Business is booming for an Australian all-male lingerie company. Apparently, the demand for silky boyshorts and lacy thongs in grown-man sizes is through the roof in countries like the US and Canada, so they are rushing to meet demand.
Although you might think you’d have the clientele of this company pegged, the owners insist that demand is so high because their products are wanted by “the average Joe” — not just transgender women, cross-dressers, and gay men. Via NewNowNext:
Though the concept seems like it would only cater to a certain type of gay man, Homme Mystere owners Brent and Lara Krause claim “over 90 percent” of their clientele are men over 40 in “heterosexual relationships.”
They’re going to be expanding their site to match increased demand overseas, specifically in Russia, America and Canada, countries that now make up 40 percent of the company’s sales.
In a blog on the company’s website, Brent Krause describes “the cycle of guilt” that comes with being a serial lingerie buyer. He says he built the company with his wife not only to quench the thirst of men who prefer wearing women’s undergarments, but also to provide a better fit for them and cease the “inner guilt” that comes with shopping in stores that are ‘not meant for you.’
Any guy that’s into lingerie has no doubt wrestled with the guilt associated with wearing something ‘they’re not supposed to’.? What drives that guilt?? Probably the same thing that drives the urge to wear the lingerie in the first place.? The first time is pretty exciting, but so very wrong! So you avoid it for a while until the temptation becomes too great and then BANG!? You’re wearing panties again.
“We are not concerned if you are gay, straight, vegetarian, republican, anglican, martian or any other persuasion. We just design and manufacture attractive luxury underwear for men,” a statement from the company reads.

Hopping around shirtless in a pair of red silk trunks, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney faced off against five-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield for a boxing match in Salt Lake City on Friday.
Few would have predicted the spectacle three years ago, when Romney was looking more presidential and his opponent was President Barack Obama.
The bout raised money for CharityVision, an organization that provides surgeries to heal blindness.
For two rounds, Romney, 68, and Holyfield, 52, went head-to-head, each landing gentle blows that appeared more like a tickle fight than a boxing match. Although Holyfield took a tumble on the mat, Romney threw in the towel in the second round.
That’s right. Mitt Romney “knocked down” the heavyweight boxing champ.
The fight began with Money Makin’ Mitt basically throwing hi-5’s at Earless Evander Holyfield.

MARTA officials said the bus crossed the train tracks on Welcome All Road to make a left onto Ben Hill Road. Traffic had backed up from the light and a portion of the bus was still on the tracks when the train crashed into it, according to MARTA officials.
The bus was hit once, spun around and was hit again, MARTA officials said.
Surveillance video from inside and outside the bus shows several different angles of the crash.

It’s not like we’ve never heard stories about racism at Harvard before but are you surprised to learn that Asians feel the school has unfair admissions policies?
According to Wall Street Journal reports:
A complaint Friday alleged that Harvard University discriminates against Asian-American applicants by setting a higher bar for admissions than that faced by other groups.
The complaint, filed by a coalition of 64 organizations, says the university has set quotas to keep the numbers of Asian-American students significantly lower than the quality of their applications merits. It cites third-party academic research on the SAT exam showing that Asian-Americans have to score on average about 140 points higher than white students, 270 points higher than Hispanic students and 450 points higher than African-American students to equal their chances of gaining admission to Harvard. The exam is scored on a 2400-point scale.
The complaint was filed with the U.S. Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights.
“Many studies have indicated that Harvard University has been engaged in systemic and continuous discrimination against Asian-Americans during its very subjective ‘Holistic’ college admissions process,” the complaint alleges.
The coalition is seeking a federal investigation and is requesting Harvard “immediately cease and desist from using stereotypes, racial biases and other discriminatory means in evaluating Asian-American applicants.”
Robert Iuliano, Harvard’s general counsel, said the school’s admissions policies are “fully compliant with the law.” The school says its admissions process takes into account a variety of factors besides academics, including applicants’ extracurricular activities and leadership qualities.
“Within its holistic admissions process, and as part of its effort to build a diverse class, Harvard College has demonstrated a strong record of recruiting and admitting Asian American students,” Mr. Iuliano said in a statement. He said the percentage of Asian-American students admitted to the undergraduate school rose to 21% from less than 18% in the past decade.
But the group that filed the complaint said that percentage should be much higher given the increasing numbers of Asian-American students that apply.
The complaint argues that elite schools “that use race-neutral admissions” have far higher Asian-American enrollment than Harvard. At California Institute of Technology, for instance, about 40% of undergraduates are Asian-American, about twice that at Harvard.
The allegations come six months after a group called Students for Fair Admissions argued in a federal lawsuit that Harvard uses preferences to reach specific racial balance on its campuses.

Three bank robberies in 30 minutes? That’s what a 50-year-old woman is accused of after three armed robberies were reported Monday afternoon in the Brandon area.

Cindy Carabeo of Valrico is charged with three counts of armed bank robbery.
These are the suspected robberies. In each case she presented a written note claiming to have a firearm and demanding cash, which she got before fleeing:
— At 3:19 p.m., the BB&T Bank, 655 Brandon Blvd.
— At 3:35 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank, 204 S. Kings Ave.
— At 3:43 p.m., the Florida Central Credit Union, 334 Oakfield Drive.
Detectives collected information to identify the tag number registered to a four-door, 2004 Suzuki owned by Carabeo, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
She then pulled into her apartment complex as several deputies, a K9 deputy and detectives were searching the area. She was immediately apprehended.

