Khloe Kardashian Hires Security Detail After Run-In With Lamar Odom

'Member a few weeks ago when stalker azz Lamar Odom ran up on Khloe Kardashian outside her 6am cycle class?

Yeah well, that ain’t gonna happen any more.

The big wigs at E! are footing the bill for some hard-hittin’ cats to watch over Khloe’s newly-inflated cakes and protect them from Lamar or anyone else who might wanna burst her bubble butt.

According to a source close to KUWTK production who spoke to RadarOnline:

“Nobody was going to take any chances with Khloe’s safety, so the decision was made to hire bodyguards.”

“Of course, the whole drama is going to be a storyline for the upcoming season,” the source said. “Khloe didn’t want to pay for a bodyguard out of her own pocket when she wasn’t filming, but she hasn’t been alone since the incident with Lamar.”

“Khloe feels very secure at her mansion because she lives in a gated community, and her mansion is also behind gates,” the source explained. “She has cameras all over the property as well. Her brother Rob and boyfriend James Harden are constantly around.”

Let’s just keep it a bean for one second. Rob Kardashian looks like he just finished eating Rebel Wilson, not to mention the fact that he was practically Lamar Odom’s left testicle back when he and Khloe were married. He’s not gonna do a damn thing.

Now James Harden is another story entirely. We’d love to get news that “The Beard” caught fade with “The Baldie” in an epic battle over Khloe’s heart.

Phaedra Parks Refuses To Let Apollo’s Sons Visit Him In Prison

Phaedra Parks is standing firm by her decision to keep her young boys away from their father as he continues to serve a prison sentence in Kentucky.
Why?

Because because it’s not in Ayden and Dylan’s best interest to visit Apollo Nida right now.

Radar Online reports:

Nearly one year has passed since Apollo Nida began his eight-year prison sentence for fraud. But despite the fact that his RHOA star wifePhaedra Parks has yet to file for divorce, RadarOnline.com has learned that Parks still hasn’t visited her husband behind bars — and she hasn’t brought their kids to see him either!

According to an insider, Parks, and the couple’s sons Ayden, 5, and Dylan, 2, have not made the trip to Kentucky, where he is being held in Federal prison.

In April, Parks defended her decision not to take her sons to see their father.

“The one thing I will say is that every single decision I make is based on one thing: the well-being of my two boys,” she said. “It’s easy for people to ask why she did that or why she isn’t doing this, but the simple truth is unless you are in that situation yourself, you really can’t make that judgment.”

At the time, Nida — whose plight with the law played out on Season 7 of the Bravo show — openly begged his wife to bring them and insisted that he needed “that support” from his family.

But Parks stood by what she believed to be in her children’s best interest.

“I do my best to make smart decisions after carefully considering all options and consulting with experts and others who advise me,” she said. “I know in my heart that everything I do is based on what is best for my children

In addition to being kept away from his boys, Apollo is apparently struggling to get money on his books (Where is Kenya Moore?) and recently begged a fan for some cash.

Dear Bossip,

I have been married to my husband for a little more than 5 years. We have been together a total of 9 years.

We live in an apartment. I pay for the rent, light, gas, cable, phone, internet, pet food, pet health/vet, etc. All he is paying for is food, laundry, and whenever we go out. He also is on my health insurance which is paid out of my bi-weekly pay check.

We both are currently working two jobs (He works seasonally on one job). I never thought I would still be working a second job after I got married. We are two ships passing through the night when it comes to our jobs. He works 6 days a week on one job. And, on the seasonal job, he works 5 days a week. I work 5 days a week on one job and 2 days a week, Sat./Sun. – evenings, on the other job.

I always told him when we were dating that I didn’t want us not spending time with each other.  We only really have part of Saturday evening and part of Sunday to be with each other. I try and wait up for him to come home from work every night during the week days.

He has a debt from when he attended college. He’s been fighting with it for many years now. I made the mistake of telling him that I will take on all the bills to allow him to pay off the debt.  The interest on the debt is totally insane and it’s added interest seems to grow every day/month.  I felt that it was harming us both. By the way, recently, he got dental implants.

Fast forward, two plus years, and nothing has changed and the debt is still there. He is an avid gym rat and runner. He enters races, and buys expensive running sneakers. He purchases t-shirts, etc., and has the nerve to hide them from me. I have sat down and spoken to him multiple times about how unfair it is to me. All I get is that little boy look that knows they have done something wrong. He listens to what I have to say, but, no action comes behind it. He says he’s embarrassed and he knows it. But, that’s all I get.

