NYPD Sergeant Kills Himself After Facing Rape Charge

An NYPD officer recently accused of carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl committed suicide before facing charges in court. Via NYDN:

An NYPD sergeant accused two weeks ago of raping a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet killed himself Thursday, asphyxiating himself with a plastic bag in his childhood Brooklyn home, police sources said.

Joel Doseau, 43, was found dead shortly after 11 a.m. inside the E. 80th Street house near Glenwood Road in Canarsie. A suicide note was found on Doseau’s body identifying him by name, according to a source. The note said he was a cop.

Besides his legal woes, the cop also had financial troubles. His home was in foreclosure, the source said. The veteran cop’s world came crashing down Aug. 5 when he was arrested at his Bushwick apartment on a 40-count indictment that charged him with multiple counts of rape.

A Brooklyn grand jury said Doseau had an ongoing sexual relationship with the girl, now a woman in her early 20s, which started in 2008 when she was just 15, two years below the age of legal consent. Sources said Doseau actually met the girl a year earlier, when she was just 14. He was freed on $100,000 bond.

Among the charges Doseau faced were seven counts of rape, five counts of promoting the sexual performance of a child, 11 counts of sexual abuse and misconduct and three counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child, police said.

Wow. Sounds like he knew that guilty verdict was on the way…

Former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck was sentenced Friday to 48 weekends in jail after pleading guilty to a child sex abuse charge. In a Delaware courtroom, Shattuck expressed remorse and apologized to the now-16-year-old victim. Jury Unable To Reach Verdict In Manslaughter Case Against North Carolina Cop Randall Kerrick

This case is so sad it looks like there’s not going to be a verdict anytime soon.

Via MSNBC reports:

A judge in North Carolina on Friday declared a mistrial in a police officer’s 2013 killing of unarmed former college football player Jonathan Ferrell.

That means that the voluntary manslaughter charge against Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Randall “Wes” Kerrick remains open.

Kerrick, 29, shot Ferrell, 24, in a confrontation following a traffic accident.

The jury of eight women and four men deliberated over four days, taking several votes but never coming close to a unanimous decision on Kerrick’s fate. In its last vote on Friday afternoon, the jury was split 8-4.

At around 4:15 p.m. ET. the jury foreman told Judge Richard C. Ervin that the panel was deadlocked. Ervin asked if it would help if they broke for the weekend and returned on Monday, but the jury, in a show of hands, indicated it could go no further.

His fate still rests with prosecutors, who must decide whether to seek another trial.

The shooting unfolded on Sept. 14, 2013, after Ferrell, who’d once played defensive back for Florida A&M University, crawled from his wrecked car and staggered to a nearby house for help. A woman inside called 911 to report a possible break-in. Kerrick and two other officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene.

Police dashcam footage showed officers pointing Tasers at Ferrell, who then ran. Kerrick, who’d been an officer for three years, stood in his path. He shouted for Ferrell to get on the ground, then shot Ferrell 10 times. Kerrick said he feared Ferrell was going to hurt him when he opened fire.

Authorities charged Kerrick with manslaughter hours after the shooting.

The officer’s defense attorney argued at the trial that dents on the home’s door indicated that Ferrell was force his way into the house, and stressed that he could have injured the officers even though he was not armed.

But prosecutors said Ferrell wasn’t a threat, and argued that the defense was trying to “demonize” him. They said he did not approach the officers in an aggressive manner, and even if Kerrick felt threatened, he should have used his Taser or fought him off.

Kerrick’s jury was racially diverse: seven white members, three blacks and two Latinos.

Rachel Dolezal Reveals That She Is Pregnant

Rachel Dolezal has laid low out of the spotlight for the better part of the last two months. But now, she’s surreptitiously revealing that she is carrying a gut full of transraciality on her instagram page. Via MailOnline:

Race faker Rachel Dolezal announced in a social media post that she is expecting a baby boy.

The 37-year-old former Spokane, Washington NAACP official claims in a post on her private Instagram account that she is pregnant, according to the New York Daily News.

‘One of my sons is a grown-man at 21, one thinks he’s grown at 13, and another one is still cooking,’ the now-deleted post read.

Dolezal, who still insists she is black six weeks after she was publicly outed by her parents as white, described herself as a ‘mean momma bear’ in the post.

‘They are all three my precious beloved babies, and I am a mean momma bear if anyone gets between me & my cubs!’ the post read, which was alongside a picture of a bear standing over three cubs.

Her post did not mention how far along her pregnancy was or information regarding the possible child’s father, according to the New York Daily News.

