A racially charged and threatening video from a Cherokee County high school student has surfaced, upsetting parents and students.

“To think in 2016 that that kind of talk goes on in high school that my kid attends. It’s disgusting,” said concerned parent Jason Baker.

The video was recently recorded in the common area of Sequoyah High School outside the gymnasium.

It was brought to the attention of Channel 2 Action News by a concerned parent who did not wish to be identified. That parent said the recording circulated via a student group chat.

The teen in the video said, “I feel like n—— are a direct problem, because of ISIS. We should kill them, too.”

“I think we should definitely post that on the morning announcements,” the teen said.

The video goes on to say an African-American security officer at the school would get what she has coming to her.

The Cherokee County School District confirms administrators were notified about the video on Friday, and took immediate action against the students involved.

“At the end of the day, they’re kids, right? But something’s got to happen. Something’s got to happen. Serious discipline,” Baker said.

The student from that video reached out to Channel 2 Thursday night, saying his comments about “N-words” were made out of anger towards the suspects in his uncle’s recent murder. He told us they were not meant to threaten an entire group of people.

The student also said he was recorded without his consent, and the video was edited to take comments out of context.

Bride Turns Cancelled Wedding Plans Into Party For Kids In Need

This is really touching. A Manhattan woman named Yiru Sun turned her cancelled wedding plans into a luncheon for children and families in need this weekend, inviting 60 kids and their families to join her at the Harold Pratt House, where she’d already laid down a $8K reception deposit before calling off the marriage because she and her groom-to-be could not agree on a prenup.

“I should have been the bride. It was canceled,” Sun told her guests at the elegant Harold Pratt House at East 68th Street and Park Avenue. “Initially I felt frustrated,” said Sun, a vice president at New York Life Insurance, declining to dish about her former betrothed, not even to name him.

“I don’t want to sign things I don’t feel comfortable with,” is all she’ll reveal of the prenup dust-up.

“Three weeks later, I woke up with this idea,” Sun, herself a single mom of a 6-year-old daughter, told her guests, who were chosen with help from The Salvation Army and Inwood House.

“At that moment, I started to think it was God’s plan,” she said of turning her misfortune into a great party.

“I cannot be the princess of my wedding day, but I can give the kids a fairy tale.”

Now a successful insurance exec, Sun told her guests she grew up poor in China but studied hard in America, winning a full scholarship for a graduate degree at Princeton University.

Single moms, and their kids, can face difficulties in life and still do great things, she insisted.

The kids were treated to face-painting and balloons and were touched by Sun’s story, at least as far as they understood it.

“It’s special because this lady canceled a special day for her family and herself just for little kids to have fun,” said Kimberly Gil, 10, who attended with mom Amelia Victorio, 30.

“And she brought ice pops.”

Man… This ish brought tears to our eyes. And you gotta love the quote about the ice pops! Kids are so sweet and simple.

Curtis Snow Involved In Atlanta SWAT Standoff

Curtis Snow, the star of the 2011 indie film “Snow On Tha Bluff”, was recently arrested in Atlanta after a standoff with a SWAT team.
WSBTV reports:

An Atlanta man surrendered peacefully after a standoff with police at a church on the 500 block of Spencer Street during a funeral service.

Police say Curtis Ward, also known as Curtis Snow, barricaded himself inside the ladies room of a church on the 500 block of Spencer Street.

Snow starred a drama movie called Snow on tha Bluff.

Police were told Ward may be armed.

Police haven’t said if they found any weapons on Ward when they arrested him.

The funeral at Higher Ground Empowerment Church was for a 94-year-old man.

The church’s pastor said Ward’s grandson got into an argument with someone at the funeral and that’s when police were called.

Police don’t know if the grandson is actually armed in the church bathroom, but armed officers are in place around the building.

“It didn’t ruin it (the funeral). The young man that’s allegedly barred inside the church, that’s his granddad. Young people grieve differently. I don’t think he was here to hurt anyone,” pastor Dexter Johnson said.