My mother went there and told me that, “He is a kept man.” I have spoken to a couple of friends about this matter. I have thought about going to counseling which he feels we don’t need. I don’t know what other steps to get his attention aside from threatening separation, leaving the apartment, etc. What does it take to get it through to him that this is a 50/50 partnership and not a gravy train? Bossip, would like to have your input. – The Frustrated Over-Contributing Wife

Dear Ms. The Frustrated Over-Contributing Wife,

Yes, your mother is absolutely correct. Your husband is a kept man. He is working to take care of his needs, his hobbies, and his interests. You are taking care of all the necessities, including the household and him. So, it will explain why he doesn’t want to go to counseling. Why go and get help when he knows the outcome will be the therapist or counselor telling him that he needs to contribute to the household and take the burden off you.

Your husband knows that he is making out like a bandit. You are paying for everything. That is why he sneaks and buys his sneakers, t-shirts, and other luxury items and hides them from you. He knows he is wrong and that he should be helping with the household expenses. So, when you confront him and he gives his sad little boy look, it is his strategy that works on you. He knows you will bish, get angry and talk a whole lot of “what he should be doing,” and “how unfair it is.” But, he knows that all he has to do is apologize, tell you that he’s sorry, and nothing will change.

You make all these idle threats, and complain and bish to him. But, you don’t have any repercussions for his actions, or you don’t follow through with your threats. So, now it’s time to show and prove. It is time to follow through with your threats and actions. He doesn’t contribute, then turn off his phone. I’m sure he is on your cell phone plan. Cut it off. He’ll come to you and say something, but tell him it’s time he starts paying his own bill.

Then, turn off the cable. You can watch movies and other shows on Netflix or online. He will again come to you complaining that the cable is off and he can’t watch his favorite shows. Tell him that if he wants to watch ESPN, or any sports shows, movies, or anything else, then he can pay the cable bill.

Next, change the passcode on the internet. He will try to be slick and go online and watch movies like you. But, if he doesn’t have the passcode to access the internet, then he will be sitting there looking at a blank computer. Again, he will ask what happened to the internet, and you tell him that until he contributes and help pay for it, then he is blocked. You will need payment upfront in order for him to access it.

Then, you take him off your health insurance. Sorry, but, he is an added expense and is not paying you to be on your health care. He has a full-time job. Do they not offer health care insurance? And, why are you not on his plan? Therefore, cut him off your plan and let him know that he has a full-time job and can get insurance through his job. Hell, he went and got dental implants. That is cosmetic surgery. He can afford that, then he can afford his own health insurance.

Finally, you let him know that you are not paying the full rent any longer. Beginning next month, he will need to pay half the rent, light, and gas. It is a strain on you. It is too much for you to burden and bear while he sits at home and enjoy the benefits of your labor. Nope. Not anymore. It’s time he pulled his weight and took care of his responsibility as a husband. The offer you made to take care of everything while he got himself out of debt is no longer on the table. You have given him sufficient time to pay down his debt, and he hasn’t been intentional in getting it paid. That is no longer you problem. You’ve given him two years, and he has had enough time to get his finances in order.

Yes, these are drastic measures, and yes, it will take you having a backbone, and standing up for yourself in this one-way selfish marriage where he is benefitting from a wife who is working just as much as he is, but you are contributing way more than he is. You are working to make help make his life easier, but you are struggling, and coming out of pocket to make his life more sufficient for his pockets and his interests. What about your needs and wants? What about when you want to spend something on yourself and not have to worry about paying all these bills while you got a grown ass man living with you and he is not even saying, “Baby, let me get the light bill this month. Or, let me pay the cable, and phone.” Hell, all he has to do is get ten dollars in quarters to do the laundry! No ma’am!

Put your foot down, and talk with your husband and let him know that you’re tired. You’re tired of footing the bills. You’re tired of taking care of everything. Let him know that you are taking the offer from the table whereas he gets to get his life out of debt, while you work to pay for everything, and eventually you will put yourself in debt. He is a grown ass man, and a grown ass married man. He should be making sure that you want for nothing, and that you are happy at home. If he doesn’t make any changes or necessary steps toward contributing to the household, then follow the laid out plan I provided, and I bet his ass will fall in line. – Terrance Dean

10-Year-Old Olivia Allen Holds Conference To Teach Girls To Be More Confident

10-year-old Olivia Allen isn’t waiting to become an adult to help kids her own age become better.