The divorced civil rights activist, who sparked a national debate on race, has one known biological child, Franklin, and took in her adopted 21-year-old brother, Izaiah, and started bringing him up as her son.

Dolezal has no black relatives dating back to 1671, an investigation by Daily Mail Online earlier revealed.
However, she continues to describe herself as black and claims she ‘didn’t deceive anybody’.

Instead, she says that it was the public’s definition of race that was to blame for the confusion.

Dr. Dre Apologizes For Past Domestic Abuse

With the great success of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ has also come great criticism of the biopic for omitting key details of the group’s history…particularly Dr. Dre’s notorious pension for slapping up the women in his life. After all the backlash and call-outs the mogul has faced, he is finally addressing his violent past with women that got omitted from the film.

Critics charge that the movie, which was co-produced by Dr. Dre, glosses over N.W.A.’s record of misogyny and ignores Dr. Dre’s history of physically abusing women. In a sign that the uproar was threatening not only his reputation but also his business dealings, Dr. Dre, who has previously spoken dismissively or vaguely about the decades-old episodes, confronted them on Friday in a statement to The New York Times. While he did not address each allegation individually, he said: “Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.”

He added: “I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.” Apple, where Dr. Dre, 50, now works as a top consultant, also issued a statement: “Dre has apologized for the mistakes he’s made in the past and he’s said that he’s not the same person that he was 25 years ago. We believe his sincerity and after working with him for a year and a half, we have every reason to believe that he has changed.” This is the latest case of a celebrity who, partly because of the Internet, has been forced to face old abuse allegations. And for the accusers, Dr. Dre’s statement may be an acknowledgment of what they said decades ago.

T.I. And Tiny Owe $4.5 Million In Unpaid Taxes

Looks like T.I.’s accountant has some ‘splainin’ to do? The rapper/actor and his singer/reality star wife have been hit with two liens over their 2012 and 2013 filings.

According to Page Six reports:

The Georgia-born artist – real name Clifford Harris, Jr. – owes Uncle Sam over $4.5 million in unpaid taxes from 2012 and 2013, according to documents obtained by Page Six.

The first federal tax lien was filed earlier this month in Georgia and states the “Blurred Lines” rapper, 34, along with his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris (in the document she is listed as Tameka Cottle), owe the US government just under $1.4 million in unpaid taxes for the year 2012.

The Feds filed a second lien solely against Harris for unpaid taxes in 2013 amounting to nearly $3.2 million.

No stranger to flaunting his wealth, the self-proclaimed “King of Da South” dropped $4.26 million in 2006 for his 10,460-square-foot waterfront property in Jonesboro, GA, according to public record.

From private jets to expensive watches and exotic vacations, Harris’ Instagram account documents his high-spending lifestyle.

Request for comment from a rep for T.I. was not immediately returned.

Wonder if T.I. will play “You Can Have Whatever You Like” for Uncle Sam…

Woman Finds Racist Message Written On Her Order Of Chicken Wings

Dicken wings? Naw.

A woman was stunned to find a takeaway had written instructions to fry her chicken wings “hard like a black d***”.

Loretta Smith Layne, from New Jersey in the United States, ordered the fast food from Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz last month, according to WCAU-TV.

She was left shocked by the racist term when she examined the receipt.

“I was very offended and upset and disrespected to get those words on a receipt,” Layne said.

Store owner Danny Sommeling told WCAU-TV to get off his property when approached by a reporter but admitted in a text message to Ms Layne that it was the fault of his son – a manager at the pizzeria.

Danny Sommeling said his son’s behaviour was “definitely not professional” but said he was “a really good boy”.

He then later backtracked again to the TV station and said he was unaware of who had written the receipt.

For the record, chicken is tasty and delicious. Under no circumstances would we want out chicken to tast like d***.

A woman dumped by text has become an internet sensation after her spectacular temper tantrum was caught on camera.The 24-year-old was heartbroken when she received a message from her boyfriend of several years telling her they were finished.

And the woman then shocked onlookers in downtown Hong Kong when she threw herself to the floor in a rage, kicking her legs and screaming at passersby.

Bystanders attempt to help the woman, but she becomes increasingly angry as she yells and flails around.

 Wearing a short gray tracksuit and white sneakers, with bright red hair, the woman draws a crowd thanks to her bizarre behavior, reported Opposing Views. Several people try to help the distraught woman, but she continues to roll around the floor, screaming and striking awkward poses. Reports suggest that the woman remained on the ground for more than an hour as bemused onlookers attempted to help her.Eventually police and paramedics arrived, and carried the woman away in a stretcher to put an end to the sorry scene.
