Yordano Ventura And Andy Marte Die In Car Crashes

Two professional baseball players died this weekend in separate car crashes. Yordano Ventura,25, and Andy Marte,33, both died in separate car crashes in the Dominican Republic. Ventura was killed in a highway car crash and Marte died after a car her was traveling in struck a house.

PEOPLE reports:

Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura and former major league infielder Andy Marte both have died in separate traffic accidents in the Dominican Republic Sunday, authorities confirmed to the Associated Press.

Ventura died on a highway leading to the town of Juan Adrian, highway patrol spokesman Jacobo Mateo told the outlet. It is unclear if he was driving.

The Royals confirmed the news of the 25-year-old pitcher’s death on their Twitter.

“Our prayers right now are with Yordano’s family as we mourn this young man’s passing,” Royals general manager Dayton Moore said in the statement. “He was so young and so talented, full of youthful exuberance and always brought a smile to everyone he interacted with. We will get through this as an organization, but right now is a time to mourn and celebrate the life of Yordano.”

According to AP, Marte was driving a car that struck a house along the highway between San Francisco de Macoris and Pimentel.

Marte was an infielder who had played with the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks, MLB.com reported.

Woman Beats Pregnant Sister For Not Returning Christmas Weave

A Jacksonville woman was arrested after brutally beating her knocked up sister for not returning a Christmas weave. According to The Smoking Gun, 25-year-old Aryanna Ieasha Reed beat up her her younger sister Tyteahni during a confrontation Saturday afternoon at the victim’s home.

As detailed in a police report, Tyteahni told investigators that Reed had called her to demand the return of the hairpiece, which Reed had given to her sister as a Christmas present. When Tyteahni refused to return the weave, Aryanna “came to the victim’s apartment and confronted her.”

Tyteahni again “refused to give it to her because she had it on her head and didn’t want to go to work without it on her head.” At that point, the sisters began scuffling, with Reed attempting to snatch the weave off Tyteahni’s head. Reed then allegedly began raining punches down on her sister, who is a month into her pregnancy.

According to police records, the weave-angry woman was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, a felony. Florida police claim Reed became “very uncooperative” and “yelled at the top of her lungs, cursed me out, and accused me of being a racist.” The women was later released from custody Sunday after posting $35K bond.

Matt Jordan Exposes Kenya Moore

Matt Jordan is continuing to blast his ex-girlfriend Kenya Moore for her “manipulative” behavior.

According to the RHOA costar who broke windows at Kenya’s Moore Manor TWICE and was arrested four times last year, Kenya is an “evil” woman who “embarrassed, violated and flat out disrespected to him.”

Furthermore Matt is bringing up those old claims that Kenya has a married Nigerian man that gives her money and he MET him when Kenya was hospitalized.

“I sat back and watched her hold hands with another man while I sat back and watched (yes we were already seeing each other),” wrote Matt.

“I had to find out from some third party person that she was deal [sic] with some married men in Nigeria for money. Soulja Boy Faces Four Years In Prison For Felony Gun Possession

We previously reported rapper Soulja Boy was arrested after weeks of making threats online reports.

The ratchet rapper publicly offered $100k for the murder of a rival Chicago MC named Rico Recklezz. Now according to TMZ, Soulja Boy is facing four years in prison after cops found guns in his house during a December arrest.

The L.A. County D.A. just slapped him with 2 felonies — possession of an assault weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for receiving stolen property … cops say one of the guns in Soulja’s house was reportedly stolen from a cop car.

The assault weapon charge is for a Mini Draco AR-15 … which is illegal for anyone to possess in California.

Teairra Mari’s Uber Battery Case Dismissed

After she was arrested for allegedly beating the brakes off an Uber driver, Teairra Mari is off the hook.

As previously reported Teairra was accused of stealing an Uber driver’s iPhone charger, beating him, and then refusing to get out of the car until the cops showed up. 

Back in September, a mistrial was declared after the presiding judge became ill and the case was recently reheard.

Now the entire thing is FINALLY over.

TMZ reports:

Teairra Mari just had her Uber beatdown case dropped … because the driver refused to take the stand.

Prosecutors moved to dismiss 3 charges against the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star for allegedly beating the hell out of a driver and stealing his charger … the judge agreed and tossed the case.

More good news for Mari … according to court docs, her $26k bail money was returned. You’ll recall … Mari was a wanted woman this past summer when she was a no-show in court, but she got her act together and surrendered to cops.

As for why the driver flaked … Mari’s attorney, Lonnie Brandon, tells us the driver knew his story wouldn’t hold water.

Either way … Mari’s a free woman again. We’re also guessing she switched to Lyft.

Teairra faced up to two and a half years in prison.

Sprint And Jay Z Negotiate $200 Million Dollar Deal To Acquire 33% Of Tidal

Jay Z’s embattled streaming service, Tidal, just inked a deal that might brighten their future just a bit.

Today, in a press release, Tidal announced that mobile service provider Sprint cut check to acquire 33% of of the artist-owned online music provider.

“Sprint shares our view of revolutionizing the creative industry to allow artists to connect directly with their fans and reach their fullest, shared potential,” said JAY Z. “Marcelo understood our goal right away and together we are excited to bring Sprint’s 45 million customers an unmatched entertainment experience.”

Says Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure about the deal:

“Jay saw not only a business need, but a cultural one, and put his heart and grit into building TIDAL into a world-class music streaming platform that is unrivaled in quality and content,” said Claure. “The passion and dedication that these artist-owners bring to fans will enable Sprint to offer new and existing customers access to exclusive content and entertainment experiences in a way no other service can.”

According to Billboard, this deal netted Jay Z and his board of singers and rhyme-spitters $200 million.

Louisiana’s Blue Lives Matter Law Makes Resisting Arrest A Hate Crime

Louisiana’s new “Blue Lives Matter” historic law has made resisting an arrest considered a felony hate crime reports KATC. St. Martinville Police Chief Calder Hebert says the law designed to protect police officers will make offenders think twice before resisting cops.

“We don’t need the general public being murdered for no reason and we don’t need officers being murdered for no reason. We all need to just work together,” said Hebert.

Hebert is very familiar with the new hate crime law, having already enforced it since it took effect in August.

“Resisting an officer or battery of a police officer was just that charge, simply. But now, Governor Edwards, in the legislation, made it a hate crime now,” said Hebert.

Under the new law, Hebert says any offender who resists, or gets physical, with an officer can be charged with a felony hate crime.
