Tony-awarding winning actress Cynthia Eviro has signed on to play prolific hero and abolitionist Harriet Tubman. ‘The Color Purple’ star will play the title character who is now known as a black-American hero who escaped the shackles of slavery and then helped hundreds of other slaves get free by using channel of safe houses and the Underground Railroad according to Deadline.
Harriet Tubman also served a spy for the Union during the Civil War and fought for women’s right to vote during that period of time.

After telling Bossip’s “Don’t Be Scared” podcast that she’s still in love with her ex Ceaser and responding to rumors that he had a baby with a side chick, a tearful Dutchess Lattimore told David, Dani and Jah why she initially stayed in her “unhealthy relationship.”
According to Dutch even after Cease was caught in bed with a woman he had unprotected sex with, they reconciled because she “felt like she had to be there.”

Tamron Hall has been a hot item in the headlines lately, due largely to her leaving NBC after being pretty much pushed out by Megyn Kelly’s arrival.
But we just learned that at Tamron doesn’t have to deal with her new job search all alone! In an interview filmed before her exit from NBC, the anchor revealed to Steve Harvey that she’s been seeing someone.
“Whenever I see Steve, he says something about my clothes, and then you ask me, ‘When are you going to get married?’ ” Hall said in the interview, which aired Thursday.
“The only person who’s told me more is my mom. You and my mom, I know when I see my mom and I see Steve, I have to start rehearsing. I start going through magazines and cutting out pictures of men. ‘This is my new boyfriend. This is him.’ I’m prepared for you this time,” she said. “Well, not that kind of prepared. I’m not getting married.”
“But I have a boyfriend now,” she said to Harvey’s surprise. “Now you have mixed feelings because you didn’t pick him, you haven’t approved of him.”
Hall didn’t reveal many more details, although she said her boo works in entertainment. She also told Steve that dating in the public eye is probably harder for her partners than for her, since they’re the ones who will still have to “see her” on TV after any breakups.
Hall also talked about the fund she’s established in her sister’s name during the interview.

A Florida man told police detectives he stole $7 BILLION in illegal transfers from a bank because “Jesus Christ created wealth for everyone” reports NBC Miami. John Haskew pled guilty this week to making a false statement to the federal government.
The fraudy count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Prosecutors say the unemployed Haskew needed to pay off a debt to the federal government. To do that, he provided a bank routing number that wasn’t his. He subsequently made over 70 transactions worth $7 billion with that routing number.
According to the complaint, Haskew told investigators “he believed he could obtain wealth that Jesus Christ created for him.”

The woman who allegedly bore Reggie Bush’s son last week plans to paternity test a Major League Baseball player after her baby came out “too light,” BOSSIP has learned.
Monique Exposito gave birth to baby Preston Alexander Exposito on Super Bowl Sunday, but she is “obsessed” with the fact that the baby doesn’t have Bush’s color, according to a source.
The 34-year-old new mom is apparently so worried, that she plans to DNA test Miami Marlins player Giancarlo Stanton, who she also allegedly had a liaison with around the time she got pregnant.
Stanton, 27, recently signed a $325 million contract with the Marlins, so if he is indeed the father, Exposito would actually be better off financially than if Bush was the dad. We’ve reached out Stanton for comment.
Before she left the hospital this week, she had to sign the baby’s birth certificate but left the father’s information blank.
Exposito has reportedly banned family and friends from snapping pics of the tot, who witnesses described as having straight hair and a light complexion, a source with knowledge of the situation told BOSSIP.
In an ironic twist, Exposito gave the baby the last name of the man who raised her but discovered wasn’t her real father a few years ago. She also named the baby after her estranged husband, Alex Bastin.
Bastin has since filed for divorce, and as part of his petition said there was no way he was the father and demanded to know who was.
Preston is allegedly the result of two liaisons between Exposito, a Miami cocktail waitress, and the married Buffalo Bills player.
A Republican student organization is under fire after at least one member passed out a Valentine’s Day card with an anti-Semitic message.
The card read, “My love 4 u burns like 6,000 Jews.”
The group has since apologized but should more action be taken?
A Central Michigan University registered student organization apologized via social media late Wednesday night after an anti-Semitic Valentine’s Day card apparently handed out by a member of the group sparked anger among students and community members.
The Valentine features a photo of Adolph Hitler on the front and the words, “My love 4 u burns like 6,000 Jews,” and is signed “XOXO, Courtney.”
The inflammatory card was among of collection in a bag compiled Valentine’s Day party the Central Michigan University College Republican’s hosted Wednesday night; that bag was then handed to students sitting in Anspach hall, according to a post from the student group.
A photo of the Valentine hit Facebook and Twitter Wednesday night and the group posted an apology to Facebook while fielding angry messages.
In response to the card several dozen people participated in a rally against hate speech on campus, and CMU President George Ross addressed the situation in a written statement Thursday afternoon.
“We are deeply disappointed by last night’s situation with a Valentine card containing an inappropriate sentiment that was produced during a student organization meeting. This is not who we are as a campus community,” Ross wrote.
“Such hurtful, offensive language, while protected by the First Amendment, is unacceptable and is not consistent with our values and standards.”
This is just one of several instances of Republicans being outta pocket since Sunkist Stalin got in office.

