Officer Of The Year Admits To Raping Immigrant Men

A former Florida police officer has admitted to forcing undocumented immigrants into having sex with him.

Jonathan Bleiweiss, 34, pleaded guilty to an array of charges last week, admitting to 14 counts of armed false imprisonment, 15 counts of battery and four counts of stalking. However, he avoided all of the charges with “sex” in them.

Most likely due to his police officer status, this former Broward Sheriff’s deputy was given an insultingly lenient plea deal. As part of that deal, Bleiweiss did not face charges of sexual battery, and as such will not be required by the state of Florida to register as a sex offender.

A group of approximately 20 undocumented immigrants alleged that Bleiweiss, harassed them, molested them during pat-downs, and threatened them with deportation if they refused to perform sex acts.

Eerily enough, just after this officer was named Employee of the Year for his district, Bleiweiss told the South Florida Blade newspaper that early in his career one of his supervisors taunted him by calling him “sex offender,” for being openly gay.

However, the label, now fitting, will not be applied. Bleiweiss was sentenced to five years in jail and ten years of probation but avoided the sex offender designation altogether.

Undocumented immigrant workers are often targeted by unscrupulous individuals as they have very little recourse when trying to report crimes committed against them, because of their “illegal” status. Bleiweiss likely chose this vulnerable group of people to violate and abuse, for this reason.

In the end, Bleiweiss was charged with arbitrary battery charges relating to patdowns he conducted while on duty; nothing else.

Broward Public Defender Howard Finkelstein called the outcome, “shocking and shameful to the whole county.”

The Sun-Sentinel reported on another contrasting case that played out in court on the same day as Bleiweiss’ deal. Eric Beasley, 25, a former high school teacher from Broward, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting to having a sexual relationship with an underage student, a 14-year-old girl.

Both men obviously abused their positions of authority, and both men victimized underage teens. But only one of them did it to multiple victims. Only one of them carries a badge and a gun and throws people in prison for the same crimes he committed. And, only one of them was able to get special privileges for their depravity. The cop.

The original investigation began in April of 2009 after multiple complaints were brought against Bleiweiss. However, he was allowed to stay on the job for several months after. During those several months, Bleiweiss racked up more victims, including the underage teen.

Student Behind ‘Laser Cat’ Photo Commits Suicide

Remember the kid who fought to have his 80s style picture with his cat included in his high school yearbook??? That boy, 17-year-old Draven Rodriguez, has committed suicide.

The Daily Gazette reports:

Schenectady High School senior Draven Rodriguez, whose fearless creativity earned him international fame last year, took his own life Thursday evening, according to multiple authorities familiar with his death.

Rodriguez, the teenager responsible for the laser-cat yearbook photo that became an Internet sensation in the fall, committed suicide in his home, authorities said. He was 17.

Rodriguez’s mother, Melissa Petersen, and stepfather, Jonathan Stewart, gathered with family at the residence Friday. They declined to be interviewed by a Gazette reporter.

The humble, well-liked Rodriguez was featured by media outlets including The Huffington Post, BuzzFeed and USA Today — and was even mentioned on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” — after he petitioned to have his senior yearbook photo feature himself and his cat, Mr. Bigglesworth, against a backdrop of lasers.

The picture, taken by Vincent Giordano, featured a smiling Rodriguez clutching Mr. Bigglesworth, with bright lasers and a faded image of the cat’s face looking off into the distance in the background. He first posted the image on his Instagram page.

“I don’t want to go in the yearbook with the generic ‘I-look-like-everyone-else’ photo,” he told The Daily Gazette in early September, after the photo went viral. “I wanted a ‘He looks great. Only he would try that’ photo.

“When people look at it, they will know that was me.”

Poor thing.

How AIDS Truly Started

Do you where AIDS truly came from? As New York Post reports, In Randy Shilts’ history of AIDS, “And the Band Played On,” Air Canada steward named Gaëtan Dugas is pinpointed as the first case of then-named “gay cancer,” and blamed for bringing the virus to the US and infecting 40 people or more with HIV.

While there’s no doubt that Dugas helped spread the virus, new data shows that he was by no means the first case. In fact, HIV had already been around for nearly 75 years and likely already in the US for about 10 years, going virtually unnoticed due to its extreme rarity and doctors’ inability to identify what the issue was. As author David Quammen reveals in his new book “The Chimp and the River: How AIDS Emerged from an African Rain Forest:”

“Dugas himself was infected by some other human, presumably during a sexual encounter — and not in Africa . . . somewhere closer to home.”

