Will Smith Says His Relationship With Jada Has Died Before

The Smiths have built a reputation as being one of Hollywood’s most unshakable couples. But Will Smith just admitted that within their 18 years of marriage, thre have been times so rocky that their relationship has pretty much died at points. However, instead of calling it quits, these two just find a new way to make things work.

He explained how he and Jada have rebuilt their relationship time and time again to The Sun:

“Whatever you have is gonna die and you are gonna have to rebirth something new. You have to be willing to ride the waves.”

“There’s gonna be some flat days and some stormy days, and that has to be OK.”

That gives a little more perspective to what Jada said to Net-A-Porter about her view of marriage back in August:

“I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that’s what it’s evolved into. And I’m just ecstatic about it.”

Loni Love Cries While Thanking Co-Hosts For Accepting Weight

Loni Love is typically all jokes and smiles on The Real Daytime, but she stopped wearing her happy face for a few minutes while thanking her -for always making her feel accepted and good about herself despite her weight.

“These ladies make me feel really at home and welcome about my body. They don’t tease me,” she said before breaking into tears. “I don’t feel good about myself sometimes so thank you. The public compares me. They don’t.”

She also had special thanks for the glam squad on the show, for always making sure her outfits and looks are just as on point as the rest of the women.

“It is harder to dress a bigger woman. No matter what anybody wants to say, it’s harder. When you’re not the sample size…When you get into the [size] 20s, it’s hard. But the thing about this show is that we have people that go out, they’re determined, and even the designers like Ralph Lauren Calvin Klein are designing for us.”

Texas High School Basketball Game Marred By Racist Signs And Bus Vandalism

We thought the younger generation was growing up to be more tolerant of others, but it’s not looking that way in Texas…

The drama-filled game between Flower Mound High School and Plano East on Friday went into three overtimes.

But what made social media circles over the weekend happened just beyond the confines of the court. A picture was tweeted out showing a sign being held up Flower Mound’s student section that read “WHITE POWER.”

“We thought it was racist,” said a Plano East student athlete who was at the game and asked not to be identified. “(The sign) said “white power,” and we were shocked.”

Witnesses said the incident happened late in the game. Both student sections were hyped up as the scoring lead switched several times.

But the Plano East athlete remembers a specific moment when it got very raucous in the gym.

“Our student section started pointing at the sign,” the student said. “That’s when it clicked into everyone’s mind… ‘Whoa… what are these guys doing?’ And the teachers came and took the signs down.”

The student reported the signs were held up for 30 seconds. Students described teachers rushing to take the signs down. They also said the sign that read “WHITE” obviously referred to the team’s colors. But many did not believe the “POWER” sign fit in to any school cheers.

Witnesses said racial slurs were also directed at players during the game, especially after a player had been injured.

Seriously? We knew high school sports got competitive but this is just ridiculous.

To make matters worse there are rumors that the Flower Mound fans took things even further by vandalizing the opposing team’s bus in the worst way possible:

There was also Twitter chatter that Flower Mound students defecated and urinated on Plano’s team bus. Neither district could confirm that damage.

Flower Mound’s coach, Eric Littleton, responded on Twitter to the image of the sign: “Unacceptable. As head coach at FMHS I offer our full voice apology. I will pursue this fully. No place for this.”

Lewisville Intermediate School District officials released this statement:

“While it’s an unfortunate occurrence, the district is investigating this and it will be handled internally.”

Selena Gomez knows how hard it is to have a successful relationship in the public eye.

But in the new issue of V Magazine available Feb. 26, the 22-year-old opened up like never before about her past boyfriends, even if she doesn’t name any outright.

“I think the next time [I have a boyfriend] will be much different…which will definitely not be anytime soon,” she shared with James Franco, who conducted the intimate interview. “That’s a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more.”

While she doesn’t address famous ex Justin Bieber by name, a timeline of their relationship definitely matches up with what the actress is revealing.

“When you’re young and you’re being told so many different things…it almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way,” she confessed. “It was really weird but it was incredible.”
She added, “I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?”

Living such a public life, however, did take a toll on the former Disney Channel actress. In fact, living under a microscope eventually caused some “anxiety” for the young star.

“There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn’t leave [my home] as much,” she revealed. “I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit. It was just easier to say, ‘Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up? I don’t want to get photographed.'”

Black Man Sues After St.Louis Cop Turns Off Dashcam Before Brutally Beating Him During Arrest

We’re barely 2 months into 2015 and there’s already been a slew of brutality incidents between black men and police officers across the country.

