Black women are magic. But some people refuse to show them the respect they deserve and maintain terrible views on how amazing they are. These men need to get their lives together and learn who’s basically running the world and making everyone’s lives better.
Actors Michael Jai White and Gillian Waters tied the knot in a lavish Fourth of July weekend ceremony in Thailand, BOSSIP can reveal.
White and Waters wed July 3 in front of less than 40 guests at the estate of film producer and finance exec Michael Selby, and his wife, Jantana.
“We decided to get married in Thailand after completing our new Sony Pictures film, ‘Never Back Down 3,’ which we are both starring in,” Waters told BOSSIP, “so it seemed like a great idea to have a Thai style wedding.”
The “Spawn” star and his Tyler Perry actress bride were escorted down the aisle by a procession of elephants. The couple then greeted their guests before a Thai officiant performed a traditional Thai water blessing. Then the ceremony moved to the estate’s riverfront lotus pond, there the couple exchanged vows and platinum and diamond wedding rings.
The bride wore a white and gold Thai silk number in traditional Thai design, with an asymmetrical top and mermaid bottom.
“My dress is gorgeous!” Waters gushed to BOSSIP. “I feel like an exotic queen in it.”
Following the ceremony, guests feasted on a wedding dinner of pad thai with prawns, crab fried rice, curried chicken satay, Thai fruits and sticky sweet rice with mango and coconut milk. The wedding cake was a three-tiered creation from Bangkok bakery Coffee Beans By Dao.
The night ended with a fireworks show on the river.

Waters said she and White met in 1997 in an LA club.
“We were both attracted to one another, but neither one of us is very forward or overly flirtatious, we are kind of really cool nerds, so we just started casually dancing and talking.” Waters recalled.
They dated for a while and then broke it off as their careers took over.
“We remained friends for 18 years,” Waters said. “In 2013, we reconnected romantically. Michael was sick in the hospital and called me and told me he had always loved me, I was the one that got away and wanted to try our love again…I most definitely said yes!”
Now that the wedding is done, the couple is taking some time off for their honeymoon.
“We plan on taking a relaxing vacation on the beautiful beaches of southern Thailand and then heading back home to the states,” Waters said. “Michael had to start editing the movie we just finished and we both have projects lined up.”

Susannah Mushatt Jones, confirmed by the Guinness World Records organization as the oldest living person in the world this past June, celebrated her 116th birthday on Monday privately in Brooklyn… Jones was born July 6, [1899] in Alabama, as child of a sharecropper and a granddaughter to former slaves. According to Guinness, Jones moved north to New Jersey in 1922 after graduating high school. She then moved into New York where she worked as a child care provider and housekeeper. Jones retired from work in 1965, and settled in Brooklyn. Although Jones is hard of hearing and lost her eyesight, she is not beholden to a bed and can get around ably.

You have to be careful with these online hookups! A Houston man was shot in a robbery gone wrong, apparently after being lured into a setup by a teenage girl he met on an online dating site. Via Click2Houston:
A teen girl is accused of using an online dating service to set up a man to be robbed, according to deputies.
Brittany Shalynn Davis, 18, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the victim arranged to meet Davis, who called herself “Shayye,” after connecting with her on Plenty of Fish, an online dating website.
The man met up with Davis at the El Sol Brillante Apartments in the 6400 block of Sierra Blanca on June 29.
He said while the two were standing outside talking, Davis got on the phone with someone and told them she was standing at the bottom of the stairwell.
Davis told the man that she needed to go get something from a friend’s house and began to walk off. That is when two armed men approached the man and demanded money.
After searching the man and realizing he had no cash, the suspects began to argue with Davis, criticizing her for bringing a man to them who had no money.
You would think that would be the end of it all…but the assailants didn’t simply let the victim go once they realized he didn’t have anything for them.
The suspects then ordered the man to walk to his vehicle, and once there, the man was shot in the chest.
The victim said one of the men said “He’s dead,” and all three suspects ran off.
The victim pretended to be dead until Davis and the men left. Afterward, he got into his car and dialed 911. He drove to Highway 6 and Alief Clodine, where he stopped and waited for paramedics because he could not breathe, according to court documents.
Investigators interviewed people at the apartment complex and learned there was a resident who called herself Shayye. Police made a photo lineup using Davis’ photograph and the victim was able to identify her as the teen who lured him to the apartments and set him up for the attempted robbery.