Several streets around the church were temporarily closed while police were involved in a standoff.

Poor guy was just upset that his grandad passed, SMH…

Yesterday, Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett took to Instagram to strike a mighty social media blow against all the women flexing their bikini-ready bodies after birthing babies.

“In April, the neighbor, Amanda Marie Warfel, 25, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and harassment charges for incidents that took place in February and March, according to charging documents…

It was about the effect the situation was having on her family.

“She harassed my kids for two years,” Saylor said. “We let it go for two years. … I shouldn’t have let it go that long. I should have started calling the police a year ago.”

Warfel’s loudness would keep her two daughters up so late that one would have trouble getting to school on time the next morning. On two occasions, state police wrote notes to the school to excuse her lateness, their mom said.

Her 17-year-old daughter, who has cancer, needed to be quarantined after getting treatment. She stayed in the room for 10 days in January because “she had to be isolated up there,” Saylor said.

During that time, Warfel had sex “nonstop, making sure that my daughter heard,” she said.”*

Dear Bossip,

Me and my boyfriend are both in our 20s, and have been together for almost 3 years. We recently just had a child together (his fourth and my first).

We have been discussing marriage for almost 2 of the 3 years we’ve been together, but we haven’t actually did it yet. We are both college students and are working on our future. Being raised a Christian I have recently decided to strengthen my relationship with the Lord and want to stop having pre-marital sex. He doesn’t agree since we have already been having sex and he’s used to it.

We have compromised on giving up sex for 6 months to strengthen our relationship. He says that he wants to attend graduate school and be more stable before getting married, which is another year from now. But, I don’t see the need to wait since we have already been playing house. He also thinks I need to mature more before fully committing, which I don’t disagree with.

Our main problem is that he wants me to do things I feel a wife only does for her husband (like to follow his lead, and to be more submissive, including other things). Some of the other things I don’t mind doing, like cooking and cleaning, since I would be doing them if he wasn’t there anyhow.

I just don’t want to completely give myself to him without marriage and then we never get married and I’ve given all my youthful years to him along with husband perks for nothing. We have been working on our differences and we really want to work things out if for nothing else then for the sake of our child. But, I don’t want to wait forever. So, my question is should I give him a sample of what I can be as a wife and then just wait until he’s ready to get married? He said that he wouldn’t mind setting a date and getting rings, but I’m just not sure if we are moving in that direction. – Playing House

Dear Ms. Playing House,

This is a huge problem, and unfortunately you’ve already committed yourself to playing house and acting like a married couple, yet, now you want to do it officially. This is really ass backwards.

But, my first concern is having a child with a man who already has three children. Though, you didn’t state if the other three children were with one woman or multiple women, I am still concerned that you had a child with a man in his 20s, and he’s producing multiple children with different women. That is a problem. Is he paying child support for his other children? Is he actively involved in their lives? How is his relationship with his children’s mother/s? What arrangements does he have in regards to custody of his children? Are you involved in their lives as well? Marrying him means you inherit his children and you become a blended family. His children have a brother/sister, and do they know one another, and how are you going to move forward in building a relationship with multiple children? You didn’t discuss this as a concern in your letter, but that is something very serious to think about.

I am not sure if you and he are ready for marriage. You are clearly putting the cart before the horse, especially by living together, playing house, and he wants you to cook, clean, and you follow him and he is the lead, including being submissive to him. Huh? So, he wants you to start acting like a wife and then he will marry you. But, how is he going to gauge this assessment of your behavior and what is the barometer of measurement in knowing if you’re doing things right or wrong? Who is keeping tabs? How long will this go on before he decides it is “okay,” or he approves of the changes and will move forward with marriage?

