Dear Bossip,

I’m faced with a dilemma and my conscious is eating at me.

A couple of years ago I moved to a new city, and when I first came out here I didn’t really know anybody. Well, finally one of the few associates I did know felt it was time for me to hit the town and get to know some people.

So, one weekend we attended a get together and I was introduced to a few guys and girls. As the night went on I was told this one guy in particular was feeling me. I played it cool and thought okay, I’ll get his number before I leave. Well, it wasn’t long before his girlfriend showed up (Yes, his girlfriend).

This girl was all over the place. I was introduced to other females that night who were pretty cool, but you could see this girl was a mess, and by the way people side eyed her they knew it too. She was loud and obviously drunk, but nonetheless I was introduced to her. It was one of those quick smile, “Hi, how are you” introductions.

I kept cautious because ole girl seemed a little rough around the edges, and lawd, was I right! By the end of the night she and the dude (her boyfriend) ended up getting into a big spat where she put on a show in the front yard. She even put hands on him scratching up his face. He ended up having to flee the get together to diffuse the issue and the party came to an end. But, it wasn’t long before the person I was with got a phone call asking us to come chill across town and continue the night drama free.

When we arrived it was a few familiar faces I was introduced to earlier and some new. I saw the guy with the girlfriend issues and he approached me apologizing for the “BS” and he claimed she was just a young chick who he was dealing with. Waving her off he said he wanted to know what was up with me though. So, we chit-chatted and ended up retiring to a back room for more “private convo.”

Now, let me say at this point I haven’t had an encounter of the sexual kind in months, and you know with me not knowing anyone and being in a new town and what not. So, as we talked and things escalated it became physical and that night we ended up having sex. After that we kept in contact and he would even look out for me financially, even though we only had sexual relations one time after that night.

Almost a year goes by and while I’m out partying with a home girl I bump into his girlfriend again, who just so happened to know the chick I was with. It was kind of awkward, but at the same time I didn’t care that I screwed her man because I owed her nothing. I didn’t know her, plus, he and I almost never see each other.

I was surprised to learn though they were still together, and I can’t even explain how awkward it was when she called him over to reintroduce us asking if he remembered me! All I could think was, “Oh, trust, he remembers me.” As time passed, I found me and her in each other’s company more and more popping up at the same clubs and knowing the same people. She and I actually began to get cool.

We chilled out more and more and became home girls ourselves. She even looked out for me in a time of need and we became kind of close. When I first met her and seeing her behavior the first thing I thought was, “bird,” and the second was, “ratchet.” But, getting to know her she’s actually pretty decent, as long as she doesn’t turn up too much! I kind of really like the girl, AND NO, me and her man haven’t been together since me and her have been friends. In fact, it’s been a little over a year now since me and him hung out.

I don’t wanna tell her because part of me knows that will be the end of our friendship. To add to the drama she found out she was pregnant a little while ago and that makes things a little more crazy. He knows we hang out and I get the vibe he doesn’t like the idea at all, but he has yet to say anything to me and that’s fine. I rather keep me and her friendship over what me and him had anyway. But, at times, when she confides in me and tells me their problems it’s weird. It’s a little uncomfortable especially when she tells me about his cheating and messing with other chicks.

I don’t even give advice because I feel it’s not my place to talk! I just listen and sympathize, but ugh! I don’t know if to tell her about what me and him had (which was really nothing), or leave it alone, or just wait to burn in hell. LOL! I mean, I know I’m not an angel in the situation, but I slept with him before I knew her, or felt like I owed her anything. I haven’t been with him in a while, but I just don’t know how to move on with this situation especially since I see me and home girl getting closer. Am I wrong? – I Slept With Her Man

Dear Ms. I Slept With Her Man,

SMDH! You are the one who got played. And, you got a lot of nerve calling her a bird and ratchet. You are the bird, and you’re ratchet.

You are new in town, go to a party and someone tells you that this guy wants to meet you, but his girlfriend shows up and she’s wilding out, and they get into a fight, however, you end up at another party the same night and run into the same guy, and he explains she’s a young girl he’s dealing with, but he wants to kick it with you. So, you go into a back room for more “intimate conversation,” and because you hadn’t had any sex in a while you end up having sex with him that night.

