Black Television News Channel Links With Charter Communications

Need more black news?

Black Television News Channel, America’s only provider of 24/7 cable news programming, wants to bring a unique voice of African American communities to more screens across the nation. According to the news site BTNC will provide access to information and educational programming to meet the specific needs of the African-American community that is a major consumer of subscription television services. BTNC will provide a new voice that represents black Americans in mainstream media while appealing to political, economic, and social discourse.

BTNC has recently announced a multi-year carriage agreement with Charter Communications reports Eurweb. Charter is known as a hugely successful broadband communications company and the second largest cable operator in the United States.

Under the historic deal, Charter Communications will launch BTNC to millions of Spectrum TV subscribers in 14 of the top 25 African American TV markets in the nation.

These American markets include New York City, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas, Detroit, Boston, Tampa, Orlando, Cleveland, Charlotte, Birmingham, Norfolk, Raleigh-Durham, and New Orleans. Sources claim BTNC now has carriage agreements with three of the four major subscription television providers.

Creepy Florida Man Hides From Cops In Spongebob Clothing

Only in Florida…

Law enforcement officers in St. Petersburg, Florida say they’ve caught the crazy creeper who broke into a home last week, terrifying a sleeping woman then was later seen peeping on another woman as she was getting dressed for work.

According to FOX 13 News, the woman called Tampa police early in the morning to report that she had awoken in her living room to find a man standing over her. The creeper, whom police said was dressed in “Spongebob clothing,” ran from the home as the woman called officers to arrest his freaky azz.

According to police, the man in both incidents was Steven Charles Kirkland, who was already wanted for two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12 from back on January 22. The 32-year-old is also a suspect in an indecent exposure case at Bay Vista Park that same day.

Kirkland now faces several new charges, including burglary and trespassing.

St. Pete officer fear there may be even more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them ASAP!

One of the standout stars of the New Edition biopic is facing controversy.

Woody McClain who played an adult aged Bobby Brown in the movie, is getting dragged after alleged tweets he made dissing black women resurfaced.

Robin Thicke Gets To See Son After Restraining Order

Robin Thicke isn’t singing the Blues anymore!

We previously reported that the struggle crooner was facing problems seeing his 6-year-old son Julian. According to TMZ, Thicke was seen at Kids World this weekend in L.A. Despite a restraining order put in place by ex-wife Paula Patton, prohibiting him from going anywhere near their young son in the wake of allegations he was physically abusive to Julian. Robin has vehemently denied being physically abusive to all the parties involved.

Close sources familiar with famous exes claim Paula has let go of the co-parenting problems and agreed to let Robin see Julian 3 days a week for a few hours each day but only under the condition that a court-appointed monitor is present. The gossip site cites a monitor was present during the trip to Kids World.

Paula’s sincere change of heart stems from the fact that the actress wants her son Julian to have a close relationship with his father.

Trayvon Martin’s Parents Write 5-Year Anniversary Book

The parents of Trayvon Martin have released a book following the tragic murder of this son by child-killer George Zimmerman. Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin took extensive notes during the trial in the days and weeks after the Sanford Police Department’s investigation reports South Florida.

Fulton and Martin say they don’t want their son’s memory to start with murder but how their son lived a powerful life prior. Trayvon would have turned 22 just last week…

“We don’t want people to remember Trayvon by the way he was killed, so it was important to show why he was killed, to humanize Trayvon as a child,” Martin says in a phone interview. “By us writing a book, it was therapeutic, informative and inspirational.”

This Patriots Tight End Is Worthy Of Our Admiration

Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett says he’ll skip out on a visit to the White House if the team is extended an invitation in honor of their Super Bowl win.

“It is what it is People know how I feel about it,” Bennett told the Dallas Morning News, when asked if he’d attend a White House celebration. “Just follow me on Twitter.”

Earlier in the week, Bennett told another Dallas MN reporter he wouldn’t attend a White House event:

“Because I don’t support the guy in the house,” he said.

