Taking a cue from Octavia Spencer, both Henson and Williams have bought out screenings of Hidden Figures at movie theaters in Virginia, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Washington D.C. on Sunday. Spencer paid for a free screening of the critically-acclaimed film earlier this month, saying that her own mother would not have been able to afford to take her and her siblings.

Tomas Dean and Whitney Meyer came together in swirly lust to create two adorable daughters, Kalani and Jarani. The sisters aren’t just any ol’ biracial siblings however, they are twins and not just any ol’ twins, “chromosome twins”.
The girls were born at the same time but they are essentially two different skin tones. Kalani and Jarani are referred to as “chromosome twins” and their odds of being born this way was about 1-in-500 according to a report in PEOPLE.
An excited Whitney told KHQA:
“At first when they were born, I wanted to believe it but it’s so rare I didn’t think it’d happen to my twins! But sure enough they’re biracial twins!”

I have been married to a controlling man for 5 years.
We have 2 beautiful children. He doesn’t want me wearing certain clothes. He won’t let me go out to the club with my family. He doesn’t want me to go to college. I finally got him to “let me” go to the gym. Things have gotten abusive. One time, since the 9 years we’ve been together, and he physically attacked me. Lately, we have lost chemistry. We don’t even walk side by side. We both do our separate things on our phones and we really don’t spend much time together.
So, I play a certain game on my phone that also has open chat and here comes “Prince Charming.” We have lots in common. He’s 13 years older than me and has much more life experience than I, and he’s easy on the eyes. He lives about hundreds of miles away, but he plans to come visit one day. We have great conversation. I feel that I may be having an emotional affair with this guy and I know it’s wrong. So, I keep trying to forget about him, but I can’t. I feel so attached and attracted to him.
I finally got my hubby to agree to me going back to school after a couple of arguments about it. I do plan on leaving him once I finish. He doesn’t know that yet, but I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. He’s too jealous, controlling and emotionally unavailable. But, my family is making me feel bad by wanting to divorce him because he is a good provider. I am a stay-at-home mom. My question is should I leave this guy alone? Should I continue to talk to him as a “friend?” He has expressed that he feels a bond between he and I, but I just don’t know what to do. Please, Bossip, help me. PLEASE?!?! – Miserable Marriage
Dear Ms. Miserable Marriage,
Leave the guy alone. He is not your friend. He is not your sounding board. Stop confessing, professing, and romanticizing a relationship with a man you don’t even know. You have a bigger issue on your hands and you worried about whether or not you should continue to pursue a relationship with a man whom you don’t even know. Girl, grow up.
I’m curious to know why you married a controlling man, and I am sure that at least the four years prior to marrying him you knew he was controlling. Ma’am these signs of abuse, control, and aggressive behavior didn’t just start. They have always been there, and you have to ask yourself why did you ignore those signs? Why did you get married to a man that exhibited behaviors of abuse, control and aggression? I am sure he was telling you what to do, what to wear, and where to go while you were dating him. This did not happen overnight. This has been ongoing for a while, and you have been putting up with it for years. Why do you stay?
You know that you are in an abusive relationship. You know that he is controlling. So, instead of waiting to leave after you finish school, why not leave now? You can get the divorce and move on with your life. What does your family have to do with it? Why do you care if they are making you feel bad for leaving a horrible situation? Why stay in an unhealthy relationship?
If you want change, then make it happen. You cannot wait on someone else to create change for you. Change happens when you make it happen. You’re not happy in your marriage, then change it. You’re not happy with what you’re doing in life, then change it. Your husband cannot grant you, or give you the change you want. He is in your way. He is the obstacle. You are asking for his permission to do certain things, i.e. to go to the gym, to go back to school, if you can go with you family and friends, and what to wear. You are not his child. You are a grown woman. You don’t need his approval to go back to school, or to go to the gym. Just go and do you.
And, why are you entertaining another man in a virtual world? You are on some app, or whatever virtual internet chat room talking with another man about your life and relationship. Why? Your marriage is in trouble, and you are in an abusive relationship, and instead of seeking advice, counseling, or resources to get out of your situation you are on some app talking with a stranger about hooking up. That doesn’t even make sense. You are being mentally and emotionally abused by your husband and you think you have the emotional wherewithal to entertain another relationship and that you are mentally and emotionally equipped to possibly date another man? Girl, stop. Just stop.
If you don’t want to be married, then get the divorce. If you are being abused then why would your family encourage you to stay with an abuser? If you are not happy, and your husband is controlling, and mentally and emotionally abusing you, then leave. You are in an unhealthy relationship. It is not stimulating you. He is not encouraging you, empowering you, uplifting you, or even celebrating you. Ma’am, you can’t stay in this relationship and hope change will occur, or even that after you get your college education that you will leave him and you will find your peace. Why remain and stay another day, minute, or second with someone who is physically abusive? Save yourself. Save yourself for your children. Save your life. You’ve got to think of your own well-being and that of your children. And, entertaining another man is not going to resolve or fix your problem. It is time to focus on yourself. Shamea Morton is once again defending herself against claims made by Phaedra Parks.
As previously reported Shamea was horrified to see her “best friend” Porsha Williams seemingly agree with Phaedra that she and Kandi were in a secret lesbian/Todd Tucker threesome relationship because Shamea “f***s everybody’s husband.”

