The judicial system doesn’t understand the meaning of Black Lives Matter according to a new article from The New York Times.
In 2010, the Equal Justice Initiative, a nonprofit law firm, studied eight Southern states — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee — and found the problem to be rampant.
For example, from 2005 to 2009, prosecutors in Houston County, Ala., struck 80 percent of qualified black jurors from death penalty cases. Consequently, in a county that’s 27 percent black, half of death penalty juries were all-white. The other half had one black citizen each.
Another study of death penalty trials in North Carolina shows that from 1990 to 2010, prosecutors excluded black jurors over twice as often as nonblack jurors.
An analysis of over 300 felony jury trials in Caddo Parish, La., from 2003 to 2012 found that of 8,318 qualified jurors, nearly half of black jurors were struck, compared with only 15 percent of nonblack jurors.
In at least six different ways, the prosecutors singled out eligible black jurors: Notes from the jury selection list show they marked their names with a “B” and highlighted them in green on four separate copies; circled the word “black” on their juror questionnaires; noted several as “B #1,” “B #2”; ranked potential black jurors against one another “in case it comes down to having to pick one of the black jurors”; and wrote “Definite NOs” on the list of priority strikes, which had all four possible black jurors.
Prosecutors have been known for excluding Blacks from their jury pool to gain a desirable decision…
When the prosecutors asked a white juror and a black juror whether the defendant’s age, which was close to that of their children, would be a factor in the sentence, the black juror said “none whatsoever” but was struck based on his son’s age. The white juror answered “probably so” and was accepted.
Along with other former prosecutors, I joined a friend-of-the-court brief in support of Mr. Foster. We recognize, and refuse to condone, the blatant unconstitutionality of the prosecutorial misconduct in this case. Moreover, my own experience suggests that discrimination in jury selection is indeed a national problem, despite over a century of attempted legislative and judicial remedies.

Kyle Lydell Canty has had enough. The 30-year-old New York City resident has fled to Canada in fear of his life as he claims the NYPD is consistently harassing him (and other folks) just because he is a black man.

“They’re consistently killing black people, it’s documented, the United Nations has condemned America for their racial disparities for their police brutality,” Kyle Lydell Canty, 30, told CBC late last month.
“And honestly, I kept on getting harassed by cops for no reason, false charges, false arrests — I’m not just the only one going through it. All black people in America are going through the same thing. It’s corruption.”
Invoking the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, he said blacks are “being exterminated at an alarming rate” in his native land.
During an Oct. 23 hearing with country’s Immigration and Refugee Board, Canty professed: “I’m in fear of my life because I’m black. This is a well-founded fear.”
It’s not just New York though, Canty says he’s lived in 6 states and has an extensive criminal record via arrest warrants including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, issuing threats all which he says are based on racial bias.

Local authorities are urging parents to carefully check their children’s Halloween candy after what appear to be sewing needles and pins were found in a half-dozen chocolate bars given out to trick-or-treating children in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Police in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania said they were notified about midnight Sunday that Halloween candy handed out in the borough’s Stenning Hills section had been tampered with. Needles were discovered inside five wrapped Twix bars handed out to four different children in the area, police said.
Sunday afternoon, a 12-year-old turned in a sixth candy bar — a Snickers — with a needle in it, police said.
Police believe the tampered-with candy was given out in the area of South Union Street and West South Street. They said the original parent who reported finding the needles checked his kids’ candy after seeing a Facebook post about someone else finding needles in Snickers candy. It’s not clear if that post was about the Snickers the 12-year-old turned in Sunday afternoon.
The Kennett Square Police Department first alerted the community via its Facebook page on Sunday morning to the candy that had apparently been tampered with, saying that a “needle-type item was found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children the evening of Oct. 31, 2015 in the Stenning Hills area of the borough.”

Edward Caban is the driver who was was attacked. He said he installed the camera in his car because drunk Uber passengers are the worst. That pepper spray looked like it hurt way more than those little slaps and hair pulling did. The drunk attacker has since been arrested.

As previously reported he and his on-again off-again boo Milan Christopher broke up and he was accused by Milan of using him for a storyline.
Now according to TMZ, things have reached a fever pitch between them and a fight went down Halloween night.
“Love and Hip Hop” star Miles Brock was arrested Halloween night after allegedly attacking ex-BF Milan Christopher who’s also on the show.
Law enforcement tells us Milan went to NYPD cops Friday night, claiming he and Miles ended up at the same party, they started arguing and Miles slugged him in the face.
Milan filed a police report and the next night Milan tracked Miles down in Times Square, found a cop and pointed Miles out. The cop cuffed Miles and placed him under arrest for assault.
The 2 men are extremely bitter over their breakup.
SMH…just before news broke about their alleged altercation, Milan claimed that Miles cheated on him during the entirety of their relationship.

A violent and bloody fight over chicken has left one man dead, and another man charged with his murder according to ABC 7 News:
At about 11:30pm Friday, police say five men were fixing dinner and drinking in an apartment in the 1400 block of Lakeside Estates. Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera, 38, reportedly became angry when Darwin Perez Gonzalez, 34, took the last piece of chicken. Police say the argument escalated into a fist fight in the parking lot, where Rivera allegedly stabbed Gonzalez and took off with a knife. Gonzalez died at the scene.
Rivera later returned to the scene and admitted to officers he stabbed Gonzalez. He was taken into custody and charged with murder. Officers say they recovered a kitchen knife in Rivera’s possession.