The aspiring philanthropist decided to help her peers with their self-esteem and confidence as part of a mission to inspire future generations of women…

Allen, who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted a free conference for her peers on Aug. 22 titled, “I Can Be: Girls Confidence Conference.”

“It’s important to give back,” Allen told The Huffington Post. “There are a lot of people in our community and if I help someone, they’ll help someone else… and it will be a cycle.”

About 50 girls ages 8 to 12, and their parents, attended the conference as Allen led her peers in a morning filled with workshops that touched on the physical, social and psychological challenges young girls face, mainly by tackling wavering self-esteem.

Allen said, this conference was necessary because she noticed a decline in morale among young girls in her community.

“I realize some girls’ confidence goes down when they start puberty,” Allen said, admitting that she even noticed a difference in her own at times. Because of this, she said, she wanted to do something to uplift others.

Allen spent this summer planning the conference mainly on her own and had financial assistance from her mother, Anitra Allen. She contacted speakers to help lead three separate workshops that focused on envisioning success, turning a passion into a business and personal health care. The conference also featured two keynote speakers (Barbara Sexton Smith and Ashley D. Miller) who addressed confidence and pursuing your dreams. Greg Fischer, mayor of Louisville, opened the conference and commended Allen for her work in the community.

According to her mom, Allen has always had a caring spirit. She said, her daughter once told her after seeing a panhandler one day after school, “Mommy, every time I see a homeless person, I just want to raise money to buy them a house.” She suggested her daughter do something more feasible to help out her community and Allen took her advice, she said, by holding a toy drive in March where she collected more than 100 toys for Kosair Charities. One month following the toy drive, Allen organized a food drive where she fed underprivileged children in her community.

The confidence conference was Allen’s most recent community outreach event, but she told HuffPost it wouldn’t be her last. She plans on continuing her work in the community and holding another conference for girls soon, she said.

Black Male Enrollment In Medical School Hits Huge Decline

A new study shows Black males applying to medical school is lower than it was over 30 years ago, raising concerns about America’s future ability to have health care workers be as diverse as the patients they take care of, according to a new report by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

Via Atlanta Daily News:

“No other minority group has experienced such declines,” wrote Marc Nivet, the chief diversity officer for AAMC, in a foreword for the report. “The inability to find, engage, and develop candidates for careers in medicine from all members of our society limits our ability to improve health care for all.”

The AAMC report titled, “Altering the Course: Black Males in Medicine,” paints a stark image of the current science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) pipeline and specifically how ineffective it has been with motivating young Black males to pursue medical careers.

In 1978 there were 1,410 Black male applicants to medical school. By 2014, however, that number had declined to 1,337, according to the report.

“A similar trend is observed for first-time matriculants: in 1978, there were 542 black male matriculants to MD-granting institutions, and in 2014, there were 515,” the report said. “In addition, of all racial and ethnic groups, the proportion of applicants to medical school who were male compared with female is lowest for African-Americans – despite an overall increase in the number of Black male college graduates.”

The AAMC represents 144 accredited medical schools in the United States, 17 accredited Canadian medical schools and nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems.

The push to get more young minorities to embrace STEM careers comes at time when researchers are predicting a shortage of 46,000 to 90,000 physicians by 2025 and studies have shown that increasing diversity in medical schools and in health care professions can boost civic engagement, expand exposure to different educational approaches and make it easier to recognize racism, the report said.

In a statement accompanying the report, Darrell G. Kirch, the president and CEO of AAMC, said that health care professionals have to work harder to get more young Black males into the talent pipeline to increase diversity in the physician workforce.
“The nagging challenge of health disparities requires all the best minds and perspectives,” said Kirch. “’Altering the Course’ is just the first step in identifying the problem. The AAMC looks forward to working with the [National Medical Association] to begin implementing solutions.”

Ex Atlanta Hawk DeMarre Carroll Selling His $1.27 Million Home

You may know DeMarre Carroll as “the guy with the braids”. The former Atlanta Hawk made a lil’ name for himself last year in the NBA playoffs before getting injured against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

DeMarre has since split from ATL, signing a $60 million deal with the Toronto Raptors to play in front of Drake and his owl homies every night in the 6.

That move has him ready to sell his $1.27 million Atlanta home. The property sports plenty of marble, wood and a general level of classiness commensurate with $1.27 million.

Carroll is also an out-of-control sneaker head, so his shoe closet is pretty impressive too.
