Russell Wilson Blasted Over Mother’s Day Post

While Russell Wilson is soaking up fatherhood with baby Sienna, his wife Ciara and his stepson Future, some messy miserables are sulking in his comments section.

Russell who welcomed Sienna Princess Wilson with CiCi two weeks ago, sent a sweet shoutout to his wife on this Mother’s Day holiday.

“You are an amazing mom & I’m so grateful I get to spend the rest of my life with you & raising our kids. I love you! #HappyMothersDay Weekend my love,” wrote Russy.

And while most people were pleased to see another sweet message from the Seattle Seahawks QB to his songstress spouse, others (once again) found fault with his reference to baby Future Zahir.

According to Future Hive members, Zahir could never be his child and the Mother’s Day message was actually a subliminal diss to baby Future’s Dirty Sprite guzzling dad.

Radio One Changes Name To Urban One

The largest multimedia company targeting Black Americans recently announced some exciting news. Executives Yashima White AziLove (U1 Corporate), D’Angela Proctor (TV One), Jay Stevens (Radio One and Reach Media), Kierna Mayo (iONE Digital), Tuwisha Rogers (One Solution and OneX Studios), Dwayne Whitaker (R1 Digital), Kim Bandell (One VIP) and Marvisha Frazier (BHM Digital) converged on a press conference call Thursday, May 11 with news that Radio One, Inc. would now be known as Urban One, Inc.

The change was made official on May 5, commemorating the 18th anniversary of its IPO, when the company went public.

The name change is reflecting the company’s longstanding, rich history as the most trusted source to inform, entertain and inspire the African-American community with a promise that Urban One will continue to provide culturally relevant integrated content through its iconic brands and platforms.

According to Urban One Vice President of Corporate Communications Yashima White AziLove, per Radio One’s President and Chief Executive Officer Alfred Liggins, the Urban One name accentuates the company’s dedication to black culture.

“Well for clarity, Radio One is a legacy name, and one in which we have not departed from. Radio One refers to our vast local radio network of 57 broadcast stations in 15 markets,” said AziLove.

“Our CEO chose the word “urban” in short due to its inherit ability to encompass all things black. Mr. Liggins often says we’re in the black people business and we believe that black culture is sexy, it’s hot, it’s appealing and we know that black culture impacts every aspect of American life.”

Medical Examiner Deems Student’s Death A suicide

Let’s just start by saying that any time a black person is found hanging — it’s suspicious.

You may have heard about the case of 20-year-old Kendra Shanice Reid, a sophomore at WSSU in North Carolina who was found hanging at a park on April 28th. The medical examiner recently ruled her death a suicide. According to Winston-Salem Jourdal reports, Reid died from asphyxiation by hanging, according to her death certificate. Her body was found hanging in a wooded area of Finch Park shortly after 9 a.m. on April 28. The public park at 15 Paul Beck Road is just outside of Lexington, where Reid is from. Larry James, the Davidson County medical examiner and the county’s director of emergency services, ruled Reid’s death as a suicide. James said no autopsy was performed as a medical examiner can forego the autopys if death is determinable by an external examination.

Some people attempted to link Reid’s death to a video circulating on Facebook, but Reid’s mother Sophia Giles claims those rumors are not true.

In response to James’ suicide ruling, the Atlanta chapter of Black Lives Matter has released the following statement:

As President of Black Lives Matter Greater Atlanta we are compelled to express our outraged of the senseless death of our dear sister Kendra Shanice Reid 20, who was found hanging in a park.

We are deeply saddened and shocked to learn that yet another black body is lifeless. Kendra Reid was a 20 year old sophomore student at Winston-Salem State University in Lexington. She was loved by her community, her school and of course naturally by her family. After learning that Larry James, the county’s medical examiner ruled that the cause of death was a suicide. We know that couldn’t have been any further from the truth. Kendra was full of life, she loved her family, and she was an active member on campus and a member of the WSSU Marching Band who looked forward in graduating.

We expect second investigation to be conducted by an private independent examiner, and anticipate a thorough full criminal investigation to be launch by either The Department of Justice’s Office of Civil Rights and The FBI.

