The breezy production sets the stage nicely for Kayla Brianna to floss her airy vocals across the chorus as Dreezy adds a bit of Chicago swag with her guest spot. Check out the song below:

“Luck” is the follow-up to Kayla Brianna’s charting effort“Work For It” which featured YFN Lucci and helped garner her the iHeart Radio Music Awards nomination. Cuba Gooding Jr. Slammed For Lifting Sarah Paulson's Dress At AHS Panel

Cuba Gooding's big dumb face should be in the dictionary whenever Merriam-Webster decides to add "headass" to the dictionary. If it ain't one thing, it's a muthaf**kin other with this dude. Sunday, at an American Horror Story: Roanoke panel discussion O.J. Is Wearing Your Bonnet In Public Tacky?

My sister loves her bonnet. So much so that she’s created a hashtag for the life she leads. #BonnetLife. Most Black girls know how far a good bonnet can go in preserving the moisture in your hair, preserving your style and the strength of your hair as well. Still, the assumption is that bonnets will be worn in the privacy of your own home. So you can imagine my mortification when my sister decided that she would have continental breakfast, in the lobby of our hotel, wearing her beloved bonnet. We were in Savannah, Georgia celebrating my birthday and my sister just didn’t want to take it off before we went downstairs.

While it certainly wasn’t something I would have done, I admired the fact that my sister didn’t care about the opinions of others enough to let it deter her from moving as she wished.
I took a picture of the moment and put it on my Instagram.

United Airlines: “Your Leggings Are Welcome” (Despite Yesterday’s Mess)

If you hopped on Twitter yesterday and saw United trending, you might’ve thought, “Great, another airline I’m going to have to stop flying.” But before you jump to conclusions, it seems special circumstances were involved in United’s decision to block two teenage girls wearing leggings from boarding a flight to Minneapolis yesterday.

The young passengers weren’t your everyday customers, they were “pass riders” — relatives or friends of United employees allowed to fly at discounted rates — and as such they are required to follow the airline’s dress code when flying which, apparently, does not include leggings.

Despite the explanations being tweeted from United’s Twitter handle during the debacle, celebs and citizens alike dragged the airline for their “policing” of women’s clothes which, understandably, was deemed sexist. Today, United put out a formal statement on the incident, attempting to assure its regular customers their leggings are all good, but it might not be enough for the airline to recover from yesterday’s mishap. What do you think?

Pitzer College’s Controversy Over White Women’s Cultural Appropriation

Some you may remember Pitzer College from a post we did previously where white women students threw a fit because the Black women students didn’t want to live in dorms with them.

Well, there is a new racial outrage currently brewing and it again centers around white women.

The above “free wall” was painted with the message: “White girl, take off your hoops!!!” after a group of Black and Latinx women became frustrated by wanna-be-down Beckies who were trying on their ethnic style for fashion.

A white student questioned what the purpose of the mural was and Junior year student Alegria Martinez obliged her via an email that was sent to the entire campus, via ClaremontIndependent:

“[T]he art was created by myself and a few other WOC [women of color] after being tired and annoyed with the reoccuring [sic] theme of white women appropriating styles … that belong to the black and brown folks who created the culture. The culture actually comes from a historical background of oppression and exclusion. The black and brown bodies who typically wear hooped earrings, (and other accessories like winged eyeliner, gold name plate necklaces, etc) are typically viewed as ghetto, and are not taken seriously by others in their daily lives. Because of this, I see our winged eyeliner, lined lips, and big hoop earrings serving as symbols [and] as an everyday act of resistance, especially here at the Claremont Colleges. Meanwhile we wonder, why should white girls be able to take part in this culture (wearing hoop earrings just being one case of it) and be seen as cute/aesthetic/ethnic. White people have actually exploited the culture and made it into fashion.”

Another student, sophomore Jacquelyn Aguilera chimed in:

“If you didn’t create the culture as a coping mechanism for marginalization, take off those hoops, if your feminism isn’t intersectional take off those hoops, if you try to wear mi cultura when the creators can no longer afford it, take off those hoops, if you are incapable of using a search engine and expect other people to educate you, take off those hoops, if you can’t pronounce my name or spell it … take off those hoops / I use “those” instead of “your” because hoops were never “yours” to begin with.”