While Bill Cosby’s sworn admission to drugging and sedating women for sex is enough for some to backtrack on their support of the scandalized comedian, others are refusing to face that there may be some truth to the roughly 40 accusations against him. Whoopi Goldberg is still searching for additional proof, and she doesn’t care what you have to say about it. Via PageSix:
Whoopi Goldberg is doubling down in her defense of Bill Cosby despite his admission in sworn testimony he gave women Quaaludes to have sex with them.
“The View” host spoke about the most recent damning evidence against Cosby, which was revealed on Monday when previously sealed court documents were released. In a sworn deposition taken in 2005, the married entertainer admitted to purchasing Quaaludes with the intention of giving them to women he wanted to have sex with.
“I think it’s, again, we’ll see what happens,” Goldberg said of the Cosby developments. “As more information comes out, people can make judgments. I don’t like snap judgments.”
The TV host added she didn’t care what critics would say of her stance.
“Save your texts; save your nasty comments. I don’t care. I say this because this is my opinion, and in America, still, I know it’s a shock, but you are still innocent until proven guilty,” she said. “He has not been proven.”

Tough coaching is one thing, but the University of Illinois Women’s Basketball team and the football team each allege that coaches not only segregated Black players from the rest, but bullied them with racial slurs and taunts, even forcing Black players to practice and participate while injured. It was a separate practice for women’s basketball players at the University of Illinois, a majority of them black, where athletes were often allegedly harassed and attacked for things that had nothing to do with basketball.

Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb got popped for yet another DUI over the weekend. Via ESPN:
Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb has been arrested in Arizona on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time in 18 months, according to police documents released Tuesday.
Police in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert said McNabb was cited and released from a police facility after being arrested June 28 following a non-injury collision late that night.
McNabb, 38, told officers he had just left a sports bar and was driving to his Phoenix-area home. A police report stated McNabb’s vehicle rear-ended a car driven by the wife of a Gila River tribal police officer and McNabb appeared to be impaired.
“While Donovan spoke, I noticed a strong, fruity odor on his breath. I noticed Donovan’s eyes were watery and very bloodshot and his speech was slurred,” a Gilbert officer wrote in his report. The officer said he asked McNabb how much alcohol he had to drink.
“Nothing,” McNabb said, according to the police report, adding that he had a cold and was taking a cough syrup and eating two cough drops.
The officer made McNabb spit out the cough drops and gave him a battery of tests, noting six signs of impairment. McNabb “was not able to stand without visibly swaying back and forth and side to side in a rotational pattern,” the report said.
Police said a blood sample was sent to the Mesa Police Crime Lab for analysis. The results haven’t been released.
SMH! Sounds like it may be time for McNabb to seek some help.

It’s hard to believe this kid could kill anyone, but 12-year-old Jarrell Milton is believed to be involved in the death of one man and a murder attempt on another.
According to People.com reports:
Jarrell Milton, 12, had been on the run since last month and was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Jamymell Ray, 31, who was killed on June 29 in Omaha, Nebraska, according to WOWT 6 News. Another man, 30-year-old Charles Fisher, was injured in the shooting.
Jarrell was found in Minneapolis, hundreds of miles away from where the crime took place, police said in a statement late Tuesday, the Omaha World-Herald reports. Authorities are expected to begin court proceedings to transport Jarrell back to Omaha on Wednesday.
Jarrell’s 17-year-old brother Jamar and another boy, Shuntayvious Primes-Willis, 15, have already been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the shooting, NBC News reports.
“I don’t recall ever seeing someone that young, charged with a crime that serious,” Omaha police spokesman Michael Pecha told the network.
Prosecutors said they believe that the boys had promised to sell the two adult men marijuana. But when the men showed up to do the deal, the boys tried to rob them and ended up opening fire on the men, killing one and injuring the other.
Prosecutors also suspect that the three boys have gang ties. “There isn’t any question in my mind,” Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told WOWT 6 News.
“Our intentions are to file on them as adults,” he added. “There’s a question in regards to the 12-year-old under the new law, whether we can proceed in adult court, so we’ll get him into custody and then make that determination.”
He’s shocked to be prosecuting such a young boy. “It’s incomprehensible. It’s unbelievable when you think of somebody who’s 12 years old, seventh grade or sixth grade, and being charged with murder for having a gun – approaching somebody and using that firearm with two other people that also had firearms,” Kleine said. “All of it’s even impossible to imagine that it’s even a possibility.”
Damn this is crazy. Talk about innocence lost. Sounds like his older brother may have potentially lead him down this path of crime and destruction.