The black community in Lexington has little to no faith in Lexington Police Chief Mark Sink and his ability to execute a fair and complete investigation. This is why we takes to the streets, organized, mobilized and disrupt business as usual. Black Lives Matter Greater Atlanta we will continue to monitor this case with a close eye

Thirst Mcgurt aka Starshell got around before she landed in Kendu Isaac’s lap. According to Pagesix, the unaccomplished pop singer was seen in the ‘friends and family’ section at a playoff game, courtesy of of LeBron James.

The eye witness says the 28 year old was seen chilling and cheering for Lebron back in 2014 in a section reserved exclusively for friends and family of NBA players at a Nets vs. Heat game in Brooklyn. The only way she could sit her parched cakes there had to be courtesy of someone on the team! She was seen with “LEBRON” painted across her nails, although she’s a proclaimed Boston Celtics fan said the witness. They also reported that other NBA wives and girlfriends were cringing after security for LeBron came and escorted towards the locker room after the game.

“She had ‘LeBron’ painted on her nails, she was talking about LeBron and cheered for him loudly,” a source said of Starshell, 28, a self-described die-hard Boston Celtics fan.

“In theory, you could say she was a fan, but security brought her down to the floor and the back area after the game was over. That doesn’t happen for fans,” said the insider. “She was very decked out — the hair, the makeup, etc.”

Drake was busy over the weekend, but not doing concerts or sitting court side at a play off game. The rapper was seeing his baby cousin off to her prom in Memphis. TMZ reports that Drakes dad’s grand-niece was elated to have her matching prom attire and white Rolls Royce ride paid for by cousin Drizzy.

The show featured a four-minute long groundbreakingly graphic gay sex scene between actors Mousa Kraish and Omid Abtahi (who are both straight in real life). The show found the pair having sex in Abtahi’s character’s hotel room after meeting when Kraish’s character picks him up in a NYC taxi. Abtahi plays Salim, an Omani trinket salesman, while Kraish plays a mythical creatture from Arabian and Islamic mythology known as Jinn or Ifrit. Both men appear fully nude in the scene, which begins when the Ifrit emerges after taking a shower and drops his towel revealing a full on erection. Here’s where it goes above and beyond anything shown on television before — once Salim and the Jinn start going at it, the scene changes to a CGI enhanced mythical world where they make love until climax, which is pretty spectacular from the descriptions we’ve read — as the Ifrit busts a great ball of fire on his partner.

Kraish, who plays the Ifrit told Daily Mail:

‘Following the responses on social media, I am struck by amazement how much the fans are involved with every moment and how they’ve responded to this chapter in AMERICAN GODS in particular.

‘How they’ve responded to me and Omid as the Jinn and Salim have been so positive that I’m just happy that I’m doing all the fans justice. It’s quite moving. A great loving fan base for Neil Gaiman and his work.’

It was the first sex scene for Kraish, but he says it was made easier because of his friendship with fellow actor Abtahi:

‘When I found out Omid Abtahi was cast as Salim, that made it so much easier because we’ve been actual friends for the past 10 years. I met Omid when I first moved to Los Angeles from Brooklyn, NY and we clicked as friends and respective artists. Also, we kept running into one another at auditions so he was part of the “brown-actor” community as we would say jokingly.’

Kraish also said he put his faith in Bryan Fuller, the show’s executive producer, who is gay.

‘I remember having a deep conversation with him about the nudity and telling him that I wanted to make sure we were not doing this to be shocking or gratuitous. And he truly walked me through his vision. And when you just put your heart and trust in the hands of a man like that you know it will be beautiful.

‘As for how it portrayed Middle Eastern men while it was in the back of my mind, I wanted it to focus on two people who just connected and loved one another because they needed each other. It doesn’t matter what your race or sexuality is…everyone can understand and connect with that,’ he said.

It definitely sounds like some ground breaking stuff… Fuller previously told Entertainment Weekly that he had the actors reshoot the scene after not being entirely convinced by the first take. He also told TV Guide that the love story between Salim and Jinn were crucial to maintaining the integrity of the 2001 novel “American Gods” that inspired the series.

‘[It] was an opportunity for us to challenge the audience to not look away from the beauty of this experience for Salim.

‘We wanted to make it beautiful. We wanted to make it hypnotic. We wanted to create a sex-positive experience, not only for Salim but for all the men like Salim who have a corrupted sense of sexuality for whatever reason and can’t truly be their sexual selves,’ he said.
