According to NY Daily News reports:

The FBI arrested a 20-year-old Ohio man Wednesday for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Christopher Lee Cornell of Green Township, Ohio, was arrested after months of declaring his dedication to ISIS online and conspiring his terror attack with an undercover FBI informant.

Cornell allegedly planned to detonate pipe bombs in the Capitol building and then open fire on people running from the blast, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court. He is charged with attempting to kill a U.S. government officer and possessing a firearm.

The FBI started monitoring Cornell in August after he started posting videos and tweeting his support for ISIS. He used the online alias Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah and tweeted under the handle @ISBlackFlags. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Twitter account is deactivated.

What a dummy. If y’all don’t already know — Big Brother is DEFINITELY watching social media!

Which coincidentally is where this old yearbook photo of Cornell (who graduated in ’12 and was working a low paying seasonal job at the time of his arrest) is floating around.

The Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested Cornell Wednesday morning after he bought two semiautomatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition from the Point Blank Range and Gun Shop in Colerain Township, Ohio. FBI officers told the store’s employees about Cornell’s plan days beforehand and said they should sell guns to Cornell when he came in, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The criminal complaint says Cornell considered those purchases his “final steps” before the attack.

Cornell’s father, John Cornell, told WKRC-TV his son was a “mama’s boy” and “homebody” who spent most of his time alone and showed a new interest in Islam in recent months.

John Cornell told CNN Christopher visited a mosque the day before his arrest and left a note to say he was leaving home to live with a friend. John said his son also claimed to have recently converted to Islam.

John told CNN he believed Christopher was “coerced into a lot of this” by the FBI. He said Christopher “wouldn’t hurt a fly” and is “a kind, loveable person.”

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram tweeted that sources said the plot was “aspirational” and not considered a serious danger to the public.

Mind you had this kid been Black and they would be tearing his social media apart looking for gang signs, kush references and gold teeth and calling him a thug or hoodlum. SMH!

Meanwhile as “not serious” as folks are trying to play this the kid was running his mouth to the FBI informant claiming his plans had been giving the thumbs up from real terrorists abroad, including Anwar Awlaki (who happens to be dead BTW)

Cornell wrote the informant in August saying, “I believe that we should just wage jihad under our own orders and plan attacks and everything… I believe we should meet up and make our own group in alliance with the Islamic State here and plan operations ourselves.”

He later met up with the informant in October and November in Cincinnati and was “saving up” for the attacks and researching bomb-making. Sounds serious enough for us.

Footage Released Of Police Officers Tasing And Beating Restrained Black Man To Death Following Arrest

The family of a 38-year-old black Louisiana man who was beaten and taesed to death by police in 2013 following an arrest for allegedly “disturbing the peace” says they believe recently released video footage of the incident calls for prosecution of the officers who murdered him.

Surveillance video obtained by 9News Investigators shows the final minutes of an inmate’s life inside the West Baton Rouge Detention Center.

The sheriff’s department claims Ervin Edwards, 38, resisted as officers tried to book him. His family disagrees. After reviewing the video, they believe officers at the jail are responsible for his death.

The surveillance video from inside the West Baton Rouge Detention Center on November 26, 2013 shows Edwards being booked for allegedly disturbing the peace at a gas station. Several officers bring him into a jail cell. On the way there the video shows Edwards’ pants around his ankles, his feet and hands are cuffed. He trips and officers drag him into the room.

Minutes later, the officers transport him to another cell. He falls again. Officers drag him inside, face down, still cuffed. Six officers hold him down. One of them pulls out a taser and puts it on his backside. It appears an officer stepped on Edwards’ back, another on his head. A minute goes by, and it appears Edwards is motionless, apparently still being tased. Officers begin to leave, but one remains and continues to hold the taser on Edwards for almost another minute. Paramedics arrived 20 minutes later. Edwards was pronounced dead.

West Baton Rouge Sheriff Mike Cazes declined a television interview on Friday saying he could not comment on a pending legal matter. But in an interview with 9News on December 3, 2014 he said Edwards repeatedly fought with officers as they tried to book him.

“They gave him a three count demand saying ‘Okay if you don’t cooperate, you will be tased. All three times, ultimately, he used some profanity back toward the policeman and said ‘do what you have to do,” Cazes said.

The video footage of Edwards last moments is below.

So using profanity and saying “do what you have to do”…all while restrained and UNABLE to attack, translates to justification for murder?? What are your thoughts on this case, Bossip fam?

Chris Brown’s Probation Revoked After Nightclub Shooting

Breezy might be heading back to the clink. The judge presiding over his lingering Rihanna domestic violence case is getting more and more concerned about the singer’s behavior after a few shootings popping up while Chris is on stage — most recently at a San Jose nightclub. He thinks Chris isn’t focused on rehabilitation and volunteering and is inadvertently putting others in danger with his constant working and partying.