“As evidence now shows, HIV had already arrived in North America when Gaëtan ­Dugas was a virginal adolescent.”

And to the urban legends that HIV came from sexual contact between a human and a chimp — that’s not true either. The disease DID originate in simian blood, however the spread from chimp to human was much more organic:

“AIDS began with a spillover from one chimp to one human, in or near a small southeastern wedge of Cameroon, around 1908.” Quammen writes. The most likely way it jumped species was through a person Quammen calls the “Cut Hunter” — a man who hunted and butchered a chimpanzee infected with simian immunodeficiency virus and was wounded in the process. The chimp’s blood mingled with his through the cuts in his skin.

From there, the virus spread from person to person one at a time in low numbers, very slowly and unnoticed due to high mortality rates and frequent death by disease. The virus spread much faster mid-century when French-speaking Haitian colonials, placed there by Belgium, introduced re-usable syringes to the Congo while treating ailments.

Long story short, the disease went from the Congo to Haiti after the Belgian government fell and medics returned home, soon spreading to America after more syringe-sharing, blood-donation, and sexual contact between Americans and Haitians occurred:

“It reached hemophiliacs through the blood supply. It reached drug addicts through shared needles. It reached gay men… by sexual transmission, possibly from an initial contact between two males, an American and a Haitian.”

Interesting stuff, right? But while we’re figuring out where it all started…can we get them to figure out how to end it??

Should Black People Watch The 2015 Oscars???

It’s no secret that the 2015 Academy Awards are incredibly whitewashed this year, so much so that the program is the least diverse it’s been since 1998.

And with that in mind, the Twitterverse has been buzzing for weeks with a call to action. Much like a plethora of people did on Black Friday, a gaggle of folks are boycotting with hopes to make the academy see that lack of spotlight on black artistry is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.

Headed by April Reign (@ReignOfApril) who created the #OscarsSoWhite hash tag, Reign is using Twitter as a digital megaphone to coach people in 140 characters or less on why they should be absolutely appalled by this year’s awards show.

Take that (apologist azz) Cheryl Boone Issacs!

So should you tune in???

On one hand you could watch to see “Selma” director Ava Duvernay who along with her cast was 100% snubbed by the Academy (fawk your “Best Picture” and “Best Original Song” nods) and is graciously taking the whole thing in stride.

Or you could take a more militant approach, say screw it and go (kinda sorta) pro-black with your programming tonight.

BET is airing the seriously good miniseries “The Book Of Negroes” as we speak (yay!) and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and their positive imagery of black womanhood airs tonight on Bravo (boo!).

Or you could just do something else all together.

Nick Gordon Twitter Rant

Nick Gordon recently went on a leeeeeengthy Twitter rant about the ongoing drama between him and the Browns as his girlfriend remains in a medically induced coma.

As previously reported Gordon publicly pleaded with Bobby Brown to let him visit Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and showed off ink of her name on his arm.

Now apparently Nick’s gotten new ink—a tattoo of his “mother” Whitney Houston…

and he’s clapping back at Bobby for banning him from being with his boo as she continues to recover.

He also blasted Bobby for not being in Bobbi Krissy’s life before she fell ill and accused him of being there for publicity.

Lupita Nyong’o Ready To Date Jared Leto

Jared Leto has made no secret about how sprung he is over Luptia Nyong’o. He can’t seem to keep his eyes (or hands) off of her every time the two are in the same room. Lupita was in a relationship for most of last year, so she was always kept things friendly despite all his flirtation — but now that she’s newly single, Lupita is ready for Jared to man up and lock her down.

Apparently, she’s tired of Jared gushing over how gorgeous she is and hugging up all over her at awards parties but never actually making a move. As a source close with the starlet shared with HollywoodLife:

“Lupita is totally up for a romance with Jared!”

“She and her boyfriend K’naan split months ago and she’s definitely ready for a relationship with the right guy. She likes Jared…problem is that although Jared loves to flirt he doesn’t seem interested in taking it further than that. When they see each other Jared is so incredibly flirty always touching her and telling her how gorgeous she is. He even talks about taking her out but so far he hasn’t followed through.”

“He says he’ll call, but then weeks and months go by before they see each other at another awards show.”

Jared stays all over Lupita in public, so one would think that it’d be no problem for him to go on and officially put his bid in. He better man up before someone else swoops in and leaves him in the friend-zone dust!

Mother Beats And Publicly Shames Daughter With T-Shirt After Poor Grades

30-year-old Melany Joyce Alexander reportedly “whooped” her daughter at their home in Brooksville, Florida, after finding out the young girl had earned multiple F’s in her classes at West Hernando Middle School.