It’s been well documented that both Patriots owner Bob Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady are friends and supporters of Donald Trump but Bennett says he isn’t concerned about Kraft’s disapproval.

“I’m not really worried about that,” Bennett said. “I’m not worried about it at all.”

Bennett says he doesn’t bring political talk to the locker room.

“You just don’t bring that to work,” he said. “We all have our beliefs. We accept people for who they are.”

We can see why that is. Brady does have to throw him the ball after all.

It’s worth noting that Tom Brady declined President Obama’s invite to the White House when he honored the Patriots last win. He said he had a “family commitment” and went on vacay with Giselle and their kids.

Florida Man Parks Truck On Attacker’s Car In Road Rage Incident

Florida, the land of the utterly ridiculous and somehow still-believable.

A 18-year-old father was brutally beaten at a red light by an 53-year-old insane driver who had caused several accidents in the area.

According to ClickOrlando, the teen’s baby mama lied and told the attacker that she had a gun and the road rager called her bluff. Adalberto Aponte went back to his Toyota Camry to retrieve his REAL gun and that left the young dad with no choice but to protect his family from potential murder…

Aponte told the family, “I’ll show you a real gun,” and then started to walk toward his vehicle. Traffic prevented the truck driver from moving forward, so instead, he backed up his truck and parked it on top of the Camry, so Aponte wouldn’t get the gun and cause further harm to his family, police said.

Witnesses were able to confirm the victim’s versions of events.

Aponte was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary, battery, criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license. The truck driver was not arrested.

There is something truly wrong with the people in the panhandle. SMFH.

Flight Attendant Alerts Police After Human Trafficking Victim Passes Message In Bathroom

Believe it or not, human trafficking is a serious issue in America. Fortunately, there are quick thinking flight attendants like Sheila Frederick on the job.

Frederick has been sharing a personal story about how she helped save a trafficking victim on one of her flights in 2011.

“Something in the back of my mind said something is not right,” Frederick told WTSP.

Frederick said the girl wouldn’t look at her or respond to questions, the man she was flying with answered everything.

“He was well dressed, that’s what kind of got me because why is he well dressed and she is looking disheveled and out of sorts,” Frederick said.

Frederick was able to tell the girl under her breath to go to the bathroom. The veteran flight attendant put a note on the mirror for her.

“She wrote on the note she needed help,” Frederick said.

Frederick notified the pilot who alerted police. She had just saved a teenage girl from being a victim of human trafficking.

Amazing! We’re so glad she was able to help. Frederick says she’s even kept in touch with the girl over the years and that she’s now in college and doing much better.

“I put my phone number on the note that I left for her and I guess she memorized it, so a few weeks later, she called me,” Frederick said.

Flight attendants have now been trained to look for the signs of human trafficking which include someone who appears to be being controlled, who is bruised or battered or someone who won’t answer questions or make eye contact.

Blac Chyna Worried Dream Will Contract Diabetes Like Rob

Over the weekend Blac Chyna posted a number of adorable shots with her beautiful children King and Dream wearing matching red and white striped pajamas.

The photos come amid reports that Blac Chyna is freaking out over fears for her daughter’s future after learning she’s at serious risk of contracting Type 2 diabetes, like her father Rob Kardashian.

According to OK! Magazine reports:

“She was googling Rob’s condition after he was rushed to hospital last month, and stumbled on a chilling fact,” a source tells OK!.

Our insider continues, “She read that the children of a parent who’s been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes before the age of 50 stand a one in seven chance of getting the disease.”

“Chyna’s frantically consulting nutritionists and diet books to see how she can stop this,” says the source.

We can see how that could definitely be scary, especially because Dream is still a little baby. Diabetes for kids can be really dangerous. Our prayers are with little Dream.

Any parents out there whose kids have diabetes who have any suggestions for other folks who may have the same concerns as Chyna? Any nurses or doctors who can recommend ways we can all avoid contracting this disease?
