Saffron Jackson created Zuree Dolls after trying to find a doll that resembled her daughter became too frustrating. Jackson, who is of Jamaican heritage, created a line of dolls that show millions of little girls that their image is beautiful.

The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for a big playoff game against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this Sunday. Much of the Cowboys’ season has been about their quarterback controversy after veteran Tony Romo was injured in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. Sports journalists and pundits debated whether or not rookie QB Dak Prescott could fill Romo’s cleats as not only the starting signal-caller, but as the leader of the team.
A piece in USAToday paints Dak as just that. A leader. But not just because of his talent on the field, but because of his race.
Dak (Dakota) is the product of an swirly relationship between a white woman and a black man. According to him, being biracial is part of why he’s been able to position himself as the HNIC of the Cowboys’ locker room:
“I grew up in Haughton, Louisiana,” Prescott tells USA TODAY Sports. “I go to my white grandparents’ house, and then I cross the railroad tracks and hang out with my black grandma. We have English teachers on my white side. My grandpa is a principal. And then you go to the other side and people have been in jail.
“I was put in all those different situations. I’ve been in situations where I was the only black guy. We’re in a time now where nobody wants to see that. But it still happens. Depending on where you come from, it happens. To be able to wipe that clean and see and live both sides, it’s just who I am. Being mixed allows me to connect with everyone.”
The story bolsters Dak’s point with this semi-superficial anecdote:
During a pre-practice stretch period, when Wiz Khalifa’s We Dem Boyz pulsed through the speakers, Prescott rapped every verse. Minutes later, when the guitar of George Strait’s All My Exes Live in Texas twanged through, Prescott swayed along and belted the chorus louder than anyone else on the field.
Basically, knowing rap lyrics and county music lyrics makes Prescott relatable to both his white and black teammates.
“Being bi-racial and being from the country, I can talk to guys like Travis Frederick from Wisconsin and Doug Free from Wisconsin,” Prescott says of two offensive linemen on the Cowboys.
“And then I can go over and talk to Dez Bryant. I mean, think about the two different standpoints you need to have a real conversation with both, to really understand what they’ve been through. I don’t think many can do it. For me, it’s not hard. I’m blessed because it’s natural.”
One of Dak’s unidentified white teammates seems to agree:
“Not to crap on Tony (Romo), because he has done so much for this team,” says one white Cowboys player who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the topic. “But no matter how hard he’ll try, there are just some things that he can’t do, some ways that he can’t connect with some of the guys in here like Dak can.”

The King of the South was a recent guest on Joc’s Streetz 94.5 radio show and made it clear to Joc and his co-host Mo Quick that questions about Tiny were off limits.

The family of an Atlanta woman struck during a Christmas day hit-and-run wants charges filed on her behalf.
Taylor Hamm, 24, was struck by a car on the holiday and remains hospitalized on life support.
Police so far have declined to file charges against the driver who struck her and then drove off.
Why? Because they believe the incident was “accidental.”

The family of a hospitalized 24-year-old wants the driver who hit their daughter to face charges.
Taylor Hamm was struck by a car Christmas morning while she was walking along Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in Gwinnett County, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Reports of a woman stumbling in a bathrobe led police to investigate whether Hamm had drugs or alcohol in her system, police said.
Now, she’s on life support and police told parents Jeff Hamm and Dana Poole the incident has been ruled accidental. The driver who left the scene won’t face charges.
The driver told police she saw something lunge at her car, but she didn’t realize she hit a person.
“It’s a life and a life that matters,” Poole told Channel 2. “If I were to leave the scene, I think I would have been arrested.”
Doctors have said there is nothing more they can do for Taylor and that her parents might want to take her off life support, Hamm told Channel 2.
Her family must be reeling, not only because she’s still hospitalized but because of the police’s lack of action.

The Falcons are responding to a nasty rumor that they’re going to troll Russell Wilson at their upcoming game.
Earlier this week rumors swirled that their official DJ, DJ Jay Envy, would be solely playing songs by Future Hendrix to get under Ciara’s husband’s skin when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Falcons at the GA Dome.
According to Evy himself, he’s definitely going to play Future…
“This is Atlanta. I play Future at every home game,” Envy told Complex. “That’s like not playing [Kanye] in Chicago. It just doesn’t happen. I’m not not going to play Future because of a certain team or player…I’m going to play it and, to be honest, no one has hit me up directly saying I can’t play the records I normally play.”
but he highly doubts it will affect Russell’s game.
“Let’s be real here, I highly doubt me playing Future is going to affect the way Russell plays,” he said. “He has probably seen and heard worse shit from players and other fans. He’s got bigger problems like Vic Beasley and Keanu Neal.”

Not only were we sitting front and center in front of the television for the president’s farewell speech last night, but we stayed in front of it in anticipation of the return of Being Mary Jane. Fans of the show had been waiting quite some time to find out what’s next for Mary Jane Paul and her family, more than a year to be specific. And if you’ll recall, quite a bit went down in Season 3, including the suicide of Lisa, the arrest of Cece (Loretta Devine) for blackmailing, and of course, Niecy being tasered by a police officer in the season finale after a traffic stop gone left. So how do we pick up in Season 4 without Mara Brock Akil and a new showrunner in Erica Shelton Kodish? Here’s what happened.

Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t have any hairs on her tongue and on Tuesday’s episode (Jan. 10) of The View she licked off a few shots aimed directly at Kanye West.
Bringing up how Kanye boasted about not voting in last November’s Presidential election, Whoopi said “I would like [Kim Kardashian] to say to him, ‘Listen, don’t ever think that saying you didn’t vote is a good idea.” The Ghost actress continued to berate Yeezy’s actions, stating “I don’t care who you would have voted for… because people died for your right to not vote, you idiot boy. You foolish boy! Idiot boy!”
While we get why Whoopi is angry, the man did say that he would’ve voted for Trump had he indeed voted. So it would’ve still been an L for the culture.
In Kanye’s defense, he was going through a mental breakdown though he did meet with the controversial president-elect during his road to recovery.
While we’re not sure if Kanye’s going to respond to Goldberg’s criticism of his actions, we do know that it’s not going to get as many headlines as Trump’s alleged love of water sports.
We’ve seen this movie before. It ended with the butt-hurt white chick realizing that she was being a beyotch and apologizing. Not sure how this sequel will end…
According to PageSix, SNL’s Michael Che had to fend off a ravenous anglo-saxon broad who tried to slander him and suck his soul. Luckily for Michael, he had an iMessage full of receipts to defend himself against the salty succubus.
Leah McSweeney is the owner and creative director of a streetwear clothing line called Married To The Mob. She’s pretty lonely so she decided to jump on a dating app called Raya, which is basically Tinder for cool kids and industry types.
Anyway, Leah and Michael took a brief interest in each other and began to text…well, she began to text him. A lot. But Mike didn’t really appear too interested in the convo and thus wasn’t very talkative.
As we mentioned earlier, we’ve seen this flick, and it starred Lena Dunham and Odell Beckham Jr. Part 2 is pretty much the same plot, but this villainous white girl seems to carry a lot more vitriol. She took to her Improper Etiquette podcast, co-hosted by Hot 97’s Laura Stylez, to BLAST Che for being a “rude a$$hole” who talked to her like a “stupid b!tc#”.
Che sent the screenshots of their convo to the PageSix and it’s very clear that Leah has a very distorted view of reality and is completely lacking in self-awareness.
