Jay Z Is Reintroducing Himself To The Public As…JAY-Z

The rapper formerly know as Jigga, HOV and Sean Carter is updating the way he stylizes his famed moniker by adding a hyphen and spelling it out in all capital letters, according to NY Daily News.

His rep confirmed the name change with the Daily News, and will be used on his yet to be released album, “4:44,” which comes out on his streaming service Tidal on June 30. YEs, he is still JAY-Z, but now you have to slam on that shift key to type it. Are you keeping up?

Only adding to the confusion, JAY-Z promoted his new album on Twitter this week by stylizing his name JAY:Z to match up with the “4:44” title.

It’s a busy week for the billionaire rapper. In addition to this out-of-the-blue name change and new album announcement, his wife Beyoncé gave birth to twins last week in Los Angeles.

Newly Released Dash Cam Footage Of Philando Castile Shooting

We’re gonna go ahead and tell you RIGHT now. This footage is disturbing, enraging, sad and EXTREMELY violent.

It’s going to piss you off.

Today, Ramsey County officials in Minnesota released the dash cam footage from Jeronimo Yanez patrol car. It clearly shows Philando Castile calmly telling Yanez that he had a firearm in the car. It then shows officer Yanez unload a clip into Castile and then you hear the voice of Diamond Reynolds asking Yanez if he just killed her boyfriend, which is the point where most of us began to view her now-infamous Facebook live stream.

Please take extreme caution in viewing this video if you feel it may be triggering.

Trey Songz’ SnapChats To Be Used In Assault Trial

If you’ll recall, Tremaine was charged with assault on a Detroit police officer during a concert on back in December, where he reportedly threw a fit and tossed stage equipment around after his performance set was cut short at Joe Louis Arena. He’s charged with one count of assaulting a police officer causing injury and one count of aggravated assault.

Now, the judge in the case is ruling that some of Trey’s statements regarding cops separate from the incident can be included in the case…just so the jury knows exactly where his head is at when it comes to police.

Wayne County Circuit Judge Lawrence Talon ruled that some saved SnapChat videos depicting Trey making statements like “F*** the Police” were admissible into evidence by the prosecution. According to Fox 2 News Detroit, prosecutors argue:

“Given the fact that the defendant is highly unsatisfied with police as shown from these videos ahead of time, saying all these vulgar comments about police, it is relevant to show that the defendant intended to do the crime that he is charged with.”

Well that is some interesting reasoning…but obviously, the judge bought it. SMH, things aren’t looking too great for Trey…

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Hire A Surrogate

Although there were reports that their swirly matrimony-dom was in trouble and even included a trial separation, Kim and Kanye are preparing for a new baby.
As previously reported Kimmy Cakes has been adamant that she wants another baby but has placenta accreta, a medical condition that could make another pregnancy life threatening.

And after her 61-year-old mother Kris Jenner volunteered to carry Kim’s next gut full of Yeezy (Ooof!), Kim’s made a decision; she’s getting a surrogate.

According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye have made a deal with a surrogate to have another child and they’re dropping an exorbitant amount of money on her.

The as of yet unidentified surrogate will receive a $45,000 payday in 10 $4,500 monthly installments, $5,000 per child if she conceives multiples and $4,000 if she loses reproductive organs (UHHHHH).

Kim and Kanye will also deposit nearly $70K with the agency providing the surrogate; $68,850 to be exact.

The baby Yeezus carrier will also be restricted from sexual activities in the weeks leading up to the pregnancy, including foregoing sexual intercourse for 3 weeks following embryo implantation.

She also must refrain smoking, drinking, and other drugs during the pregnancy, cannot go in hot tubs or saunas, cannot handle or change cat litter, apply hair dye, drink more than one caffeinated beverage per day or eat raw fish as they all could be harmful to the baby.

This news, of course, comes RIGHT after Bey and Jay welcomed their twins, putting the Carter baby count at three.

“Power” Season Four Returns June 25 On Starz!

“Power’s” Joseph Sikora said he’s tired of people labeling his hit show “hood.”

Sikora, who plays troubled Tommy Egan on the Starz! show said “Power” isn’t “hood” at all. Viewers are able to connect and identify with all of the characters, he said, and just because the show h a predominantly minority cast doesn’t mean a thing.

“I think the industry has tried to subject the show to being a black show or a hood show and I think that the fans, and the world – now that it’s in 170 countries – have really said, ‘we see ourselves and our society in this show,’” Sikora told BOSSIP recently. “To me, that’s a transcendent show that can’t be categorized like that anymore.”

And the proof may be in the pudding: “Power” averages some eight million viewers, and it’s the most watched show on premium TV after HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

“This is a very elevated, dramatic series with a lot of moving parts with all intelligent people, with different realms of intelligence,” he said. “I think that one of the problems there…is that’s now we’re programmed to think about things often times. ‘Oh, it’s predominantly cast of people of color, its hood.’ This is, I think, a reality in America on many different levels, of people trying their best, through a lot of different capacities, to get out of their current struggle.”