So what had happened WAS… Well if you watched the video you already know, Lena was introduced, Maria mentioned watching the first three episodes of the last season of “Girls” and the first thing out of Dunham’s mouth was PENIS.

Michigan billionaire Betsy DeVos became the nation’s secretary of education this week. The Republican-ruled Senate voted on the confirmation of DeVos to serve as the Trump administration’s secretary of education, a close vote that required Vice President Mike Pence to break with a tie-breaking vote.
FYI: This was the first time in American history that a Vice President would have to break a tie during a confirmation for a presidential nominee.
Well, it looks like her first week isn’t going that well. DeVos was physically blocked by protesters from entering a D.C. school. Watch the video below:

Troy Ave got good news Friday in a Manhattan courtroom.
A judge OK’d easing his bail restrictions so he can start performing again on the road and travel to New Jersey to spend time with his kids, BOSSIP has learned.
The Manhattan District Attorney agreed to let Troy travel out of state for performances, but he’ll have to have security with him for events, and any place he performs must have crowd security measures, like body and bag searches. Troy himself will also have to submit to a search, and he has to notify the District Attorney a week in advance of when he plans to go out on the road.
Troy must also continue to wear his GPS ankle bracelet.
These new rules are much less strict than his original bail conditions, which included a curfew, banned him from bars and clubs and restricted him to the city’s five boroughs – effectively keeping him from working for nearly nine months.
The Brooklyn rapper is accused of shooting up the backstage of a T.I. concert in New York last year. But Troy has insisted from the beginning that he defended himself after watching his best friend Roland McPhatter get shot right in front of him.

“We are very happy that he’s going to have the opportunity to tour, because it’s really the core of his business model as a performer,” Troy’s lawyer, John Stella, told BOSSIP. “Without doing the shows, he doesn’t have the same amount of record sales. He’s extremely excited to be able to put the green light on his people booking shows and getting out there and working.”
Prosecutors acknowledged that the cops’ arrest of internet raconteur Taxstone – aka Daryl Campbell – in connection to the shooting impacted their decision to ease Troy’s bail rules. In that case, the government alleges that Taxstone’s DNA was found all over the gun in question. He is being held without bail and his case is pending in Manhattan Federal Court.
Stella said they are still waiting to see how Taxstone’s federal case will impact their own.
When reached via text for comment, Troy responded with a “blessed” emoji followed by several exclamation points and a “money bag” emoji.
He is due back in court next month.
Trying to be hip when it’s not in your nature never goes well. The DC Police tried to include a super popular meme in their tweet and, well, in these times that’s not the move. The whole entire internet let out their frustrations about police in a way that probably made them feel like d-bags.