Alexander reportedly beat her daughter with what her police affidavit described as a ‘leather belt with holes with metal divots’, leaving the middle-school student with ‘impressions in several places’, including her arms, neck, chest, back and legs.

Alexander took things a step further, publicly shaming her daughter by writing a message about her poor grades to all the girl’s friends and potential dating partners on a t-shirt which she forced her to wear to school the next day. It read:

I currently have all F’s in all of my classes. I am not aloud to have a boyfriend no time soon. So back off before I get another good woopin like I got last night (sic).

Also I can no longer have ANY friends until ALL of my F’s are ALL brought up to C’s and up! So unless you are helping me with this goal… back off! My eating french fries & being a social butterfly is over because I know why my parents send me to school. I now know the importance of my education.

I will learn. I will listen to my teachers and be respectful, at all times. I will do these things because I am failing… due to my social life. Want to be my friend. Help me by NOT!

Judging from the spelling and grammar on that t-shirt, it doesn’t look like the mother would fare too well in an English class herself.

When school officials saw the young lady come into school wearing the shirt and with noticeable bruises all over her arms, they immediately got her a new top to wear and called authorities. Police interviewed Alenxander at her home, and after initially being uncooperative, she finally admitted to beating her daughter with a belt and was arrested. She is currently being held without bond.

British Women Find ISIS-Affiliated Husbands Through Online Dating Site

Eight British teen girls have run away to Syria to marry ISIS fighters in the last 7 months. What originally seemed random and strange has now bee revealed to be part of a “jihadi bride-trail,” funnelling in impressionable young Muslim women from Europe to become the wives of extremists in Syria via online dating. Apparently hundreds more have proposed marriage to extremists and ISIS fighters through these services.

Radical websites like Jihad Matchmaker, which offers to arrange marriages between Muslim women and Jihadists, have been blamed for encouraging young, impressionable girls to travel to Syria.

Hundreds of besotted British women have put marriage proposals to jihadists fighting on the front line with Islamic State, according to security sources.

One European fighter in Syria who has become a pin-up jihadi fighter has been bombarded with proposals from women all over the world, desperate to be associated with a ‘holy warrior’.

Jihad Matchmaker, which states it is based in Syria, uses the motto ‘keep it halal and get married.’
Its official Twitter account says: ‘Jihad Matchmaker is here to link up those seeking marriage in Syria in a halal manner.’

It is not known how many jihadi brides it has matched to jihadi fighters but it has 378 followers, many of whom are young Western Muslim women. Last year it was forced to deny it was linked to any terrorist groups after it was alleged to been responsible for helping to radicalize teenage girls in the UK.

It encourages Muslim women seeking a jihadi husband to make contact through a third party or agent who can represent the girl’s interests under Islamic law.

So strange! Why can’t the jihadi extremists find wives in their own country…and WHY are these young women so fascinated with leaving their entire family and life behind to marry strangers in a war-torn nation?

Michael Sam Signs On For “Dancing With The Stars”

When life hands you lemons, like getting fired from the NFL over your sexual orientation, you make lemonade however you can squeeze it.

Now infamous for being the first openly gay NFL player during a short-lived pro-ball career, Michael Sam has put his popularity to use to keep checks coming in for himself and his husband-to-be. He just signed on for Season 20 of “Dancing With the Stars.”

The show starts in March, which conflicts with the veteran’s combine — the first-ever draft process for previously cut players which he promised to take part in to win back his spot in the league.

Chris Brown Says He Doesn’t Want To Talk About Drake Or Rihanna Anymore

Chris Brown doesn’t want to answer any more questions about Drake or Rihanna. After days of promo for his new album with Tyga, where both have repeatedly fielded questions about their love lives and mutual disdain for Drake, Breezy is putting his foot down.

He’s already mentioned in each interview how talking about Drake doesn’t make him any additional coins (before doing a pretty hilarious impression of the way the Toronto rapper speaks), and hasn’t hesitated to give his two cents on Rihanna’ current dating situation.

But he took to Twitter today to mention both of them one last time and let everyone know he wouldn’t be speaking on them any further.

In True Breezy fashion, he deleted the name-dropping Tweet (probably realizing that he would DEFINITELY be asked about it on his current promo-run) shortly after following it up with this:

Breezy has a right to move on from the past…or at least try. And the Rihanna topic is super dry at this point. But do you think everyone should stop asking him about his Drake issue — even though it’s pretty current??