Shakedown artist Al Sharpton’s eldest child wants $5 million from city taxpayers after she fell in the street and sprained her ankle, court records show.

Dominique Sharpton, 28, says she was “severely injured, bruised and wounded” when she stumbled over uneven pavement at the corner of Broome Street and Broadway downtown last year, according to a lawsuit.
Currently on vacation in Bali, the membership director for her gadfly dad’s National Action Network claims she “still suffers and will continue to suffer for some time physical pain and bodily injuries,” according to the suit filed against the city departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection.
“I sprained my ankle real bad lol,” she wrote in a post to Instagram after the Oct. 2 fall.
She was pictured in a walking boot in the weeks following the tumble, but by December, Dominique was good to go for NAN’s Justice for All march in Washington, DC, and for a New Year’s Eve jaunt to Miami Beach.
And despite claiming “permanent physical pain” in a breathless notice of claim in December, at around the same time there were social-media shots of her in high heels and fancy dresses and climbing a ladder to decorate a Christmas tree.
The legal shakedown is right out of her dad’s pay-to-playbook.
Al Sharpton has used threats of protests and boycotts against large companies as a way to generate huge corporate donations, his critics charge.
Everyone from McDonald’s, Verizon, Macy’s, General Motors, Chrysler and Pfizer have forked over cash to the elder Sharpton.

EL PASO, Texas – An active-duty Fort Bliss soldier self-reported for a two day DWI sentence at the El Paso County Jail in 2012 but died before he saw the light of day or his family again.In July 2012, KFOX14 anchor Erika Castillo reported on the story of the mysterious circumstances surrounded the death of Sgt. James Brown while he was in jail.
KFOX14 fought all the way to the Texas attorney general to obtain the video to learn what happened to Brown before dying.
The graphic video obtained shows the moments before the death of Brown.

While her husband was promoting Tidal at his concert, Beyonce and her BeyGood charity recently visited Haiti to see the progress since the devastating 2010 earthquake.
Pop queen Beyonce has paid a visit to Haiti to look at the progress made since an earthquake devastated the country five years ago.
Haiti U.N. mission spokeswoman Sophie Boutaud de la Combe said Saturday that Beyonce also was able to “meet some of the people who were affected by” by the 2010 disaster in the impoverished Caribbean country.
De la Combe said the American singer, a 20-time Grammy winner, visited Haiti with Valerie Amos, the United Nations’ humanitarian affairs chief and emergency relief coordinator.
Photos taken during her Haiti visit show Beyonce wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the name of her charity organization.
It wasn’t immediately clear how long Beyonce’s stop in Haiti was or exactly where she visited.
Official estimates say the 2010 quake that shattered Haiti’s capital and surrounding areas claimed as many as 300,000 lives.

As officers argue that unarmed Natasha McKenna died from “excited delirium” more questions are being asked about what really happened to the Virginia woman who was fatally tased.
McKenna who was 5’3 130 pounds and mentally ill, was handcuffed and shackled when she was shot four times with a stun gun in February.
She also allegedly had a mask over her face and her last words were “You promised you wouldn’t hurt me,” as six officers left her permanently incapacitated for not bending her knees to be strapped into a chair.

IT’S BEEN more than three months since a mentally ill woman, Natasha McKenna, died after she was shot four times with a Taser stun gun by a guard in the Fairfax County jail.
Since her death on Feb. 8, county officials have offered repeated assurances that a full investigation is underway, and that the facts surrounding the guards’ struggle with Ms. McKenna — which was recorded in full on video — will be laid bare.
To date, however, it’s remarkable how little discernible progress authorities have made in providing an accounting of the circumstances leading to her death.
A new report by Human Rights Watch — “Callous and Cruel: Use of Force against Inmates with Mental Disabilities in U.S. Jails and Prisons” — documents the routine brutality exercised by guards who are untrained and ill-equipped to deal with mentally ill people, who make up enormous proportions of jail and prison populations.
Jail and prison staff use “force in the absence of any emergency, and without first making serious attempts to secure the inmate’s compliance through other means,” according to the report, which details cases similar to Ms. McKenna’s, which unfolded when she resisted the guards’ attempts to remove her from her cell.
In Ms. McKenna’s case, she had already been fully restrained — her hands and feet shackled — when a guard, frustrated that she would not bend her knees to be strapped into a chair, shot her repeatedly with his Taser.
Ms. McKenna was not physically imposing.
At the time she was shocked, she posed no threat to the guards, nor was there any risk she could flee. Taser’s user manual warns several times that repeated use of the weapon against a subject “could increase the risk of death or serious injury.”
Despite that, she was shot three times in the weapon’s “drive-stun” mode, which the manual says is “for pain compliance only.” And she was shot once with the weapon’s electrical prongs, designed to incapacitate a subject.
Ms. McKenna was incapacitated — permanently. She never regained consciousness after the struggle in the jail on Feb. 3 and died five days later.
This news is absolutely terrible. There’s no way Natasha “crazied herself” to death, this was FAR from an accident.
By now, it’s clear that senior prom will never be the same after evolving into the most extravagant formal affair on Planet Earth.