How do you feel about white women wearing hoops, etc.? Are you as angry about it as these students?

Adrien Broner Gets Exposed For Cheating After Making Tasteless Death Joke

Adrien Broner put his zombie feet in his mouth today, after posting a not-so-funny joke to his Facebook page-- and then his baby's mother Miya dropped a bomb on him. The Cincinnati boxer wrote "I wish my babymamas was at cameo". Cameo is a night club that made the news recently, when 15 people were shot and one person died. Facebook users immediately started to call him out on his rude and cruel comments. Adrien has 7 kids with 6 different women. Adrien is allegedly engaged to a woman named Arie aka "Miss Louie Bags".   WELP, one of the mothers of his children clapped back at him and let it be know that he was just in her bed, last week. Screen grab courtesy of Fameolous.   Yikes, that joke went over like a boomerang. Ironically, Arie had some almost kind things to say about the mothers of Adrien's children, after one exposed him for cheating. Hit the flip to see what she said. She apologized for her dude, even though "a few" of Adrien's baby's mothers have tried to sleep with him. We guess this was mature?

Bill O’Reilly Apologizes For Mocking Maxine Waters

Remember when we showed that video of musty, crusty, annoying azz Bill O’Reilly trying to ether Congressman Maxine Waters?

“I didn’t hear a word she said,” said O’Reilly. “I was looking at the James Brown wig.”If we have a picture of James Brown — it’s the same wig.”

https://twitter.com/mmfa/status/846727389971447808/video/1

Well he’s since apologized after his comments about her “James Brown wig” went viral for being racist and sexist.

According to Bill, he respects Auntie Maxine and his joke was “dumb.”

“As I have said many times, I respect Congresswoman Maxine Waters for being sincere in her beliefs,” he said. “I said that again today on Fox & Friends calling her ‘old school.’ Unfortunately, I also made a jest about her hair which was dumb. I apologize.”

Ya think???

Bill O'Reilly

Now, let’s all wait for Auntie Maxine to show Bill what a real READ looks like. *folds hands*

Waffle House Hit With Lawsuit Over “Grease Leak”

A man who lives near a Waffle House in Alabama, is suing the restaurant after grease and sewage seeped into his property. Mack Crook Jr. lives adjacent to Waffle House in Anniston, Alabama. He’s seeking a total of $800,000 from Norcross, Georgia-based Waffle House Inc. for damages.

According to AP News, Crook says the restaurant’s “grease interceptor” has continuously leaked grease and contaminated fluid into the ground, in the lawsuit. The lawsuits states “the combination of grease and sewage has over time seeped onto and under the foundation of the Plaintiff’s building, causing physical damage to the Plaintiff’s property and loss of use and enjoyment of the property.”

Waffle House Inc. has not made a direct statement about the claims of Cooks but, in the court filings they deny that their grease interceptors have caused any damage. In the court records, Waffle House also denies that grease and sewage damaged the building and is demanding proof of that happening.

