J.R. Smith Hosts Charity Casino Night Gala To Benefit His Youth Foundation

Cleveland Cavaliers baller J.R. Smith hosted the first ever Charity Casino Night Gala on Friday, March 25th for his nonprofit, the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation.

Organized by New Generation Management, the swanky black-tie affair was held at Stage 48 in New York City and raised a whopping $45K for the Foundation. 100% of proceeds from the evening will go towards fulfilling the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation’s mission in supporting young people through the arts, education, sports and other beneficial activities such as scholarships, grants, and programs designed to help further their goals. The event was powered by clean fashion technology brand Crep Protect, as guests arrived dressed to impress for an evening of philanthropy and positivity.

The event was emceed by renowned TV and radio sportscaster, Tina Cervasio. The night included unlimited light bites, an open bar with guests sipping on specialty cocktails curated by Hennessy, and a VIP gifting suite and custom photo booth courtesy of mattress company, Casper.

Minneapolis Police Officers Will Not Be Charged In Shooting Death Of Jamar Clark

We all probably saw this coming, but it doesn’t exactly make us feel good to be right.

The HuffingtonPost is reporting that a decision has been made in regards to the police shooting case of Jamar Clark…

Two Minneapolis police officers involved in the shooting death of a 24-year-old black man will not be charged, prosecutors said on Wednesday, because evidence showed Jamar Clark was not handcuffed and that he reached for an officer’s gun.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman told a news conference that Clark struggled with Officers Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze and at one point had his hand on a gun.

Freeman said the officers said that without the use of deadly force Clark would have taken possession of the gun.

“Each stated their independent fear of being shot,” Freeman said. “Accordingly, the head of the county attorney’s office has concluded criminal charges are not warranted.”

Guess eye-witness testimony that Jamar was handcuffed when he was shot doesn’t mean s#!t. SMH.

Peter Thomas Speaks On Porsha Williams, Marriage To Cynthia Bailey

Remember when we told you that Porsha Williams once again accused Peter Thomas of cheating on Cynthia Bailey with groupies at Bar One???

Well Peter’s still steaming mad at Porsha for claiming on the RHOA reunion to know one of his alleged mistresses and he told Power 98 Charlotte that Porsha’s just a “Thot” who “chases the cat” with money.

“I don’t think Porsha knows anything because there’s nothing to know. I think Porsha and Pheadra play this game called projection, so if they wanna say something about you they say it 100 times and hope it sticks. […] She does not have the resume that Cynthia Bailey has. This is one of those girls that was bred to go and get the cat with money. No education whatsoever, she just looks pretty and go get the cat who has the money and shows her a**.” That word you used earlier, a T-H-O-T, that’s her”

He also brought up her ex Kordell Stewart who he believes is the reason behind Porsha’s grudge against him.

“I think it had to with what happened three years ago between her and Kordell. Kordell and I gravitate towards each other because we’re both Libra men.”

He also confirmed what Cynthia Bailey’s been saying; that their marriage’s in trouble.

“My marriage is definitely in a place where I don’t need it to be. We’re working 18 hours a day, so we never really get to spend time together and after 6 seasons on the show, we’re just not there with each other. Everyone tells me, ‘Oh, you’re going through the 5-year thing’. My wife might be going through the five year thing, but like I’ve always said. When I went before God and said ‘I do’, I meant it.”

On quitting RHOA:

Bravo has this housewives franchise and it’s major, it’s a billion dollar brand. We happen to have the biggest show on the whole network, the next thing for them if they think me and Cynthia are apart right now is to dig. I have kids […], I don’t want them to see the deterioration of our wedding, our union, I have no interest in filming that.”

Harvey with the United Kingdom’s University of Kent, suggests that women who feel their partners are imposing “perfectionist standards” on them may suffer from sexual dysfunction. The goal of the study, which was published in the journal, Archive of Sexual Behavior, was to examine how four different types of sexual perfectionism—self-oriented, partner-oriented, partner-prescribed and socially prescribed—affect women over a period of time. 366 women participated in two surveys, which they believed explored how “personal and interpersonal expectations and beliefs affect one’s sexuality and sexual function.” Not only did researchers find that partner-prescribed sexual perfectionism contributed to female sexual dysfunction, but it also revealed that feeling pressure from a partner to be perfect contributed to negative self-image, a decline in sexual esteem and an increase in sexual anxiety…

Charlamagne Talks About Season 2 Of “Uncommon Sense”

We’re just days away from the premiere of Season 2 of “Uncommon Sense” the social media driven MTV 2 show helmed by radio impresario Charlamagne Tha God — a man who has struck fear into many celebrities, including Kanye West, for calling them out on their shenanigans with his “Donkey of the Day” segment on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” radio show. This Friday, April 1, “Uncommon Sense” returns to its 11pm slot and in anticipation of the show we chopped it up with CThaGod about to expect and some of the pesky rumors out there about him!

Along with Charlamagne, co-hosts Andrew Schulz and Crissle are also making their return to “Uncommon Sense” along with Desus and Mero who have their own segment.