On-again, off-again Love & Hip Hop LA couple Nikki Baby and Mally Mal are off yet again, and thier split is getting pretty messy. Nikki Baby pulled a Chris Brown on her Ex Mally Mal last night, showing up to his place unannounced and causing a scene of epic proportions. Via TMZ:
‘Love And Hip Hop’ stars Nikki Mudarris and Mally Mall’s breakup just went NUCLEAR — he says she went berserk, smashing $30k worth of fine china … until the neighbors called the cops, and we got the video.
We’re told Nikki showed up at Mally’s home in Bev Hills Monday night and refused to leave — and took out her rage on the fancy plates … which she claims she bought.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … cops showed up just before 11 PM for a report that Nikki was vandalizing the property. We’re told she cooled down at the sight of badges, but Mally caught her making a quick exit in this video.
Mall didn’t want to press charges on his ex … so cops just escorted her off the property.
Sources close to Nikki say she freaked out because Mally broke her custom made iPhone 6 in a jealous rage days earlier. Since she paid for the china … this seems like the worst revenge ever.
Mally seemed to recover just fine — we got him later that night leaving Ace of Diamonds strip club, where he’d just dropped $20k!
She’s breaking things now…but it’s we’re starting the countdown clock for when she takes him back, yet again. SMH.

People have projected for years that Latino Americans would outnumber the rest of the races residing in the USA. That day has already come for California, where the “minority” has officially eclipsed the number of Caucasians residing in the state. Via LATimes:
The demographers agreed: at some point in 2014, Latinos would pass whites as the largest ethnic group in California.
Determining when exactly that milestone would occur was more of a tricky question. Counting people isn’t like counting movie ticket receipts.
The official confirmation had to wait until new population figures were released by the Census Bureau this summer. The new tally, released in late June, shows that as of July 1, 2014, about 14.99 million Latinos live in California, edging out the 14.92 million whites in the state.
The shift shouldn’t come as a surprise. State demographers had previously expected the change to occur sometime in 2013, but slow population growth pushed back projections. In January 2014, the state Department of Finance estimated the shift would take place at some point in March.
Either way, the moment has officially arrived.
“It is going to accelerate,” said Roberto Suro, director of the Tomás Rivera Policy Institute at USC. “This is really the beginning of a new phase that will play out over another generation.”
The continued influx and growth of Latinos in the United States is not being fueled exclusively by immigration but by second- and third-generation immigrants who are settling down and starting families, said Marcelo Suárez-Orozco, a professor and dean of education at UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information Studies.
“Where L.A. goes is where the rest of the state goes and where the rest of the country goes,” he said. “We announce demographically speaking, the future for the rest of the country.”