And, I don’t understand that you and this man have been dating for 3 years, have produced a child, and now that you have a renewed sense of your Christian faith you want to stop engaging in pre-marital sex because of what? Sweetie, all you’re doing is withholding sex from him. That’s what you’re really doing. You’ve had a change of heart and mind regarding your situation and relationship, and you’re re-evaluating where it’s going. You’re having second thoughts, and doubting if it really is going to turn into a marriage, and you don’t want to invest all this time and energy into something and you don’t want to feel as if you won’t get anything for your investment. Technically, all you want to do is to stop what you’ve already started. Well, ma’am, all of this should have been done in the beginning when you first started dating. You shouldn’t have been engaging in pre-marital sex, and living together, and giving him the cow and the milk before having a child, and not sure where the relationship was going. Now, you’re trying to reverse what you should have already begun three years ago. Sorry, but, he’s won. He’s giving you ultimatums to your ultimatum.

In order for him to change and consider marriage he wants you to change and make some adjustments and then he will consider marriage. He wants you to start acting more like a wife because in effect you’re withholding sex in order to get what you want. And, for him to get what he wants, he told you that you are not ready, and not mature enough, and you have to wait another year because he wants to attend graduate school and become more stable in his life. Hmmm, was he all of these things before he decided to help procreate four children? He’s laying with women and having unprotected sex, and producing children, then, is he financially capable and able to be taking care of his four children? Is he actively involved with all his children, or just your child? He’s talking about maturity, but his immaturity in creating children and I am assuming he’s not taking care of all them shows that he isn’t father of the year. How mature can he be that in his 20s he already has four children, and we can deduce that he has at least two baby mommas. And, if you’re living together, and you’re both in school, then is he working? Did he move in with you? Is his name on the lease? What bills is he paying in the home? Do you split the rent, or are you covering the rent? He wants you to cook and clean, but how is he contributing to the household? And, what if things don’t work out between you and him, and he dates another woman, and they produce children before marriage? Ma’am, my point is that he’s not mature either.

You and he have not discussed pre-marital counseling. Yes, before you get married you should seek counsel from your pastor, or a counselor. And, since you’ve had a change of heart and want to reconnect with your Christian values, then, is he attending church with you? Is he making changes and recommitting himself to his Christian values, or he never had any? What good is it if you’re recommitting yourself, and he is not? If you’re going to start fresh and anew with your Christian faith, and he is not, yet, he wants you to submit yourself to him, and follow his lead, then who and what is he following? And, why would you follow him? You’ll be a fool to follow a man with no spiritual or religious guidance. He’s already led you astray and have you playing house, telling you that he is not going to marry you until at least he has a graduate degree and is stable in his life, and he doesn’t see why you’re withholding sex because you’ve already been spreading it wide for him so why stop now. He can’t keep his d**k in his pants and already has four children, but he wants you to follow him and be submissive to him. Uhm, no!

If you’re going to really recommit yourself to your renewed faith and make these adjustments before marriage, then consult a spiritual advisor, or your pastor. Seek pre-marital counsel and see if you and he are on the same page, and if this is someone you really want to commit yourself to. You’re making all these changes to your life to prove that you are marriage and wife material, but what changes is he making in his life to prove he is marriage and husband material? – Terrance Dean

Anyway one thing we wanted to do was find a Black Donald Trump supporter with common sense. That is to say that there are so many Trump Black Trump supporters who look like Uncle Toms or buffoons. But what about the smart, sensible Black people who want to vote for Trump? Well we were able to find one man and had a pretty good conversation with him and his beliefs. Yes, we disagree with him but it was a healthy debate.

Terricka Cromartie Gives Birth To Twins And Addresses Critics

Congratulations to the Cromarties! The couple just welcomed newborn twins this morning according to US Weekly reports:

NFL player Antonio Cromartie and wife Terricka Cromartie welcomed their twin babies into the world in the very early hours of Monday, May 9, the happy couple confirm exclusively to Us Weekly.

The couple, who married in November 2008, already have two children, daughter Jurzie, 5, and son Jagger, 3. They revealed in February that they were expecting a son and a daughter this time around. Antonio also has eight other children from previous relationships.