Chris Brown has had his probation revoked in the Rihanna case, in part because he was present at 2 separate nightclubs when people inside were shot, and officials are worried about more shootings and think Chris should serve time behind bars.

Chris showed up for a progress report Thursday, when the judge told him the probation report presented multiple problems. First, the report mentions the shooting last Sunday in San Jose when Chris was on stage. Five people were injured.

The judge also said the probation report expressed concern over another shooting at 1OAK during VMA weekend last August. Again, Chris was on stage and several people were shot, including Suge Knight.

And the judge said Chris left the county for San Jose without getting the court’s permission, which is a violation of his probation.

As for why the shootings are an issue, they were raised in the probation report. The judge noted so far there’s no evidence Chris was criminally involved, but the probation officer says, “There is also concern that when he performs or attends at some of his public events, people will get shot or seriously injured.”

The violation for leaving the county we understand…although Cali is pretty big and it seems a bit unavoidable. But how can Chris control if shooting pops off during one of his appearances?! Isn’t it the club’s fault for not patting down patrons before they come in?

But it seems the shootings were only secondary “offenses” when it came to this hearing:

The probation officer also notes Chris has been arrested twice while on probation — once for assault in DC and also for throwing a rock at his mom’s car in rehab. And the officer notes Chris was “making comments about knives and guns during a group [rehab] meeting.”

The probation officer — who thinks Chris is focusing too much on his career rather than community service and rehabilitation — recommends to the judge that Chris serve time. The officer says the singer has shown “a pattern of making choices that are counterproductive.”

The judge will hold a formal hearing March 20. If hizzoner determines Chris “willfully” violated probation, he could be in big trouble. The violations are felonies, which means prison is on the line.

Damn homie. Breezy might be a badazz as far as Hollywood-types are concerned, but we REALLY don’t think he’s cut out for real-live prison! He might want to just cool out and have a few quiet evenings at home with Karrueche, that is if they’re on good terms this week…

Duke University officials on Friday cited security concerns as part of the reason for the school’s reversal of its decision to allow a Muslim call to prayer to sound from a campus chapel bell tower.

Neither the North Carolina school nor the local FBI office, which was made aware of the situation at Duke, would specify details of these concerns, but Michael J. Schoenfeld, the university’s vice president of public affairs, said the number and tone of the calls were “pretty loud and nasty.”

“We have heard from a lot of people who have a lot of interesting and important opinions and perspectives on this,” Schoenfeld said.

In a statement Thursday, the school said plans changed because its effort to “unify was not having the intended effect.”

The Duke Muslim Students Association had planned to chant the call, or adhan, from the Duke Chapel bell tower. The adhan signals the beginning of the weekly prayer service. Jummah prayers have taken place in the basement of Duke Chapel for many years.

“Duke remains committed to fostering an inclusive, tolerant and welcoming campus for all of its students,” Schoenfeld said. “I think when you do these kind of things you like to think and you hope that it will be seen by others as you see them as enlightened ways to introduce diversity and the celebration of faith tradition, but unfortunately it doesn’t happen the way you would like it.”

The university’s Imam Abdullah Antepli said that his community was disappointed in the school’s reversal. But he had praise for Duke, calling its offerings to the Muslim community “far more comprehensive than many other universities in the entire U.S.”

So, a bunch ignorant country boys call to spew their bigoted rhetoric and Duke folds like a cheap tent. Got it.

Michael Sam Shares Proposal Pictures On Social Media

With news breaking that the openly-gay player had proposed to his college sweetheart Vito Cammisano last week, Sam confirmed the chatter with pics from their engagement day in Vatican City. He posted photos from the happy occasion to his Twitter account on Jan 16. Via MailOnline:

For those who thought people across the world taking a stand against police brutality was just a trend or a fad, you might want to think again. Hundreds of protesters recently stormed the streets of Boston, MA and shut down a major highway during rush hour…..and one woman on the other side of the lens has come forward to describe her eye-opening first hand experience.

My father and I were faithful that we could get through the traffic on 1-93. Unbeknownst to us the highway got shutdown by Black Lives Matter Boston. My cousin called me and said “Yo, there’s protestors on the highway kid!” Others texted me asking if I was ok and if I was a part of the protest. The downpour of calls, emails, text messages, and social media posts were overwhelming. “Black Lives Matter group shuts down the highway,” I hear on the radio.

My dad stares at me for a while. He could tell I was livid. I clenched my teeth and said, “Let’s go home.” I was on my way to a SUPER important meeting. A meeting that had consequences if I missed. I can imagine everyone’s frustrations. I saw it on the faces of other drivers when we made a dramatic U-Turn. My journey home seemed like a lifetime. Not only was there traffic into the city there was traffic going out of the city. It was right then that I knew things just got real. I thought to myself (jokingly) “These fools really shut it down.”