Prentice Penny Talks Three-Dimensional Representation For People Of Color

https://instagram.com/p/BSHIcNOgMR1/?taken-by=the_a_prentice Last week truTV launched a new show called "Upscale With Prentice Penny" which airs Tuesday nights at 10pm. You may not have heard of Prentice Penny before, but it's highly likely you've seen his work. He was a writer for "Girlfriends" and is currently the showrunner for HBO's hit show "Insecure." BOSSIP caught up with him to chat about stepping in front of the camera to host "Upscale" -- a show that is all about appreciating the finer things in life, whether that means tailored threads, the finest wines or bedding that guarantees an enjoyable nighttime "experience." Check out our EXCLUSIVE below! Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV BOSSIP: Congratulations on stepping in front of the camera! Tell us how "Upscale" came about, did you always plan on hosting?
Prentice Penny: It's a little bit different. Legit, this was literally some stumbled into something and not realizing until the last minute. I had no plan. It started from an idea my manager and I had. We are big bourbon drinkers and we love barbecue. We were like, 'We should fly to Kansas City and just try barbecue.' This was two years ago. Then, we thought, 'We should film it and put it on YouTube!' That slowly evolved into whether people of color talk about these kind of things. It never had it's origin in me being in front of the camera and then I found myself here.
BOSSIP: How did you come up with the different topics for the show?
PP: It started from topics my friends and I actually enjoy. We'll go smoke cigars, or go try champagne, or talk about steaks. That became the genesis, and so they didn't feel disconnected we gave them a theme. So the first episode is about romance -- so in that topic it became, what kinds of things do you do to incorporate romance into your life? So we talk about bedding, candles and champagne, the clothes you wear when you come to bed, your pajamas etc... Once we gave each show an umbrella, it was 'Ok, now what are the topics -- if it was date night, upscale dressing up and we pitched on ideas I was doing personally and how to incorporate them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jg3WxUJ6aY BOSSIP: What do "Insecure" and "Upscale" do to open up the scope of how black people are represented?
PP: "Insecure," from a scripted standpoint, we're able to talk about things and see us as fully dimensionalized people who go through things like anyone else. The ideas of being in love and being faithful and trying to find your place in this world are all things we can relate to. For "Upscale," I was a big fan of "Chef's Table" and Anthony Bourdain, but my thing was, my friends and I are into these kinds of things, but I don't see us reflected in these shows, whether they be "Top Chef," or what have you, you never see us in the forefront of these shows. It's just like on "Insecure" where we have these conversations all the time, but you just don't see them onscreen. I don't see anyone onscreen doing this, but I do these things and my friends do these things, but it's always a middle aged white guy speaking as the authority. As the entryway into those worlds, I want to see more of me reflected in those worlds because I do those worlds and people I know do experience those worlds. You rarely see people of color onscreen talking about travel, but we travel all the time. You never see it onscreen. Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV For me, it was important to have a ton of people of color come on the show as experts because it was important that it's reflected in the show. Not even just people of color, but also gender roles. We did an episode where we visited this really cool craft brewery that was run by two women, an Asian woman and a Latina woman and the brewery was in Inglewood. For our date night episode, we talked about manicures and went to a manicure spot that was just for men, that was started by a black man. You go in and the walls are wood, and the chairs are leather, and there's a big flat screen on the wall and you get scotch when you come in, so it's to make men feel good. I was like when are you going to see a man talking about manicures onscreen and it's a straight black man? You're just not going to see that. That was important to me that we cut against the type and perception, I wanted to upend a lot of that in the show.
Hit the flip for more from Prentice Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV BOSSIP: There is some real classic hip-hop being woven into the background for "Upscale." Was that something that was done intentionally?
Prentice: 100%. We don't have a budget like "Insecure" where we can spend a huge amount of money on Solange and Raphael Saadiq, but I have the same music supervisor, so from every aspect, the guests, the way it's visually shot, the way it sounds, I wanted it to reflect my upbringing. I grew up late 80's and early 90's and I always felt when I watch these shows that the music feels like an afterthought. I wanted the music to have a very specific hip-hop sound. Don't play me any Jamiroquai/jazzy hip-hop sounds. I don't want to put that music on the show because you have these really beautiful images and the tendency would be to lean into that. If I'm looking at something really beautiful, I want to hear some trap music. That's what makes it interesting. It's like when you have the salty and the sweet. You gotta kinda cut it. It was a very cognizant thought to have that feel sonically.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlF3piSA0xQ BOSSIP: Is Prentice Penny your real name?
PP: That's my real name, yes. I hated it growing up, because when you're a kid you want to be like Chris. You want to go to Disneyland and see your name on the license plates you can buy with your name on it. There was no Prentice cup. I had people calling me Princess, Pringles... The cool thing is it's paid off as an adult because nobody has that name.
Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV BOSSIP: What was your favorite episode of "Upscale"?
PP: Just on some cool stuff -- the dressing up episode. I got a custom hat made and shoes and a suit. That was cool but on a more personal stylized note. On the human side, the gift giving episode was a favorite. We went to a glass blower and made drinking glasses. What was cool about it is every episode has a payoff in how you incorporate those elements. I did the episode with one of my best friends, my mom and my dad. It was kind of emotional. My best friend really enjoys smoking cigars, so I gave my best friend a cigar. I gave my mom champagne because it reminded me of Christmas when I was a kid, because she would always drink rosé. She was a single mom for the most part and I'm a parent now so I can imagine how hard it must've been. For my dad I gave him the glasses. I told him it reminded me of one of the coolest memories I have, which was when my grandfather was still alive and he would let me sit on his lap and it was like three generations together and they would drink bourbon and play dominoes. At the end of the segment I gave my dad the glasses and we played dominoes together. It was just this really human moment.
Hit the flip for more from Prentice on "Insecure" and breaking into Hollywood. Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV BOSSIP: We got your favorite "Upscale" moment, what was your favorite "Insecure" moment?
PP: My favorite comedic moment is the opening from the pilot where Issa's in the classroom and all the kids are dragging her. I think it just encapsulates the show on a basic core level. My favorite dramatic moment is when she and Lawrence, when he confronts her about cheating and walks out on her. Just to watch that scene in real time when Issa and Jay went for it for like eight takes. On set it was emotionally draining to watch and to see it all come together was great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ByGhMLrMo4 BOSSIP: What's the feedback been like from the finale for you?
PP: "Girlfriends" was my first job as a writer and not since then have I had so many people be invested in the characters as real people. Almost anywhere I'm at now, when people who are fans find out what I do they're like 'You make me so mad. Oh my God! You people! When he was f***ing Tasha at the end I was so mad. Oh my God.' But then on the other side, I'll get the dudes who are like 'Thank you Bruh, thank you for holding it down.' It's so real, it's like it really happened. Like these are real people in the world. Then you'll get some women who are really mad at Issa like, 'There's chicks out there f***ing it up for us. We can't find one man and she's got one and she's not happy with him.' When people find out my connection to "Insecure" it's always, 'Ooh I need to talk to you!' That's always the first reaction. After that I literally don't know where it's going to go, if it's gonna go to Lawrence or Issa or Molly. It's such a testament to how good the actors are making those characters come to life. It's also the cultural and political and racial stuff we talk about. That's real. I go through that. It's just awesome. Especially in the climate we're living in right now, that black people can be seen as three-dimensional people and not just caricatures of themselves.
Photo Credit: Justin Jackson/truTV BOSSIP: What advice do you have for people of color interested in writing for TV or working behind the scenes?
PP: When I was coming up you had to do the traditional route. You write a pilot or a spec script and you hustle to get anyone to read it. You're trying to get an agent, you're trying to get a manager. Now, Issa is a testament to all these types of shows where people are doing their own thing. The world we live in now you can shoot your own show digitally and put it up on YouTube and have it live on the web. There's really no limit. You can do these type of things, you can pursue the traditional way, but in the world we live in now, I wouldn't wait on nobody. I would grab a camera, I would write 10 episodes. That's what Issa did. There's so many outlets digitally that didn't exist - even more than when she did "Awkward Black Girl." I always feel like momentum creates more momentum, just by the proxy of doing something more things steam roll. By moving in a direction, other things start to move as well. You can be doing something ten years and nothing happen, you can be doing something a week and something happen. That's this business. Inevitably things get better because the more you're doing, the more you'll improve. April of last year, I was walking back from the first table read of "Insecure" and my manager called me and told me 'We sold the show.'["Upscale] It's 11 months from when we sold the show to it coming to fruition.I had all the people telling me "he's never been a host before, there's never been a market for this show, then we sold the show the fist time out. You gotta just put your head down and go about your business.
BOSSIP: We were super divided in the office about the "Insecure" finale because the guys were very #TeamLawrence and while the ladies weren't really #TeamIssa there were some who felt she deserved a pass because she was holding him down when he couldn't pay the bills.
PP: The Issa justifications are so hilarious to me. She handled it the same way men handle cheating. She was just sloppy. She wasn't good at it because it's not in her character. She's not smooth. She's not a player. She was just in over her head. She did exactly the things guys do so it was funny to hear women try to justify it because guys are just as bad.
Make sure to tune in to truTV tonight at 10pm for "Upscale with Prentice Penny"!