Sad news for Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. Looks like his 4th of July mishap will cost him an index finger. But oddly, he isn’t the only NFL baller who got a little too close to the action on Saturday night…yet another player is parting ways with one of his digits after a similar accident. Via E!online:
This Fourth of July proved to be quite dangerous.
NFL players Jason Pierre-Paul (New York Giants) and C.J. Wilson (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) ended up having to get fingers amputated following separate firework accidents over the holiday weekend. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted, “ESPN obtained medical charts that show Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul had right index finger amputated today.”
However, Giants fans need not worry. It seems as though he’ll be on the road to recovery soon and won’t be off the field for too long. Schefter followed with, “Medical source expects him to play this season, ‘sooner than people think.'”
The 26-year-old defensive end has been in a South Florida hospital since Saturday night when he severely injured his hand in a fireworks accident, however specifics on what happened are unknown.
It was initially believed that Pierre-Paul had only suffered burns on three fingers and parts of both hands, but it was clearly worse than people thought.
Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player lost two fingers in a fireworks accident on Saturday, according to the Lincoln Times-News, located in Wilson’s home town of Lincolnton, N.C.
The Buccaneers have acknowledged they’re aware of the injury but have not released any details about Wilson’s condition. Wilson’s agent has likewise confirmed that he’s injured but declined to release any medical information.
Damn! Well, it definitely could have been worse…they should consider themselves lucky and be more careful next time.
Kylie Jenner is noticeably looking more and more like big sister Kim K. by the day, with similar clothing, styling and…assets. But as an insider recently shared with OK! Magazine, lil Kylizzle paid good money for her transformation, specifically with the goal of competing with Kim as the hottest family member. Via HollywoodLife:
“She looks absolutely nothing like she did a few years ago, and it’s been the plan all along to transform herself a much as possible into Kim,” a source tells OK! Magazine. While there were no specifics given about what exactly this transformation entailed, whatever it may be, it allegedly cost the teen a whopping $2 million!
The insider claims Kylie has been allegedly undergoing an intense lineup of cosmetic procedures for quite some time, including the “temporary lip fillers” she admitted to getting during an interview on KUWTK. In that same interview, Kylie explained her insecurity about her looks being blasted by the media. “I’m just not ready to talk [about it yet]…everyone always picks us apart,” she said Kylie’s insecurity has been with her since the beginning of KUWTK, when she saw herself as the “ugly ducking” with beautiful sisters who seemed to have it all. Apparently, Kylie wasted no time in changing that.
“As soon as she was old enough, she decided she was going to do something about it,” the source revealed. “She hounded Kris until she signed off on her surgery.”
Although the alleged $2 million is a pretty crazy amount of money, Kylie is reportedly now more confident than ever and thinks she’s filling Kim’s shoes fast. She has often been confused for her big sis, and her wardrobe has practically become a spitting image of Kim’s too.
“She wants to show off her body and always talks about how Kim must be so jealous, because she’s younger and prettier and gets more attention from guys these days,” says the insider.
So what does Kim think of her wannabe sis? Surprisingly — she’s not even phased! “She thinks it’s cute that Kylie idolizes her,” the insider says. “Kylie is convinced that they’re rivals, [but for now] it’s a one-sided argument.”
Well, it’s just as well. Word on the street is that Tyga is into that heavily knifed-up look anyway…
And this is how history gets told.
South Carolina Representative Jenny Horne – who revealed that she’s a descendant of Jefferson Davis – made an impassioned plea to her peers to tear down the Confederate Flag. Her speech was appreciated and great to watch. She didn’t seem to have any condescension or anything. So what I’m going to say here shouldn’t come off as any criticism of her attempt to facilitate a removal of one of America’s symbols of racism and hatred:
Jenny Horne isn’t the reason the Confederate flag came down. In fact, she’s not even remotely close to the top of the list of influencers that caused the flag’s removal. I’m pretty sure that the South Carolina government would be signing the bill to remove the flag even if Horne had played Doodle Jump on her phone during the hearing instead of standing up to speak.
Civil disobedience took down the Confederate flag. Protests took down the Confederate flag. Social media mobilization took down the Confederate flag. America’s habit of waiting for Black people to die before deciding to consider affecting change took that flag down.
Bree Newsome took down that flag.
But none of that will matter anymore. As I’m typing this, I’m watching CNN highlight Horne’s speech, talking about how there shouldn’t be a dry eye in America after hearing her talk. There’s an attempt to make this story about Horne, now. So we know what happens next: Horne becomes a political hero who will be played by Sandra Bullock in an Oscar-winning movie about White people’s compassion for change in America. The only nine Black people in the movie will die soon after the opening credits roll. This is how America’s stories get told. Just look at Mississippi Burning – a movie about the Goodman, Chaney, Schwerner murders from the Civil Rights Movement and how heroic White people solved the crime (in actuality it was Civil Rights workers and Dick Gregory putting pressure on the government to find the bodies but who cares, right?).
Pivoting the narrative of the Confederate flag’s removal to be about Horne’s speech serves White privilege in at least two distinct ways:
1) By pretending that Horne’s speech is the impetus for the Confederate flag’s removal, the narrative can demean the impact of Bree Newsome and civilized disorder. By reporting that civil disobedience caused any sort of legislative change only encourages more civil disobedience. And nobody wants that, right?
2) The story of taking the Confederate Flag now becomes about the White journey to retribution. America only feels comfortable facing its history of racism and oppression through the lens of self-gratification. Horne and her peers can embrace their racist roots only as they are “overcoming” them. This story is about the White privilege of forgiving themselves for their history. They can reach back to their past only as they are patting themselves on the back. Now we can forget about their history of racism because they’ve redeemed themselves and every can feel better. Horne can confront her past and be forgiven and by extension, the rest of White America can rejoice in their act of progressiveness that allowed them to sleep better at night.
But let’s get it straight: for decades, Black America has demanded that the Confederate flag come down. It wasn’t until nine Black people were killed that most state governments even considered its removal – because legislated change is either prologue or epilogue to the loss of subjugated life in America. Then, people marched. Again. Then #BlackLivesMatter mobilized in Charleston. The uproar caused by the movement led businesses to pull Confederate memorabilia from shelves and remove endorsements to the hate-filled image.
And Bree Newsome took down that damn flag.
I appreciate Jenny Horne. But this isn’t about her. This is about the perseverance of Blackness in the face of White supremacy. This is about movement. And this is about Black Lives Mattering. I just hope that we’re one step closer to Black lives mattering enough that we won’t have to lose any next time we want to make significant changes in America.
