A disturbing video was uploaded to Twitter yesterday that shows a heated arrest ending with a man being tasered.

“After actually witnessing police brutality I look at that (expletive) a whole different way bro smh #DentonTx,” the accompanying tweet reads.

According to police, they were called to the scene after receiving reports of a naked woman holding a child. Upon their arrival, they found a woman on the second-floor balcony wrapped in a blanket, and the good samaritan, 26-year-old Marcus Coleman holding the child.

As officers approached the woman, they determined that she was “in an altered state and needed a medical evaluation.” In an attempt get this woman help, police began to assault her.

When Coleman witnessed police react to the woman, who did not want to be arrested, with violent escalation, he became emotionally charged. The woman is screaming for help as two officers attempt to subdue her. “Someone help me, please!” she screams.

Coleman, who was obviously disturbed by the violent scene, began pleading with the officers to stop being so rough.

“We’re just people,” Coleman pleads. “I’m innocent and you’re trying to shoot me.”

Police claim that Coleman then rushed police, by pushing and attempting to force his way past the cops, and an officer was forced to taser him. The video, however, never shows this alleged “pushing” of the officer. The man filming does switch back and forth between the woman and Coleman, but when the camera pans back to Coleman, we can see the significant distance between him and the officer.

“Look, man, look! She needs help,” screams Coleman just before his concern is met with 50,000 volts.

“[Coleman] ignored the officer’s orders and tried to push his way past the officer to get to the officers and female on the ground,” read the statement from Denton PD. “When [Coleman] tried to get past the officer, he deployed his taser bringing [Coleman] to the ground.”

After the taser was deployed, his body locks up, and Coleman falls face first onto the rail of the second-floor balcony. He was then arrested and charged with interfering with public duties.

The video was shot by 18-year-old Jeremy Jones, who was visiting relatives in an apartment complex near the motel. He said he shot the video Wednesday afternoon as he walked past a motel in Denton. He said he heard a woman screaming from a balcony and saw two officers trying to restrain her, so he pulled out his phone and captured the following video.

Top Risk Factors For Mental Health Problems In Black Community

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles have identified five environmental factors that they say can predict depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in low-income minority communities. In addition, they developed a new screening to assist clinicians in making such diagnoses in this population.

Mental health issues disproportionately impact low-income African-American, Latinos and Hispanics, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Hector Myers, PhD, formerly of the UCLA Center for Culture, Trauma and Mental Health Disparities, and now with Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn., and colleagues examined the kinds of negative experiences that could impact poor African-Americans and Latinos. They asked 500 low-income African-American and Hispanic men and women to self-report on measures of stress and mental health, including childhood violence, poverty, trauma and discrimination.

The more adversities people faced and the burden of these experiences in their lifetime, the higher the risk they would develop more severe depression, anxiety and PTSD, the researchers reported in the journal Psychological Trauma.

The five environmental risk factors identified in the study that could predict mental illness later on are:

Experiences of discrimination due to racial, ethnic, gender or sexual orientation;
A history of sexual abuse;
A history of violence in the family or from an intimate partner;
A history of violence in an individual’s community;
A chronic fear of being killed or seriously injured

The study adds that: “Given the utility and ease of use, LADS could be effective as a screening tool to identify ethnic and racial minority individuals in primary care settings who have a high trauma burden, and who need more extensive evaluation,”

Knowing these risk factors allows people in minority groups to help come to grips with their trauma and find help to cope. Do you think mental health is a major problem in the Black community??

During Kylie Jenner’s graduation party, her big sister apparently got into the party spirit and tried to show off her dancing skills.

As previously reported Kylie celebrated her graduation party at her mom’s mansion with guests including Kim, Khloe and her boyfriend James Harden and Kylie’s 26-year-old boyfriend Tyga (SMH).

After celebrating inside, the group took to the backyard where there were synchronized swimmers and songs from Future’s “Dirty Sprite 2″ on repeat prompting Khloe and her bought-a-booty to attempt a twerk session.

SMH…fans have since reacted and while some LOVED Khloe’s stiff struggle twerk…

others roasted it.

