Jay Z And Rihanna Attend “Roc Nation Presents: The Throne” Boxing Match

Roc Nation bossman Jay Z and a handful of his famous label affiliates took over Madison Square Garden in NYC last night for the “Roc Nation Presents: The Throne” boxing match where Roc Nation Sports prospect Dusty Hernandez-Harrison took on Tommy Rainone.

Among those in attendance were Bajan badgal Rihanna, who strolled in with her usual crew of BFF Melissa Forde and assistant/close friend Jenna Rosales….

…before later heading over to pose for a few flicks with Hov. Rih later took a seat next to actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who was also on hand for the event….

….and she was spotted turning up in the crowd as Brooklyn native Fabolous took to the ring, channeling his inner Frank Lucas for a performance of music from his recently-released Young O.G. album.

Mexican Cartels Force Members To Eat Human Hearts

As if decapitation and ripping apart live victims weren’t bad enough, the horrid Knights Templar drug cartel also forced its members to eat human hearts, according to a government official.

The Michoacan state syndicate is arguably the country’s most horrific organized crime gang.

The region has been crippled for nearly two years by fighting between vigilantes and syndicate gunmen. Chaos in the agricultural state has worsened in past months as rivalries erupted between various factions of the self-defense groups.

Even by the murderous standards of Mexican cartels, the Knights Templar is particularly gruesome. Its members are known for cutting off the heads of those they consider enemies and sometimes boiling people alive.

Its former spiritual leader, Narzio Moreno, aka El Mas Loco (The Craziest One) was notorious for his love of knives and guns and was one of the world’s most-wanted cartel leaders. Mexican authorities twice reported killing him — once in 2010 and again in 2014. It was his decision to add cannibalism to his syndicate’s arsenal.

Making members eat a human heart as a test of loyalty was part of Moreno’s way of finding traitors.

“The ritual ranged from dismembering people they intended to kill to sometimes serving up the heart,” Alfredo Castillo, Michoacan’s federal security commissioner, said on local television this week. He did not elaborate on whether the practice is still in use.

A California woman who became an activist against police brutality after the father of her daughter was brutally beaten to death by 15 police officers back in 2005 was rightfully outraged upon learning that her 7-year-old daughter was being forced to celebrate “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” at school.

North Beardsley Elementary in Bakersfield, California, is facing backlash after the principal, Aimee Williamson, who happens to be the wife of the Bakersfield police chief, decided to celebrate the pseudo holiday of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th. The biggest problem is that this hits far too close to home for one student.

Outspoken activist Alicia Moore was horrified when her seven year old daughter returned home from school on Thursday upset about her class assignment that day, as her older brother’s father was brutally beaten to death by 15 Bakersfield police officers in 2005.

According to Moore, her daughter’s teacher put three sentences on the board for students to choose from, all thanking and supporting the police.

The options included, “Thank you for arresting the bad guys!” and “Thank you for saving our city.” The teacher reportedly told the students that anything negative would be thrown in the trash. She further instructed the students that they were to wear blue on Friday in support of Law Enforcement.

Moore’s daughter is a very bright young girl who prides herself on her perfect attendance record. She also not only attends, but is consistently quick to jump into protests as this is an issue she is very passionate about. She will be staying home from school tomorrow due to the position her teacher has put her in.

James Moore, the father of her 21 year old brother, was bound, hand and foot, when as many as 15 Bakersfield deputies beat him to death in the basement of the jail in 2005.  James was arrested on suspicion of making threats after he got into an argument with the mother of his younger son.

The main issue with this is that police officers should be taught to respect the rights of citizens just as much as citizens should also respect the authority of police and until each of those can happen equally, there will continue to be tension between the two.

Will President Obama’s new education proposal kill Historically Black Colleges?

Some Southern University leaders are concerned that a proposal by President Barack Obama to make community college free will have a negative impact on historically black colleges and universities.

Under Obama’s plan, the federal and state governments would cover the cost of community college for two years for qualifying Americans, which he says would strengthen the U.S. workforce. The estimated cost: about $60 billion over 10 years.

But Southern system board member Tony Clayton said the plan would funnel students who might otherwise go to HBCUs instead to community colleges.

“I think that kills HBCUs,” Clayton said.

He said he plans to reach out to Louisiana’s congressional delegation and urge them to oppose Obama’s plan.

“We have to send a message to (Obama) that he’s wrong on this,” Clayton said.

Southern University System President Ron Mason said he’s also concerned about the proposal and what it could mean for the future of Southern and other HBCUs.

In preliminary plans that the Obama administration has unveiled, the federal government would pick up 75 percent of the costs, with the rest left to the states.

Students would have to attend community college at least half-time, keep at least a 2.5 GPA and “make steady progress” toward completing their programs, and the colleges themselves would have to ensure their programs are rigorous and are meeting workforce demands.

Harold Hamm’s Ex-Wife Accepts Billion Dollar Divorce Settlement

Sue Ann Arnall, the ex-wife of oil tycoon Harold Hamm, has cashed her huge divorce check after claiming earlier this week that the settlement was unfair.

Hamm built Continental Resources (CLR) from the ground up before leading the development of North Dakota’s Bakken oil field. He agreed to pay nearly $1 billion back in November to settle the divorce.

But Arnall, an economist and lawyer who held executive positions in the company, said she was entitled to more. She filed an appeal, claiming that the fortune was due to both her work and his.

Hamm’s attorney, Craig L. Box, confirmed to CNN that the check has been deposited.

The couple were married for 26 years, have two children and had no prenuptial agreement. As of last year, Hamm was worth over $20 billion, according to Wealth-X, a wealth tracking company.

Now, the legal case could be coming to a close.

“It is my opinion that by negotiating the tendered check, Ms. Arnall will dismiss her appeal and this litigation is likely at an end,” Box said in an email.

Arnall’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hamm had filed an appeal of his own, claiming that due to the dramatic drop in oil prices, his company’s value has taken a hit, along with his wealth.

Florida Man Attacks Roommate With Sword Over Stolen Washcloth

A Fort Myers man was arrested Friday morning after authorities said he nearly chopped his roommate’s ear off with a Katana-style sword.

John Peter Heck, 60, faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The attack followed an argument, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report, where the victim was struck in the head and arm with the sword after alleging that Heck stole his washcloths.

The victim told police from the hospital that the argument started when Heck accused him of dropping food on the floor while cooking – and then he confronted Heck with the stolen washcloths allegation, the report shows.

The victim suffered a deep laceration to his right forearm and his right ear was nearly severed in the attack, which left him bleeding profusely according to the report.

When deputies arrived they say Heck told them he acted in self-defense.

The sword had a 20-inch blade, according to the report, which notes the victim needed more than 20 staples and stitches to reattach his ear.

Now the former African women’s “Footballer of the Year” has opened up to the BBC about the embarrassing treatment she received from African football authorities when they asked her to strip down naked and prove she was a woman.
