Well THAT was fast!
After petitions, cries of her not “being black enough” and overall pandemonium, Zendaya Coleman has given up her starring role in Lifetime’s forthcoming Aaliyah biopic.
A rep for the actress cited “production issues” as the reason for her leaving the movie.
Disney Channel star and singer Zendaya will not play Aaliyah in a Lifetime Television movie after all.
A rep for the 17-year-old actress told E! News exclusively on Sunday, June 29, that “Zendaya is no longer involved in the project.” Lifetime, which had announced her casting in the biopic on June 16, has not commented.
A source told E! News that there were production issues, including problems obtaining the rights to Aaliyah’s music. The R&B star and Queen of the Damned actress died at age 22 in a plane crash on Aug. 25, 2001.
“Aaliyah has always been an inspiration to Zendaya,” the source said. “She was honored to portray her and pay tribute to her. If she is going to do it, she wants to do it right.”
Lifetime had said that the tentative title of the movie was Aaliyah: Princess of R&B and that the biopic will be based off of Christopher Farley’s best-selling biography Aaliyah: More Than a Woman. The project was set to begin filming in the summer and air this fall.
Now that Zendaya’s out, are one of these other girls in?????

An English woman recently made a gruesome discovery when she bit into what she thought was a juicy piece of fried chicken that turned out to be a paper towel used for “hygiene purposes” at the restaurant.
A mother in Newcastle, England was horrified when her stepson bit into a deep-fried blue paper towel, the Mirror reported last week.
Krystal Henderson, 29, and 7-year-old Oliver Hallam purchased takeout from a KFC branch in Killingsworth, according to the Express. At home, Oliver took a bite out of what he assumed was chicken, but recoiled seconds later.
“He pulled it out of his mouth and when he did, it pulled away the batter – you could see the blue roll inside,” Henderson said, according to the Daily Mail.
Henderson said that realizing Oliver had bitten into a paper towel was worse than if it had just been bad chicken.
“If it was bad chicken they might have just had a bad batch or something,” she said. “But the blue roll could have been used for anything – it could have bleach or disinfectant on it … Had someone wiped their hands on it, had it been used to wipe the floor?”
KFC investigated the incident and, in May, sent Henderson an apology letter, explaining
“the blue tissue has most likely originated from a tissue roll used for KFC hygiene purposes. The store assume it must have fallen unseen into the breading lug that is under the sieve and was not noticed by the cook.”
A spokesperson for KFC made the following statement, obtained by the Mirror:
We’re very sorry for Ms Henderson’s experience and apologized to her immediately, as well as giving her a refund at the time of the incident.
We take food quality and hygiene very seriously and unfortunately, on this extremely rare occasion, our restaurant failed to meet the high standards that both we and our customers expect.
We have retrained staff on our stringent food preparation procedures at this store to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Cameron Diaz took it all off for the very first time on camera.
The 41-year-old actress stunned in a series of shots for the August issue of Esquire magazine and opened up about stripping down completely nude for new film “Sex Tape” and her life decision to not have children.
“It’s a first for me. But Jason (Segel, her co-star) gets naked, too. It’s just a part of the role. So I did it. I mean you see everything,” she revealed of the movie due out July 18.
Despite having to sacrifice showing some skin in the name of the job, Diaz described acting to Esquire as “weird” but “great.”
“It’s a weird job, right?” the star said.
“I found myself (for ‘Sex Tape’) in a room in the middle of nowhere Massachusetts at 11 at night doing a childbirth scene, and everybody’s screaming at one another — Jason, the cameramen, the director. And me acting like I’m trying to push a basketball out of my vajoon. Crazy s–t, right? And the thing is, I always take a moment to say, ‘We’re lucky. This is a great job. A fun job.’”
The 41-year-old blue-eyed Becky also talked about her decision to opt-out of child bearing
Even though Diaz played the part of a woman in labor on screen for her latest flick, the blond beauty talked about her decision not to become a mom in real life.
“It’s so much more work to have children. To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for — I didn’t take that on. That did make things easier for me,” she admitted.
“A baby — that’s all day, every day for 18 years. Not having a baby might really make things easier, but that doesn’t make it an easy decision.”
“I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother,” the starlet continued.
“I have it much easier than any of them. That’s just what it is.”