Chris Brown Finally Give Clearance To Leave The Philippines

Grammy award-winning singer Chris Brown is finally on his way out of the Philippines after a three-day delay due to a fraud complaint against him for a canceled concert last New Year’s Eve.

Brown was able to obtain late Friday a certificate that allows him to leave the country, said Elaine Tan, spokeswoman of the Immigration Bureau.

The 26-year-old R&B artist has been stuck in Manila for a third day after running afoul of a corporation, run by an influential religious group’s members, that filed a fraud complaint against him for a canceled New Year’s Eve gig. He performed Tuesday at a packed concert in Manila.

Journalists saw Brown and around 10 others boarding his private plane parked at an airport hangar, with one taking a selfie before going into the plane.

Tan said Brown obtained the departure clearance at the bureau’s extension office and not at the main office in downtown Manila where dozens of journalists were staking out.

She said the clearance was given after “verifying that Chris Brown has no other derogatory record apart from the (immigration lookout bulletin)” that was issued Wednesday.

No derogatory record…in the Philippines.

Earlier Friday, Brown tweeted: “This is a very serious situation and someone needs to be held accountable for mixing my name up in all this”

“I’ve done nothing wrong,” he added.

He said he returned to Manila to do a show to make up for the canceled concert. The initial performance was to be at the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena, operated by a corporation owned by the politically influential Iglesia ni Cristo religious group.

In its complaint, the Maligaya Development Corp. alleged Brown and promoter John Michael Pio Roda canceled after being paid in full for a $1 million contract.

Chris Brown is guilty of a lot of criminal and morally reprehensible behavior, but it appears that is a really innocent of wrongdoing this time…

Hulk Hogan Fired From WWE Over Racist N-Word Rant

Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan issued an apology Friday after the National Enquirer released a transcript of statements he made that included racial slurs.

The remarks were recorded in an “unauthorized sex tape,” according to the Enquirer, and included the n-word in reference to the dating life of his daughter, Brooke. He has since apologized.

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation,” Hogan says in a statement. “It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it.”

He goes on to say that “I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.

“It is not who I am. I continue to work every day to improve as a person, and this matter is an important learning experience for me in that regard. As a result I am resigning from my contractual relationship with the WWE.”

Sounds good, however…

…his former employer said it ended its business relationship with Hogan.

“WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide,” the organization said in a statement.

Fans noticed that Hogan has been removed entirely from the WWE’s website, including from its Hall of Fame.

There is no sympathy in our hearts for the Hulkster. Clearly he wasn’t the pillar of Christian values as evidenced by his philandering and subsequent divorce. This is just the cherry on top of his azzhole sundae…

The World’s First Non-White Modeling Agency Successfully Pushes The Envelope

A 26-year-old Canadian woman, Nafisa Kaptownwala, is taking the diversity issue in the modeling industry to heart. Kaptownwala recently launched the world’s first exclusively non-white modeling agency called Lorde Inc. Based out of London, Lorde finds most of its models the old-fashioned way, on the streets. And so far, the agency is finding success in its unique business model. Kaptownwala started the agency after she had begun working in fashion and realized just how few models of color were represented. The agency currently represents 60 models from various races, ethnicities, and cultures. In just one year, Lorde has secured contracts with the likes of Dazed and i-D magazines as well as the fashion company Adidas.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Won’t Reveal How Many Apple Watches Were Sold

…Quarterly sales figures are in, although unreleased, and reports suggest that the Apple Watch did well enough. The company turned in first quarter sales figures earlier this week. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that Apple Watch exceeded their sales estimates, even though we don’t know what the estimations were. Cook doesn’t want to share the numbers because it will “give insight to competitors.”… The Apple Watch could have sold between 2 and 4 million units in its launch quarter, snatching up a 75 percent share of the smart watch industry — even though there’s no real competition in said industry.

Man Receives $4K In Chicken Box

No good deed goes unpunished. A man mistakenly accepted $4,500 in cash from a Bojangles’ restaurant after complaining about cold food…but once he returned it, he got the cold shoulder. Via HuffPost:

A Virginia man found and returned $4,500 that was mistakenly served to him inside a bag of fried chicken, but he has a beef with the way the restaurant treated him after he saved the day.