“He gets on my nerves sometimes,” CThaGod says of Schulz, who also co-hosts his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast,”but he has a POV that’s valuable, simply because a lot of times we talk about what white people are feeling or what white people are thinking and Andrew is so unapologetically white he doesn’t mind talking about those things freely amongst anybody. We talk about white people and he’s not afraid to open up about that so I like that we get that perspective. And Crissle, I call her Harriet Tubman. She’s just the unapologetically Black woman. I love her for that.”

While he’s made his bread and butter getting under celebs skin, Charlamagne revealed he’s actually more excited by the conversations he’s having with social media personalities like Taxstone, Crissle and Andrew.

“I’m not big on the whole “celebrities” thing cause you know celebrities are always trying to be so politically correct. They dont talk how we talk, they got relationships to maintain. Its not real.”

If it seems like Charlamagne is everywhere you look nowadays, on the radio, Twitter, Instagram and television, prepare to see even more of him in coming months.

“I’ve always wanted to be a multimedia personality. I’m executive producing “Uncommon Sense” and alot of other shows people will see. I have a book coming out with Simon & Schuster which will be out next year. I want to create content but also create opportunities for other people. Getting opportunities to teach and help other people that’s what I wanna do.”

Charlamagne says the book isn’t exactly a memoir, but it will contain elements from his life.

“I like to call it like a cheat code for life. It may work for it may not, I dont have all the answers. It’s just me sharing my experiences and what I’ve learned.”

Similarly, Charlamagne says the stories he’s most drawn to in his work are those we can learn from.

“I remember when the Jay-Z and Ray Rice situations were going on. We saw two situations, both happened in an elevator, both of those situations you can learn from, men and women. Jay-Z showed how you should handle it, Ray Rice showed how you shouldn’t handle it. Even on the flip side ‘Women, don’t put your hands on men cause some are gonna react like Jay-Z some are gonna react like Ray Rice. You can react like Ray Rice but there are gonna be consequences to acting like Ray Rice. You can learn so much and teach so much in both of those.”

Speaking of learning experiences, CThaGod spoke candidly about his initial come up under the tutelage of Wendy Williams, a time that he reveals she’s no longer open to talking about.

“I haven’t talked to Wendy since early 2010 and every time someone asks her about me in interviews they always tell the person to edit it. It’s all good. I got nothing but love for them. It’s all love.”

All love, but clearly there has been some strain.

“Me and her husband Kev sat down and had a conversation at the end of 2014 after she went on Elvis Durant’s show and Elvis asked her about me and she was like “Who?” We chopped it up then. It wasn’t the best conversation, but at least we had the conversation. I appreciate them still, if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am now, so God Bless em.”

As his profile has grown, Charlamagne has become the subject of several meme’s floating around the internet.

“They’re hilarious,” CThaGod said of the social media images. “There was one that had an old picture of me and it said Limo tint then a new pic and it said Factory tint. Everybody swears I’m bleaching my skin but I even posted that. If its funny I’ma post it. I’m not one of those people who can give it but can’t take it. There’s no way in hell I’m gonna be out here saying what I wanna say about somebody else and get mad when they say something about me. Somebody could be on Twitter right now saying “Charlamagne Tha God is a f***boy!” and I might hit them back and say ‘Eff you d***head!” I like that kinda isht. I been like that my whole life. Social media doesn’t scare me at all. If something happens and you get caught out there that’s just the culture.”

And as for the rumors that his skin got lighter from bleaching — he’s calling BS!

“I’m not bleaching. I got a dermatologist named Dr. Natasha Sandy who is amazing,” Charlamagne explained. “She changed my whole lifestyle. She does everything. She put me on a diet. I’ve lost 21 pounds. I had mad skin discoloration, that’s what I used to always get clowned for, but nobody remembers that now. Now everyone is like ‘He bleaching’ but nobody remembers the discoloration and back when Marlon Wayans actually said to me “You look like a bruised eggplant. You’re 50 shades of black.” It’s honestly something I changed through diet, chemical peels. I’ve never felt better.”

Regardless of his color, Charlamagne has thick skin, but he does draw the line at lies.

“If you’re funny, be funny but telling a bold faced lie its just wack and desperate. If you see somebody who can make a good joke or a funny meme it shows intelligence, wit and security in their ability to make that joke, but people who have to lie are just wack. It makes me feel bad for them. Most recently when I heard they were saying I wanted to leave “The Breakfast Club” I know where it comes from because the week it came out we got our ratings back. Breakfast Club is doing really well — the frustration coming from other personalities — I understood it. But when I see that I’m like ‘We got you. We’re somewhere else in your mind that you can’t ever come back from. When you care that much about your adversaries you can’t ever defeat them.’

“Uncommon Sense” airs at 11pm EST on April 1st on MTV2. Charlamagne also wants y’all to know he’s signed to IHeartRadio for the next five years until 2021.

Whoopi Goldberg Launches A Medical Marijuana Company Designed For Women’s Needs

According to the USAToday, The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg has taken on a side gig as a medical dope dealer….