ST. LOUIS — A man has filed a lawsuit against the city’s police department after a dash cam video showing his arrest was turned off by an officer.

The man arrested, Cortez Bufford, is claiming excessive force.

St. Louis police say they pulled over Bufford and a passenger on April 10, 2014, after his car matched a description to a shots fired call.

Police say they tried to get him out of the car, but he did not comply.

You can hear a man screaming and see a struggle ensue in the police dash cam video. A few officers kick Bufford as he continues to fight back, then an officer uses a taser on him.

They are on the ground for nearly two minutes when you hear an officer say, “we are red right now,” which means the camera is on, and then the camera shuts off.

“Hold up, everybody hold up, we are red right now, so if you guys are worried about the cameras just wait,” the unidentified officer said.

Bufford’s attorney said there was no reason for the police to pull over his client, and no reason for officers to kick him.

Bufford was charged with resisting arrest, along with drug and gun possession, but those charges were later dropped.

Oil Tanker Derails And Explodes In West VA

A train transporting 100 tankers of crude oil derailed in West Virginia, exploding and sending thousands of gallons of oil into the town’s water supply. Via ThinkProgress:

Crude oil is pouring into a river that supplies drinking water and approximately 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes due to an oil train derailment and explosion in southern West Virginia on Monday, according to media reports.

The train, owned by CSX Corp., was carrying more than 100 tankers of crude oil from the Bakken shale in North Dakota when it derailed at about 1:30 p.m., the L.A. Times reported. Officials estimated that approximately 14 of those tankers were involved in the derailment and subsequent fire, which as of 9 p.m. was still raging. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin declared a state of emergency at around 5:40 p.m.

One home has so far been confirmed destroyed, and at least one person has been sent to the hospital for inhaling smoke. CSX put out a statement Monday night saying it would provide hotel rooms for displaced residents.

Concerns have also been raised about the potential contamination of local water-treatment facilities, after officials noted that at least one of the derailed tanker cars fell into the Kanawha River. The area is about 30 miles from the location where 10,000 gallons of a coal industry chemical called crude MCHM spilled and tainted the drinking water supply a little over one year ago.

Response efforts have so far been hampered by heavy snow. The area has been under a winter storm warning, according to the Associated Press, and is expected to get anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of snow tonight.

SMH! Hopefully they can get this situation under control soon…

Oscar Voter Says Selma Was Snubbed Because It Wasn’t Art

Amid all the controversy surrounding the poor showing of civil rights-era biopic “Selma,” which got just two Oscar nominations, one Academy Award voter provided some brand-new drama to the racially charged debate.

In a year in which not a single actor of color notched an acting nomination, the anonymous female Academy member deviated from any politically correct script while revealing her votes to the Hollywood Reporter.

“What no one wants to say out loud is that Selma is a well-crafted movie, but there’s no art to it,” the woman, one of the Academy’s 378-member public relations branch, told the industry trade publication.

“If the movie had been directed by a 60-year-old white male (instead of African-American woman Ava DuVernay), I don’t think that people would have been carrying on about it to the level that they were.”

Conceding that most in the body of voters were older white males, reflecting the makeup of the movie industry, the voter said the demographics didn’t have an effect on the Oscars.

“When a movie about black people is good, members vote for it,” she told the Hollywood Reporter.

“But if the movie isn’t that good, am I supposed to vote for it just because it has black people in it?”

Certainly, race became a factor once the cast and crew of “Selma” weighed in publicly on the controversy over the NYPD’s handling of the arrest of Eric Garner — an illegal chokehold a medical examiner said led to the Staten Islander’s fatal heart-attack.

“I’ve got to tell you, having the cast show up in T-shirts saying ‘I can’t breathe’ (at their New York premiere) — I thought that stuff was offensive.”

Numa Perrier Dishes On “The Couple” & “Octavia: Elegy For A Vampire”

Numa Perrier is a refreshing film maker whose “Black & Sexy TV” series “The Couple” recently caught the eye of HBO execs who couldn’t help but relate to the real life situations of “Chick” and “Dude”; the program’s quirky duo.

In addition to making art behind the scenes, Perrier’s skills extend to acting via online mediums and in”Octavia: Elegy For A Vampire”centered around a woman burdened with everlasting life and haunted by history.