James Minor went to a Bojangles’ restaurant in Henrico on Friday for some chicken, but said he was unhappy to find that it was cold.

“I sent it back to the person who was working the window and I asked them to get some fresh chicken,” Minor told WTVR. “And they told me to pull up in the drive-thru and fresh chicken would be out in six or seven minutes.”

When the new order arrived, Minor found himself one lucky duck. Instead of the chicken he ordered, there was $4,500 in cash and some deposit slips.

Minor was shocked and went to speak to the manager immediately. He was even more shocked by the manager’s response.

“The manager came and I said, ‘Can you please tell me as a customer why is this money in a Bojangles’ box? Whose money is it? And, is this a setup?’” Minor told ABC27.com. “And so the manager says, ‘If you would’ve drove off, we would’ve called the authorities on you.’”

Minor returned the money and was offered a free meal by another manager, but the whole experience left a bad taste in his mouth, especially after he called a district manager who he says hung up on him, according to WTVR.

SMH! You would think they could just say “thank you.”

Quentin Miller Speaks Out On “Ghostwriting” Drake Lyrics

The man at the center of the Drake lyric scandal has finally broken his silence. After Meek Mill accused Drake of buying rhymes from a mystery ghostwriter by the name of Quentin Miller, the hip-hop streets have been abuzz about who this newcomer is and whether or not he’s the one truly responsible for Drizzy’s signature sound.

I am not and never will be a “ghostwriter” for drake.. Im proud to say that we’ve collaborated .. but i could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together ..

Parental Checklist, Student Bill Of Rights Among New Resources To Support Parents And Students

As millions of children prepare to head back to school, the feds announced new tools to help African-American students excel in the classroom.

A new parental checklist is a framework that moms and dads, mentors and teachers can use to improve African-American student performance and help close the so-called “achievement gap” between black students and their white peers.

“Our hope is that these tools support black families,” said David Johns, the executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, “and all caring and concerned individuals who should be engaged in the work of supporting our children, our communities and our country, to ensure that excellence for all is not a goal, but something that is required and a prerequisite for how we do business.”

Using input from advocacy groups like the National Urban League, America Achieves and the United Negro College Fund, the U.S. Department of Education’s checklist includes questions parents can ask, like how educators will keep them informed on their child’s performance, how parents and teachers will make sure their child’s school is a safe, inclusive and supportive place and how educators and parents can work together if the child falls behind.

Also released was a student bill of rights, a guide to what parents and students should expect in education: access to high quality pre-school, elementary and secondary schools, as well as universities and community colleges.

African-Americans have historically lagged behind their white peers when it comes to overall student achievement. Black students are less likely to go to pre-school, and more likely to attend high poverty schools and drop out of high school, according to data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Bernard Berrian Catches Friend And Ex-Teammate Burglarizing His Home

Former Vikings and Bears wide receiver Bernard Berrian has gone from catching passes to criminals, and his post-playing career as a sleuth won’t get any easier than it did when he caught his friend red-handed.

The strange but true story, as told by Berrian to KFSN-TV Action News reporter Sontaya Rose, began with a pair of unsolved burglaries in Berrian’s Fresno area home during early April. As a result, the one-time NFL leader in yards per reception installed a security system to help solve the targeted crime spree.

Meanwhile, Berrian’s former Fresno State teammate and longtime friend Therrian Fontenot had taken a creepy interest in his whereabouts. Their conversations went something like, “Hey, man, are you around this weekend? Oh, you’re out of town? Any chance you could send over the itinerary? Just curious is all.”

A couple weeks later, Fontenot, who appeared in two career NFL games as a defensive back for the Packers and Browns, left a barbecue the two friends attended together, and Berrian received an alert on his phone. He fired up the security footage, and there was Fontenot rifling through his belongings.

“I actually watched him doing it while he was doing it,” said Berrian. “I could have actually spoke to him, I got a microphone on there. I could have told him, I got you, while he was doing it.”

“I was like, wow, he is a real professional, he takes a spray bottle with him to wipe off fingerprints and a towel.”

The game is filthy. SMH.