Whoopi Goldberg is lending her name and financial backing to a new line of medical marijuana products designed specifically for women.

Goldberg, who has been public about her own marijuana use, is one of a handful of Hollywood celebrities jumping into the marijuana marketplace. Bob Marley’s family has partnered with a cannabis company to produce Marley Natural products, and Snoop Dogg backs Leafs by Snoop. Goldberg said her “Whoopi & Maya” company received financial backing from three friends and family members, and she will serve as chairwoman.

“I want to go nice and slow with this. I don’t want this to be a joke to people. It’s not a joke to women,” Goldberg told USA TODAY.

The company she’s co-founded offers four products: a balm, a tincture, sipping chocolate, and a bath soak. All are infused with marijuana and aim to reduce the pain and cramps from periods. Pricing has not yet been set.

The products sold under the “Whoopi & Maya brand” will be available only in California to people with their medical marijuana cards, and they’ll be on shelves in the next several weeks in at least five marijuana dispensaries around the state.

In 2009 Chris Brown slammed Rihanna’s head into a car door, causing a one-inch contusion. Then he punched her in the right eye. He continued to punch her in the right face while driving his car. He yelled at her that he was going to beat the sh*t out of her when they got home. Then he said he’d kill her while continuing to punch her. Then he bit Rihanna on her left ear. When Rihanna was able to hide the keys to the car, Chris Brown continued punching her in the head and mouth. Then he put her in a headlock, blocking the oxygen to her brain, causing her to lose consciousness. Rihanna suffered contusions and was bleeding from the mouth.

I’ve been told that I’m supposed to forgive Chris Brown for something that happened six years ago. That is, however, the Christian thing to do. But I watched Chris Brown get pass after pass, while acting like a spoiled brat. As if the assault on Rihanna was something that happened to him. I watched him complain about “haters” and record labels not pushing his albums. I watched him cry on BET and pop lock his way into forgiveness without any repercussions. He’d dress up like Bin Laden. He’d threaten more women. He’d verbally abuse women. It just wouldn’t stop.

I do believe that people can change and redemption is possible. But Chris Brown has shown zero growth or propensity to become a better person since 2009. I even spent some time finding it in my heart to forgive Brown after he went to jail. I’d hoped that rehabilitation was part of the process and I was happy to see that he was finally owning up to some of the horrible things he’d done. And for a little while, Chris Brown seemed like a changed man. I was actually rooting for him.

But that didn’t last.

Chris Brown may not be punching women and sending them to the hospital anymore but he’s still an abuser. He’s a bully and someone who attacks women on the regular. This week was just a continuation of these actions. Brown, for reasons not totally clear to most of us, attacked Kehlani – the singer who allegedly attempted suicide after her relationship issues went viral.

He’s slighting a woman’s physical and emotional pain because that’s what abusers do. Since leaving jail, he’s publicly blasted his ex Karrueche, sending his army of mindless fans to bully her on Twitter, too. He’s continued to treat Rihanna like property, firing shots at a number of men she is seen out in public with. Chris Brown abuses women. This is a fact. He’s not shown any ability to mature since beating up Rihanna.

I don’t say these things to condemn the singer. I say these things because Chris Brown has a daughter, and the sooner he’s able to reconcile with the fact he is abusive to women, the easier it will be for him to find a way to get better. To stop doing the despicable things he continues to do. And ultimately to become the best man he can be for his daughter. I honestly have no clue how Brown and his daughter interact in private and I have no qualifications to speak on him as a parent. That’s not my intention. He might treat her great. He might be a nurturing, loving providing dad. But there’s misogyny and abuse in his actions that a child just simply can’t be exposed to.

The problem with Chris Brown is that he’s constantly vetted by an army of fans who will ride for him no matter what. They will ask what Rihanna did to deserve getting hit. They’ll hop into Karrueche’s comments and mentions whenever their crooning messiah directs them there. Whenever there’s a chance for women of color to be abused, there will always be a posse of idiots who will add to the assault. These foot soldiers have only continued to embolden Chris Brown to feel like he can continue to be abusive without fault.

Bobbi Kristina’s Estate Administrator Sued Pat And Cissy Houston For Refusing To Pay Estate Legal Bills

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s aunt and grandmother have fired back in a lawsuit accusing them of shirking paying the bills on the estate of their late relative.

Marion “Pat” Houston and Emily “Cissy” Houston denied that they’ve held up paying Bobbi Kristina’s estate expenses, and said they’re not paying for the estate’s wrongful death lawsuit against bad boy Nick Gordon because they believe it’s a waste of money, and it’s Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, who has the authority to file the wrongful death suit, not the estate administrator, Bedelia Hargrove. The family said in court papers that they never gave the OK for Hargrove to file the suit in the first place.

“It is not in the estate’s best interest to pursue the wrongful death claim against Gordon, because the costs of litigation will be prohibitive, the likelihood of obtaining and collecting on a judgment is extremely doubtful, and such an action by Mrs. Hargrove, the administrator, will only serve to deplete the estate,” the Houston’s wrote in their answer to the suit this month in Fulton County, Ga. Superior Court.