TI And Tiny Spotted Together At V-103 Pop Up Concert

Well, no wonder Tiny isn't bothered by any "pass around bish!" After a week's worth of shade-throwing at the "side chick" TI's allegedly been entertaining after Tiny's divorce petition went public...The Family Hustle is looking a little amicable in these streets. The estranged couple was caught canoodling backstage at V-103's Pop Up Concert, looking like nobody knows no Bernice at all... And Tiny is wearing a smirk of triumph while nestled comfortably in her (soon-to-be-ex?) hubby's embrace... Hmmm...do you take this as a simple sign of mutual respect between an amicably separating couple...or is TI finally seeing the fault in his ways and making baby steps toward heading home like Tiny told him to do? What do you think? Should "side-piece Bernice" be worried about Tiny possibly reclaiming her position with Tip and pushing the "pass-around" out of the picture?? Hit the flip for more... When people are introduced to you and know you in one way, when you flip the script and change your look, it either stimulates excitement or encourages criticism. The following women on this list (okay, with the exception of maybe one), were known for having a little more meat on their bones, but when they slimmed down, people had a lot to say. Check out 10 women who were criticized for losing weight.
You know you’re going to get a fair share of criticism when you write a book called Skinny Women Are Evil: Notes of a Big Girl in a Small-Minded World and then lose a heap of weight. But as she told Hot 97, she lost the weight for her family — not for anyone else.

“My family is the secret. I’m 45 years old and I have babies,” she said. “I want to have the opportunity to know their babies. Going at the rate I was going, I was going to lose that opportunity. I would be neglectful to my family because of my self neglect.”

I Wish TI Would Stop Telling People To Mind Their Business When It Comes To His Possible Divorce

I’m so interested to see whether or not Tiny and TI actually end up getting that divorce she’s filed for. After all, by her own admission, Tiny has been through quite a bit with that husband of hers. Her friends have spoken about it publicly on social media. Tiny has liked those posts. And the screengrab is real, so we’ve seen it. There was the not-so-subtle song about cutting d*cks off. So we know there has been some drama for some time. And some of it has played out in the public eye.
But not just the drama, the narrative of Tiny and TI’s relationships struggles have also been countered by the reality show, TI and Tiny’s The Family Hustle. The show which has been likened to “The Cosby Show” one too many times. From the last time I watched the show, they come across looking pretty close to picture perfect. And watching the family come through sitcom-like challenges, laughing at both TI and Tiny’s antics and fall in love with sometimes adorable, sometimes mischevious kids.
And you know how it is when you watch a family for months on end, you start to feel like you know them. And while in our rational minds, we know we do not, in a lot of ways both Tiny and TI have invited us into their home.
Literally.

Kanye West Calabasas Collection Drops… And Sells Out

With a few weeks to go before the arrival of Spring, Kanye West’s Calabasas collection has finally arrived and is…well was available for purchase via YeezySupply.com. Unfortunately it seems like everything’s already sold out.

The highly anticipated collection dropped without warning when Surface Magazine sent out a tweet stating that the collection was going to be available within minutes. Needless to say that’s probably how long it took for it to completely sell out.
Aside from the $20 socks and $18 pins nothing seems to be available anymore.
Even guerilla style releases aren’t enough to stop the hypebeasts from striking quickfast!
Check out pictures of what you missed out on after the jump and let us know if you would’ve dropped $200 on the crewneck sweaters.

Michael Blackson Accused Of Cheating On Georgia Reign

Comedian Michael Blackson's being blasted for being a dumbazz "neega" for allegedly cheating on his girlfriend. If you keep up with the Ghanaian funny guy then you know that he's now planning to marry his longtime girlfriend/"Living With Funny" costar Georgia Reign. [protected-iframe id="b2f16ec962a749ea5692442ae0b0777b-568005-5043748" info="//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js" class="instagram-media"] [protected-iframe id="cdbb29ecace8bb5fc83f3e0a07c8d089-568005-5043748" info="//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js" class="instagram-media"] Unfortunately for him however, a video surfaced today of a full-frontal Michael seemingly in a hotel room with a woman who's NOT his fiancee. We (of course) can't show you the video, but Michael's since copped pleas claiming that the video first posted by TheShadeRoom was submitted by an angry ex.
"First of all that's not a hotel, that's my house in Delaware I bought back in 2008," wrote Michael. "That pic looks about 4 yrs old because I was lighter back then, my ex is still mad about that bladder infection and the b*** misses the mutombo."

SURELY, Michael isn't stepping out on all this thickalicious goodness---right? More reactions from Michael on the cheating video on the flip.

Michael's blasting TSR for affecting his brand with the tape.