People are steaming mad at Rickey Smiley’s teenage son and the comedian/radio host is responding.
On a recent episode of “Rickey Smiley: For Real”, Rickey’s 15-year-old son Malik was seen going on a blind date with a black girl.
When his cousin, who set him up on the date, asked him how it was going Malik told him he wasn’t feeling it. Why? Because he doesn’t find black girls attractive.
“Her face,” said Malik. “Black females are not attractive to me. I look at them like my sisters… I went to an all-white school. Sometimes people have different tastes, and I don’t have a taste for her.”

Saldana now says that she is going to put her faith in Trump until her proves her wrong. The Dominican actress appeared on Univision’s Jorge Ramos’ Sunday show “Al Punto” to discuss her new movie “Live By Night” and was asked about her political stance:
“I know, and I think I have to wait and see when things start happening.”
“I think it’s my duty as an American to stay here, and see what happens: to unite my voice and my job and my actions to all the people who are trying to push forward, because if I leave in reality I’m not going to be helping this country to continue progressing. I think this country has been successful because those who’ve stayed have kept fighting.”
She later added why she would trust him as the leader of this nation…
“I have faith in him because he is the president of my nation and I wasn’t raised to prefer one person over another. I was raised to be an American and to give my duty and my respect to America, which is why I’m going to give him the respect he deserves until the other shoe drops, how we Dominicans say.”

If you didn’t know already, Chrissy Teigen is one of the best follows on all of Twitter. She’s not afraid to clap back at someone at a moment’s notice and it’s always entertaining. However in the last few weeks she’s been more prone to make people delete their accounts and cower into a cave of their own ignorance.
See? Chrissy Teigen is a national treasure and we should tread her as such. Salute this woman and look at the ways she’s been making people cry all month.
Out of all of the lackluster moments from last Friday’s inauguration ceremonies, the absolute worst moment might have been (for me at least) watching former President Barack Obama and Michelle hop on Air Force One to Palm Springs. With a wave goodbye, it was the official “deuces!” The end of an era.
To say they’re now “chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool” would be an understatement. Despite the convoy that has to follow them for security purposes, the pair are keeping a low profile. Mr. Obama was spotted enjoying trips to the gym as well as a round of golf. According to Splash News, the couple stayed at the desert hilltop home of Spanish ambassador James Costos for the weekend. It’s quite swanky, landing a feature in Architectural Digest in 2015.
If you were online this past Saturday when the Women’s March on Washington and demonstrations in solidarity were taking place around the world, you probably saw a lot of the elaborate signs being held up by women, men and children. One particular sign kept it pretty simple, but sparked quite the conversation when it was spotted in the crowd in D.C. and shared on social media:
Nas is using his HSTRY Clothing brand to create a new line that will benefit the National Black Child Development Institute.
Nas is hoping to inject some new energy into Black History Month this year when he debuts a new collection from his HSTRY brand. The collection will feature t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and dashikis featuring positive imagery and messages aimed a Black youth.
Some of the designs may look familiar. One features the classic “Black Bart Simpson” rocking a jersey inspired by Spike Lee’s “Mookie” character from Do The Right Thing. Another has a version of a Dilla-inspired Charlie Brown rendering. There is also a Black Pink Panther design as well as shirts with the iconic phrases “I’m Black And I’m Proud” and “Black Don’t Crack.”
Despite filing “dem papers” it’s looking like Tiny doesn’t really want to say goodbye to T.I.. During a recent Instagram live broadcast the singer/reality star not only urged her fans to go see Tip’s new movie with Jamie Foxx “Sleepless,” she also answered a fan who asked if she’d go back to T.I.. You can see her response at the 2:15 mark.
He need to come back to me, baby. He need to come on back to me… I’m where I’m supposed to be at.

A Memphis mom says she was shocked to find out that her teenage son was dead after people started to inquire about his organs. According to the AJC, 15-year-old Jaheim Walker was killed during a drive-by shooting late Saturday night and she received a call for his organs shortly after.
Their mother, Natasha Walker, said she was confused about their condition and location until she got a call about the 15-year-old. The call was not from hospital personnel.
“I get a phone call before the detectives make it here asking for my baby’s tissues,” Natasha Walker said. “I said, ‘Is he?’ I never knew that he was not here. I never knew I had a deceased child.”
The Mid-South Transplant Foundation issued this official statement after contacting the mother about her son’s organs:
“Mid-South Transplant Foundation (MSTF) has processes and procedures in place for obtaining authorization for both organ and tissue donation. We are still reviewing the details, however, MSTF was informed that Jaheim Walker’s mother had been told of his untimely death before we contacted her. MSTF extends our deepest sympathy to Natasha Walker and her family.”

Paris Jackson is a proud black woman!
Michael Jackson’s oldest child says her late father ensured that his kids knew their African-American heritage. Paris recently sat down with Rolling Stone Magazine to discuss how she identifies herself despite some opposition.
“He is my father,” she says, making fierce eye contact. “He will always be my father. He never wasn’t, and he never will not be. People that knew him really well say they see him in me, that it’s almost scary.
“I consider myself black,” she says, adding later that her dad “would look me in the eyes and he’d point his finger at me and he’d be like, ‘You’re black. Be proud of your roots.’ And I’d be like, ‘OK, he’s my dad, why would he lie to me?’ So I just believe what he told me. ‘Cause, to my knowledge, he’s never lied to me.
Paris adds that most people think she’s white because of her facial features and complexion:
“Most people that don’t know me call me white,” Paris concedes. “I’ve got light skin and, especially since I’ve had my hair blond, I look like I was born in Finland or something.” She points out that it’s far from unheard of for mixed-race kids to look like her – accurately noting that her complexion and eye color are similar to the TV actor Wentworth Miller’s, who has a black dad and a white mom.
