That’s why this Steve Harvey episode is so upsetting. He speaks openly about issues facing the black community, he is a man of God, and he has a huge platform to speak from. Unfortunately, he’s also the type of guy who orders Krug champagne for himself and Cook’s for every one else. For his own personal profit, he’s willing to perpetuate the emasculation of Asian men regardless of how hypocritical it is. He isn’t the only one doing this in 2017, but as I told myself on New Year’s, I’m not drinking anymore of this Cook’s they’re trying to pour, and neither should you.

Kim Kardashian’s Paris Police Statement Is Scary AF
Since being robbed at gunpoint in October, Kim Kardashian hasn’t said much about what happened to her.
Last week a number of suspects were taken into custody by Paris police and recently several arrests were made. In the wake of those developments, France’s Le Journal du Dimanche published Kim Kardashian’s statement to the police immediately following the robbery. In the statement, Kardashian West reveals she and her sister and a friend Simone Harouche had returned from a Paris Fashion Week event around midnight on Oct. 3. The others left around 1 a.m. and Kardashian said she went upstairs and put on a rob and started tackling some work.
“I heard noises at the door, like footsteps, and I asked, shouting, who was there. No one answered,” she said. “I called at 2:56 a.m. my bodyguard. I saw through the sliding door two people coming, plus the man from the reception who was strapped.” The concierge, who has only identified himself as 39-year-old Mr. Abdulrahman, said the pack of gunmen forced him to lead them to Kardashian’s door.
“The two men were hooded, the one had a ski mask and he had a cap and a jacket with ‘Police’ written on it,” Kardashian continued. “The individual with the ski goggles rips out my Blackberry phone.” She described one of the robbers as a “European-type individual” who spoke to her in French and was skinny and dressed in all black.
“I was wearing a bathrobe, naked underneath. Then we went in the room again and they pushed me on the bed. And, at this time, they strapped me with plastic cables and tape on my hands, then they taped my mouth and my legs,” she said in the 4 a.m. police statement, adding that they carried her into her bathtub.
There was another thief dressed in the same all-black getup, who was taller and stayed back with the security guard. “It’s the one with the ski goggles who stayed with me,” she said. “He asked me with a strong French accent where my ring was. It was placed on the bedside table. It costs $4 million.” Kardashian initially denied knowing where her treasured sparkler, which she had been flaunting on social media the same day, was, telling him, “I don’t know.”
But then, “He takes out a weapon and I show him the ring. He pointed the weapon toward me. He takes the ring, he was wearing gloves. He asked me where the jewels and the money are.”
They then emptied everything out of her purse and moved onto her jewelry box. That was filled with gems including two Cartier diamond bracelets, a Jacob gold and diamond necklace, Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, a diamond cross-shaped necklace, a yellow gold Rolex and a necklace with her son Saint’s name in diamonds.
“I think they robbed me for $5 million. They didn’t rob my cash,” Kardashian told police, adding that they took her iPhone 6 and her Blackberry. “Then they left, running.”
As soon as they were gone, Kardashian easily broke free from her restraints, telling police, “I realized they were a bit young because of the way they strapped me.”
According to the reports, Kardashian went to Simone’s room and called Kourtney. Police asked Kardashian if she could identify any of the robbers and she said she might be able to, but she wanted to know if she could leave France and return home to her children, telling police there was a private plane waiting to bring her home.

President Obama’s Last MLK Day
Today January 16, 2017, marks President Barack Obama’s last Martin Luther King Day as Commander in Chief. The President has a busy schedule today that includes a White House visit from the World Series Champs, the Washington Cubs.
According to right fielder Jason Heyward, it’s a huge honor and the significance of being a black man meeting with the first black President on MLK day isn’t lost on him.

“This is the ultimate time to go to the White House as an athlete, to meet the president after winning a ring,” Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward said at this weekend’s Cubs winter fan convention. “For me, being an African-American, there’s something (special) about it. And for my teammates who are from Venezuela, there’s something about it, guys from Alabama or Mississippi (or wherever), there’s something about it for them. Yes, there’s a lot of significance for a lot of different reasons.”
Later President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will complete an MLK Day service project.
The First couple will take to Jobs Have Priority Naylor Road Family Shelter to meet with needy families. They will also donate a White House swing set previously used by Sasha and Malia Obama.