I’m sorry, who is the bird? And, who is ratchet? You saw them fighting at a party, and you knew he had a girl, so why would you get involved with him? What private or intimate conversation did you need to have with him and felt the need to go to a back room? Obviously they have some history, or something serious going on if she felt the need to confront him at the party and then put hands on him (which I don’t condone). But, something else was going on, and you are not privy to it, therefore, you should have politely told him, “Sorry, I don’t get involve with drama. I don’t get involve with men who have girlfriends, especially dangerous and violate girlfriends.”

But, he played you, and gave you some bull-ish line about her only in order to get what he wanted from you. And, he got it. You were an easy lay, who gave it up on the first night. And, he screwed you again, gave you money, which you took because that’s what prostitutes do. Oh, I’m sorry, why are you screwing a guy and taking money from him? Please don’t tell me that you were pimping him, and using him. You knew when you slept with him and took his money that he had a girlfriend, but you continued to do so. What caused you to stop, I don’t know, but you were in the wrong regardless if you knew her or not. Why sleep with a man who had a girlfriend? Let me rephrase it better for you because I know it isn’t clear enough for you – Why would you knowingly sleep with a man and you know he has a girlfriend?

So, now, here we are and you’ve developed a friendship with his girlfriend, and you’re calling yourselves home girls. Well, since you called her a bird and ratchet, and she has tendencies to fight and be volatile with her boyfriend, then, this leads me to the conclusion that the saying must be true, “Birds of a feather flock together.” And, then you have the nerve to sit up here and say that she helped you out in a time of need and you became close.

Now, let’s back up a few sentences where you said that when you started bumping into her at clubs and you two started hanging out, however, you didn’t care that you screwed her man because you owed her nothing, and you and her man almost never see each other. Yet, when you needed something she was the one who helped you out. Therefore, you were comfortable enough to accept her assistance and help, from this same bird and this same ratchet woman, but you slept with her man, took his money, and you don’t feel you owe her anything because, well, you and she were not close at the time when you slept with her man. Oh, okay. SMDH!

You are not a friend. She is not your home girl. And, I don’t think you should pursue this friendship with her. She is pouring her heart out to you about her man and his cheating ways, and now she’s pregnant by him, and you’re acting like you’re really concerned about her, but you were one of the women he cheated with. Then, you are bragging that you keep your friendship with his girlfriend over his head as a way to have something over what you and he had, especially since you get the vibe that he doesn’t like the two of you hanging out. Again, tell me who is the bird and who is ratchet?

If you were really concerned about your budding and developing friendship with his girlfriend, and you really liked her, then why are you plotting and conniving and using your friendship with her over him? All of a sudden you have an allegiance to her? What happened when you didn’t care or felt you didn’t owe her anything? You are not her friend. Stop lying to yourself and to her. You are only using her. You like her drama and her ratchet life because you are drama and you are ratchet.

Do you tell her, no! But, she is going to find out eventually. Someone else will tell her. Whatever is done in the dark will always come to the light. But, I do recommend that you do not get any closer with her, and that you start the process of hanging out less and less with her. You’re not really interested in being her friend. She is someone to gossip and get all the drama and street dirt that you thrive for and need. So, when she calls stop taking her calls. Make up some excuse that your job has asked you to work more hours. You can’t hang out on the weekends because you got other things to do. When she brings up her boyfriend in the conversation change the topic, or get off the phone. Or, tell her that you don’t want to talk about her relationship. But, getting close with her will only be more damaging, because once she learns you slept with her man and he gave you money, she is not going to be a very happy person and she will turn on you. – Terrance Dean

The Hollywood Reporter just confirmed that we’ll be seeing Ms. Washington take off the white hat for her new role in an HBO film about Anita Hill. Kerry will star as Anita Hill and executive produce the TV movie. The film, called Confirmation, is being promoted as a tele pic that will detail the salacious 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearing of Clarence Thomas. You may remember Hill famously testified during those hearings.

Rosario Dawson Smoking Hot In O, The Oprah Magazine Havana-Themed Spread

Rosario Dawson embraces her heritage and flaunts her beauty in an exotic Cuban-inspired fashion spread in the April issue of O, The Oprah Magazine.

The 35-year-old actress donned mixed prints, boho beaded necklaces and a stunning white feather skirt while paying homage to her Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican, Irish and Native American roots during the playful Havana Nights-themed photoshoot.

‘My grandmother had a really great way with mixing patterns and colors,’ Dawson said of her family’s sense of style. ‘It all looked so good with her beautiful white hair and dark skin.’