But despite their latest additions being a huge surprise, both Antonio, 27, and his wife consider their babies a huge blessing, and have some straight talking words for anybody who wants to criticize.

“It took me a while to process it,” Terricka, 28, admitted of her most recent pregnancy, “but Antonio stood firm and was saying, ‘It’s God’s will.’ And he’s been excited the whole time.”

“To be honest, I’ve gone back and forth about if I wanted to share the news or not,” she explained to Us. “All my children are blessings and all of Antonio’s children are blessings, for that matter. It was made to seem that my children weren’t a blessing because they were categorized by a number, and for that reason and that reason alone, I hid both of my [first two] pregnancies with my husband, just so I could enjoy them with those who were really happy for me.”

But while the happy mom-of-four is delighted with her newest arrivals, she’s taking steps to make sure these babies are her last – she’s getting her tubes tied!

Props to Terricka for doing that hard work of carrying twins and going through labor while also putting up with so much criticism.

That’s right. Ja thinks Michael Jordan gets paid a whole dollar every time someone posts a Jordan Cry Face. On top of that, he used a fake site to get the info. Naturally people got all up in his mentions and his him with his own cry faces.

Amazon Discriminates Against Black Customers For Same Day Deliveries

Does Amazon discriminate against customers of color when it comes to same-day deliveries in the U.S. according to Bloomberg reports:

Amazon.com Inc. plans to eliminate gaps in its free same-day delivery service in all 27 cities where it is offered, responding to complaints that some minority neighborhoods are excluded.

Amazon made the pledge in a statement obtained by the Congressional Black Caucus. The organization, which represents black members of Congress, had alerted Amazon it was monitoring the situation and supported calls for an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission into the service boundaries.

“Very shortly, we will be expanding Prime Same Day Service to every zip code of the 27 cities where Prime Same Day delivery is currently launched,” Amazon said in the statement obtained by the caucus and shared with Bloomberg News. “We will further not launch the service in any new regions, until we are able to secure a carrier for every zip code. We are still figuring out the details and procuring last mile delivery for each of these zips, but we should have 100 percent coverage shortly.”

U.S. Representative George Kenneth Butterfield, a Democrat from North Carolina and chairman of the black caucus, said the group “is anticipating the results of Amazon’s plan to expand its delivery services to previously excluded zip codes.”

Congressman Bobby Rush of Illinois called for an FTC investigation and spoke about the issue on the floor of the House of Representatives. Afterward, Amazon pledged in a letter to Rush to serve Chicago’s South Side in coming weeks.

Butterfield commended Rush “for calling on Amazon to take swift action.”

First Black Female Police Captain Sues City For Racial Discrimination

After three months after her history setting promotion, New Haven’s Police Department’s first black female police captain is suing the city alleging racial and gender discrimination dating to 2012 according to New Haven Register:

Police Capt. Patricia Helliger filed the civil complaint at Superior Court in New Haven last week after the complaint was released by the state Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities on Feb. 29 — 10 days after her ceremonial induction at City Hall.

While neither the city nor the department would comment on the suit, city data shows the department’s personnel is more than 50 percent minorities and women. The department also has done recruitment drives within the city – even going door-to-door – in an effort to draw residents into the ranks.

Yet, Helliger claims discrimination delayed her promotion to captain. Helliger has worked with the department for more than 20 years and is responsible for helping develop a program that’s helped shrink the department’s arrest warrant backlog.

Helliger is represented by East Haven attorney Patricia A. Cofrancesco. The city of New Haven is listed as the first defendant, with Police Chief Dean Esserman listed as an additional defendant. Cofrancesco said Esserman was added because some alleged acts in the civil complaint involved him.

Cofrancesco alleged the discrimination against Helliger did not end with her promotion to captain.

“I think it’s kind of ironic that the city celebrates its first African-American female police captain, but at the same time, she gets treated so badly, even after she was promoted,” Cofrancesco said.