Teenagers can be cruel to one another with jokes, insults and shaming. In this case, that cruelty lead an Zimbabwean teenager to take a very sharp non-clinical object to his…”sheathed sword” according to DailyMail.
A teenager was rushed to hospital in Zimbabwe when he attempted to circumcise himself using a MACHETE after his friends mocked his penis.
The teen attempted the DIY circumcision using the nearest sharp object he could find after his friends told him he would not get a girlfriend because he still had his foreskin in tact.
The boy was rushed to St Luke’s Mission Hospital in the country’s Lupane District, where he spent two days recovering from the botched procedure.
Doctors were very confused as to why this young man would attempt a DIY when he could have had a trained professional make a house call.
Dr Nyasha Masuka, medical director of Matabeleland North Province, told news website My Zimbabwe: ‘It seems the other boys were laughing at him for not being circumcised so he used a machete to circumcise himself and he injured himself in the process.’
‘He was rushed to St Lukes Hospital where the health staff circumcised him.’
Looks like he got his circumcision, but also got another reason to be teased. C’est la vie.

Google Celebrates MLK Day With Special Doodle And Civil Rights Photography
Google is celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr Day with a special doodle and a homepage promotion of a curated collection of Civil Rights photography from the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
Today’s doodle was illustrated by African-American artist Keith Mallett, who’s created various prominent works including the official limited edition print commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s historic breakthrough into major league baseball and the cover of Chicken Soup for The African American Soul. Both Franklin Mint and Lenox Collections have created collectibles of Keith’s most popular works. His artwork can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the world.
You may notice that beneath the Google doodle there is also a link to explore photography from the Civil Rights movement.
The High Museum of Art holds one of the most significant collections of photographs of the Civil Rights Movement. The works in this exhibition are only a small selection of the collection, which includes more than 300 photographs that document the social protest movement, from Rosa Parks’s arrest to the Freedom Rides to the tumultuous demonstrations of the late 1960s. The city of Atlanta—the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—was a hub of civil rights activism and it figures prominently in the collection.

This Woman Says As Long As She Stays Black, She’ll Never Forget What Jeff Sessions Did To Her Family
If you’ve been on the internet within the past month, you’ve likely stumbled across the name Jeff Sessions. If you’re like me and like to avoid words, things and people that have to do with Donald Trump, you might not know why he’s significant.
Well, Sessions is a Republican senator from Alabama who President-elect Donald Trump has picked as his candidate for Attorney General. Of all the people Trump has suggested putting into positions of power, it’s Sessions’ name that has caused the most outrage. Mostly because, in addition to his anti-immigration stance, he has a reputation for being racist. In fact, according to The Washington Post, in 1986, he was denied a federal judgeship because former colleagues testified that Sessions used the n-word and joked about the Klan, saying he thought they were “okay” until he learned that they smoked marijuana. That same year when he was attempting to become a judge Coretta Scott King wrote a 9-page-letter to Congress asking that he not be nominated because he used his office to suppress the Black vote in his state.

Taxtone Arrested For Alleged Involvement In Troy Ave Shooting
Podcaster Taxstone has been arrested on gun charges connected to the infamous Troy Ave shooting at Irving Plaza last May. He was arrested in Brooklyn on Monday (Jan. 16)
According to NBC News, Taxstone, born Daryl Campbell was picked up without incident on a federal warrant. The host of the Tax Season podcast was wanted for being a felon in possession of firearm while NYPD was looking for him due to his involvement in the shooting.
Shortly after the incident, which went down at a T.I. concert, many speculated it was Taxstone seen running away as Troy Ave licked off shots in his direction.
As for Troy Ave, he got shot, again, at the end of 2016 while sitting in his Maserati in Brooklyn—and dropped a pornographic music video, starring himself.