Below Perrier dishes on her beginnings, her role in bringing black humanity to television and her work with director Dennis Leroy Kangalee.

Tell us about your background.

My background is in acting, art and film making. I’ve been working in all three worlds since I was pretty young, more so in the art and film making world as a young adult. I was doing photography around the time Dennis Dortch started doing [the movie] “A Good Day To Be Black & Sexy” and he wanted me to help out with photography and marketing for the film. I started helping doing photo shoots for the merchandising and photographed the movie poster. We had many things in common and one thing lead to another as far as starting Black & Sexy TV. Once we started filming short vignettes on each character, that’s what got our imagination going about what we could do online. We knew there were a lot of fans out there and then we started envisioning and dreaming up an entire world of content.

Tell us about the HBO development deal for”The Couple.”

We’ve been going along building our content show by show, one at at time. We were on the second season of “The Couple” and we got a phone call out of the blue and it was an executive from HBO. She hunted us down and was so excited about the series and she really felt like it reflected her which is funny because she’s an older Jewish woman. She felt a real connection to my character in particular and she invited us to sit down with her about what we could possibly do with HBO. If there’s any network that we wanted to work with, HBO would be number one. We talked about what the show cold be and they moved forward with a development deal.

Why do you think your shows connect with people from various backgrounds?

I think it’s because we’ve really figured out a way to extract humanity instead of caricature. Once you do that, once you make someone human then any human can relate to humanity. We’re so focused on doing something that’s real and stripped down. Everybody goes through real life things. She [the HBO executive] talks to me about her prior relationships and her current relationships and we can sit and talk for hours. We became fast friends. She’s really excited about what we’re doing and she just gets a kick out of it. Everybody has always thought that my costar Desmond [Faison]and I are a real couple. They’ve then been devastated to they find out that I’m actually a real couple with the director [Dennis Dortch]. We’re all very intimate like that. It’s all fun, we all enjoy it and we do it all for the art.

You’re also starring in the film “Octavia: Elegy For A Vampire” directed by Dennis Leroy Kangalee. We don’t see a lot of black films on vampires, what drew you to this project? 

It’s so crazy because I’ve never been a vampire enthusiast, I’ve never seen “Twilighy”, I always found it fascinating but not enough to where I thought it was part of my trajectory. I did however always want to play a timeless character, I’ve always been very suited for period pieces and I’ve had fantasies of doing something from the 80s and doing something colonial or set in the 30s and 40s. I always wanted to play a role where I thought I could really spread my wings and bring a lot of my oddities in myself to the role. I get to do that a little with “The Couple”, I get to be an odd bird. So for this role I became aware with Dennis as an artist and filmmaker [first] through an Indie Wire blog and he wrote something so beautiful and I was really connected to his approach to film making and art. I reached out to him and we had an instant kinship. Through that relationship one thing lead to another and they needed a lead role for this film [so I considered it] because the premise was interesting to me. When they sent the script to me I stayed up all night reading it. It’s a juicy role, but it’s a real role. I look at her [Octavia] as a human being and not a vampire or a supernatural character. He was able to extract the humanity out of this vampire. It’s kind of the role of the lifetime, it feels like it to me.

What’s next for you in 2015? 

With “Black & Sexy TV” we’re launching a subscription service which is a huge thing for our company. People are really eager for it and we’re beefing up our content. It’s great because we’re bringing more people in to help with things and that leaves me more room to do what I love which is acting. I’ll be able to go away to film “Octavia”, there’s a couple of films that I’ll be shooting this year and then I’m always working on my art work. I’ll be doing a few exhibitions this year.

Nekkid Woman Stops Traffic To Fondle Herself In Front Of Police

A nude Florida woman who cops say was on “heavy” drugs Sunday night allegedly stopped traffic to masturbate in front of a couple’s car, then climbed onto the hood.

Amie Carter, 31, then allegedly stomped on the car and threw a cell phone at the vehicle behind it, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Police reportedly found her in an intersection of Fairview Shores, on the outskirts of Orlando, at about 11:15 p.m., walking through the street with no clothes on, the New York Daily News reports. She appeared to be “under the influence of a heavy unknown substance” and “in an altered mental state,” according to a police report.

Carter allegedly put up a fight and kicked her legs in the air when she was arrested, but she was eventually hauled off to a hospital and charged with criminal mischief and exposing her sexual organs. Cops then transferred her to Orange County Jail.

She caused $1,500 in damage to the Lexus that she stomped on, according to WKMG.
