Waka Flocka was talking to BBC when he got on the topic of Gucci Mane coming home. The former friend says they have never really been super cool and, more or less, Gucci knows his place. Saying he’s exposing people, Waka went further explaining Gucci hasn’t shot a video in East Atlanta since being home for a reason.

Jason Derulo and his band of homeboys got put off of yet another flight for pulling shenanigans on Wednesday…but Derulo says this one isn’t his fault.
In fact he says HE’s the one that;s outraged by the airline’s behavior, swearing that he was disrespected, spoken down to, and cursed his pilot…all because he’s a Black man.
It all went down at Miami International Airport on Wednesday. According to TMZ,
Jason and 8 members of his entourage arrived to board their flight to L.A. and attempted checking almost 20 bags. Jason says that as a preferred Concierge Key class flyer, he has a higher baggage allowance than the average guy, but for whatever reason, the American Airlines staff member at the desk wasn’t hip, and informed him that the bags couldn’t fly.
One of Jason’s boys stayed behind to handle the baggage issue — which appears to have been a result of the group’s late arrival — by checking the bags on a later flight.
However, the airline was ready to charge Derulo $6k for the baggage. Derulo’s boy called him to let him know the updated fee…and when he heard it he blew his top. He demanded that the plane turn around or waive the ridiculous charge.
He says as a result, the pilot went off on him and 15 cops were waiting for him at the terminal when he returned. Take a listen to his side of the story:
Hmmm…it sounds like tempers were flaring high on both ends. Besides…if Derulo was flying commercial, doesn’t he realize planes don’t typically turn around just because one passenger isn’t happy with the charges he incurred and gets loud about it.

The matriarch of the Jackson family, Katherine Jackson, has filed a restraining order against her nephew amid claims that she has become a victim of elder abuse.
According to TMZ, the order was filed against Trent Lamar Jackson. The papers pinpoint Trent as an “abusive con-man” who took advantage of an aging Mrs. Jackson for the last few years in an effort to control her finances, love rent-free in her guest house, and keep her away from her children so they wouldn’t intervene with his plans.
The 86-year-old also reportedly believes that Trent’s been siphoning money from her accounts. She says that he closely monitors her conversations with her own kids, and she has to go so far as to hide in her closet so she can speak freely to them. Her kids are willing to testify against Trent in court.
Katherine is currently in London visiting Janet and the new baby, but says she fears what Trent might do to her on her return home, now that his actions have been revealed.
She tried to fire Trent from his 6-figre job as her driver with the Sheriff present for safety just last week, but says that Trent took off just as the cops and her lawyer arrived on the scene.
Trent now has to stay 100 yards away from Katherine, move out of her guest house, and return all his keys to her properties.
SMH! No wonder Paris was concerned about her grandmother all those years ago! Who knows how long this has been going on. You would think one of her kids would have stepped in long ago to put a stop to all of this…

Apparently, doing all the right things” isn’t quite enough for Black folks to close the wealth gap between ourselves and whites…and it all boils down to one big factor.
No it’s not hard work, higher education, or going into more lucrative fields. The bottom line is…inheritance. Many white people are simply born with a claim to substantial amounts of family money.
According to Bloomberg, recent findings from the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances suggest that the gap in wealth between white households and African American homes lands at $13 in net wealth in median white households for every $1 in net wealth of the median black household.
However, the traditional methods of wealth accumulation do virtually nothing for Blacks to begin to close said gap. A study from researchers Brandeis University and public policy group Demos finds that neither attending college,
raising children in a two-parent household, working full time, nor spending less does anything to the racial wealth gap.
For instance, college attendance is one of the number one ways Black people seek to widen their earning potential. While it definitely helps us to earn more and thus accumulate more wealth, the median white adult attending college already has 7.2 times the wealth of the median black adult. The same goes for two-parent homes, full time employment, curbing spending, etc. — the average white person making the same exact moves already has more money.
Another study from Duke University also shoots down the myth of African Americans being too-heavy spenders and over-consumers. At every income level, blacks actally spend less than similarly situated whites.
DAMN…so if all this is getting us nowhere, then what is the answer??

Yesterday, we reported on a viral video of George Lopez during a recent standup show. The Mexican comedian angered some patrons after blasting interracial dating within his community then calling a black woman at the show a ‘bi**h’ multiple times.

But according to Arizona 12 News, the woman who Lopez called out is actually of both black and Mexican heritage. “When she stood up she put two hands in the air and she was like, ‘I’m Mexican and black,’” Juan Quezada, the woman’s friend, told the press while laughing. “She was joking with the whole situation.”
Lopez’s victim says she has been overwhelmed by the media attention, so she hasn’t gone on camera but in the morning she did call into the Tino Cochino Radio Show on Power 98.3 & 101.9.
The woman told the radio show she was not offended by the joke and that she was joking when she stood up, but Lopez was the one who got offended.
“She was not offended at the racist comment,” Quezada said, “She was more offended after the fact when he kept going and going and going at her.”

Another day, another college athlete looking at rape charges.
22-year-old Blair Mendy has been arrested and charged with third-degree rape, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child, Stony Brook campus police said Wednesday.
The college sophomore, who played two games for the Stony Brook Seawolves this year, previously attended Loyola Marymount University, where he played for the 2013-2014 squad.
NY Daily News reported that Mendy’s father, a Palo Alto banker, was shocked by the allegations:
“I think my kid was raised very well,” Augustus Mendy told Newsday. “I find it very incredible to believe. I taught him to be a gentleman, treat ladies well. I always taught him to make the right choice.”
Mendy is expected to be arraigned today.
There aren’t very many details so we’d hate to jump to assumptions but it sounds like a possible statutory situation. Considering this kid has had his college career extended by so many years, he’s probably still socializing with people way younger.
Seems like these situations run rampant with college athletes. Whatever the current programs are to stop this, they don’t seem to be working.

Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin says she’s ready to retire this year. The iconic songstress told Click On Detroit, that she plans to “retire” this year after the release of her new album after more than 56 years in the music business.
“I must tell you, I am retiring this year,” the ‘Natural Woman’ singer said.
Franklin said she is excited about her latest (and last) album and “can’t wait to get in the studio.” The album is expected to be released in the Fall, with a tour that includes only select dates. She won’t have more than one date planned per month, and the full tour will last “maybe for six months.”
This will be my last year,” Franklin said. “I will be recording, but this will be my last year in concert. This is it.”
She’s not retiring completely. She said she will do “some select things, many one a month, for six months out of the year.” But she said her grandchildren are leaving for college and she wants to spend time with them.

Simone Biles just pettily put one of her Final Five teammates on blast. Gabby Douglas who was blasted during the Olympics because people thought she dissed her teammates, tweeted the other day the below message:

Footage has leaked from a British jail showing inmates involved in a fight club. The prison has been hit with riots of late and the violence has gone crazy in the latest years of the prison. Cell phones in prison are pretty common now, so this footage of a brawl and prisoners yelling “finish him” shouldn’t come as a surprise.
