favorite Song” at the top of my joints for years. I said somethin about it the first time you did it & imma say somethin again. Get your own shit! I worked my a** off for everything I got. Niggas is cool but we ain’t that cool fam. I would think as a writer you’d understand the sensitivity in respecting another mans identity @torylanez
Hmm…well that similarity is pretty striking. We wonder what Tory has to say about all this…