I hopped out the car before it came to a full stop in front of my house. I got online and read BLM Boston’s press release. “Somerville/Milton/Boston Massachusetts — Activists have shut down Interstate 93 Southbound and Northbound during morning rush hour commute into Boston to “disrupt business as usual” and protest police and state violence against Black people.”

“The only way to spark change in a system is to disrupt it.” My comrade Renee said this a few weeks ago and it makes even more sense now.

In the words of the youth, “You mad or nah?” If you are mad about BLM’s highway shutdown, then these protests have fulfilled their purposes. Now, let us tailor that same annoyance, anger, and other emotions towards the real problem: INJUSTICE! This is a race issue. This is a justice issue. This is an American issue. When people begin to believe that then we can actually begin this long awaited process of change.

One reaction to the of the press release said “These are major routes for ambulances …I know it doesn’t matter to any of you guys but if someone dies because they can not get to the hospital that Blood is on your hands and you are no different morally than the police officer in Fergusan……”

Another man replied “When you elect corrupt people to serve us all, the blood spilled by the corrupt system is on your hands.”

It really depends on the lens in which people view it. One thing is for sure – people have put too much trust and belief in a system that was built on nothing more than corruption. In this movement and in this moment, we have to be brave and bold enough to make moves that are unpopular to the masses.

The next question is: How?

Activists have shut down Interstate 93 Southbound and Northbound during morning rush hour commute into Boston to “disrupt business as usual” and protest police and state violence against Black people.

Two different groups of activists linked their bodies together across the highway in coordinated actions north and south of Boston. This action was in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Today, our nonviolent direct action is meant to expose the reality that Boston is a city where white commuters and students use the city and leave, while Black and Brown communities are targeted by police, exploited, and displaced,” said Korean-American activist Katie Seitz.

In the past 15 years, law enforcement officers in Boston have killed Remis M. Andrews, Darryl Dookhran, Denis Reynoso, Ross Baptista, Burrell “Bo” Ramsey-White, Mark Joseph McMullen, Manuel “Junior” DaVeiga, Marquis Barker, Stanley Seney, Luis Gonzalez, Bert W. Bowen, Eveline Barros-Cepeda, Daniel Furtado, LaVeta Jackson, Nelson Santiago, Willie L. Murray Jr., Rene Romain, Jose Pineda, Ricky Bodden, Carlos M. Garcia, and many more people of color. We mourn and honor all these lives.

A marijuana-based spray which claims to be the first sexual lubricant designed specifically to improve sex for women goes on sale in Colorado next week.

Foria contains marijuana extract and the makers claim the relaxing properties of cannabis can help women have better and more satisfying sex.

An edible coconut oil-based spray, users are advised to spritz Floria on their genitals about 30 minutes before sex to ‘create the relaxation needed for sensual experience’ and possibly multiple orgasms.

Aphrodite Group – the California-based medical marijuana collective that sells the potion – said the majority of women who use it won’t get high, but will feel more relaxed.

The product was launched several months ago in California, but will go on sale in Colorado next week at an Aspen marijuana boutique just in time for the X Games, which begin on January 22.

‘We definitely have patients coming in for it, requesting it specifically. … A-list celebrities that come in specifically for it. You’d be surprised who comes in for it,’ Matthew Rosen of the CannaSutra co-op in Studio City, California told USA Today. ‘Most people have been giving positive feedback on it.’

Travis Barker And Shanna Moakler Arrested Over Domestic Violence

Thin line between love and hate…

According to TMZ reports:

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler were handcuffed and thrown in the back of squad cars for making criminal threats against each other … she claimed he threatened to kill her, and he claimed
she threatened him right back.

It happened last month, but we just got the legal docs. On December 7, the two got into a verbal fight over a reality show Travis wants to do with their 2 kids. It’s surprising, but the former couple STILL live under the same roof.

According to the docs — which were filed by Shanna so the family could be evaluated for a possible custody change — Travis said, “If I could, I’d put a bullet in your head.” She then called the cops, who came to their L.A. home. Travis then told cops Shanna threatened to have her boyfriend come and beat him up.

They were then both cuffed, arrested and taken to the station.

Shanna told cops things have gotten extremely bad between the two of them. She said he would say to her, “F*** you bitch,’ calling her a “f***ing piece of garbage and calling her “a cigarette smoking, coke-snorting bitch.” She also has an email in which he said, “My poor kids have a whore for a mom.”

Shanna says the drummer’s erratic behavior started after the 2008 plane crash — she claims he was suffering from mood swings while weaning off pain meds.

Sources tell TMZ … charges will not be filed against either one. But, we’ve learned, The L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services was contacted and they are investigating.

Murdering the mother of your children isn’t exact conflict resolution. SMH.