One photo shows the actress modeling a strapless floral top and a glamorous feathered skirt by former Project Runway star Christian Siriano as she casually lounges on regal sofa.

‘This skirt is like a cloud of shredded coconut,’ she said. ‘It’s very luxurious and dramatic at the same time.’

Another captures her outside, holding on to a rustic door as she stares into the blue sky and seductively lifts up her patterned A-line skirt.

In addition to the eclectic styling, Rosario was also thrilled with inspiration behind the spread.

‘I love the whole “Havana Nights” theme of the shoot,’ she said. ‘I had great old Spanish music playing on my iPod.’

She added: ‘It was a mix from Mathew Schreyer – he’s a DJ and my ex-boyfriend, and he’s got good taste.’

We can’t seem to decide whether this is our favorite pic or not.

NYPD Edits Wikipedia History Of Black Police Brutality Victims

The NYPD had rightfully been under intense scrutiny over the past decade and now someone on their police force has given then public yet another reason to be highly suspicious.

Members of the New York Police Department have been caught editing the Wikipedia pages of police brutality victims.

Computers being used inside police headquarters at 1 Police Plaza changed the entries of Sean Bell, an unarmed man shot dead in 2006; Amadou Diallo, who was shot dead when police mistook his wallet for a gun in 1999; and Eric Garner, the Staten Island man killed last July in a police chokehold.

The Garner entry seems to have been edited the most, with numerous changes made on the page.

‘Garner raised both his arms in the air’ was edited to say ‘Garner flailed his arms about as he spoke’ and ‘Use of the chokehold has been prohibited’ became ‘Use of the chokehold is legal, but has been prohibited.’ A sentence was also added to say that Garner was bigger than the officers on the scene.

As for Bell, who was shot dead on November 25, 2006 by undercover officers at his bachelor party the night before his wedding despite being unarmed, his entry was not only edited but there was also an attempt to have it removed completely.

On the Articles for deletion page, someone from the department wrote, ‘He [Bell] was in the news for about two months, and now no one except Al Sharpton cares anymore. The police shoot people every day, and times with a lot more than 50 bullets. This incident is more news than notable.’

The entry was not removed.

These police departments just seem to keep taking 10 steps backward for every two steps forward. SMH.

Man Removed From Louisiana Courtroom For Smearing Feces On His Face

This is pretty disgusting.

According to New Orleans Advocate reports:

A man charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of a Terrytown woman smeared feces on his face Thursday morning during a status hearing in 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna.

Bryan Schwartz, 27, of Henderson, Kentucky, apparently got a handful of his own feces while in court just before 10 a.m. and began rubbing it on his face. One person said he could be heard at one point saying, “Life is like a box of chocolates,” a line from the movie “Forrest Gump.”

Schwartz was quickly escorted out of Judge Henry Sullivan’s courtroom.

It is not clear whether Schwartz is mentally ill or wanted to appear mentally ill, or what kind of punishment he could incur for his actions.

Schwartz and co-defendant Misty Eiermann, 34, are accused of beating Eiermann’s mother to death in Terrytown in September. They also are accused of obstruction of justice and burglary.

We’re gonna take a wild guess and say he is looking to use an insanity defense.

Sean Hannity’s Combative Interview With Ferguson Protester Ivory Ned

Sean Hannity interviewed a Ferguson protestor Thursday, and perhaps unsurprisingly, it didn’t go too well.

The Fox News host spoke with Ivory Ned as he demonstrated with a crowd in front of the police station where two officers were shot just past midnight Thursday.

Ned explained the shooting as a reaction to Michael Brown’s death: “[Brown’s shooting] was the first action that happened. Then you have a reaction what happened. I’m not saying it was right.”

Hannity wasn’t having it.

“No, Ivory, you should be saying it’s wrong,” Hannity replied, adding that witnesses testified that Brown charged at Officer Darren Wilson. “I think the story here is, you shouldn’t act that way, and people shouldn’t be shooting cops. I don’t hear you saying that, why not?”

According to NY Daily News reports Jennings will soon star in her own TV series:

Jennings is not only an author and spokesperson — she also will be starring in her own docu-series on TLC about her day-to-day life called, “All That Jazz.”

“We know that families come in all shapes and sizes, but at their core, they are all about love, acceptance and support,” the president of TLC said in a statement about the new show. “Only TLC can tell this family’s story in a way that celebrates and demystifies differences in an effort to help create a world without prejudice.”

OITNB Releases Sing-Song Promo Video With New Cast Member

“Orange Is The New Black” fans still have a few months to go until Season 3 hits Netflix, but the streaming service released a quasi-music video in support of the new episodes on Friday. It shows a first look at new cast member, Ruby Rose, in her full Litchfield garb. You can see her at the 10-second mark

The song is their version of “Don’t Talk To Me” by Tre Coast ft. Lycia Faith and is inspired by Leanne’s (Emma Myles) “Stop, Don’t Talk To Me” seen in “OITNB” Season 2, according to Netflix’s description.

Rose was first confirmed to appear in Season 3 back in January. BuzzFeed reported that she would play Stella Carlin, “an inmate at Litchfield Federal Correctional Institution whose sarcastic sense of humor and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield’s inmates.” An ELLE feature also revealed that the 28-year-old would become a “lust object” of both Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon).

A Mississippi man shot the owners of a house where he was living in and their children, killing the father and nine-year-old daughter as well as critically wounding the mother and two other children Friday, police said.

The mother and her two children crossed a busy two-lane highway to plead for help from neighbors who were awakened by loud knocking on their door.

“It was like out of a horror movie,” said Donna Davis, 39. “I still see that little girl’s face in my mind.”

Jermaine Sims, 31, and the nine-year-old daughter died later Friday morning. His 29-year-old wife, Victoria, and their 6-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter survived the shooting but were in critical condition, Captain Clint Earls said.

Jimmy Lyons is accused of shooting the family, Earls said. He said the 32-year-old man and Sims got into an argument but did not know what about.

“The only thing we are waiting on is getting some of the victims in well-enough health to where they can shed some light on what caused the incident to erupt,” Earls said.

Lyons faces two counts of murder and three of aggravated assault.

The shootings took place south of downtown Brookhaven

Donna and John Davis and their 10-year-old daughter, Heaven, live in a white-and-beige trailer home across the highway and about 100 yards away from the Sims’ brown, wood-frame home. John Davis’ mother, Linda Davis, lives next door in a small cream-colored house.

Police said a call about 12:20 a.m. brought them to the Davises’ homes, where they found Victoria Sims and two children outside, wounded. Inside the Sims’ home they found Lyons, who was not injured, and Jermaine Sims and the 9-year-old.

The Davises said they often saw the children getting on and off the school bus or riding bicycles in the yard, but did not know their neighbors.

Donna Davis said that when she answered the door, someone kept saying “we’ve been hit.” Davis said there was so much blood, that she thought they had been hit by a car.

“The little boy, he was half under the porch like he was trying to hide from someone. He was screaming for help,” she said, pointing to the rickety-looking wooden steps leading to the trailer door.

At one point, Linda Davis said, he reached up to his face and said, “Oh, half my ear is gone.”

John Davis said the boy’s wounds included cuts on his face, as if he’d been attacked with a knife.

Donna Davis said that, while they waited for an ambulance, she hugged the girl to keep her warm.

“She kept saying, ‘I want my mama,'” Donna Davis said.

Kim Kardashian Slammed For Not Being A Sensible Parent

Since the birth of her daughter North two years ago Kim Kardashian has come under constant scrutiny and criticism for her parenting skills, or lack therof.

Now one parenting expert is speaking out the latest wrongdoing on Kim’s part!

According to RadarOnline reports:

Is Kim a bad mom? After Kardashian shared a photo with her baby daughter, North West, wearing a pearl necklace, a top parenting expert spoke out to RadarOnline.com to slam the reality star.

“In my opinion it probably wasn’t the most sensible thing to do because that baby could have swallowed one of the beads or got herself entwined in the thread and caused her to choke,” Alison Edwards, a senior lecturer in Midwifery at Birmingham City University told Radar. “If you’re putting your baby in harm’s way, that isn’t sensible.”

“Kim is being so irresponsible as a parent,” Edwards said.

Edwards, who has not worked with Kim, said she is “treating her child like an accessory baby.”

“She clearly loves her child. I don’t think that is a question,” Edwards told Radar. “And she’s entitled to bring her child up how she wants to.”

But Edwards said Kardashian has a responsibility to set a good example: “She’s such a key figure in the celebrity world that people will try and emulate what she does and that may not be so sensible.”

“You have to have a genuine reason to want to have a baby,” Edwards explained. “They are more than just an accessory because a baby is a lifetime commitment. A baby is going to require your help and support for the rest of her life.”
